Edge and Data Plan charge changes

I'm on an existing month-to-month coming off a 2 year agreement with two lines and 10GB data per month at $80. On Feb 4 my daughter (2nd line) went to the Verizon store and moved her line to Edge Plan and the rep set the plan for the 10GB $80/mth for the duration of the agreement (at least that's the way it looks to me from the contract). Feb 4th was the same day for the expiration of the 10GB plan at $80/mth and it's now $100/mth. I've got the first month's bill and see the $80/mth billing and the name is still "MORE EVERY UNL Tlk TXT 10GB".
I am planning on getting a new phone on the primary line (probably the Samsung Galaxy S6) and was looking at the Edge plan vs buying outright the phone.
My question is if the Primary line is setup for Edge (new GS6) will this cause the data plan to reprice at the current rate of $100/mth or will the contract maintain the $80/mth pricing? If it does reprice - then buying outright is a better deal to keep the 10GB plan, at least that's how it looks to me.
Anyone know?
Thanks in advance for any help.

" - unless you choose to change your plan."
I understand the plans can continue when not changed.
The question is when changing an out-of-contract line (i.e. month-to-month)  to an Edge line - does that constitue a "contract change" that would effect the data plan billing aspect of the bill?
Thus,
a) can I Edge a new phone and keep the 10GB data plan at $80 or
b) must I bring my own phone (i.e. full price buyout) and keep the 10GB data plan at $80.
Thanks

  • View Customization Table changes and Data  table base changes in a report

    Hi All,
How to view Customization Table changes and DAta  table base changes in a report ,
Is it right transactions: SCU3 or RSVTPROT
Also plz let me know the concept of audit trial,
    Thanks
    SD

    Hi,
Changes to master data objects must be captured for the For compliance purposes. The auditor allows you to be able to view and print an audit log of changes to master data objects for a chosen period. It is very common for external auditors to focus on what has changed from one year or quarter to the next to help determine the nature, extent, and population for testing. To configure and access your audit log, perform the actions listed with each of the following utilities.
Audit Trail is used to track the record changes.
The report RPUAUD00 gives all the changes done to the masterdata by any user anytime.
But, before using this audit trial, please ensure that the system hardware is well equipped as the audit trials activation would later become a performance issue as this would occupy a lot of space in the coming time.
    Best Regards,

  • Control Plane and Data Plane

    Hi there,
I'm trying to figure out how to determine and how to differentiate between control plane and data plane especially in troubleshooting MPLS VPN. Any keyword that distinguish between them? It seems to be confusing for a newbie here :)
    Thanks in advance.
    maher

    Hi Maher,
The control plane is simply the set of processes that are responsible for disseminating information on routes, labels etc within a network. This includes routing protocols whose job is to communicate information on routes between different routers. The information provided by these protocols is then used to building routing/forwarding tables.
The data plane is simply an abstraction used to describe the actual flow of data packets using paths determined by the control plane. The control plane traffic carries control traffic (which is not end-user data) whereas the data plane traffic is actual end-user data.
There is no single command that you can use to distinguish between the two. The commands you have on a router that can be used to view control plane operation are as such:
    sh ip route
    sh ip cef
    sh ip bgp ...
    sh ip ospf ...
    sh mpls forwarding-table...
    etc... and many, many more
Typically, there isn't a clear demarcation between commands that display control plane info and those that display data plane information... You could use commands such as the following to get some idea of data traffic flowing through a router:
    sh interfaces
    sh policy-map interface
    etc.
Hope that helps - pls rate the post if it does.

  • Question about voice and data plan for Europe

I am in New York and my boss is going to France for a week and a half. He told me he will not have access to the internet there. He asked me to find out if it would be possible to get a voice and data plan for the month that he will be there, and if so, could someone show me where I could look at the different plans available?
If it's not possible to do that for just a month, then could someone tell me where I could find the rates are for voice and data in France?
    Thanks

    Hi kevindrosario,
I appreciate your interest in our International Services.  France, is a GSM country and will only support a Global capable device. Unfortunately, its not clear if your boss has a Global capable device.  If so, here are the details for the voice and data rates for France.
If your boss doesn't not have a Global capable device, no worries!  We offer an Occasional Global Traveler program, in which we will loan you a Global device for up to 21 days.  I hope this information is helpful.  Please let me know if you have any any additional questions or concerns.
    Thank you,

  • My data plan was changed without my knowledge or consent, and now I cannot get it returned.

