Embedded Flash includes a selectable "blue box" ?

I have embedded some SWF files into a PDF. When I open the PDF in Adobe Reader, there is a selectable area (cross-hair cursor) at the bottom of the page which, when clicked, displays a semi-transparent blue box. I cannot delete this "object" (not sure what it is actually) and don't know how to get rid of it. Any ideas? Thanks!

You probably have the outline mode turned on for the layer(s) that the images are sitting in. In the Timeline window there are three icons on the right side of the layer name. The first toggles the visible property of the layer's contents, the second locks the layer, and the third toggles the "View layer as outlines" option. Turn that off and and you should see the images and not just the bounding box.

Something has gone wrong - the AppleTV needs to be restored by connecting to a computer running current iTunes version using a microUSB to USB lead.
AppleTv2 does not require power when doing this.
Select the AppleTv Device on teh left in iTunes and restore to current firmware.

  • In Adobe Flash CS6, I have a blue box appearing around lines drawn with the line tool (and other tools like brush etc). I can't figure out how to disable.

In Adobe Flash CS6, I have a blue box appearing around lines drawn with the line tool (and other tools like brush etc). Whenever I try to use a tool,  a blue box appears around the line and I have to double click it to manipulate it, which opens just that line in a semi burred screen where all the other objects are semi-grey in the background. I can manipulate this line in this screen but nothing else at that time which I could do about 5 minutes ago. For exampe, I no longer can join up 2 lines drawn by the line tool together. For some reason this started randomly (probably due to a accidental shortcut combination) and I just can't put it back to what it used to be. I have inserted a video hopefully showing what I mean. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Adobe Reader cannot play embedded Flash content

I don't know why, the Flash format was originally created by Macromedia, and then Adobe acquired the company, but the Adobe Reader cannot display Flash content.
    My PDF file is here:
    http://genifer.googlecode.com/files/agi-book.pdf
    Scroll to page 37.
The original SWF file is here:
    http://genifer.googlecode.com/files/unified-AND-OR.swf
which *can* be played on my Chrome browser.
But when I embedded the SWF file in the PDF, the result is unplayable.
A clue is:  Adobe Reader asked me to download QuickTime to display media contents.  So I downloaded QuickTime.  But QuickTime nowadays has removed Flash support.  Why did Adobe Reader ask me to download QuickTime to display Flash, when Adobe owns the Flash format?
I have also tried selecting other media players in the Reader's option box (eg, Windows Media, Windows built-in, Adobe Flash, etc) but none of them works.
I have also tried using Adobe Acrobat Professional 9.  Same result.
It seems to be a problem with Adobe Reader.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Adobe Reader most certainly CAN play embedded Flash content, but only if you embed it properly.
You're seeing a Quicktime warning because you're embedding the SWF as "legacy media" content - this is no longer supported for authoring and is disabled by default for playback. You should use Rich Media Annotations instead (embedding using the multimedia/flash tool in Acrobat 9 or Acrobat X).

  • Blue Box Question Marks  Since Installing Router

    Hello,
Since installing a new Dlink 655 router, I have not been able to view my favorite websites. Most pictures are just blue boxes. A lot of pages won't come up in safari. I have tried to upgrade adobe and fix my permissions, but really haven't had much luck. Any ideas would be great!

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
If you are running 10.5.4 as your profile indicates, you need to bring system software up to date to 10.5.8. Use the v10.5.8 Combo Update
Regarding Adobe Flash. You need to uninstall the old version then reinstall new but make sure you update to 10.5.8 first.
    Uninstall Flash
    Install Flash
    Then repair disk permissions...
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
    Relaunch Safari.

  • Using Template blue box stop movement of graphic and/or text..

I am using one of the templates...it worked fine when I was using there formatted section. However I tried to add a new page that doesn't use their text or graphics. I hit return a few times until I got a new page. I placed a graphic, but when I try to move it a blue box flashes up and I am prevented from moving the graphic. Any thoughts?

It would help if you told us which template you used or at least which type of document. You can see it to the right of the document name.
My guess is that it is a word processing document. You have use paragraph breaks (return key) to get a new empty/blank page. Then you have inserted an image.
The image is probably inserted inline. open the Inspector palette > Wrap tab, the third tab > have the image selected and click on floating. Now you can move or resize the image
Tips: Have Show invisibles turned on, it will better know what happens in the document.
When you want a new page learn to use Insert > Page break
You can download the Pages User Guide from the Pages Help menu. It will tell you a lot about the features in Pages.

  • Blue box around link wont go away

Im using DW cs3 and trying to redo a website. I have
everything in place, but when I add a link to an animated gif in
center of my page, it adds a blue border around the image. How can
    I turn this off?
I have a nav column on left side of page will rollover
effects and there is no blue box around those images.
If thats not bad enough, I also have an animated gif above my
nav column, and when I add a link to it, It gets a blue box as well
and expands my nav table. I havent experienced this with older DW.
Any ideas on what Im doing or not doing right?
*****Disregard. Finally figured out you have to put a 0 in
for border. I dont remember ever having to put that in before. I
    may just be getting old.

