Email accounts disconnected

Hi
I have my main account and did have 2 sub accounts for my wife and daughter.
These now seem to be disconnected ! My sub accounts have moved to BT Mail, and my main account is still with BT Yahoo and I can no longer manage these sub accounts ! Although I can log in and check their emails after a lot of faffing around !
How can I get this sorted ?
Regards
Dave.

That sounds like a bit of a nightmare - to have the primary with BYahoo,  and the sub accounts migrated.
To manage/access BTMail by webmail you need to have what BT call a "MYBT ID" and that has to be verified (I think) as a "Primary ID".
If you already have a BTID which gives you access to your billing and broadband details, then I would suggest going through the Edit Account process to make it a verified Primary ID. It requires the username to be an email address. At the moment you can use any password, and mine is different from the email password. I'm not sure if BT will allow that on migration - still trying to find out.
You MIGHT then find that you can login to the BT pages, using your MyBT BTID and then manage the BTMail sub accounts with it, using the "Manage BT Mail on the BT Mail Tile" (see the help link below for that phrase - point numbered 2). Ignore the rest of the steps, just see if you can "manage" those sub accounts as described.
If it fails, you will see this message:
"Warning
Sorry, we're unable to find a BT Mailbox linked with your account. If you are able, please try and log directly into your mailbox."
which is what I get, because none of my accounts have been migrated yet so I have to login via a yahoo login page.
But if you are lucky you might see a dropdown with those 2 sub accounts on it, which will then take you to the BTMail web interface.
Sorry to be vague but I'm in the middle of a tussle with BT trying to get straight answers to this very question, and it is proving difficult.
See these pages for what BT call "help".
https://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/48771/c/346,6769,7012
I've not been migrated so can't tell you much more. I honestly don't think BT have thought this through and I have a strong suspicion they don't know the answers to the sort of situation you are in.
You should still be able to access ALL the accounts with pop3/smtp or IMAP as these don't involve webmail login or BTID details. (but you have to have enabled the new pop3/smtp settings for SSL and the specific port numbers etc. as described in the help pages. Search help for pop3/smtp and imap settings to get those details.
If you find out the answer, let me know!!! Best of luck.

  • I disconnected an email account from my iPhone 4- no longer receive the emails from that account on the phone BUT the address still appears on some outgoing emails?  How can I stop that from happening?

I have not upgrade to iOS7. I've deleted an email account (gmail incase it makes a difference).  The problem is that the ADDRESS still sometimes used despit the deletion.  Now, one of the reasons I deleted it was that this address would "override" the address I was trying to actually send from even if I manually selected the other address.  How do I get this completely disconnected from the phone without replacing the phone??

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I had connected my yahoo email account with my apple email and now wish to disconnect this link. How do I do this?

Open Mail preferences and delete the account. This only removes it from the Mail app and doesn't close out the service.

    Hi everyone,
Please can someone provide me with a fix for the latest annoyance I've discovered on my Q10.
Whenever I enter the wifi area at work, all my email accounts are taken off line. The network is NOT one of my saved networks, so I can't simply delete it. The Q10 connects to my home wifi fine.
If anyone can tell me how to fix this I will be very grateful. As a Blackberry user of many years the Q10 is a huge disappointment (too many swipes, clicks and "gestures" to do stuff I used to be able to do with far fewer on my Bold). I really want to love this phone but unfortunately it just annoys me.

I had the same issue. Problem for me was that the wireless network did block some outgoing ports that are needed to send and receive emails (e.g. 25, 143, 465, 587, 993 etc).
You can either ask the administrator of the wireless network to open up those ports, or you can disable your company WiFi in your settings.
To do that, manually create a WiFi connection with exactly the name (SSID) of your company's WiFi. Then disable this WiFi connection. It will not connect to it again.

  • After installing Mavericks on my iMac, Apple Mail would not sync with my Google Apps email account.  Now Mail crashes every time I open it.  What's up?

After installing Mavericks on an imac, Mail would not sync with my Google Apps email account.  After I clicked on All Mail the program crashed and now it crashes every time I open Mail.  Does anyone have an suggestions?

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

  • Outlook 2013 with exchange online account disconnected, tryin to connect for hours or indefinitely