I started getting overage notices, and when I looked it seems my unlimited data had been changed to a 2GB plan.  (I haven't signed any new contracts or bought any new phones, or done anything to the account).  I have been trying to get my plan re-instated and am being told I cannot. I'm not sure what I can do.   I've been with Verizon for many years, and had planned on remaining with them but I am SO frustrated by this. If I cannot get this mistake fixed I am going to switch to another company.  Any ideas?

What seems to have happened is that my sister went to look at phones, though she didn't end up getting one.  But in the course of the visit the rep was recommending alternate plans to her that he said would better suit her usage.  Somehow he ended up canceling my data plan.  This occurred a couple of weeks ago, and I tried to get it fixed right away.

  • Data Plan Charged a Month in Advanced

Why is Verizon charging me a month in Advance for my data plan?  My bill is due and they are making me pay for my data plan for next month.  It says this:  Email & Web Unlimited 07/09 - 08/08 (month in advance)  So if I ever did decided to go back to a feature phone instead of a smart phone I would lose 30.00 dollars?  I am currently not on a contract or anything so I am really confused and do not find this fair that they charge me before I even use it....Please someone help me.  Thanks

Worry not, Jwd! They bill EVERYTHING like that! Look closely at your price plan. If you have something like a 450 minute or 900 or 1400 minute plan they bill you for 07/09 to 08/08 as well. If you change your phone and go back to a feature phone (say, for example on 07/22), you'll get a refund for the data plan that you don't use from 07/23 to 08/08 on the next bill.

  • Two iPhone questions (existing customer and data plan)

Hello, I have two questions about the iPhone. I am on a family plan with At&t. I don't pay my bill. I want to keep it that way. Will I just be able to take my sim card out of my phone and put it in the iPhone since it's AT&T? Or do I use a new sim card and when activating it choose existing customer?
My second question is I am wondering if it is possible to use an iPhone without the data plan. I know I will be missing visual voicemail and edge but I don't care. Also, will this make me get a thousand dollar bill if I accidentally press safari and don't have a data plan? Thanks.

You can't use the SIM from your existing phone. You would use the new SIM and activate as an existing customer.

You have to get the data plan and for $20 it's worth it, not only is it unlimited data but includes 200 text messages. Without the data plan, you'll pay for every voicemail you access, every text message, any time you check weather/email/youtube/etc. In a nutshell, the data plan covers a lot more than just using Safari to browse the web.

  • Verizon Data Plan Charges

Verizon is missing a business opportunity by not introducing 2-tier data plan pricing.  I would get a smart phone if they had a lower price for customers who would use low data rates, such as ATT has introduced.  I do not need to download much data and therefore cannot justify their $30 monthly data plan fee currently required for smart phones.  Therefore, I will not get a smart phone and Verizon is losing the potential additional income which they would get from me if they had a lower tier data plan at ~$15 per month.

They are going tiered, ya have to wait til LTE is released, or maybe the holiday season.
Understand though your they are not missing your $15  by the way the plans are currently set.

  • Question about iphone 4 and data plan..

I have the 3GS with unlimited data.
I am getting the iphone 4.
I will be giving 3GS to wife.
Will the unlimited data plan only stay for the 3GS?
Or can it be transferred to the iphone 4?
Or can I get unlimited plan for both since I'm an existing customer?
    Thanks!!

You can continue with your unlimited plan on the new phone. Your wife will have to choose one of the new data plans for the 3GS.

  • Verizon iPhone 5s - in UK - enabled Global voice and data plan (pay as you go) - no service

Situation is as stated in the title.  I have taken my iPhone 5S from the US to the UK, and before leaving I added the free pay as you go global feature to my plan.  However, now that I am here, the phone says "No Service" and I can do nothing with it related to voice or data unless I am on WiFi.  Live Chat is not working.  I tried dialing the 800 number from my international flip phone and it cannot recognize my push button menu selection tones and so hangs up on me (no provision for accessing a customer service rep or vioce recognition).
Any thoughts on how I can get my phone up and running while I am here?

