"Else" error
Good Morning,
I have been doing if/else if scripting scripting on a form and it was working pretty well. I then had a scenario where multiple fields had to appear or not and I set them up the same way as I had in other ones and they won't work. I get an error saying I've used "else" incorrectly I've tried with field names and with subforms. Any suggestions on what I can do to correct it? I've uploaded a file with two examples of what I'm trying to do, the first uses the subforms in the script and the second uses the fields.
Thanks!

I just discovered one problem. If I select Yes and then select No because I changed my mind the options for Yes stay visibile. Ther reverse is also true. If I select Select One everything goes away like it should. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Good Morning
This code compiles fine:

(ID, ITEM_NO, CHGNBR, UI, SUPPLYACTIONCODE, QTY, ACCT, RECEIPTDATE, REQUISITIONDATE, PROCESSDATE)
VALUES

no_stock_rec.acct, sysdate, sysdate, sysdate);
ELSE
dbms_output.put_line ('Else ' );
END IF;
However when I add an elseif I get the following error. Thanks for your help. :

I am trying to set up a form in flash that will email the
entered data in the fields. I have the email part functioning
correctly. My problem is getting the error message when the user
does not fill in a field.
Here is my code on my submit button:
on (release) {
if (txtName ne "" && txtFrom ne "" &&
txtMessage ne "") {
loadVariablesNum("cdontsMail.asp", 0, "POST");
gotoAndPlay("valid");
} else {
gotoAndPlay("invalid");
If I type in a 1 or any character between the quotes, it
realized that and sends an error. For instance, if I coded : if
(txtName ne "1"... and typed in a 1 in the txtName field, it would
come back as invalid. For some reason, it doesn't realize "" to
mean an empty field. What am I doing wrong here????
DaveI am working in FlashMX 2004, so I'm not sure if that has
this option. But here's the code I added:
on (release) {
trace(txtName+" "+txtName.length);
if (txtName != "" && txtFrom != "" &&
txtMessage != "") {
loadVariablesNum("cdontsMail.asp", 0, "POST");
gotoAndPlay("invalid");
} else {
gotoAndPlay("valid");
When I play the file and hit submit without entering
anything, it gives me this:
_level0.txtName 0

}Get into the habit of always using braces around if's and loops. Consider the following.
if(condition)
firstLine;
else
anotherLine;Then later you need to change to code.
if(condition)
firstLine;
secondLine; //always executed
else // error else without if
anotherLine;By not using braces in the first place can lead to errors if you forget to include then when the code changes. -

File not found error on some computers running the same program
Dim pList As System.Diagnostics.Process
retval = 0
PTRName = "F:\myprogram.exe"
If My.Computer.FileSystem.FileExists(PTRName) Then
System.Disgnostics.Process.Start(PTRName)
pList = System.Diagnostics.Process.GetProcesses

End If
Next
If retval > 0 then

I have created a program which:
opens a file
reads the records and massages the records
writes the records to a new file
Launches a program that uses the resultant file.
The program was written on Windows xp MCE using Visual Studio 10. The resulting program works fine.
I places The executable and the input file onto a flashdrive, and then tested it on other machines.
Two of the machines are both Win 7 Pro 64bit with .Net 4. On one machine it works great. On the other I get a "File not found" error when starting the second process. This is the failing code:
The problem is with the Shell command. When I rewrite it as:
it works on both machines
So my question is: Why does exactly the same code (The same flashdrive was used on both machines) work on one machine and not the other (when both machenes appear to be at the same level)?
In both cases I verify the file exists in the correct place before I try to start it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
JohnThe use of F is just an example. I use:
OutputPath = My.Application.Info.DirectoryPath 'Where app is run from (root)
'Make sure the path ends in \
If VB.Right(OutputPath, 1) <> "\" Then
OutputPath = OutputPath & "\"
End If
to get the correct information.
Then
PTRName = OutputPath & "myprogram.exe"
BTW "myprogram.exe" is not the correct name it is just an example.
Sorry if this caused confusion
However all of this is not the point. If:
My.Computer.FileSystem.FileExists(PTRName)
is true then the file is in the right place. Therefore:
Retval = Shell(PTRName,4)
must also work. However it does not on some machines.
Is the problem in .Net, VB or VS because it is not in my code.
I have also used a routine similar to you (in VB6) to find a particular volume, but used the volume label. That worked better in my case.

