ECC to ECC connection in LTRS
Hello,
My requirement is to make a configuration between ECC system to another ECC system without changing metadata table's data.
The custom tables which need to be replicated are already present in both the systems.
Will this type of configuration start transferring metadata tables (DD02L, DD02T, DD08L) from source ECC to target ECC system automatically?
In ECC to HANA DB connection, it is starting automatically.
Cheers
Brillion
Hi,
for ABAP to ABAP the SLT will not replicate the DD* tables. The target tables has also to be available and will not be created by SLT automatically.

Changing documents downloaded from CRM into ECC, in ECC
Hi
Our requirement is to change documents downloaded from CRM into ECC, in ECC. I was refering to note 541113, but it is not of much use as we are using CRM 5.0. Also parameter that it says should be set I have set but ...obviously it didin't work. Please tell me what setting needs to be done for CRM 5.0 & ECC 6.0 so that our requirement is satisfied. I have searched SAP notes, without much success.
Thanx in advance.
Cheers
HitsHi,
This is very simple.
SAP has provided us with a new Scenario. this is called Scenario A.
This scenario can be made Transaction Type specific.
You need to maintain table SMOFPARSFA in CRM and CRMPAROLTP in R3.
SMOFPARSFA:
Key = R3A_SALES
ParamName = INT_CHANGE_ORDER
ParamName2 = <Transaction Type>
ParamValue = A
CRMPAROLTP:
ParameterName: CRM_SCENARIO
ParameterName 2: INT_CHANGE_ORDER
ParameterName 3: <sales document type>, for example TR
ParameterValue 1: A
Just do these settings and check. This must work

destination =JCoDestinationManager.getDestination("ECC destinaton");
function = destination.getRepository().getFunction("RFC name");
function.getImportParameterList().setValue("import parameter name", import parameter value);
function.execute(destination);
the errror occurs at the line highlighted in red.
Quick response appreciated.Hi,
part of the ABAP Transports from the SAP Integration Kit are also specific authorization objects. Take a look at the Installation guide for the SAP Integration Kit in the appendix.

SAP Upgrade from 4.7 to ECC 6.0 connected to BW 7.0 Best Practices
We are upgrading SAP R/3 4.7 to ECC 6.0. We have been running live in a BW 7.0 environment. We have done some enhancements for 2LIS_11_VAITM - Sales Document Item Data and 2LIS_13_VDITM - Billing Document Item Data datasources. We currently have a test instance that has been upgraded to ECC6.0.
What are the best business practices for testing BW to insure data transfer and enhancements are working correctly?
Eg. Should we connect the ECC6 instance to BWD and test there OR upgrade R/3 TST that is connected BWD and test there OR Upgrade QAS and test in BWQ.
Thanks in advance . . .
Edited by: RWC on May 4, 2011 6:26 PMHi RWC,
the plug-in will change slightly, you may notice differences in the screens of RSA2 and others after the upgrade.
Regarding best practices: In a recent upgrade our project team decided to create a parallel landscape with a new, additional Dev and QA on the R/3 side.
We connected these new systems to a BW Sandbox and the BW QA.
We identified all datasources, transfer rules and infopackages in use in production and recorded them with related objects onto transports in BW Dev. Before the import into BW Sandbox and BW QA we adjusted the system name conversion table to convert from old R/3 Dev to new R/3 Dev in order set up all the required connections for testing with the upgraded R/3 systems.
After the go LIVE of the upgrade we renamed the old R/3 Dev system in BW Dev and ran BDLS to convert everything (speak to your Basis team). That way we made sure not to lose any Development and we got rid of the old R/3 Dev system.
Take a look at this post for issues we encountered during this project and test everything you load in production.

Http RFC destination for ECC to PI Connection Error
Hi,
While doing the proxy runtime configuration http RFC destination for ECC to PI .
I configure the RFC destination as below ---
Target Host -- PI Host
Service No -- 50000
Path Prefix --- /sap/XI/engine/?type=entry
Login Security Details
User Id -- PI user id
Password --- PI password
While doing the Connection Test , I got the error "ICM_HTTP_CONNECTION_FAILED"
I checked T-code in ECC system SMICM and ICM is in green status and I checked the services are activated in SICF transaction.
Please let me know how to resolve this issue.
regards,
RohitHi Rahul,
I checked all service are activated in SMICM and I configured the FQDN also.
Now I cofigured the Service No --- 8000(http port no of PI) instead of 50000(J2EEport no of )
Target Host --- hostname
and did a Connection test...then I am getting a status as "http reponse 500" and status text as "empty http request received".
pls let me know is it correct configured or not.

Hi All,
Can you please provide me the steps (like NWA....) to connect ECC and PI java only systems for IDOC /RFC scenarios.