Hi there, bob_e_iphone5s! I'm terribly sorry to see you're having trouble with service while travelling abroad. It's true that you'll have difficulty reaching our Customer Care team with the 800 number. But you can use this link http://vz.to/1k7RFqd to reach our Global Services team. There's even a number you can use to call from international locations, toll free!

  • Changing To New AT&T Data Plan, Breaks Voice Mail

Sorry, but I'm posting this in several iPhone Hardware Discussions, since I think it applies to all versions of iPhones.
I'm also sorry if this has been posted before, but I'm not looking for help or answers, I'm providing them.
I have been on the $30 per month unlimited data plan with AT&T. Today I decided to change to one of the lower cost, lower monthly data rate plans. I called up AT&T and they made the change.
What I didn't realize is that making this change broke my voice mail. Well, more specifically, it broke the voice mail on all 5 phones in our Family Plan.
By breaking voice mail I mean that people can no longer leave you voice mail messages. If they call you, they will get the standard message that this person does not have a voice mail box and you cannot leave them a message.
Unfortunately, you don't realize it's broke. Since no one can leave you a voice mail, you don't get any voice mail notifications. AT&T doesn't send you a message stating that they just broke your voice mail. Your voice mail is broke and you don't know it.
It was my wife who figured it out. She had several missed call notifications, but no voice mail notifications, which seemed odd. When she clicked on the voice mail icon, she was prompted to Set Up Your Voice Mail. There was no list of her existing voice mail messages. Just a button to click to start the set up process. Which she did. She was asked to enter her PIN and record an outgoing message, even though she had done this the first time she set up her voice mail. She entered both her PIN and outgoing prompt. But when she clicked Save she got an error message stating that she could not set up voice mail. Her voice mail needed to be set up, but it wouldn't let her. There was no suggestion in the prompt telling her what to do or why it was suddenly broken.
So, I called AT&T. The person I spoke said I needed to power down the phone, which I did. After powering the phone back up, voice mail was still broke. I was then transferred to AT&T tech support. That person told me power down the phone. Which I did, but with some skepticism. After powering the phone back up I was told to go back into voice mail, which was still asking me to set up my voice mail. I followed the prompts and entered my PIN and recorded my greeting. This time it worked. Not only did I get voice working again, but I could see all the old voice mails I had. Unfortunately, I cannot get any voice mail messages during the several hours it was broken because none could be recorded.
Technical support person did fix the problem. However, I had to contact all family members and we had to go through this same procedure (power off, wait, power on, re-enter a new PIN and greeting) for each and every phone. This took somewhere close to an hour of my time.
The AT&T technical support person explained to me that since I changed my data plan (from unlimited to 200 MB) new "configuration" data needed to be sent to the phone. To get this data to your phone, you have to turn the phone off so they can send the data. Then you have to renter all your voice mail data.
    Incredible.
So, as I said, I'm not looking for help or answers. But I thought posting what I went through might be helpful to anyone else who might change their data plan.
Changing data plans = Broken voice mail .... Which requires a long phone call to technical support and reentering your voice mail data.
    Sheesh.

I've been a cell phone user since the early days of analog cellular. Back in the days of brick phones, of which I was a user.
I've been a customer of of Cellular One, Ameritech, Verizon, T Mobile, Cingular and AT&T.
I've never experienced loosing my voice mail as I did today.
I considered my voice mail broken since I could not access my visual voice mail on my phone, I could not reset my voice mail on my phone (following the prompts on my phone) and no one could leave me a voice mail message if they called me. I called AT&T customer support and they could not get my voice mail working. I'm not sure what more could be broken, but I would classify my voice mail as broken.
You may find it acceptable to have your voice mail broken (or perhaps cut off) if you change your data plan, but I don't think that's acceptable.
I don't see how I made a major change to my account. I didn't make any changes to the types of data I can send or receive. The only change I made was to opt for a lower cost plan that delivers all the same data. That change resulted in all 5 members of my family plan to loose their voice mail.
You may be correct that all this needed was for it to be reset. But, I can't reset it. The customer service person could not reset it. It took the tech support person to be able to reset it. All of which was about an hour on the phone.
I don't think this experience should be typical. Maybe it isn't. Maybe for some strange reason, in my circumstance something more went wrong. But, that's not what AT&T told me. They told me what I experienced is typical.
So, I thought I would post this for people that might experience this issue, or think about changing their data plan so that they would know what to do.
But, perhaps I was wrong in using this Discussion site to post what I thought might be helpful.
I'm sorry. I will (as I told a previous poster) delete this post. As soon I as I figure out how.

