Email to Group problem

Hello!
I have a group with 10 contacts, I checked all email addresses, and they are all correct, however when I try to send to that group I get an error that The "xyz" group is not a valid email address.
What am I doing wrong?

How are you adding the "Group" to your messages?
Try "dragging" the group to the "To" or "CC" field in your message. Then once there, select the group and right-click or control-click and choose "expand group". This will expand the group into the individual recipients.

'Send email to group' is not working

I have just made a group in address book. As far as I can tell, I have made it in exactly the same way as all my other groups. However, when I right click on the group name, and choose 'send email to group', it opens a window with nothing in the To: field. I've tried restarting the app, restarting the computer, and even creating the group again, but still it doesn't work.
All other groups made before this still work fine: when I choose 'send email to group' the To: field is filled with recipients's addresses.
This is a real problem for me as I use this feature all the time. I'd appreciate any help.

Seems to be working now. I don't know what was wrong before.

How do you send an email to group address with Maverick OSX?

Installed Maverick 10.9.2 and have problem sending emails to Group address's. I can add each reciepent one ata time but can not get the one click Group address to load like I could with OSX 10.7. Any ideas or help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for replying. I did a poor job of explaining my problem. With OSX 10.7, Sending mail from my Mac Pro I was able to add multiple groups to the send line. Using OSX 10.9 I can only add one group, it does not allow multiple's.
I tried the CC line as well as BCC to no avail.
As far as one click, I prefix all groups names with a key double character to keep them together. Now I can type that key characters on the Send To line and bring up the list of groups to select from ( my one click reference).. I use a double ZZ. After selecting the first group, keying ZZ quickly allows subsequent groups etc. to include in the same email. It worked with 10.7, not in 10.9?
Rather time consuming, having to send each group the same email one at a time.

Emailing a group brings mail to a crawl

Since upgrading to Mavericks, I've experienced a number of issues trying to send Group emails. The most recent update (10.9.1) has compounded the problems. Whenever I attempt to email a group, it's almost as if mail locks up. I get the spinning beach ball. I simply have to wait until it stops spinning before I can resume typing. After typing a letter or two, the beach ball returns. . . more waiting. Surely this has to be a bug.
Is anyone else having this problem? Are there any solutions? After searching the communities, it's obvious that many are encountering significant issues trying to send group emails after upgrading to Mavericks. I'm now looking for an alternative mail application until Apple truly gets this fixed. Any suggestions?

Your email provider imposes a limit on how many emails can be sent at one time from your email address; the only way for you to know this limit is to ask your email provider.
But you shouldn't be sending group emails to people unless all the recipients except yourself are in the BCC field. Otherwise, not only are you likely to try to send email beyond the limit imposed by your email provider, everyone's email address will be exposed to everyone else, and that violates their privacy. At the same time, any of your recipients who are using Windoze have a system that may have various malware that can harvest those email addresses and use them to send spam, as well as leave you and every other recipient open to receiving spam.

Server stops after sending successive email to groups. Has happened several times, I have 15 groups, after sending to 13, I cannot send anymore, even the next day. Thanks for any help.

Are you running OS X Server here? (This question was originally posted in the OS X Server forum, but you're not referencing your OS X Server version or related details. Which leads me to suspect you might not be running OS X Server here.)
If you are not running OS X Server here and are using hosted email, you can use Connection Doctor within Mail.app to take a look at the connection processing that is occuring within Mail.app, but I'd suspect you are running into a mail server problem, or a mail server sending limit; possibly a mail-flood limit of some sort.
Please contact your hosting provider for assistance with this.
If you are running OS X Server and wish to troubleshoot this...
Bad DNS is a common cause of mail server errors.
Do not use a .local domain for your mail server DNS services, and do not use your ISP DNS.
To check this, launch terminal.app from Applications > Utilities and issue the following (harmless, diagnostic, no changes performed) command and see if there are DNS or network issues:
sudo changeip -checkhostname
You'll need to provide a privileged password, and you might get a one-time message about sudo use, and you'll then get an indication that no changes are required, or that there are DNS or network errors.
To check public DNS, issue the following commands, replacing example.com with your domain, and mail.example.net with whatever is returned by the first command, and 10.20.30.40 with whatever is returned by tge second command.
dig +short @8.8.8.8 MX example.com
dig +short @8.8.8.8 mail.example.net
dig +short @8.8.8.8 -x 10.20.30.40
The host name returned by the third command should match the host name used for the second command. (The 8.8.8.8 IP address is a Google DNS server, and the @ reference to that will bypass any local DNS setup you are using.)
To check the mail server itself, launch Console.app from Applications > Utilities and see what the mail server is chatting about — if anything — when the failures occur. Expurgate any private information and post a small representative sample of just the error — please don't dump a hundred lines of log output here.

