I typed my email address in Google and my Behance pdf resume shows up with all my information. Did you all know this? This is a security breach in my opinion.

    HI Carol,
Thanks for writing. It looks like you had selected your work experience to be visible to the public, so this is why it was visible online. Now I see that you have your work experience listed as private (other than what you have on your profile), so this should no longer be the case. Let me know if you're still seeing this searh result and what exact google term you searched for it to come up.
    Thanks, talk to you soon!

  • How to create multiple editable PDFs from data merged Indesign file

    Hi
This is quite complicated but I'm hoping someone can help me and hoping I can explain it too!
I am working on a project for a client. She wants to send 150 people a 6 page PDF with fields to complete and return to her.
She has an Excel spreadsheet with some of the fields completed already so these will be Data Merged into InDesign CS6.
The short version of the question goes like this:
Can you automate the process so that once all the data is in the InDesign file, it can then create a PDF every 6 pages all in one go?
For those still interested, the long version of the question goes like this:
I have created 3 pages in InDesign with fields to complete and used the 'Data Merge' facility to add the Excel info.
I have created 3 more pages with blank fields to fill in.
Then I have made all fields editable using the 'Buttons and Forms' facility in the Interactive menu.
Then I have created an interactive PDF. Then I have opened that PDF in Adobe Acrobat X Pro and saved it as 'Reader Extended PDF' and 'Enable Additional Features'
I now have an Editable PDF with half the fields filled in and half blank to be filled in and this can be saved and returned.
Now, this would be great if it was only one or two. But I need to create 150 different versions and this is just for the Pilot study. If all goes well, this will go to 5,000 people and I can't be creating 5,000 seperate PDFS!!
At this stage, I am just focussing on the 150. So again, going back to the original question, is there a script that could be written either to break up the 1st PDF every 6 pages into 150 different PDFS? Is there even a way of extending that script to Save as Reader Extended etc? Is there a simple idea that I'm missing? Are there any ways to do this? I can use 'Created Merged Documents' to make 150 x 6 pages in Indesign so can anything be done from there?
    Any advice greatly appreciated
    Thanks
    G

  • Unable to edit PDF files in Adobe Acrobat DC

i am unable to edit a file in adobe acrobat dc i have tried with multiple files and everytime i click edit pdf it get a pop up that says adobe acrobat dc has encountered an unknown error however i have been able to edit a few pdf's i tried everything from re downloading a new file to saving it in acrobat reader and nothing is working please help

    Hi imadb,
Since you have the Acrobat Pro DC 30-day trial, please try opening that to edit your PDFs (rather than opening them in Reader, and clicking the Edit PDF button).
If you search your computer, you should have both an Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and and Adobe Acrobat Pro application. They can coexist, but it does make things a little confusing.
If you want to evaluate  Acrobat Pro DC, it's best that you open it directly. That way, you can get the real "lay of the land" with Acrobat before making any purchase decisions.
    Best,
    Sara

  • Acrobat 9.5 - use Touchup text Tool to edit PDF. Updates do not display. But, if I "save as" Word doc, the edits appear in Word. This feature worked in earlier versions of 9.x patches.

I have a suspicion you're working with a scanned document that has had OCR run to recognize the text. The recognized text may be stored on an invisible layer above the image of the text, and that is what you're toucing up. It's invisible, so you don't see it, but retains the changes, so exporting produces the new edits.
When you run OCR to recognize scanned text,, try using the ClearScan option, instead of Searchable Text. See this help page on Acrobat (this is for version X, but still applies):
Adobe Acrobat X Pro * Recognize Text - General Settings dialog box

  • Standard 9, missing EDIT PDF PORTFOLIO side bar after recent update

I can't find the place to enable the view of the "EDIT PDF PORTFOLIO" sidebar.
I've always had it, but Acrobat updated recently, and it's gone.

    That can't be correct.
I've had the function all along until a recent update.
In addition, I currently can still create and manipulate files within a portfolio.
I lost a functionality of changing order of contents, and need that sidebar to change the layout.