    HI,
From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Preferences then select the Appearance tab. Tick the box next to: Display images when the page opens.
If that box is already ticked, from the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset. Relaunch Safari. If you still have problems loading images, go here for trouble shooting 3rd party plugins or input managers which might be causing the problem. Safari: Add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
Web pages now include a small icon or 'favicon' which is visible in the address bar and next to bookmarks. These icons take up disk space and slow Safari down. It is possible to erase the icons from your computer and start fresh. *To delete Safari's icon cache using the Finder, open your user folder, navigate to ~/Library/Safari/ and move this file "webpageIcons.db to the Trash.*
Make sure Safari is not running in Rosetta. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle so it faces down. Where you see Open using Rosetta... make sure that is NOT selected.
If you still have problems, go to the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Preferences. Make note of all the preferences under each tab. Quit Safari. Now go to ~/Library/Preferences and move this file com.apple.safari.plist to the Desktop. Relaunch Safari. If it's a successful launch, then that .plist file needs to be moved to the Trash.

  • Audio problems with embedded Flash

I have the Flash of a Captivate simulation embedded on one of
the slides in my Presenter file. When I publish it, the audio for
the Flash starts playing in the middle of the previous slide -
playing over the audio for that slide. When I click Pause, the
audio for the Presenter slide stops, but the Flash audio keeps
going even though I haven't gotten to the slide with the embedded
file yet. It always starts 4-5 seconds into the previous slide.
Does anyone have a clue why this is happening?
I've used embedded Flash files in Presenter several times
with no problems, and the settings in Presenter are all the same as
in the presentations that work correctly.
    - In Presentation Settings, I have "controlled by
presentation playbar" deselected because there are click boxes in
the Captivate sim that users will click to advance.
    - In Slide Properties, I have "advance by user" select for
both the embedded slide and the previous slide.
    - I thought that there was some glitch in the Audio Editor,
so I added 5 seconds of silence at the end of the previous slide,
and added enough silence to the embedded slide to more than cover
the length of the embedded piece.
This is the first time I've tried to embed a Flash file since
I upgraded to Captivate 2. Could something have changed on the
Captivate side of things? It still doesn't make sense why the audio
would start playing before the Flash starts, but I'm grasping at
    straws here.
    Thanks!
    Judi

    A little additional information:
It isn't just the audio from the embedded Flash that runs
early - it's the actual Flash file. I don't know if this makes any
difference in figuring out what's going on, but thought I'd add
    that bit of detail.
Also - I had found out that my Captivate project that I
created the Flash from had gotten corrupted and was hoping that
fixing that would fix this problem as well ... but no such luck...

  • Blue Box Surrounding My Drawing?

A blue box surrounds each individual line I make with the paintbrush. I'm on the final stages of an animation. I'm currently using Flash CS5.5. The problem with these blue boxes is that it treats it like a seperate drawing disabling me from filling the the object in with paint bucket, however it does appear on the drawing it self.
If anyone knows a way of disabling the box that would be very help and would be much appreciated.
As a side note I've noticed it has labeled it has a drawing object, where as the other ones are considered shapes.. Is there a way to deactivate each thing as a drawing object

In the drawing tools toolbox there are a set of controls that allow you to set the size and shape and other properties of the drawing tool currently selected.  One of these is used to initiate object drawing...

When try and access a page I have created with internet

  • In my updated Pages 5.2, when I click on a specific shape to manipulate it, all the other shapes on the page have blue boxes around them. I cannot grab and work with one shape easily.  Why?

I have a mac OS X, version 10.9.3 with Pages 5.2 (1860). When I create several shapes or text boxes on the page and try to click on just one, a blue box surrounds every item on the page so I can't edit the one specific item.  Why?

    Hello betsywetsy
It sounds to me like you have the shapes grouped together. Select them and either look in the Arrange pane of the Format inspector and towards the bottom you should see a Group and Ungroup button. Also you go to the drop down menu Arrange > Ungroup to do the same effect.

  • The little icons to the left of website names (such as the little white 'f' in a blue box for Facebook) on my list of Bookmarks have disappeared so that I now only have the names themselves, which makes it harder to navigate.

Normally, when I click on Bookmarks at the top of my screen, the list of websites that comes up includes a little icon to the left of each bookmark. Now I only get a list. No icons. What has happened to the little four-colored flag for Hotmail, the 'f' in a blue box for facebook, and all the rest? It's now much harder to navigate.

    Problem solved. Brilliant! Thanks.

  • ?in blue box instead of images

Images within text not appearing on some websites.  Only ? in blue box appears. Same thing in Chrome and Firefox.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.
