Eliminating "same-plant" movements in Query Designer

Hi all,
We have extended the standard BC InfoCube (0IC_C03) to include the Issuing/Receiving Plant characteristic.
Now in our some of our queries we want to perform calculations like Total Receipt last 3 months per Plant, but we want to exclude "same-plant" movements (Plant=Iss/Rcv Plant) from these calculations, since this is not really incoming material.
Is it possible to do this in Query Designer? (without using Customer Exit and without modifying the InfoCube)

Dear all,
I need to create a delivery without reference for stock transfer within the same plant, movement 311, i.e. just from 1 storage location to another storage location.
I tried to use VL01NO with delivery type UL.
Now my question is how can I assign a receiving plant for a customer?
I can't do the MIGO or MB1B document because I need the delivery document (packing list, forms, Texts,...).
It's possible this option???

Hi,
What is the item category you are assigning while doing VL01NO? Check the schedule line category for that item category assignment. That Schedule line category has an option for one step GI. There you can assign 311 or create a separate item category and schedule line category and in that SC assign 311.

Movement type for tranfer posting with in same plant between two diff mater

Dear Experts,
We have the below requirement.
We have two material 61(bagged) & 62 in MT with in same plant with same valuation class.
We want to transfer 10 MT of Material 62 to Material 61 equivalent no of Bagged 10*20= 200 bags with in the same plant.
We are trying to do the same using 309 movement, but system is throwing error
"" Stockkeeping units MT and BAG differ
Message no. M7105
Diagnosis
The "receiving" material is not managed in the same stockkeeping unit as the "issuing" material. A transfer posting "material to material" is only possible if both materials are managed in the same stockkeeping unit.
Procedure
Enter a different material or terminate processing."

I am afraid I must confirm that your system is working as designed.
Transfer posting "material to material" is only possible if both
materials are managed in the same stock keeping unit (the term "stock
keeping unit" is a synonym for the term "base unit of measure").
For more information, please refer to the on-line documentation under
Transfer Posting and Stock Transfers:
"In order to carry out a transfer posting from material to material,
both materials must be managed in the same stock keeping unit."
Even though you have defined in MM01 an alternative unit of measure and
a conversion factor, the system will not consider this conversion
factor.
I am afraid that the only solution available for you to be able to
transfer from one matrial to another material, is to make the units
of measure the same, this is, both for either GR or CX.
But, please, take into account that changing the base unit of measure
is possible only under certain circumstances:
o if no stocks of the material exist in the system.
o if no purchase requisitions, purchase orders, or scheduling agreement
   exist for the material.
The error message M7 105 cannot be converted to "warning" through
customizing, because it is hardcoded in the program and the customizing
settings have no effect.

How to restrict for same char in Query designer

Hi Experts,
We have a requirement where we have to display the TRansfer amount
Where transfer from contract and transfer to contract
Sould not be equal.
Is there any way by which in query designer we can put condition on Chars.
Please suggest.

Hi,
As much I understood, you may create a replacement path variable on CHAR and convert the same in number/Key Figure.
You may put condition on this.

Query Designer: diferent selection for same key figure

Hi,
I have some queries that compare many key figures (Total sales, margins,...) between different periods for the same plant or between different plant for the same period or between different periods and plants. For do that I have 2 key figures for each concept (Total sales 1, Total sales 2, Margin 1, Margin 2,....) And two selection variable for each characteristic (plant 1, plant 2, period 1, period 2).
So I put a selection for "1 characteristics" for each "1 key figures" and a selection for "2 characteristics" for each "2 key figures". Simple but laborious.
My customer, than want to maintain queries himself, ask me for a more "smart" way to do that. Can anybody help me?

What i can suggest you is to make three new columns and respectively name then small team medium tam and big team.
For first column wirte a condiiton like (SPOC < 10 ) * 1
Second column condition (SPOC >10 AND SPOC < 30 )*1
Third column condition (SPOC >30 )*1
Make use of boolean operators to make these conditions.
SO whenever your conditions satisfies it will give 1 there in there respective columns and for rest it will be blank.
If your requirement is different then please sample output of your report.