  • Being Charged for data plan I don't need

It's that time of the two year contract with two out of three phones up for a renewal on our contract. Two phones need to be replaced. I stop in at the local Verizon store to get our options, costs, etc. While discussing the two year contract and reviewing the phones my kids picked out, Joe (Verizon employee) informs me that the phones the kids picked out have a required a data plan that costs $9.99 a month. Now the phones the kids picked out are middle of the range text messaging phones. Not a Blackberry or a Droid.
I explain to Joe that I'm not interested in the data plan as the kids don't need internet service on their cell phones. This apparently does not matter to Verizon as this is a required charge now. Joe explains that I can block this service while still having to play $9.99 per phone each month. So that I get this straight, I asked Joe if my math was correct. I will be paying an additional $240 a year for a data plan service that I do not want or need? "Yes ma'am" was his reply. He then points me in the direction of the three flip phones that do not require a data plan. Now even this was laughable as he explains that these phones are more for the "elderly".  Oh yeah, I'm going to bring my 2 teenagers into the store and point them over to the "elderly" phones. Ha!
Interestingly enough, I bought the EnV3 recently and did not have to purchase the data plan. To purchase the exact same EnV3 now, I would incur this data plan charge. This makes absolutely no sense to me other than Verizon being greedy.
So then I leave the store and walk directly over to another wireless store and ask one simple question. Do I have to pay for a service that 1) I don't want and 2) don't need? The answer was "no".  He quoted the same phone plan to what I'm have now, but will not be charged for coverages I do not want. Off the bat, I'm saving $20 a month over Verizon. And he's comped two new phones for free. Nothing out of pocket for new phones. The man at this store then advised me to determine what my cancellation fees would be with Verizon in order to better make a decision on whether or not to switch.
I walk back to the Verizon store, put my name back into the system. While waiting, Julie (Verizon employee) asks me why I'm looking into cancelling my service. I explain the situation while she grins nicely and slightly nods her head. She has a teenage daughter and she understands. We discuss the need of limiting teenagers and internet service. She explained that even as an employee she had to pay for this service and did not want it. Well, Julie I have a choice.
I don't remember the name of the next VE but we review the cancellations fees etc. $225 due if I should cancel before my contract expires. (I can cancel during my contract and still not have to pay as much as incurring the new data plan charges.) He is doing everything he can at this point to keep my service. I ask him if he can waive a data plan service fees that I do not want. No, he cannot.
So thinking this whole through, I'm not willing to spend the extra money for a service that I do not want. I am not willing to provide my teens with a data plan on their cell phones that I have no control over. They have plenty of opportunities to access the internet without having it in their palm 24/7. Plus knowing teenagers, I wouldn't want to incur the add-on expenses for the data plan overrages. You know as well as I do, once they know they have it, it will be used and they will not have a clue on how to limit internet access. Yes, I am one of those moms that refuse to pay for everything their little hearts desire and like hell will I waste $240 a year because Verizon demands this data plan.
It's clear that Verizon does not have a clue on this. I would rather spend the $ to get out of a plan with a greedy company- than feed more money into their operation when they clearly don't have their finger on the pulse of what families need. So, after having been with Verizon Wireless for 14 years and quite happy with them and the service, I will be switching at the end of the month.