I need help with an email WiFi sending problem on my iPad 2

I’m having an email WiFi sending problem on my iPad 2     Model: MC774C/A; IOS VERSION: 6.1.3 (10B329).
While I use 4 email accounts on the iPad -- Hotmail, Gmail, iCloud and ns.sympatico.ca ( a division of BellAliant) – the sending difficulty only relates to the ns.sympatico.ca. The settings for this account are:         pop.bellaliant.net            and      smtp.bellaliant.net
I first noticed the problem about 3 weeks ago while travelling across the country (Canada). (I do recall about that time there was an update of my IOS and I also for my wife purchased from the Bell store an iPhone which shares my Apple account.) Prior to that everything worked well for a couple of years.
I noticed earlier this month that the iPad received mail fine but would not send at night using the motels’ WiFi. During the day, using my 3G account, all worked fine. I phoned Bell but was told that my experience was normal so I thought no more about it until I returned home and found the same problem at the house. I called Bell again and worked for 2 hours with 3 Bell technicians who succeeded in getting the iPad to neither send nor receive and gave up advising me to take the iPad into a Bell store to have it looked at. I did that and the young technician got the iPad sending and receiving by changing the        smtp.bellaliant.net      to         mail.1xbell.ca
However, when I returned home again, I realized that it was working on my 3G and still doesn’t send on my WiFi
I’m looking for any suggestions that might solve this annoying problem?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

No longer sending emails to Groups

Help, All of a sudden I can no longer send emails to groups. It says the server is not accepting the email.

Well the participants belong to a particular group in the AD and that group is assigned to a role . So if you are trying to access participants in that role, it should automatically try to access participants inside the group in the AD to which the ROLE is assigned to?
If there are participants inside a group in the AD which is synced to ALBPM, should ALBPM auto-detect those participants inside that group and if that group is assigned to a ROLE, should ALBPM auto-detect those participants inside that GROUP and send them emails?
Am I right?
Also what is id : departmentName over here?
Do we need to exactly specify the group name in the AD?
My question is :-
Why do we need to hard-code an AD group name into our code because if we say :-
activity.role.find(name : activity.role.name);
it should find the role for that activity and all participants belonging to that role should be emailed.
Now if these participants are under a group which is assigned to the ROLE, then all participants under that role need to be emailed..
Doesn't ALBPM automatically detect this?

On each of the phones you're gonna use a new Apple ID for iCloud: turn off Contacts, Calendars, etc. for iCloud. You'll be prompted to keep the data or delete it from the phone, then turn off iMessage, FaceTime & delete the iCloud account...Settings>iCloud...scroll down...delete account. Then, setup iCloud using the new Apple ID, turn on iMessage & Facetime.
This will have no affect on the ID you share for iTunes content, & you can continue to do so.

How do I get around the email Apple ID problem on iCloud?

My Primary Apple ID is not an email address. After following Apple's prompts on my iPhone after installing IOS5 I (and I regret this emmensely), created a new ID with my primary email, the same one that is the email linked to my other Apple ID. It allowed me to do this.
Since iCloud would be fairly unmanageable on my iPhone and Macs with 2 IDs, I'd like to figure out the best way to trick the system to merge all this mess into one account.
Here's my problem.
My primary Apple ID is a simple username.
The email for it is my primary email
The secondary Apple ID account I created for iCloud is that same email.
The email for it is that email.
What I want to do is change my primary Apple ID with the username to the primary email name, in order to make all my iTunes purchases synchable with iCloud.
I do know that Apple does not allow an ID to be cancelled, so I can't go this route to get rid of the current email one.