Two structures on same axis in query designer

Hi,
I developed a query with two structures column axis in Bex query designer (in BI 7)
when I open this query in report designer is showing this error
" T<b>he Report Designer does not support this query drill down. Column axis may contain one structure only: remove any additional dimensions</b> "

sorry for the late reply, had a weekend break.
If a query (or query view) contain two structures and also one or
more characteristics then a dynamic section will be used. The dynamic
section will generate individual cells for each intersection of the two
structures, this means you will be able to re-position those cells freely.
<b>Also you cannot use a query or query view which contains more than one
structure in the columns.</b>
and you are having two structures in your columns, that is the reason you are getting the error message. It doesn't matter even if your query runs fine in WAD and Query designer, but your structure placements doesn't satisfy the Report Desinger specs.

Transfer pricing between the same plant

Our multimational client has desired, transfer pricing between the profit centres. The profit centres have been designed as a combination of product lines and plant. My first query is that whether it is possible to have Transfer pricing in the same plant, i.e. when the finished goods one material is moved & fed as raw material from one product line to another product line. How will the same be mapped in MM and PCA/ COPA??

Percentage calculation on query designer (7.0)

Hi experts,
I´m new on Query designer (7.0) and I´m trying to do a finnancial report, so for the lines I create and structure using G/L accounts and in the columns I got the amount for each level in my structure for a month. Now I´m trying to create an Integration percentage, it specifies how high the percentage in a level is in relation to next higher level but so far I couldn't make it...
My report must seem like this:
Structure.............................Amount ...... Int %
1. Assets................................1000 ....... 100%
1.1 Current assets.................... 600 ....... 60%    -> (600/1000)*100
- Cash............................. 300 ........ 50%    -> (300/600)*100
- Inventories..................... 300 ........ 50%    -> (300/600)*100
1.2 Long-term assets................ 400 ....... 40%    -> (400/1000)*100
- Property, plant and eq..... 150 ....... 37.5% -> (150/400)*100
- Investment property......... 150 ....... 37.5% -> (150/400)*100
- Intangible assets..............100 ....... 25%    -> (100/400)*100
I try to use each Percentage calculation options (%, %A, %CT,%GT, %RT) but it didn't work. Can anyone help me in creating a formula to get this percentage?

If, in a structure element (key figure ID), you use the 'Calculate Results as' and 'Calculate Single Value as' properties with their additional fields at the same time, priority problems occur and the system behavior is not immediately clear.:

Basic Difference in Query Designer

Hi All,
Can anybody let me know the difference between Characteristic Restriction and "Default Values" tabs under the Filter section in Query Designer.
I am able to restrict the same on both these tabs.I am able to use variables on both side even constants on both sides.

Here u define the characteristic filter values..........which apply to the entire resultset........This cannot be change.....
Suppose u restrict Plant .......to show within 1000 to 5000.............May be the actual Plant range is from 1000 to 8000...........But in the entire result on value for the Plant within range 1000 to 5000 will be displayed ........
Default Values
In this pane u define the characteristic filter values which should be used for the initial view of the result set..The user may choose to modify these filters in the result..........
Suppose you set default value for Plant 1000..........then the initial screen will only display data related to Plant 1000......

I have lot of Keyfigures in the Query Designer (Columns). How can i move some other place in the query designer.
Like We can move some of characteristics to "Free Charactersitic" area . Like that how can i move some of keyfigures to some other area.

You can have all KeyFigures together either in columns or Rows(in a structure)..not possible to seperate them...or place them in Free chars or Filters...and not possible to group Chars and Kfs in the same structure.

Restricting Query in Query Designer

Hi All,
I have to create new report on top of multiprovider which already as other reports on it.
The report should contain Plant, Billing Document number, Customer Group, customer group1, Ship to, Sold to, Invoice Amount.
All fileds are available in the multiprovider, all the Ship to numbers are different to Sold to numbers but texts are same for few records. So I need to excule those records where as Ship to texts are equal to Sold to texts.
Anyone know how to acheive this in Query designer level, where as I can't change anything in multiprovider because we have other queries on that.

You will have to write a customer exit for this. And logic for this would be : you will have to compare both Ship to texts and Sold to texts and you will have to pull only those records for which Ship to texts are equal to Sold to texts.
Once you got all the values of Ship to and Sold to for which they are equal (through Customer exit), you can create a variable and put it as a restriction for Sold to or Ship to.

