Echo/Feedback when no one is talking.

I have a problem that has been persistent for a while now. Whenever I skype with my friend, both of us not using headphones, we get an echo/feedback. The thing though is, it's totally fine when we are both talking. If there is silence for a few seconds, we both suddenly hear a periodic high pitched noise that keeps amplifying itself. It can only be interrupted by one of us making noise/saying something. Another weird thing is that I, but not my skype-partner, hear white noise getting louder when we both mute each other. I assume the problem is somehow on my end.
We both turned off the automatic microphone adjustment and set it to a low value. We tried various combinations priorly. I also installed the latest audio drivers.

The problem you describe can be one of the following:
a. AGC (automatic gain control) that amplifies the signal.
b. Howling due to uncancelled echo.
In addition to the steps you already did, I also recommend to install the latest version of Skype and to turn OFF the automatic volume adjustment for the speakers (and not only for the mic).
If the above does not help, try using headsets. If this is not possible or does not solve the problem then you can try a dedicated noise reduction software like SoliCall Pro.

i have a story about my sister, am talking on her behalf, she got stolen her phone at a caffee when she just come from a horeble exam, she was very mad and having haedace for not doing well at the exam, i ask her if we could have coffee before we go home, once she sate; while i was getting the coffee for her, some one snicked to her pocket and took the phone, immidatly she feelt it and went on to searching, but nathing was hopefull. what makes it more heart braking is that she worked day and night just to buy the phone and pay for her books and so on as a student. she use to work 16 houres a day before she had to start school. 8 houres in one place and then to the other place. and she was always demanding for more houres to work; one day her boss saw her on her other job and she was serprised to see her and saied OHhh my God Milly if you work like this, i wonder if you servive, how could you also ask for more houres, My sis had to do it she has no parents or any thing, well the phone was taken after only two months of having it. the sad thing is she stile dream having it even though she can't think of buying againe. well me i have tryed a lot of things but i know some were out there there is a solution for people like this, it is not always fare for some one who has payed up to 800 to just loose his ......

I'm sorry, but your sister, unless she had already turned on the "Find my iPhone" feature and the person who took the phone has not disabled it, is out of luck. She should report the theft to local police authorities, including the serial number of her iPhone. While her experience is unfortunate, there are good reasons why Apple cannot do anything else about it.
I hope she gets her phone back.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I have posted over 10 times the same question in various ways yet no one can answer in a way that works
"Have asked about an error I keep getting when trying to sync. ("* -[NSCFDictionary setObject:forKey:]: attempt to insert nil value" )No replies after asking 8 times so I surrender. Is there any way to erase all the entries (I have over 6000) and re upload? Right now .Mac only can delete up to 50 or 1 page at a time. Is there another way to delete the address book?

The advanced tab reset doesn't update the .mac server version so the only way seems to be delete 50 at a time out of 6500 entries. How can I do an old school overwrite without confusing the computers as to which is which machine?

I looked back at the message Austin cited, and if I understand what you've posted above, you're not correcting the underlying issue.
First, you have seriously corrupted Address Book records on your source computer. If you had replaced those corrupted records with what I assumed would have been the intact records from .Mac, you would likely have resolved the underlying problem. But, as I understand what you've posted above, you did the opposite: you replaced the records on .Mac with the corrupted records on your source computer. It's not clear that the .Mac record set is now corrupted, and it should not be, but—on the other hand—it might be.
For the record, you should not have been able to successfully replace the record set on .Mac with corrupted data: it should have transferred only intact and valid data, or failed in an attempt to transfer corrupted records. The problem here is that there is not a one-to-one correlation between the Address Book schema and the .Mac schema for contact information, so it may have successfully passed the good data common to both environments, and not attempted to pass what incidentally are corrupted components.
You may be able to locate and fix each reported record only by using a utility provided by John Morgan, called ABFinder II. Send a message to the address listed in my Public Profile, and I'll reply with a copy. That application will allow you to identify the person referred to as CE45BC4E-4423-11DB-94EC-00050271EFEF:ABPerson, for example. By looking at both the error message and that specific record, you can correct the data in the referenced filed in that record, or recreate the record and delete the original.
You cannot synchronize successfully via .Mac—particularly across both the Mac OS X 10.3 and 10.4 mixed environment you have—until you either correct the underlying issue record by record, or do a wholesale replacement of the corrupted Address Book on your source computer from some other uncorrupted source: .Mac, a backup - something that does not contain the records with nil values.
The particular circumstances of your issue are complex, and really not at all clear. I cannot tell you how the initial corruption occurred on a record by record basis, or even how to avoid it in the future. If you hope to fix it, you'll have to be patient and attempt to do so record by record if no intact, uncorrupted copy of your contact record set is available. There is no quick fix to save the existing data.
And, Austin's right: there really is no one to talk to, though you could drag your source computer into an Apple Store and ask an Apple Genius to look at it, or go to an independent authorized dealer and ask someone familiar with such issues to look at it. Don't hold it like that. You're creating an 'echo chamber' due to the position of your hand/neck/face. It's not a technical issue. I hear this when I talk to my wife and she cradles the phone against her shoulder.

