Email html Newsletter

sorry if this is a rong post but don't know where to post it. Does anybody know what application and how to create an email html newsletter on leopard?

I've not used these programs, so this isn't a recommendation, just a suggestion for you to look into:

  • Email HTML newsletter using a MAc, iweb? Pages? or ????

    Really need some assistance.
    I need to design a HTML newsletter. I've set one up in Pages, however when I save to html the format scrambles.
    If I transfer this to PDF or a Jpeg I lose the ability for my readers to click on the hyperlnks to direct them to my website
    so I need to use a tool that is as easy to use.
    I've tryed iweb, but when I come to use it in the email editor again the pictures disappear or take an age when I try sending, to the degree that I need to cancel the transfer.
    How can i create the html email and send it without losing the formatting.

    Having pained over this myself, the program is that, you need to use ABSOLUTE LINKS in your HTML code, not RELATIVE. RELATIVE is what iweb is generating, so you actually have to hand code it so the links to images and such point to the ABSOLUTE link. So, instead of, say, an image linking to just: /myprojectfiles/images/test.png, it would need to read http://www.mydomain.com/images.test.png.
    It will work if you change your links like that. I just created a page in iweb, and saw that there are about 6 image files, so all those 6 would need to be changed to ABSOLUTE links. I sent it off without touching it, via the Safari Mail Contents of This Page feature, from Apple Mail. Sure enough, no images were displayed. This implies something important: you have to have your files loaded to a server for it to work. That is to say, if you want your HTML emails to display all images, which is essentially the bread and butter of webpages, you need to do 2 things: 1. Load files to server 2. Change all image links to their ABSOLUTE location.

  • How do you email a newsletter created in Pages?

    I created a 2 page newsletter in pages for my small business and I want to email the newsletter to my contact list. How do I do this?

    Here is a solution:
    Make sure it is really only one page...
    1. Take a PNG screenshot of the entire page (make sure it is enlarged to a decent size).
    2. Upload the screenshot somewhere on the web (i.e. to flickr, or to your personal/business web server in say, an "images" folder) and copy the url address of the image address
    3. Open TexEdit to create an HTML document. Insert the following code and fill in your information where the caps are:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" />
    <title>YOUR BUSINESS NAME HERE</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <map name="Map" id="Map"><area shape="rect" coords="4,79,202,129" href="http://YOURCOMPANYURL" />
    </map>
    </body>
    </html>
    5. Now, once all filled in, save the document and then change the extension of the TextEdit document to HTML.
    6. Open it with Safari and you should see your full page newsletter/ad. Go to Safari>File>Mail Contents of this Page... you will then be able to email your newsletter/ad as a webpage via email. Anyone who can view html messages will likely see your webpage: because it is a picture, you won't have any problems with it not displaying properly on other people's computers.
    You can also try a program called Mailings. It makes it fairly easy to create and send HTML emails: make sure you have screenshots uploaded to the web of your newsletter/ad.

  • How to send html newsletter via Mail app

    I want crystal and clear instruction as all the ones I have found either old fashioned and not relevant or skip that interesting part.
    I have already done html page (newsletter). Now I want to transform it somehow and send via Mail app so my contacts could receive it as html newsletter. If I need to attach txt message please add it to the instruction. I need complete how to send html newsletter.

    thanks. Now we've got to the most interesting part and intriguing one. Why should I upload html page to the server. I do understand uploading the images to server which will be used as links in my html mail. But why and how should I store that page in my server if I have CMS post instead from which I used pictures as links. SHould I create yet another type of post in CMS that is my html newsletter? That's not cool. What is the industry standard approach for that?
    By the way Mail.app uses that baby design templates for your messages. Why don't we have an option to delete all these creepy childish templates and store solid bold corporate style templates for newsletters and send it somehow? Or will it just attach the images to the message then? If so then it is not what I want and it is really depressing.
    The industry convention/"standard" is not to use html in email. Wheteher or not your html newsletter displays as you intended is at the mercy of the recipient and their email client settings.
    If you want to preserve your html layout and styles, save your newsletter as a pdf document and attach the pdf document to your email. Or, as already suggested, use a web server to serve your html newsletter.

  • MSOutlook HTML newsletter issues - large gaps between large images and small gaps...

    Please can you help me!
    Searched the web & found plently of advice but still getting formatting display issue when viewing HTML newsletter in MS Outlook.
    Fully aware on the basics regarding the multiple issues when creating HTML newsletters but this is driving me crazy.
    Apparently there is a image height limit within Outlook (can't find out what this is) so I have sliced my larger images into 5/6 parts which solves the display issue in Outlook.
    But the gaps between the slices are now being displayed as small blank spaces within Hotmail.
    I did use <br> between each slice as without caused the fixed 600px wide containing table to expand due to the slices stacking hoz.
    Also still getting small gaps (like <br> spaces) between all images in Outlook when displaying perfectly (no gaps) in a browser.
    This is my newsletter displaying correctly via a browser:

    Using Dreamweaver 4 (do have the latest version via Adobe Creative Cloud Membership but not on this system).
    Hope you can help
    Many thanks

    Many thanks David
    I also found this article which is currently sitting on my desk.
    Pdf would make perfect sense or even a url link to view via a browser but these guys need it contained within the email.
    Thanks again for your kind advice.