  • I just started a free trial of the Adobe XI product that allows me to create an editable PDF. I'm done creating the form and ready to export it. When I click Export PDF from the File menu, it says Adobe encountered an unexpected error. What am I doing wro

I just started a free trial of the Adobe XI product that allows me to create an editable PDF. I'm done creating the form and ready to export it. When I click Export PDF from the File menu, it says Adobe encountered an unexpected error. What am I doing wrong?

Good to know  — there is no such application as "Adobe XI".
"Adobe" is the name of the company.
"XI" is indicative of the use of either Acrobat XI or Reader XI.
Neither Acrobat XI Pro (for which Adobe provides a free, fully functional 30-day trial) nor Adobe Reader XI (the free to download and use PDF viewer that Adobe provides) have  an "Export PDF" entry under "File".
"Export PDF" only is present in Adobe Reader XI over on the right on the "Tools" panel.
The "Tools" panel provides a way for a user of Adobe Reader XI to connect to various By Subscription online services (gotta pay eh).
Export PDF is one of these. A subscription lets you send a PDF file to the online internet service (aka "cloud" service). The service then exports to a supported file format (Word / Excel / ...) and the user selects / directs where the output file is to be saved on the user's local machine.
Of course to use any of the online subscription services one must have an active (paid up in full) subscription to the service.
So ---- As described the puzzle pieces don't fit eh.
What specific Adobe (the company) applications are you using?
Acrobat XI Pro? Adobe Reader XI? Both?
    Be well....

  • Can you save editable pdf as read only

I have a client who's using an editable pdf that I set up in the full version of Acrobat 8.0. They would like to edit the doc in Acrobat Reader and then do a save as and make the doc "read Only" so that their viewers can't edit the document after they have made their changes. Is this possible or am I the only one who can make it readable or not readable with the full version of Acrobat?

You can do it. They can't.
If this is something they are going to do a lot of, recommend that they purchase at least Acrobat Standard if not Pro.

  • Clicking "Edit PDF form" stops Adobe Acrobat Pro 11 from working. [FIXED]

As the title says, whenever I click "Edit PDF form" in Acrobat Pro 11, it displays the message "Adobe Acrobat has stopped working" and then when I click OK it closes.
It is a fresh install.  I tried reinstalling, by removing it first, i tried a repair, I also tried using Revo Uninstaller to clean up anything that was left after an uninstall, and still no joy.
    Any help would be appreciated.
It is running on Windows 8.1 Update (x64), and the version number for Acrobat Pro is 11.0.10.
    Thanks!
    **Update**
While I was writing this I had an epiphany, so I checked the Windows application logs which logged the following error every time Acrobat crashed...
Faulting application name: Acrobat.exe, version: 11.0.10.32, time stamp: 0x547e97af
Faulting module name: nvd3dum.dll, version: 9.18.13.4121, time stamp: 0x5474d740
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
which lists nvd3dum.dll as the culprit.  This has something to do with my Nvidia graphics card or drivers (NVIDIA Quadro FX 4600)
So after a little research I discovered a little registry tweak which "specifies the number of seconds that the GPU can delay the preempt request from the GPU scheduler. This is effectively the timeout threshold. The default value is 2 seconds." (Quoted from MSDN)
So I added the REG_DWORD value TdrDelay to the key path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers, and changed the value to 8.  After rebooting this seemed to have solved the issue I was having.
    Here's a screenshot...
    Hope this helps someone!

We created forms in acrobat 9 pro and now with XI pro cannot edit them.  Error message states that livecycle designer is required to edit forms previously created in acrobat.  Called tech support and waited for over an hour before being told that another product needed to be purchased for $300 more than the upgrade cost for acrobat pro XI!!!  From the XI FAQ - The web site states:
The following customers are eligible for a free upgrade:
Customers who purchased a prior license to Acrobat and have purchased an upgrade to Acrobat XI Pro
Customers who have an Adobe Maintenance and Support contract or purchased Upgrade Plan eligible for an Acrobat XI Pro upgrade
Active Creative Cloud Complete members whose memberships started before October 15, 2012
The one-time LiveCycle Designer upgrade is available in English, French, German, or Japanese. Eligible customers can choose which language they would like to receive. Visit the Customer Support Portal to request an upgrade.
After entering in the needed info on the support portal was told that adobe will Not honor the sales rep & web site which both said we are eligible for the free upgrade.  We asked for a full refund and will not longer be using any new adobe products.  We went back to 9 pro forms work fine and adobe lost $.  Nice work adobe - lie to customers and then act surprised that the customers want their $ back!  They told us to just toss their software DVD in the trash where IT belongs, so we did!