Error while inserting into ms access using jsp
i am using the following code to insert values from textboxes into access database
try
Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
con = DriverManager.getConnection(url);

//ResultSet rs = null;
//String sql = ("INSERT INTO co-ords VALUES ('" + nam + "','" + lat + "','" + lon + "','"+ latm +"','"+ lonm +"','"+ latmd +"','"+ lonmd +"','"+ latms +"','"+ lonms +"') ");

Error when saving custom Datasource on R/3
Hi,
I'm creating a transaction datasource using Extraction by Function Module.
I've created & activated the required extract struct (using Tcode: SE11) and the function module.
However after populating these 2 fields in the datasource screen, when i try to save the DS. I get the following error.
Error message : Units field MEINS for field GWERT of DataSource Z_PURCH_SMI_DATA is hidden
Here GWERT is the field of the structure used in DS definition and in it's property i've mentioned MARA.MEINS as reference fields (it is obligatory else error when activating structure).
The structure got activated successfully, but is giving problem in Datasource.
Fyi, similar message is appearing for other fields of the structure.
Any input would be appreciated.
Regards,
Nagendra.Hi there,
In SE11 where you are creating View or table for Datasource, Just add MEINS field in that as new entry
and for field GWERT in reference fields table, give this MEINS field and reference table should be same table/ View name where you are adding this field.

Rajdeep Rane. -
Hello,
I'm generating a webservice from pl/sql package which returns a collection.
JDeveloper generates wrapper pl/sql which gives errors when executed in the database because it consists of code like:
PROCEDURE "NAME"$PROC_NAME_A
The " creates database errors. When i remove these " the packages compiles.
But when i insert the service based upon this procedure, I get an "PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "$" when expecting something else" error.This looks like the same code is inserted again.
Anyon an idea to get rid of these problems?
Regards,
Ruben SpekleI'm having the same problem. Did anyone ever help you, or have you resolved this yet?

I am running Windows 7 64 bit.
This HORROR began because I realized that my phone had suddenly lost all of the music except music that had been purchased. It also lost all purchased iBooks as well as audible books downloaded from audible and ringtones that I had purchased from iTunes.
I then thought that it would be fine once I connected to itunes on my computer. I connected to itunes and it said that there was an update available so I downloaded and installed 10.7.
I tried to run the program and got Error 7 (Windows error 5) message.
I then found several discussion questions that seemed similar to mine and I think that I tried them all. Removed everything apple and reinstalled iTunes. I followed the instructions and removed everything in the order that was listed, some I had to change security to own the file before I could delete them. I did all of the steps, (maybe I deleted too many apples items ??) emptied the recycling bin, restarted and reinstalled. I also tried the Net framework fix, used the ms fixit (the one with the picture of the man on it) and I think a few other things that I have found on this site as well as MS site. I restarted my computer every time.
The latest thing that I tried was to download 10.63 since I don't care about the new stuff. After all of this I sometimes get and message saying that I am missing AVFoundationCF.dll file and once it said something about Itunes Helper (when these two messages appear, it is separate from the error messages which occur after clicking ok on them) before getting the Error 7 (windows error 5) or else Error 7 (Windows error 126).
PLEASE HELP!Follow the instructions on this link, basically un-install everything, remove programs that says they are made by apple inc. (using add remove program)
http://www.reimageplus.com/fix-windows-127-error/ (Many thanks to reimageplus.com)
You will also need to check and verify that the following folders have been removed:
C:\Program Files\Bonjour
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple
C:\Program Files\iTunes
C:\Program Files\iPod
C:\Program Files\QuickTime
C:\Windows\System32\QuickTime
C:\Windows\System32\QuickTimeVR
dont forget to remove icloud also
you dont need to delete your itune music library though
If any of these folders still exist, delete them along with their contents. (if you cant delete them, right click and go to properties and then security and change the control of the fold to you)
do this for files under program files and program file (x86) on your computer
once you have deleted everything, restart your computer. Then I repaired my registry using a registry repair program.
Important:- instead of installing itunes I installed quick time, which installs apple application support (this is the corrupt file which is causing all the issues)
i then installed itunes and it all worked fine,
should take no longer than half hour to fix
hope this helps -