Dear All
I have done the following steps to create a RFC connection between ECC and BI.
Step 1: Define Logical System in R/3
Step 2: Assigning Logical System to Client
Step 3: Setting Up an RFC Destination
Step 4: Distributing Data Model
Message Types Involved in Process of Data Loading
Step 5: Generating Partner Profile
Step 6: Maintaining Message types in T-Code WE20
while creating the RFC connection in BI the inbound and outbound parameters for BI7CLNT001 and ERPCLNT800 are automatically comes and its working fine.
But in ECC(did the same steps) the inbound and out bound parameters are not coming.
I am getting these error while checking the source system u201CSource system ERPCLNT800 is inactiveu201D, u201CCheck failed for RFC connection ERPCLNT800 ; check destinationu201D.
Experts please help me to resolve this issue.
ThanksThanks for Your Response.....
I did the Restore info source Process but it shows there is nothing to restore..
unfortunately we don't have a basis consultant to resolve this..... plz help me to resolve this...........

Hi folks,
i would like to see ECC and SCM scenarios connected by CIF, how ever HU2(ECC) and HU8 (SCM) systems are not interconnected. let us know whom do we need to contact in this regard.
Thanks in Advance ...Hi Amit,
The ES (emphasis on Enterprise Service or Web Service) Workplace Systems are actually setup for customers or consultants to test drive SAP delivered Enterprise Services, so it stands to reason that integration between these systems would be using web services / SAP Enterprise services for the most part.
Trying to contact someone to configure CIF / ALE integration between HU2 and HU8 is not going to work for you.

Error while testing ECC and Portal-Connect to SAP gateway failed
Dear Experts,
While testing ABAP connection in Portal i am getting below error.Dear All,
My error is rectified with below thread.
SLDCHECK: Error when opening an RFC connection (CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPOCMIT'...
Hi,
You need to create an RFC to the SLDCHECK:
1. In your web browser, enter the URL of SAP NetWeaver Administrator using the following pattern:
http://<host>:<port>/nwa
2. Choose Configuration Management u2192 Infrastructure u2192 Jco RFC Provider.
3. Choose Create.
4. Enter the connection and transport parameters as required.
Field
Description
Program ID
We recommend that you use the following pattern: SLDAPI_<SAPSID>, where SAPSID is the system identifier of the AS Java system.
Gateway host
Gateway service
If your AS Java is an add-on installation to an ABAP system, use the gateway of the ABAP system. You can look up the gateway parameters of an ABAP system using transaction SMGW.
If your AS Java is a standalone installation, we recommend using a gateway on the Central Services Instance host. As of SAP NetWeaver 7.1, usage type AS Java that comprises SLD also contains an SAP RFC Gateway.
Server Count (1..20)
Enter 3.
5. Choose Next.
6. Enter logon data to the ABAP repository. You can either use an existing RFC destination from SAP NetWeaver Administrator u2192 Configuration Management u2192 Security u2192 Destinations or you specify the ABAP repository explicitly. The destination should point preferably to an AS ABAP close to SLD. If SLD is running on an AS Java standalone installation, the calling AS ABAP can be used instead. We recommend to create and use an RFC destination instead of explicitly specifying the connect parameters here. In both cases, the following parameters are required
Field
Description
System Landscape Directory 15
User Manual 03.04.2008
Application Server Host
System Number
Client
Language
User
Password
Enter the logon data for the AS ABAP system. You must specify an existing user with appropriate authorizations for RFC.
If you are running a system with both usage types AS ABAP and AS Java, use the logon data for this system.
If your AS Java is a standalone installation, use the logon data for the calling ABAP system.
7. Choose Next.
8. Leave the default values in the next steps.
9. Create the Jco RFC destination by choosing Finish.
Result
The Jco RFC destination creates a number of u201CServer Countu201D RFC server threads on your AS Java. These RFC servers register at the RFC Gateway specified. You may configure multiple ABAP systems to connect to these RFC servers. In this case, the Server Count should be increased when TIME_OUT exceptions are observed.
Creating an RFC Destination for the SLD ABAP API on the AS ABAP Side
Use
If you want to configure an ABAP application to access data in the SLD through the SLD ABAP API, you have to create an RFC destination on the ABAP system side.
Prerequisites
An RFC destination for the SLD ABAP API is created on the AS Java side.
Procedure
1. Call transaction SM59.
2. Select TCP/IP connections and choose Create.
3. In the RFC Destination field, enter SAPSLDAPI.
4. On the Technical Settings tab page, select the Registered Server Program indicator.
5. In the Program ID field, enter the same program ID as the one you entered when you created an RFC destination for the SLD ABAP API on the AS Java side. We recommend that you use the following pattern: SLDAPI_<SAPSID>, where SAPSID is the system identifier of the AS Java system.
6. Choose MDMP & Unicode and select the Unicode indicator.
7. Choose Save.
8. Test the RFC destination by choosing Connection Test.
If the display shows the response times, you have configured the RFC destination correctly. -
Hey all,
I've been working according the best practices
CRM Replication
Building Block Configuration Guide
to connect an IDES CRM 4 to and IDES R3.
After many problems the connection between the systems is working and data is replicating,
but there are some problems because those are IDES systems and there is already data in the systems I get some errors, that I don't know how to deal with.
In Tx. SMW01 I can see the following errors:
1. For the MATERIAL queue:
a. EAN 2348789098765432 does not correspond to the GTIN format and cannot be transferred
b. Plant 1000 is not assigned to any location
2. For the Customer_Main queue:
Customer number 403740 is already assigned to a business partner
Technical error occurred (4)
3. For the sales queue:
Processing of document with Guid 4B683CC54CC25C498F0113CC4A211F16 is canceled
Business transaction type SO does not exist
Validation error occurred: Module CRM_DOWNLOAD_BTMBDOC_VAL, BDoc type BUS_TRANS_MSG.
How can I fix those errors, its look like customizing errors...
Thanks alot
Natti.Hi,
Any update onthe above issue. I am also facing the same problem.

