Edge, Wi-Fi and GPRS for Mail...

Hey,
im looking to buy an iphone soon, just a few questions..
1) is it a good time to buy in the UK? after the updates to the tariffs?
2) is mail usable with GPRS? the edge coverage isnt great in my area and i dont always have access to wi-fi.

First of all I'm not sure they have started to sell iPhone in UK... I live in sweden and are still waiting for them to tell me that it is eaven planing to be sold here...
back to the question... well
1) if they haven't started selling it yet so then no... but you could unlock one... but my friend did it with one... it dos not work so well, so I would say wait some time... and they will probly give you a better edge conection soon too...
2) I don't think so... I think the GPRS network is to slow for it to get mail... also I think Apple is going to relese a 3G version of iPhone.... if you have a better 3G conection that would be good then

How can I stop the spinner in the 'checking for mail' column?

Whenever I ope my mail app and read the bottom left column, I see the spinner and 'checking for mail'. Then I see 'sending 1 of 2'. Then the bar fills in, as though 2 mails have been sent. There is no mail sent. Then later I open the app again and it starts all over.

Hello TheTiger81: You made a valiant effort to help me. Yet I went back, opened my mail and the same thing happened all over again. I appreciate your trying to get me beyond this. Makes me sorry I complained about my iPad that kept turning off. This spinner problem seems worse, as I feel it will take a toll on the battery. Thanks very much.
And if you have any other suggestions, I will try them. Do you think I should try your suggestion more than just once?

anyone knowing how to disable edge and/or gprs. i use this for saving battery on my 3 gs.

@ airrocher: flightmode disable also the phone connection (phone calls) as far as i know, and that's not what i want to do.
@tamara: could you confirm, that edge or gprs disabling brings no longer battery lifetime? my main problem on 3 gs is the battery time. so i thought disabling edge and gprs saves battery, as well as 3G does.

Dunning form F150- Telefon/fax/mail printing for 1 user and not for other

Hello expert,
This is regarding the printing of the dunning form using F150.
At first, using company code and account clerk (BUSAB), we retrieve the user id. The program uses FM BAPI_USER_GET_DETAIL to get the address details of this user id. The user name, telephone and fax adn email are printed in the dunning form (1st reminder, 2nd reminder and so on). The problem here is , the address details are printed on the form for one user and not for the other user who is processing. Any idea regarding this. Do I need to give any user setting parameter in SU01 or is there any authoriztaion issue which is blocking this. Awaiting reply,

I'm having the same problem with Exchange 2003, I can get it to work with Entourage and on my iPhone, but it keeps rejecting my password on Mail.app. If I keep entering the password it starts to update with server, but it won't save the password. IMAP is on for my account which is how it works on iPhone.
I'm starting to think it has something to do with Keychain Access or Mail.app and not so much Exchange Server. If anyone has found a solution please let me know,

Go to: Apple > Force Quit
and select Mail > Force Ouit.

According to your descriptioin, I don't think this is system problem, it should be Intel driver problem. It would be contact Intel to confirm this issue whether this is their driver problem.

On my iphone4 i need to be able to use both TDS and Yahoo e-mail. TDS works only sporadically. For instance, today I was able to both send and receive, then an hour later could not send. got the message that the server was not recognized.

On my iphone4 I need to be able to receive and send both TDS and Yahoo e-mail accounts (I also need to access from my Macbook Pro and my HP desktop). I have NO problem with Yahoo, but with TDS, the e-mail seemed to work on my phone.... and then it didn't.) In adding the TDS account, I chose "other" ( TDS is somehow accessed on the back end through gmail). For the incoming server I used the Incoming Sever Name of pop.gmail.com and the Outgoing Mail Server as smtp.gmail.com. I have using SSL "on" and the server port is 995. Is this setup correct for TDS?

FYI: POP will by default, delete messages from the server after downloading them (This applies to most pop clients, computer or mobile). POP is old tech and is not recommended if IMAP or Exchange are available. The default when setting up a g-mail type account is IMAP. Full synchronization with the server. You may also be able to set it up as an Exchange account, allowing for push e-mail and sync of calendars and contacts as well. See the Gmail help pages for instructions.

Sounds like you are looking in the wrong Administrative Group container which is why you are seeing your Exchange 2010 servers in there.
When you install Exchange 2003 only you will see a container named by default as "CN=First Administrative Group" container. But this could be named anything if you changed the Organization Name on the installation when you installed the first
Exchange 2003 server into the domain/forest.
You will notice that when you install Exchange 2010 part of the AD setup is to create a new configuration container and is named by default "CN=First Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)".
So it sounds like you are not looking in the right location within ADSIEdit.

I recommend though that you ensure your Exchange 2003 servers are fully uninstalled or no longer present in your environment before you go deleting the Servers container though.. The following Microsoft article will help with this:

Even when I use the "ask personal questions" option to verify and it asks me for my date of birth, I put it in and it still won't acccept.

It is simply too painful to have to zip everything up into a single file to send. MHT format has been available for years now from IE, and with every new FF release it's the first thing I look for. I have been using FF for years, and hate having to come out of it, over into IE |(which I even took out of startup) and key everything in again, in order to send somebody something in a convenient format that they can open with a single click.
I can't believe this hasn't been asked before, so have you looked at it and rejected it? Have MS kept the file format secret?

This is not really an answer just my comments on your question.
I am sure I recollect efforts being made to get mhtml to work with FF.
Probably the important thing to remember about .mhtml is that if other browsers do support it they may need addons, and may not necessarily render the content correctly/consistently.
There are FF addons designed for archiving webpages, you could try them, but that then assumes the recipient has the same software.
You could simply save the page from FF to your XP pc; then offline open it with and save it using IE, before then emailing using FF, and attaching the .mht or mhtml file that you have now created on your PC.
As an alternative method, in some cases it could be worth considering taking a screen grab of the required page, then sending that to the recipient as a single email attatchment using either a bitmap or jpeg file format for instance.
Something such as an airline booking may be designed with a print option, possibly it could be worthwile looking at sending the print file itself as an email attachment.

I have a nearly identical problem with my Ipad 3. Mine is the left channel. I've yet to find help, but have found a number of other posts on this and other forums discussing the issue. People have tried restore, reset etc. Also, cleaning the ports with compressed air or cotton swabs. It appears to be a software issue, but no one is sure.
Along with the original poster, I'd appreciate any help.
As far as the 'level 6' poster, if you're going to be rude, please don't bother. Hope it was just a bad day.