Dawn,  I'm right there with you....
I've been a "Verizon" customer for over 15 years (records carried over from when I was Cellular One and they got bought out by VZW)... and I currently have 1 primary and 3 supplemental lines for family.  In the past it was never a problem to get a multi-media phone for my teen because he likes to have his music with him.. obviously... he's a teen.  And in the past there has NEVER been a charge for any time of "data plan" for the MM phones.. which  is good.  So now his phone is eligible for an upgrade, and he'd like to have the EnV3 which has the MM features.  However  good ol' VZW being the monopoly that they are now wants a long time customer to pay for a data plan....a $9.99/month data plan for 25MB downloads.  More over, in order to ensure my teen doesn't surpass the 25MB/month, I'd have to subscirbe (at an additional price of $4.99/month) for Usage Control features for the line.  So now VZW wants this line to go from being a simple $9.99/month to $25.00 just because a MM phone??!!  What's worse, is that my teen already has an LG Voyager (a MM phone), yet I have services for mobile web, data downloads and such BLOCKED on his line.  So answer me this... why should I have to mandatorily pay a mandatory $15/month fee for a service I'm not using in the first place?!!
VZW has slowly but surely penny-anny'd their customers over the years and I'm finally fed up with it.  Time to switch.  Even if the other carriers do require a data plan with their phones, at least I'll know what I'm getting up front and no suprises along the way.  VZW's "New every two" means NEW AND MORE CHARGES EVERY 2 YEARS... that's for sure!

  • Will data plan change

Hi all !!..i have both a black berry bold and an iphone 4 which im currently using.i want to switch and use my blackberry for a while but im alittle concern
if my data plan will change after i switch phones?

Technically it will change but price wise is the same.  Be aware that the voicemail is different on the iPhone so switching you will lose any voicemail, both ways I believe.  If yo have unlimited data now, you won't lose it if you switch between the iPhone and the BB.,

  • Time and date settings change when phone is powered down (not shut off)..

I recently installed the iOS 8 update and immediately noticed that the time and date settings would change when I powered down my iPhone. I did not turn off my phone, only clicked the button to power down or save power. I have tried all the fixes, suggestions, etc., but I am still having issues. In the power down state, I am able to receive phone calls or texts but when I go into my phone, the time and date will be off. It stops from the moment I click the button to power down the phone. Please don't get this confused with turning off the phone completely. This happens when I click the button for power down or power save, however it is described.
So, how do I fix it? Is the app/software for the clock the problem? Is the battery distribution the problem? For some reason, in power down mode, the clock is not receiving constant power in order to keep accurate time. It stops the moment I click the button.  Any suggestions? fixes, etc. I could try. Apple support techs were absolutely no help what-so-ever.

This sounds exactly like what is going on with my phone, http://www.idownloadblog.com/2012/10/19/iphone-5-date-time-glitch/

  • Transfer Phone/Data Plan Between Phone Numbers

    Hello,
I have a Droid X with the promotional $15/month 150MB data plan. My wife is eligible for an upgrade, and we were thinking of getting her her first smart phone. She will definitely not be a heavy data user. We are under the same Family Plan.
What I would like to do is use her upgrade to purchase a new Droid Incredible 2 with the unlimited data plan. After doing so, I would like to transfer her phone and data plan to my phone number and vice versa (transfer my phone and data plan to her number).
I'm getting conflicting info as to whether or not this can be done. I've read a post on here that suggests this is possible, but I called Verizon and was told that it isn't. The CSR told me that since my data plan is promotional and no longer available, there is no way to perform the transfer.
Is this correct? Is there no way of getting the $15/month plan onto my wife's phone number (regardless of whether we switch phones or not)?
    Thanks.

Adding to what was stated in assisting mandms7, the $15.00 data plan is no longer available and not able to be transferred if you switch phones. If you change devices, you would be asked to select from one of the available data plans to replace the data plan no longer available. Also, if you upgraded your wife's featured phone to a Smart Phone by July 6th, 2011, you would have been required to select the unlimited data plan for $29.99. If upgrading after the 7th, then you need to select from one of the available data plans. Please use this link to be taken directly to the website to see the available data plans. There is also information available to help determine which would be the best data plan available. You could always switch phones online being logged into My Verizon. However, the selecting of the data plan would be needed at the time of switching your phones.