Hi All,
I have requirement to integrate our ECC system via PI to the another ECC system which lies outside our landscape through ABAP proxy..
How can we achieve this? Do we need to register external ECC system as technical system in our SLD?
Thanks,
AshishHi Ashish,
How can we achieve this? Do we need to register external ECC system as technical system in our SLD?
-->> yes you need to register external ECC system in SLD, if you want to have proxy connection between PI and external ECC system.

I just inherited the care of a Dual G5 server. I noticed that there are 2-256 sticks of ECC and 2-256 sticks of non-ECC memory.
Is this an issue? Or will they work fine together?Hi, lobsang-mack, and a Warm Welcome to Apple Discussions and the G5 Power Mac forum!
It should not cause problems. Presumably the server is working...? ECC is intended for servers and "mission-critical" applications.

Hi,
Scenario: ECC5.0 - XI3.0 - ECC5.0
Description: There are 3 ECC systems which need to send Service PO's to a 4th ECC System which in turn shall create a Sales Order for each Service PO received from either of the three systems.
Could someone please tell me the steps for the implementation of the scenario from scratch.
Thanks & Regards,
ShobhitHi,
but you have 2 weblogs:
how to send na idoc to XI (from ECC):
Introduction to IDoc-XI-File scenario and complete walk through for starters
/people/prateek.shah/blog/2005/06/08/introduction-to-idoc-xi-file-scenario-and-complete-walk-through-for-starters
and how to send from XI (to ECC):
Configuration steps required for posting idoc's(XI)
/people/ravikumar.allampallam/blog/2005/02/23/configuration-steps-required-for-posting-idocsxi
this is all you need:)
if you want to learn the XI itself I suggest taking TBIT40 course - it will give you the basic knowledge of the XI
BTW
your idoc to idoc scenario should be quite easy
so don't worry just read weblogs +

HANA Live on ECC - Should ECC be on Hana DB or any other RDBMS
Hi,
Going through some of the blogs, i need a clarification to install HANA Live.
If the ECC is on RDBMS, should the database be retired and moved to HANA DB or it can work side by side.
Thanks
Hari PrasadHi,
HANA Live is an additional SAP HANA Delivery Unit which you can install on your HANA One server.
HANA Live has SAP delivered Views, that are based on standard SAP Tables.
So you need to replcated those Tables first then import HANA Live.
The best fit here would SAP LT for replication.
you can get more information from here

How One EP Portal will connect the 2 Different System(ECC Europe,China)
Hi Friends,
I have one more doubt on Multi region Functionality. Here we are using single EP Portal. Depending up on user we are able to connect to the ECC System.
Ex: Here we are using 2 ECC Systems( ECC Europe and ECC China). In Portal ECC Europe is login into the Portal he will be able to connect ECC Europe System through ECC Europe Model data and Meta Data like as ECC China user Login into the Portal he will be able to connect ECC China System through ECC China System Model data and Meta Data.
How can I do this work. Can you tell me. What type of coding I can write here. Please give Help.
Regards
VijayKHi Vijay,
Not just multiple Systems/JCos needed, you also need multiple souce objects to connect to multiple Systems/JCos.
In your case you need multiple iView (applications), and configure them to connect to different back-end systems.
You got to modify the Application Parameter of WD iView objects saperately to talk to different systems.
Reason, you cannot make one application to use multiple JCo destinations at any point of time.
Thanks,