Query Design (Variable & Dummy-Ouput)

i have two questions, its Analysis for Office 1.4.11.3353.
a) Is it possible to pass a variable (forced by a prompt) from one query to a second query?
Example: User starts Analysis for Office and is forced to enter a variable (e.g year 2012). Afterwards (after some macros and calculations) the user triggers a second query via a macro. And here, the query takes the variable of the first query (year 2012). So, if the user would have been entered the year 2018 at the very beginning, the second query would have taken the year 2018 too. I tried to use the replacement path option of the query designer, but it didn't work out.
b) How do I load a dummy structure (rows and colums) to AO ?
Example: I created a query with different query elements. Atm no transactional data are being loaded into the BW. Logically no data are loaded into my report and the workbook stays empty. But i need the basis structure of the report (coums, rows) in my workbook. Is is it possibly to fill the report (or query) with zeros or dump values by changing the query?

1) I guess I wasn't sure if some of the settings could be applied in AO. It seems that it is not the case.
2) Just to clarify: There are two queries within the workbook. The first query get triggered by macro. By triggering the query a prompt will show up and force the user to enter a certain year.
Thereby, the prompt could be used next year again because its kind of dynamic. That's the goal.
At a later step the user has to trigger another query. This query should use exactly the same year (or entered variable) as the first query. But without forcing a (visible) prompt (variable selection) again. So it should be dynamic regarding the time too.
For that reason I looking for a way to transfer the entered variable from the first query to the second query automatically.

5) Another question concerning formulas and selctions came up:
Actually I'm mapping certain movement types to different accounts. I simply used a "New Selection" to combine the needed account and the movement type.
Right now,I need to combine several movement types with ONE account. In fact I need to calculate the balance of the desired account. From my point of view I need to make a "New Selection" for every movement type.
Exampe:
Selection 1: Account A, Movement Type A
Selection 2: Account A, Movement Type B
Selection 3: Account A, Movement Type C
Formula 1 (for the account balance): Selection 1 + Selection 2 + Selection 3
This seems to be very complicated, especially if you use more than 3 movement types because you need to create a lot of selections.
Is there a smarter way like doing the calculation/summation within a selection?

Error while trying to Open and Delete a BEx Query in Query Designer.

Hi Experts,
I have been facing this issue with BEx Query in Designer mode for a couple of days now in Development Environment in BI 7.0.
I would like to Delete an unwanted BEx Query because I need to give it's name to another BEx Query.
Whenever I try to Open this Query in BEx Query Designer to Delete, it gives out an error saying:
"An error occurred while communicating with the BI server.
As a result of this error, the system has been
disconnected from the BI server.
Detailed Description:
STOP: Program error is class SAPMSSY1 method : UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION
STOP: System eror in program CL_RSR and form GET_CHANMID-01 - (see long text)"

Diagnosis
This internal error is an intended termination resulting from a program state that is not permitted.
Procedure
Analyze the situation and inform SAP.
If the termination occurred when you executed a query or Web template, or during interaction in the planning modeler, and if you can reproduce this termination, record a trace (transaction RSTT).
For more information about recording a trace, see the documentation for the trace tool environment as well as SAP Note 899572.
I have tried with SAP Note 899572, but still it's the same.
Has anyone faced similar issue? Could you please let me know if you have better ideas or solution?

Exception in BEX Query Designer 7.10 when restricting dataprovider in filte

Hello,
when I build a query in the Query Designer 7.10 and try to restrict the infoprovider in the filter
to access a mulitprovider I get the exception:
"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application.....
Index was out of range........"
Our System:
Windows XP Servicepack 2
.Net 2.0 Serivcepack 1
Office 2003
SAP GUI 7.10 Patchlevel 9
BI Addon + Serivcepack 7
BW 3.5 Addon + Servicepack 4
Netweaver 7.00 packagelevel 11
Has anybody seen the same erro or a oss note which fixes this problem?

Hi,
I have not encountered this problem in the last days. We have made an upgrade
in the support package level from 11 to 16 for Netweaver Basis and 12 to 18 for
Netweaver BI. Sometimes there can arise problems when the support package level
of the Application Server is to low in comparision to the SAP GUI.
Maybe this was the problem. I am not sure.
I would advise you to install the latest upgrades of your SAP GUI and keep the application
server on a high support package level.