I posted this in another forum (office 365) and was told to copy it here as it wasn't an office 365 issue so here is what I posted there:
    ===================================
Let me see if I can clarify better. This issue has been ongoing as long as I have worked for this client (I started in January but have been told the issue has been going on since before November of last year). The client has multiple construction sites
and its headquarters. There is a remote desktop server setup with a public IP address for the users "in the field" for accessing network resources at headquarters. At major construction sites (currently 3) they have high speed internet service installed
since the projects typically are 1+ years to complete. So at current times we have the following:
    Main office:
Remote Desktop Server with logins for all employees
    Main 2012R2 server
50MB/s internet connection via CenturyLink ISP
    Site 1:
3 main users of computers. 1 constant user, 2 minimal use users. All 3 have experience the issue 3+ times a week
    Comcast 50MB/S ISP
    Site 2:
3 Main users of computers. 1 constant, 2 medium use users. All 3 experience the issue 3+ times a week
    Comcast 50MB/s ISP
    Site 3:
4+ computer users. 1 constant, 2 medium use users and the rest check email couple times a day. They also experience the disconnect issue 3+ times a week
15 MB/S DSL from CenturyLink ISP
There have been instances where (as examples) user 1a called me to tell me it was happening. Users 1b and 1c were not experiencing the issue. I was able to use a remote tool called Teamviewer to connect to her computer. Once connected I tried to open OWA
but it would not connect. I tried to ping the site and could not get a response. To verify I remoted into user 1b computer and his outlook was still connected and pinged fine. Both users being at the same site are on the same network. Had user 1a remote desktop
into the RDserver at the main office. Remoted into the server at the office her outlook on that machine connected no issues (in my mind rules out account issue?).
I don't believe it is network related due to the other computers working fine and being able to connect to her computer indicated to me that her NIC was fine. I don't think it was her account because it worked fine from the RD Server plus email service to
iPads/iPhones continue to work without issue. Once the computer is rebooted everything works fine for a while (could be hours, could be days).
Now to answer the questions for you:
    1. it happens to all computers not at the main office but happens at random times to them. It also does not affect every computer at a remote location. It could be 1 or it could be multiple computers at the same time.
    2. Affected users iPhones, iPads and outlook 2013 pro session on the RD Server at the main office continue to work no issues.
    3. They cannot get to OWA on their machines when in that state, however can log into OWA on another machine plus the answer to #2 above.
    4. It is all users at those locations, however I have experienced it myself at my house 1 time since January (I have a different exchange online plan/company than the one I am discussing in this post). The issue is random and it is uncertain if it will correct
itself if left sitting long enough (longest time it has been left is about 20 minutes or so) however even 20 minutes is a long time to wait for the service to return so users just reboot.
Please let me know If you have any solutions/ideas.
    Thanks,
    Brandon Smith

    ====================================
    Hi Branon,
    Thanks for your detailed information.
After going your post carefully, I am impressed by your strong technical skills. Regarding “I don't believe it is network related due to the other computers working fine and being able to connect to her computer indicated to me that her NIC was
fine. I don't think it was her account because it worked fine from the RD Server plus email service to iPads/iPhones continue to work without issue. Once the computer is rebooted everything works fine for a while (could be hours, could be days)” ,
I go along with you. Since the affected account could connect to other clients without issue , it indicates Office 365 account is no problem. And other computer were working fine and can connect to her computer, it shows the network environment does not cause
the issue. In this situation, the issue should relate to the specific Outlook Client. However this forum mainly focuses on Office 365 online services, to get more accurate responses, it’s suggested that you raise the problem in the Outlook forum. If they got
any result and you need further assistance from Office 365 side, please feel free to let us know.
In addition, about “I have had the users try to use OWA when it gets disconnected but they cannot get to that URL either. IE comes up with page not found”, I’d like to collect some information:
    1. Does the issue only happen to IE? Have you tried logging in other browsers using the OWA address (like Chrome or Firefox)? Does it work?
    2. Does only this user have the issue? Does it happen to other users?
    3. Which version of Internet Explorer browser does the user use?
    4. Could you provide us with the whole screenshot of the error message? You can post screenshots in our forum by clicking Use rich formatting and selecting the Insert Image icon.
Also, please try the following steps for troubleshooting:
    a. Clear the IE caches and cookies when you log into Office 365 again.
    b. Use the InPrivate Browsing of Internet Explorer to login.
    c. Reset Internet Explorer’s settings, and try again.
    d. Try to login in another network environment.
If there is any update, please let us know. I ’ll keep on monitoring this thread.
    Best regards,
    Jamie
    ===============================
As of today we still randomly experience this disconnect issue. Just today I had my test user call me to say she was disconnected. She is in location 2 where I have a test laptop also setup with her logged in. When she called I had her check the test laptop
and the outlook profile on that machine (same network) was still connected while her computer was not connected. I had her run the online analyzer tool on her machine (the one that would not connect) which ran for almost 2 hours. The tool finished right at
the same time that her outlook finally connected back to the server.
If anyone has any ideas/solutions please let me know.
    Thanks in advance,
    Brandon Smith

Oddly enough my computer is right at this moment in this same disconnected state. Outlook shows an exclamation point in a yellow triangle. Its state is disconnected. If I go to portal.office.com I get to the login page but get page can't be displayed after
entering my credentials. I tried using google and found this for login
https://outlook.office365.com/owa/ it too times out and can't be displayed.
if I try and ping these sites I get:

  • Having trouble removing a student email account from the Windows Mail App because the school has started using office 365 for thier email which i dont have access to

