EIC: Employee search - wild card search with personnel number

Hi,
The employee search functionality in EIC employee-search screen allows to search an employee through wild card search. We had set up this and everything was working fine, but suddenly the functionality to search an employee by giving part of personnel number as wild card search is not working, surprisingly other search criteria are listing employee list. For example, if i need to search an employee with personnel no 30000111, then i can give 30* in search criteria and employees starting with 30XXXXXX would be listed. This is the functionality not working at the moment.
Can anybody please help - what could be the probable cause or where should i look to fix this? Any documentation in this regard would really be helpful.
Thanks in advance.
Sujit

hi,
Probably u can set a debug point in the bsp application and ask your abaper to debug the same.
check if any patch application has been done after you saw the functionality working fine.

  • Network confirmation with Personnel number

    Hi,
In project systems, While confirming the Network with personnel number, the planned cost is calculating based on Activity rate maintained in KP26. However for actual costs, the calculation is from HR I assume. Am I right?
If it is from HR,  where in HR the time sheet rate is maintained for the personnel number?
    Thanks,
    Prabha

    Hi,
    I got the answer.
    FYI
If the network confirmation is entered with the personnel number, the system is looking for the "Position" in HR master and based on that it is picking the workcenter assigned with this resource. So the cost is from the activity assigned in the workcenter even though the network is confimed with a different work center.
Thanks for your responses, it helped me in tracing out this issue.

  • Can I use a wild card in a dialed number in ICM

    Hi there,
I need to enter several thousand dialed numbers which will all be mapped to the same call type.  Instead of adding each individual number or bulk imporing them can I use a wild card?
    Cheers

I can tell you that we do exactly what you want to do, and it's the correct way.
When blocks of numbers are caught by the gateway translation rules on the POTS dial peers and then matched by VOIP dial peers and sent up to CVP, you often end up having to deal with this situation.
To prevent callers from hearing the CVP error message we have a message (WAV file) copied from Call Manager (we use the Annunciator-VCA.uLaw.wav file - something like "the number you have called is not configured. Please check the number and dial again" in different languages) and a simple PM microapp script to play it, scheduled against a call type.
All of the numbers coming up from CVP that otherwise don't do anything are mapped to this call type and play the message.
I pay attention to the Router Log Viewer and keep hammering the addition of dialed numbers until I get no more errors there. It sure can take a while. When the branch office (we have 11 or so in different countries, expanding to 20) owns a large block of numbers (say 100) you want to catch all of the "unconfigured" numbers so the caller (who may have fat fingered) hears a message in their language that has meaning.
I do these large configs using Excel, with formulae etc to make the work easy. You will figure out the shortcuts - necessity is the mother of invention.
Once the Excel is correct on all the CVP routing clients, export it as TAB separated and Bulk Import.
To do the call type association (a painful task), I change the name of the call type - I put AAAAA in front. This forces it to the top of the combo box. So now you can actually fly through the Dialed Numbers you are trying to set and just use "Enter - Enter" to set the association. Once all done, change the name of the call type back.
That's the best I can do.

  • Problem with personnel number

    Hi all,
I deleted all the personnel number using the Report RPUDELPN  but know when I tried to generate the hiring process again I get the personnel number from the position where it was deleted.Let me explain this....
Suppose I deleted the number from 2-30 now when I start the hiring process again I just get the personnel number starting from 31 but I need to get it generated from the very beginning .
    Thanks all
    Regards
    Navratan

    Hi Navratan
You will have to reset your Number Range status for this. Basically change the next number to be generated by the number range.
SPRO --> Personnel Management --> Personnel Administration --> Maintain number range intervals for personnel numbers --> NR Status
Reset the NR Status number to 4

  • Vendor search with CNPJ number

    Hello all,
We are in SAP SRM 5.0 Server 550 system with ECS.
Recently we went live with Brazil, now there is a requirement that the users while creating SC want to select vendors based on CNPJ number (Legal tax number - In vendor master is Tax number 1 ).
So the vendor search criteria should include CNPJ field. Can you suggest possible ways of achieving this.
CNPJ number is getting replicated in SRM.
    Rgds,
    Madhan

Sorry for the delay in responding to your question. I talked to one of our search experts and he told me that most part numbers are searchable, as long as you are in the library that contains the part number. Alternatively, you can search for docs based on their part number n the Oracle Store.
Each book that is published using the standard Oracle procedures goes into a directory hierarchy on download.oracle.com. In your example, the URL for the table of contents would be:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/A75388_03/toc.htm
However, that URL gives a "page not found" error. So I suspect that the book either was published so long ago that it wasn't transferred over to the download server.

  • CER - Wild Card when configuring ELIN Number

Hello, hope I got the right forum here. I'm trying to configure an new ERL in CER (ver 8.6) and am trying to figure out whether or not I can use a wildcard for the last four digits of the ELIN number. Basically, I'd like to configure it simular to "External Phone Number Mask" in CUCM where X is the wildcard. The idea being that if a user dials 911 while on a particular subnet (VPN Softphones for example), they outpulse their DID for callback purposes.
When I click on help, it says "The number can only contain numbers, single hyphens, dots, or parentheses", but doesn't explain the function. Are dots or hyphens wildcards?

No, you need to have specific ELINs. Even if you could enter wildcard it would not work well as how would CER/CUCM determine which ERL you are using?
You can build subnet based ERLs vs. switch port ERLs if preferred if that helps.
Remember the primary reason for ELIN is not callback, but rather static mapping in ALI database, so you would need to map all your numbers if you want to use actual phone numbers.  Callback should be the least of your worry, as CER will ring the actual phone that made 911 call upon ELIN callback for up to 3 hours, so the phones don't even have to have DIDs to receive a call back.