  • Making HTML Newsletter into Printable format

    HI. I have been using Dreamweaver CS4 to create the company html newsletter. It looks fine in Dreamweaver and in the browser, but when I go to print it there is a bunch of extra space in certain spots, even a whole page in one part and it repeated info as well. The same thing happens when I save it into a PDF format. When I look at the code I can't find anything that may be causing this, but I am new to HTML and the program so I'm sure there is something I am missing. I'm guessing it has something to do with the tables used for the layout but I need to be able to have a printalbe version of the newsletter. Here is the link: http://www.acec-co.org/2009august.htm can someone please look over the code and tell me whats up? or where I'm going wrong? Thanks!

    In addition to Beth's reply, I notice you a few links that are pointing to your hard drive:  eg:
    <th height="106" colspan="2" style="background-color: #AFA586;" scope="col"><img src="file:///G|/Webloc/about/newsletter_files/2009Jan15/ACECNewsletterMast.gif" width="750" height="152" alt="ACEC/CO Newsletter" /></th>
      </tr>
    Are you working in a defined DW Site - did you create a new site before starting work on this page?  This may account for the fact the files are pointing to the hard drive instead of to a folder within the site definition.
    Define a site:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/140/tn_14028.html
    You also have a height declaration in the table code - which should be removed.  Height is not needed and in fact is deprecated, as a table will stretch automaticallly to fit whatever content is inside it.
    <table width="692" height="8015" border="1" cellpadding="5">
    Has some of this newsletter been created in MS Word?  There appears to be some MS proprietry styling contained in some of the code.
    You should also removed any styles from the head of the document and make them all inline, otherwise some email clients will not render the page correctly.
    You may want to have a read through the following articles on the correct way of creating newsletters to ensure that they are viewed correctly through various email clients:

  • Email a newsletter to a customer/vendor group, hiding recipients (like Bcc)

    Is it possible to use Outlook integration to email a newsletter to a customer/vendor group, hiding recipients (like Bcc)?
    Can outlook integration see the distribution list? i.e...what group the BP belongs to?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Outlook integration is deigned to link B1 to Outlook. It may not be able to use all advanced functions such as hiding recipients.
    For emailing a newsletter to a customer/vendor group, you may use query to get the list and create a distribution group to achieve your goal.
    Thanks,

  • Trouble with email HTML

    Hello,
    I have never really done email HTML but I am having a go a putting together an email signature for someone.

  • Having problems emailing a newsletter, can someone take a peek?

    I am trying to email a newsletter to my clients. Before mac I used Office Publisher and was able to create a newsletter with hyperlinks in it and when my clients opened the email, it was there (not as an attachment) I created a newsletter, converted it to a PDF and I attach it to an email and the links do not work AND it has to be opened from an attachment in PC mode. Can anyone give me a suggestion on what I should do?
    Thanks for reading

    I would give NeoOffice a try. One of the programs is called Writer, and has pretty good features. This is free software (Donation based).
    If you feel adventurous, you can also try a program called CrossOver, which allows you to run Windows software on your Mac. It may work just fine with Publisher, and you would be back in business. The software charges a license fee, but is available as a trial for 30 days so you can see how it works.
    I use it with Office 2000 all the time, and all the older stuff seems to be supported.
    Best of luck.

  • Can Muse be used to create html newsletter templates to be emailed?

    I need to create a newsletter template and save it as HTML to be sent out using one of the standard email host programs. Can Muse be used for that? I tried setting it up in InDesign and exporting it as HTML but the result was a mess. Thanks!

    We have Desktop . +Tablet . +Phone ... why not adding another entry +Mail?
    This way designers could create a newsletter template for an editorial team ... fully editable by using Business Catalyst?
    1) Upload on Business Catalyst
    2) Copy & Paste the page into my email client
    3) Using my address book instead of using another service and managing another address book
    4) Hitting "send"
    Why using another third party software, another mailing service, another address book, another list to manage in another online service.
    Sounds complicated ... I know html formatted emails are tricky to make it work in several email clients ... but, it's possible.
    I mean, mailchimp can do it too ... right?

  • Can you email Pages newsletter as HTML, not as attachment?

    I'm not a tech queen so be gentle! I want to do email newsletters but I want them to be HTML in the body of the email, not an attachment. is this possible in Pages?

    You will sacrifice some formatting, such as word wrap, but you can export to HTML from *Text Edit* or some of its more advanced siblings such as *iText Express* (free) and *iText Pro* both of which have multiple columns and other advanced layout functions.

  • InDesign for pic in email html?