Error reading from base station?
I installed the airport extreme disk on my Dell pc(hoping to connect with cable modem) & the airport utility claims to have found a base station faa0c9, and IP address 169.254.72.207 (i didn't enter any of this information) but it will not 'continue' claiming error code 6753 an error occured while trying to access the base station make sure your network connection is valid and try again.
i'm pretty sure my network connection is failed since i'm able to access the internet...
help!I have a similar problem, I have reset everything, haven't tried changing the i.p. on the computer. If I have to do this everytime I listen to music, I think this is going to get returned, because it needs to be set to a particular I.P. to use DSL. Anyway, all I get is amber. I can see the base station in the admin program, but I can't do anything else (error reading from base station). If I turn on Wireless Zero Configuration like it suggests, then I can't see anything at all. If plug in via ethernet cables, I can't see anything at all. I've used a cross-over, a regular cable and used a switch to make sure there isn't cross-over issue but all I get it is flashing amber. Is it possible that the unit is just defective? Should I just return it and burn CD's? Sounds like there are a lot of issues with this, not to mention how I can use this and DSL with the same I.P. Anybody else had problems with ethernet?
Thanks -
Airtunes speakers "being used by someone else"
Hello. I have an Airport Extreme running a WDS, and an Airport Express as a remote basestation on that network. Everything works fine, except that, as of last week, choosing the Express' remote speakers in iTunes results in the message that they are "being used by someone else."
I have tried everything I have read in the forum, to no avail. My firmware is up to date. I have the latest iTunes (6.0.1). I'm running 10.4.2. I have set the Express back to factory default, and set it up again fresh. I have renamed the Airtunes speakers. Nothing does any good.
The story is this: a couple of weeks ago, our receiver blew out, and we took our system apart for repair. At that time, Airtunes was working perfectly. We got the receiver back, fixed, and reinstalled everything this past weekend. Airtunes gives me this error now. We have a TiVo Series 2 box plugged in to the Ethernet port of the Express, and it is networking fine. I have not installed the TiVo Desktop software, so my Mac running iTunes should not be confused about where it is sending audio.
My only thought is this: Airtunes settings include the checkbox to enable Airtunes over Ethernet. This choice, while enabled, is also grayed out, so I can't turn it off (I'm told this is part of the WDS or something?) Could the Express be confused, with something plugged into the Ethernet port, thinking that this is using the speaker setup?
I tried running iTunes with the TiVo unhooked from the Ethernet port, in fact, I tried it right after factory resetting the Express (I never plugged the Ethernet jack in) but it still gave me the "being used by someone else" error.
Can anyone help?
Thank you,
Danny.Henry,
Well, I am glad to hear that it isn't the settings, nor the TiVo plugged in. But that does leave me in a state of limbo, eh? To reiterate, I have restarted the iTunes running Mac (we also have an iBook, but it has been shut down for all these tests), and I did factory reset the Express.
Would it help to factory reset the Extreme? I wouldn't think so, it having nothing to do with Airtunes... but I'll try anything.
I've seen in other threads that iTunes 5 appeared to produce this effect for some people... (though the majority of them were streaming fine and then would suddenly lose their speakers, whereas mine never make an initial connection...) could it be that iTunes 6 and 6.0.1 are doing it to me? There was no posted resolution for those other people, so I don't know if they had their issue solved.
Still tuneless,
Danny. -
Weird! error handling not functioning
hi all
we have method A:
public int issueItemWorkOrder( String sWORKON ) throws SQLException, Exception {calling method B:
public float getQtyAvailable( String sITEM ) throws SQLException, Exception {method B raises an exception that is not being caught by method A. Any ideas?
code below
thanks for any help
public float getQtyAvailable( String sITEM ) throws SQLException, Exception {
// --------->sintax error on purpose
fQtyAvailable = rs.getFloat( "QTYSTK" ) - rs.getFloat( "QTYMIN" );
else {
fQtyAvailable = 0;
catch( SQLException sqle ) { // this error is raised
error = "SQLException: get quantity available failed possible record does not exist. ";
error += sqle.toString();
throw new SQLException( error );
catch( Exception e ) { // this error is raised
error = "An exception occured while getting quantity available record. ";
error += e.toString();
throw new Exception( error );
finally {
return fQtyAvailable;
else {
error = "Exception: Connection to database was lost while checking item work order. ";
throw new Exception( error );
public int issueItemWorkOrder( String sWORKON ) throws SQLException, Exception {
// ------->calling fQtyAvailable should raise an error
fQtyAvailable = getQtyAvailable( sITEMWORKORDER );
// --------> it not being caught, why????
catch( SQLException sqle ) {
error = "SQLException: issue item work order failed, possible record does not exist. ";
error += sqle.toString();
throw new SQLException( error );
catch( Exception e ) {
error = "An exception occured while issueing item work order record. ";
error += e.toString();
throw new Exception( error );
finally {
return iRowCount;
else {
error = "Exception: Connection to database was lost.";
throw new Exception( error );
}thanks rmorlok
I have read few books and could not find an explanation why having a "return statement inside the finally clause of a method which raises an exception" blocks the propagation of exceptions?
eg.
method issueItemWorkOrder calls method getQtyAvailable
1) The code below works fine, since we haven't got any return statement in the finally clause;
2) However, if we add a return statement inside the finally clause of getQtyAvailable, when an exception occurs inside getQtyAvailable, the exception does not propagate to issueItemWorkOrder, and the code inside issueItemWorkOrder continues normally, which is NOT CORRECT.
Any explanation why the return statement blocks the propagation of exceptions??
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
cheers

I created a web service in which, i am calling a procedure from oracle apps.
I am passing 3 values to procedure and getting one as a flag (Y or N) and other is null.
So while handling null value i am getting error as :

cst.registerOutParameter(5,Types.VARCHAR);
cst.execute();
error.add(cst.getString(4));
String error_handle=cst.getString(5);