If I edit that trigger in enterprose manager console by pressing space and compile that, it is working fine with out any error. If i run the above statement in sql *plus, It is working fine with out any error.
Can you please tell me why this is happening if i run it using cfquery tag and also the possible solutions.

So it works in Enterprise manager. It works in SQL*Plus. It doesn't work in CFQUERY. Sounds to me like a ColdFusion problem rather than an Oracle problem to be honest. Aren't there any ColdFusion support resources?

HP Laserjet CP1025nw Color Printer - printer prints two copies when only one is requested.

pcwizard (HP) requested that I try Foxit Reader 5.1 to see if the printer will print properly. I used the same previous document and printed it with Foxit Reader 5.1. The printer printed two copies when only one was requested as it had done in the past. We still have a problem.
I am using Windows 7 (64 bit) for OS. I have experience the issue on two different computers.

Can you install the Basic Driver for the printer on one of the computers, and let me know if you still have this issue?

What version of FCP X?
Did you render? what are the project specs? do you use many compound clips? how much ram, hard drive space, how is the hard drive connected?
It looks like your mac can't keep up. Maybe the bottleneck is the hard drive, or something else.
Try exporting a master file and see if the video is ok.
Also, keep Activity Monitor open and see how much memory pressure you've got.

All rows in a Set get updated when only one row changes

I have a complex object, which contains a Set of child objects. If i modify one of the child objects and put the object back in the cache, coherence will issue a sql update for each of the child objects, even though only one changed.
I'm using hibernate, and when i do this in straight hibernate, that doesn't happen, only one sql update gets issued for the row in question.
I found this because i have a timestamp column that automatically updates when the row gets updated, but since all the child rows are updating, this timestamp gets updated as well which breaks the biz logic.
Am i missing something? Clearly it's inefficient to issue updates on all the child rows when just one changes. Is there some way to avoid this?

This turned out to be an issue with POF serialization of a Date object. It was doing it incorrectly, it would get the day correct, but the HH:MM:SS would be set to the current time. Since the object had been changed, when i persisted the parent, all of the child rows would persist as well since their "modify_date" attribute had been changed. Eg, if the date in the DB was "2010-07-14 03:10:00" when i read the object in, the value would change to "2010-07-14 HH:MM:SS" where HH:MM:SS would be set to the current hours/mins/secs.
I changed the code to use my own serialization of a Date object (just used the long) and things worked fine after that.
Is this a known issue with pof serialization?

Why does the Error: 500 SC_INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR appear when multiple users access my JSPs but does not occur when only one user accesses my JSPs?

When multiple users run my JSP application, why do some users get an Error: 500 SC_INTERNAL_SERVER_ERROR for certain JSP pages with the error message No such file or directory. The JSP listed on the Error 500 page varies and is not always the same. When only one user runs my JSP application, the problem does not occur?
The database connection is held when the user logs in or accesses certain parts of the JSP and then is immediately released. No connections to the database are held.
We are using Solaris 8 with MU_6 plus recommended patches.

Is anything showing up in the KXS or KJS logs?
It sounds like you might having some kind of thread safety issue with your code. Either that or your guess about running out of database connections.