I was wondering if anybody has any ideas on how to remove a gmail account that was set up by a community college for use on their mail servers and then find out that after awhile they have locked you out because they have started using office 365 for their
emails and you are left with a student email account that you have no idea how to delete because you have missied out on deleting it before they changed to a different email provider?
Anybody with ideas please help because I don't know what to do

    Hi,
Regarding to Windows Mail App, do you mean the Modern UI App in Windows 8.1? Do you mean that you want to remove the email account from Mial App? Generally, we can simply remove the account by the "Account" option in Mail App (Open Mail App, move
the mouse the right chram bar, click Account, then click the mail account\Remove account), but if the email acocunt is tied with the Microsoft Account which is used on the pc, in that case, it is unavailable to remove the email account, you need to contact
your college to disconnect the Microsoft Account.
If I'm misunderstanding something, please free correct me.
    Regards

  • Thunderbird-- outlook email account spinning beach ball

TB has been working well. 4 email accounts. Three all OK .Have an outlook email address as one mail account. Yesterday sent an email with 2 small attachments. This seemed to hang but the mail did go. Ever since when i move to any folder on this account (inbox, send ,drafts) I get a spinning beach ball for 10-30 seconds. Longer for the sent folder. I also get occasional server may have disconnected messages (have never seen this before) Tried starting without add ons - no change Tried deleting account and adding it again- no change . The other 3 email accounts are fine.
    attached the error console
    any help would be appreciated
    many thanks

Many thanks for the suggestions. I have compacted the folders and turned off copies in sent folder. I still have the same problem although moving between folders is perhaps slightly quicker...mostly still get the spinning beachball for 5-20 seconds ... I haven't seen the outlook server disconnected pop up for a couple days though which is an improvement

  • How to set up additional mac email account?

If I have a mac email address already established, can I set up more than one on my iMac?  Seems like the answer is yes, but attempts this morning only bollixed my Mac mail account.

Keep trying that but it crashes. Obviously the 2nd account I tried to set up is creating a disconnect.  Answer my basic question first.  If I already have a mac /icloud email account established long ago, can I add/establish another mac email account, or do you just get one?

  • Outlook email account

my coworker has a blackberry and wants to use it for checking work email.
    heres the info:
    #1 we use exchange 07
#2 we dont have blackberry enterprise server
Now I already know he cant sync his blackberry with our server to sync things like conacts, calendars, etc. we already have a workaround for that.
My question is: is there a way to connect his blackberry to simply check his email account for our work?
He said he did it before but he cant remember how he set it up and he accidentally deleted the account
I went into his phone and tried to add the account myself but there is only a spot to add an "other" email account and the only info you can put in is the email address and password.
Isn't there some place to put the domain, and mail server and all that jazz?
Someone please let me know if it's even possible to set this up (if not then blackberrys have my vote for the worste business phone in america (although I am probably just an **bleep** and not seeing it).
    Thanks for your help.

  • HT201320 I just update to iOS 7 and can't get separate email accounts

I just updated to iOS 7 on my iPhone and can no longer see my three separate email accounts.  The only thing that comes up is All Mail which merges my three accounts.  Anybody else having this problem?

I've had a simialr problem - but no love with the reset. I have also stopped itunes from syncing and then re-synced the accounts with no success - they all seem to be gone.
When I open the mail app it prompts me to add accounts but as I try to add them it says they are already there and indeed I can see them in settings but there seems to have been a disconnect somewhere when updating to ios7.

  • Terminating my iCloud email account

I have used a @me.com email account as my primary email account for years. Recently, the amount of spam I'm receiving has become intolerable. That, and I'm not a big fan of the collusion between the major cloud service providers in the US and our government. I'm a web developer and own several domains/sites (hosted on German servers where the internet privacy laws are more protective), so... I can create self-hosted email accounts to use, and I'm going to do that.
    My questions are:
Is there a way to terminate my @me.com account so that when someone sends to it, the messages bounce? I'm sure I won't be able to notify everyone and I don't want someone to send a message to this defunct address and think I received it.
Because this @me.com address is also my Apple ID, will terminating this email account interfere with using all of the other services iCloud provides (syncing between devices, my Apple TV logins, etc...)?
If I can terminate this email account without it interfering with my Apple ID, how do I do this? Removing the account from my Mail program on all my various devices will just disconnect me from said account. The account would still remain live, correct?
    Thanks in advance,
    Bill

You cannot get rid of your me.com address without also getting rid of your Apple ID, and your Apple ID is tied to all your App Store and iTunes purchases and your iCloud data.
Also, note that Apple is not "in collusion" with the government. They are not giving your data to anyone without a legal warrant. They are one of the only companies out there to release a transparency report containing a "warrant canary," so that users can be warned if the government ever forces Apple to hand over data under a gag order:
    https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2013/11/apples-first-transparency-report-gets-warr ant-canaries-right
Apple has shown every indication that they are protecting their users' privacy.
Finally, regarding the spam, that's simply a part of life these days. You'll never get away from it entirely. Manage it by using the spam filter in Mail... or if that one isn't adequate, try a third-party spam filter, like SpamSieve.