  • Fillable PDF to saved non-editable PDF

I currently have a trial version of Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and Livecycle Designer ES 8.2. I am looking to create a fillable form PDF and then send it to clients who will use adobe reader to fill the form and then save it as non-editable PDF form for general usage.
    How can this be done?
    Thanks, Vijay

    Hi Michael,
Thanks much for the response, can you help me with instructions on how I can enable extended rights? Sorry, I am not too familiar with the things in Acrobat or Livecycle.
    Thanks,

  • Is it possible to create a editable pdf with validation(required field) using Adobe Acrobat pro version?

    Hi,
the subject says it all. I have downloaded the trail version to see if its possible to create a editable pdf with validation(required field) using Adobe Acrobat pro version?
Basically, I will have to create a pdf form where users fill it and send it back to me. there will be required fields (the textbox and check box) that user need to fill before saving the editable pdf?
Is it possible. if so, can someone kind enough to point to me right directions?
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for reply. What I am trying to achieve is to give an option for the user to download the pdf form and once the user tries to save the pdf, it validates with the required field. I managed to create the editable pdf with required fields option. I just need that validation to be done when user click on save file. How can I achieve this? thanks so much for your help.

  • I can't see how to edit PDF inside Portfolio for Acrobat X. In Acrobat 9 Pro

I can't see how to edit PDF inside Portfolio for Acrobat X. I can do this in Acrobat 9 Pro with the Document pull down menu. Did they take this away in Acrobat X?

Whether it's maxed or not doesn't make any difference.
The bottom part of the image/scroll bar is always under the Windows taskbar any time the URL is opened.
It is always fixed by doing something, either switching to and back from another window, or turning on and off one or more toolbars.
That shouldn't be necessary. The bottom part should be visible when the URL is opened.

  • Editing pdf metadata

is there a practical guide on how to edit pdf metadata in acrobat X pro? last time i checked there was some issue with this and i need to do this.
i have pdf's that i created and would like to put them out in the world with some identifying information.
if this is not possible in acrobat or if there is a good tutorial or instructions somewhere would someone be kind enough to help me find out?
    THANKS

    hi. sorry i wasn't clear.
if i go to File > Document Properties > Description i see about five tabs and i would like to read up on these to make sure i understand them. on the bottom left of each is a HELP icon that seems to take me to an online help document and on the top right it seems to let me download a pdf help document.
i can't figure out how to print the information in the online help document (the one that first comes up) and when i go to the downloadable pdf i can't figure out how to search for the topic that the HELP icon shows me...
i really want to just print the information that first comes up but even my Snagit screencapture sofware can't capture it so i would have to do a series of scrolled screenshots which is a real pain.
    TIA

  • How to create editable PDF template for XML Publisher reports

    Hi,
I have got a requirement to have some editable fields in one report whose output is in PDF format.
I tried looking and saw this can be done using the XML Publisher report and using PDF template.
But I got only Adobe Acrobat Reader and it does not have the facility to create Form fields.. Can you let me know what software I need in order to create the editable PDF Template.
In the user guide, it didnot mention anything regarding this.
Can I create editable PDF report using RTF template or do i have to got for PDF template only?
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks

    Hi,
To edit PDF template , u need Acrobat writer, which is not free .
I am still wondering what is this ?
"" Can I create editable PDF report using RTF template ?? "".
What is editable PDF report. ?
i think what you tried to mention is ,
can the PDF output from xml publisher is editable ?
If that is the question , so here is some points,
If you have Acrobat Writer or prof.edition, you can edit all the PDF documents irrespective of being from where it is generated.
To make you understand more of XMLP.
You create RTF template in word, so that , after merging with xml you can have multiple output formats like PDF, XLS, EFT,.....