I signed to iCloud using a [email protected] email address as the username. It's the same email address as my primary ID's email.
The problem is not buying apps or music using the iCloud ID, it's managing them later.
You'll end up with a big mess of apps and music all over the place. You won't be able to sync to iCloud all the music you have on your primary ID.
I made the mistake of buying an expensive app using the iCloud ID on my phone, only to not have it be able to sync to my computer, which uses my primary Apple ID. I had to go through Apple to have them void that purchase and buy it again using my primary Apple ID.
All my issues would have been avoided if Apple had allowed me sign up for iCloud using my current Apple ID.
It's because of their requirement that the ID username needs to be an email address.

Report design Grouping problem

I'm currently designing a report, something like an invoice. The invoice number is usually on the page header. But now i want to create a report to list down all the invoice numbers in the 'details' but when i drag the 'invoice number' data to 'details'
it only show 1 row of numbers, wheareas the data has few rows of it. How can i make it view all my numbers?

E75 Email (Access Point problem)

Hi,
I've setup nokia email without any problem using my WiFi and it was synchronizing without a problem. Since then I've I'm unable to change the Access Point to my Mobile provider. I keep getting "Server not found", even though the server name is still properly configured (netac3.vie.hosting.com). Can anyone help?

Email new password problem

Hi
I have recently had to change my BT email password because I got hacked.
I can log into my email online no problem with the new password. I've changed the password, in Windows Live Mail but it only works some of the time. Yesterday all emails were getting through, today it keeps asking for the password - and when I put the new one in it says its not correct.
I've run BT desktop help and it also says the password is not correct. (it is!!)
Any ideas?

I can see your posting now, its in my waiting folder. I have to arrange a trigger for posts with my name on, as there are far too many posts to wade through otherwise
This is an ongoing issue with POP3 access which is unlikely to be fixed, as Yahoo say that the sevice is working within acceptable limits.
Personally I use IMAP access via Thunderbird, and so do many others on this forum. That seems to work fine, perhaps you would like to try it as well as Windows live.

I have installed an ABAP +J2EE instance with the view of using it for Adobe Document Services.
While following the Adobe Document Services configuration guide, Step 3.2.1.1:
I'm creating a role in the ABAP engine, creating a user (ADSUser); creating and assigning the role (ADSCallers) to it.
When I start visual admin, i expect the user to be shown under the 'group': ADSCallers.
While I can see the user in visual admin, I'm unable to see the group (role in ABAP instance)
I'm on SP19 NW2004. Any views???

On the other hand: Did you purchase your product from these firms like Amazon? If yes, this is not a serial number, only a code with which you can request a serial number from Adobe. The following part, so I just see at least, ceased to exist on my Adobe website, everything takes place in the link from above. I leave it as an info yet, it might still fit for you. For this purpose, please click your way through to your Adobe Store and find the button "Get Serial Number". Fill in the form and after a while you will get the real serial number.

Work Around:
On your mac:
1. Open a new email
2. Insert name of an existing group into one of the "To" fields as usual.
3. Highlight all the resulting names in the "To" entry
     [Highlight first name, and while holding shift, highlight last name and all will highlight[]
4. Copy (Command C) the highlighted emails
5. Paste (Command V) nto a pages document
6. Remove the name and anything else preceeding the first < and also the first < of only the first entry whixh will look like this:
     [email protected]>,
7. Remove the > of the last email which will look like this:
     , Jane Doe <[email protected]
8. Copy the entire altered list from the pages document
9, Go to Contact Book and click + to add a new entry
10.. Name the entry (XXX Group for iPad) or whatever you wish to call it
11. Paste all the copied altered list into any one of the email entry spaces
12. Click on "Done"
13. Create new email On iPad and click on + in any one of the "To" lines and search for "XXX Group for iPad" You cannot just key in XXX Group for iPad!!!!!!!, you must use + contact search.
14. Enter the selected iPad contact group into the "To" line.
15. All the entries will now appear in the "To" line and you are good to go.
Adding or deleting email addresses from the iPad group:
Easiest: Alter the original mac group in the usual way and repeat steps 1-14 above. It seems impossible to edit within the emai line of the iPad contact entry.
Rediculously simple once figured out.
Happy emailling, but please send Bcc so that you don't spread your groups' email addresses all over the internet for spam, viruses, and other unwanted emails. Be considerate and ask your recipients to notifiy you if they wish to be deleted from the lists you compose.
