Email Subject in Subscription Notification - customize wording?

Hi all,
we use EP6 NW04SPS11.
Our users have discussions in Collaboration Rooms to which they can subscribe. Then they get an Email containing a link to the discussion.
The Problem: in the email the word "subscription" is not really optimal, so we took the SUBSCRIPTIONADMIN_de.xml from etc/notifications to change the text in the mail body.
But i can't find the place where the subject of the email is generated, there we always have the text "Subskription "<DiscussionTitle>". There had been an great discussion thread with doku about this but the Email Subject is still an open issue

this is a little bit tricky, though.
The subject is taken from a property file inside this JAR:
\usr\sap\{REL}\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.km.cm.repository.service\private\lib\km.appl.repository.service.app.subscription_core.jar
When you open this JAR you'll find several translated property files. (Res_??.properties)
Inside these files you'll find the mailing subjects.
I'm not sure if this trick works...: Unzip the JAR, edit the file, zip the JAR. Test if this works...
Maybe you'll have to redeploy the PAR (that contains the JAR). The PAR could be found here:
\usr\sap\{REL}\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd\com.sap.km.cm.repository.service.par.bak
Simply rename the par from .par.bak to .par (after changing the JARs content) then restart the portal. This will redeploy the PAR, with its content. This should do it, if the first one doesn't...
Puh...I guess this should do it.

The subscription notifications are generated using an XML / XSL transformation
utilizing some additional parameter input. The XSL stylesheet consists of 3 main
parts: the parameter block, the message structure, and the parameter rendering
library. It make sense to first describe the XSL in order to understand the XML.
It is possible to do lots of customization by only changing the XML (and resource
bundles in EP6).

Email notification in human task: How to customize email subject.

Dear all community members,
I am using email notification service in human task to receive email notification if task is assigned to me. I have configured email notification in human task & I do receive the email in my inbox as assignee.
The default email subject is like [Action Required: TASK_TITLE], I want to remove this [Action Required:] from email subject.
I tried setting <%null%> in Notification Header in .task file but the email subject is still has Action Required.
Is there any way to customize email subject so that I can get rid of [Action Required:] [FYI] in email subject.

Permissions in Subscription notification email

Hi All,
I have enabled the subscription service for a KM folder and have assigned some users to it . These users have READ permission to this KM folder.But when these users receive a subscription notification email in that mail they have a link to go to details tab of a folder
But if user has only read permission for this folder , then they should not get a details link in subscription email .
How can we control this ?
Is it that we can control this only by service permissions for subscription ?

Your answer was helpful , I have checked it using service permissions and it is working fine but still I have one doubt .
I have assigned subscription service permission ( unsubscribe only ) to these users. This means users should be only able to unsubscribe themselves and not subscribe or add anybody to the subscription.
But when these users receive the subscription email they still have 'edit subscription' link in their email .
Is it some kind of configuration issue or a bug ?

It's not from Apple, it's a phishing attempt to try and get your account and payment details - forward it to Apple : [email protected] , and then delete it.

How do I add the customer's name to Workflow Notification email subject line?
I'm expecting that I need to add a tag, but I'm not sure what the correct tag would be, I have tried a few but it just writes the tag I inserted and not the customer's name.

This is something you can not add at the moment. You can change the layout a bit of workflow notifications from the system but you can not change the subjects at this time to render a system tag like that.

Customizing PO approval workflow POAPPRV for email subject/body changes

Hi,
The requirement is to modify the email subject/body of the emails sent to the suppliers once PO is approved.
They would also like to remove the
'From/To/Sent/Id' which is displayed as first section in body currently.
I am new to workflow, so could you please guide me in achieving this?
Is workflow customization only option?
Do we have any other way in which the requirement can be accomplished?

Edit Workflow Mailer - Purchase Order Email Subject

Hi,
We have configured the workflow mailer to enable reminders to be sent out to approvers which relate to Purchase Order approvals that have not been responded to.
However, as well as a reminder email being sent, there is also an email telling the approver that the previous email has been canceled. This has a the email subject prefixed with "Canceled:"
Our problem is that users are seeing this and thinking that the Purchase Order has been cancelled. We therefore want to either edit the subject of this email, or stop it being sent.
Any help/advice would be appreciated.

I think this mail is sent by the workflow mailer using the item type System Mailer. This is auto generated notification when the notification itself is canceled or retired. You can customize the subject there based on the source.

I would like to customize the subject line and body. for example...
Current Email:
Subject: Your password has been changed.

I would like to modify to:
Subject: Your 'Oracle Application Express' password has been changed.

Email subject filter

I'm having trouble getting the email subject filter to work. I am currently using redirector on my work laptop to push email to my Blackberry handset. I am trying to build a subject filter that looks for one word in the subject line and does not forward the email if that word is found anywhere in the subject.
For example, I select the subject filter and enter the word 'NEON'. Next, I move this filter to the top of my filter list. When an email arrives on my desktop with a subject of 'NEON 123' or 'NEON 234' or 'NEON 1: Alert', I would like it to be filtered and not forwarded to my handset. Finally, I select the check box that says 'Forward messages to the device' when no filters apply. Essentially, I am hoping the subject filter works with a partial match. However, this does not appear to be the behavior.
Additionally, I've tried using * as a wildcard, but that doesn't appear to work either. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Setting Email Subject

I'm using Cp5.5 (but can use Cp6 if required), and I have a click box that when a user clicks it, generates an email to a specified email address. Is there a way I can specify what the email subject is?

Yep, there is! In each class I facilitate I show folks how to do exactly that!
Oh, you need to know now and not want to wait? Okay. Fair enough.
It's pretty simple really. Where you type the email address, you just tack on a question mark followed by the word Subject= and add your desired subject. It should look like this:
[email protected]?Subject=Any subject you like here
But if you try that, Captivate will squawk at you and tell you it's not a valid email address or some other such nonsense. So I have a workaround for that.
Have you ever visited a URL and noticed the browser title bar looking like this?

What Captivate balks at are the spaces. It doesn't like the spaces. And those %20 values you see in the URL are spaces. So to get past things and make your email link work, you just insert %20 everywhere you would typically want a space to appear.

How to take off email and website subscription from 2006 iMac to sell?

I have a desktop Imac that I bought in 2006 and would now like to sell. I also bought a laptop in 2007 that I prefer using. How do I remove the email and website subscription from the desktop model without messing up the laptop info? They seem to be connected at this point and I am not sure how to take off the information from one without damaging the other.

Have you solved this problem? If not, can you be more specific? You can change the email account information using Email preferences. Which website subscription would you like to remove?