    Hi. I picked up the adobe a few months back to create business cards and fliers etc... and maybe do some photoshop things.
    I have the cs4 package with fireworks,bridge,photo shop,illustrator, indesign etc....
    The cards and fliers worked out well. I created them in inDesign and sent them out as a Adobe PDF preset-  PDF/X1a:2001. to the printer.
    With times getting ruff here I also decided to create an e-mail letter and copy and paste the Adobe PDF I created for the business card into the email body. I did a test or two and it seamed to be good.
    After pasting and clicking and sending out about 150 emails, I'm getting responses saying the attachment wasn't clear (I didn't think I sent an attachment and that I placed it in the email), or to send more info (which the info was on the card).
    So I'm thinking the "card" didn't get through properly.
    Is the card in the wrong format? Can I get it from inDesign .indd through the bridge to get it to what I need? What do I need to get it to?
    I started reading and think it might have to be html.... then I keep reading and it mentions computers may reject it thinking its spam or something.
    If anyone can help out I would appreciate it.
    I'm on a Mac Pro 10.5.8  and I'm guessing alot of these emails will be going to people on PC's if that makes a difference.
    email-
    WORDs
    PICTURE (in body of email not attachment)(hopefully from indesign so I don't have to redo it)
    Thank you for any help in this matter.
    Rich

    1. InDesign isn't really the right tool to create HTML with -- best you can hope for is something to get started with, with a dedicated HTML editor such as Dreamweaver (although I think that's more geared towards creating entire sites, not really a single page).
    2. It entirely depends on the receiver's mail program and settings. At least some mail programs can display a PDF "inline"; but while most can display HTML and images "inline", it's up to the user. If s/he has the mail settings set to accept text-only, even simply styled HTML text won't come through. In addition, some mail servers refuse to pass through attached images.
    In Mac OS X mail you can select any 'styled' mail you got and then choose "View -> Message -> Plain text alternative" to see how it appears in the safe "text-only" mode.
    3. Best is to upload your work onto a web site, and *always* provide a link. This is at the very top of the InDesignSecrets newsletter I'm subscribed to:
    "Email not displaying correctly? View it in your browser."

  • Help Sending HTML Newsletter

    Hello I am new to the forum. I have just finished a basic course in web design and use Adobe Dreamweaver CS5. I just got a client who needed a newsletter done to send through email. I downloaded a template off of a site and used it to make a nice looking newsletter. Now the problem I am having is, how do I send it through Hotmail now? I need step by step instuctions on how to do this. Does it need to be uploaded to a server first like a website or not? Also do I need to make a seperate text document as well or will it automatically make it a text document if someone can't view HTML through their email client? I tried to send it through Shaw webmail (I am Canadian) before and the images did not show up for some reason. I would love it if someone could give me some insight on this. I need to send them off right away! Also if there is anything else I need to know, I would love to hear it! Thanks!

    >images did not show up for some reason
    HTML = Hyper TEXT Markup Language
    In other words, HTML is simply a TEXT file that contains formatting commands
    The command to show a picture is a link to the picture's location on a web site... so you must upload the pictures seperately and then create your links to point to the location where you placed the pictures
    When you send your (for example) April.htm file, that file uses HTML to format the pages... and link to the pictures
    These links must be "absolute" to point to the one and only place you have put them on a web site, not "relative" that you would use for a page ON a web site that uses links that point to pictures someplace on that site
    Examples
    Absolute = www (dot) mysite (dot) com/mypic1.jpg
    Relative = mypic1.jpg when the page resides on www (dot) mysite (dot) com

  • How to send existing email html including images

    I used the JasperReport to generate a report in html formats.
    The html page(containg the data) has a lot of images.
    I need to send the html report by emails with the images saved in local drive.
    So I used MineMulitipart way, but in existing ways the html part is just a few lines, you can define yourself.
    For my stiuation, the html is already there and very complicated,contain mulitiple images.
    How do I solve the problem still using MineMulitipart?
    Thanks!

    you basically have 2 options for images in HTML emails:
    Option 1) you can embed them as file attachments and reference them with no path (only the file name) in the img tag. This is good because the recipient will see the images even if he does not have an internet connection. But this is bad for several reasons: Each email will be large since it contains several attachments, thus large traffic on your SMTP server if the volume is high. Also, many email clients might not support this configuration. I would not normally recommend this option for these reasons, but sometimes this method can be prefferable if the recipient's email client is known to support it (Outlook, Outlook Express), and if the recipient is behind a firewall and does not have internet access.
    Option 2) the other, (preferrable) option is to serve the images on a publicly available web server, preferrably on port 80. Reference each image with an absolute URL to the file.
    Also note you should attach a .txt Multipart for those email clients which do not support HTML. (pine or elm users stuck in 1987). Note there are issues with mail gateways, as well as different levels of HTML support within the email client itself... mail clients won't support JavaScript either.
    ...good luck!