  • Employee Search In IC Web

    Hi All,
We are implementing the Employee IC Web client. When we are doing employee search with personnel number it's working fine, but when we are doing with employee first name or last name its not working properly. Some of the employees able to find, but most of the employees not able to find. All the employees have created with standard EMPLOYEE role only. Let me know the reason for this.
    regards
    Sreedhar

    Hi Sreedhar,
In general, there are many possible reasons for that kind of issue, including issues in the import, incorrect setup of the partner identification profile, etc. A simple troubleshooting step is to set a breakpoint and step through the search process. Often, I find some "check" that is done which bypasses the search I wanted to perform and indicates incorrect configuration somewhere. Occasionally, I find an SAP defect in the logic (not that often, but it does happen) in which case you can open an OSS message, and while waiting, enhance the component and correct it yourself (or get assistance from an ABAP resource).

  • Wild card searching in sql squery (pl/sql function body returning......)

    Hi,
I've a report based on a sql query (pl/sql function body returnin a sql query).
    One of the statements is
    select .. from ...
    where name_of_person = :P17_NAAM
I like to built a wild card possibility (with like '%l%m%') to show all persons with in their name an l, and an m (after the l)
    how to modify this statement?
    any reaction will be appreciated.
    Leo

    Leo,
If I understand you correctly, you want to let the user type the value without wild cards, and than to add them programmatically. If that's the case, here is what you can do:
    1. Create a new item, say P17_HIDDEN_NAAM, that will contain the actual search criteria
    2. Modify your pl/sql to:
    begin
      :p17_hidden_naam := null;
      for l_i in 1..length(:P17_NAAM)
      loop
        :p17_hidden_naam := :p17_hidden_naam || '%' || substr(:P17_NAAM, l_i, 1);
      end loop;
      :p17_hidden_naam := :p17_hidden_naam || '%';
      return
        'select ..
           from ...
          where name_of_person like :p17_hidden_naam';
end;By the way, I think that it's much better to train your users to use wild cards than to do it in the program.

  • Team= Personnel Developent= Employee Search

    Dear Experts.
    I have the following question:
What is the cause for that in the Manager Self Service =>Team=>Personnel Developent=>Employee Search
the portal not update(display) the information of the employee Direct Reports.?
    I made the following test:
    1) Chief with personnel number 10 assign in the infotype 0105 subtype 001 the user chief_mss and display the employee.
    2) Deallocate(delete) the register  of the infotype 0105 subtype 001 the user chief_mss for the personnel number 10 and assign  this user to the personnel number 20 that  also is chief and have other employees in his responsability.
However the system follow showing the same employees of the chief 10.
I check the t.code PPEM - for know that employee have a chief in responsability.
Anyone have an idea of What is the cause of this issue?
    Regards

'Employee Search' iView uses a caching functionality to store the
data that was retrieved from Organizational Management.
The validity of the cached data can be define via iView property 'Cache
Lifetime'. The default value is '1' that means that the data is valid
for one day (to improve the iView performance).
If you want to have a different behaviour, you could change this caching
parameter (e.g. set it to -1 to disable the caching at all).

  • Employee search in MSS has an issue

    Hi,

  • WILD CARD char in file Name

    Hi all,
I'm trying to use the wild card character "" in file name to read files from App server using open dataset st.If the file name is 2005stcjk.txt ,and if i use wild card like 2005.txt it should be able to pick that up.I tried and i'm not getting this to work.
Is ther anything i'm missing,i guess it's possible.any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Gopal.

You cannot do that. Open dataset works with only one file at a time and the filename and directory should be valid.
You can use EPS_GET_DIRECTORY_LISTING function module to get the list of files in a specific directory. You can then loop at that internal tables with file names, and do a READ DATASET on each of those files. Remember, this function module is used on the administrative side, so you need proper authorizations to use function module. Otherwise you will get a blank internal table. Also, you can do a search with wild card only with * at the end, not any other way.
    Hope this helps,
    Srinivas

  • Is It Possible To Create Different Personnel Number For One Employee

    HI Experts,
My Client need to get Different Personnel number for one employee,i.e for Trainee one Personnel number need to generate and same person when moving from Trainee to Probation another new personnel number should generate and again when same person move from Probation to Permanent another new personnel number should generate.
    1. How to generate 3 different Personnel number for One employee?
    2. How these 3 Personnel number should get linked, if want to get report for this one employee?
    Kindly help me.
    Thanks,
    Lavanya

    Hi Lavanya,
Your requirement can be fulfilled but not recommended...
As you want to generate different position number at different stage of employment....
i.e Trainee to Probation to Permanent...
First go for Trainee Position Hiring ....  and generate first Number Say 5000000
Then suppose employee complete training after 1 Yrs.. then again go PA 40 enter date as 01.01.2015 say... & execute... & give Ref. Personnel Number (5000000) & different position number... this time...
This will link up all the personnel date from previous hiring record... & as per your need you can modify it.... Finally one more number be generated....
Similarly,, you can do for Permanent employee...
Once training or Probation period gets completed you can lock/ separate that employee  number
    Report ...
You can get necessary details in IT0031...& with different Position numbers which you will using at different stage of hiring...
Hope this should sort your issue..

    Veeram
