Emca ports used error

Hi all,
11.2.0.3
Aix 6.1
I am configuring emca for the DEV machine > emca -config dbcontrol db -repos create  ....and it was successful.
Then I am configuring another UAT machine which the same specs, but my emca got error:
SEVERE: Failed to allocate port(s) in the specified range(s) for the following process(es): JMS [5540-5559],RMI [5520-5539],Database Control [5500-5519],EM Agent [3938] | [1830-1849]. Fix the error(s) and re-run EM Configuration Assistant.
Some of the possible reasons may be:
1) Firewall may be on. Turn it off.
2) Port is already in use by some other process. Either free the port or re-run emca script by providing free ports as command line options.
The sysadmin  said no firewall was turned on as it was the same setup with the DEV machine. The server has been rebooted so all the ports are free.
How do I troubleshoot this error? How do I check if firewall was turnedON on Aix?
Thanks a lot,
pK

  • Phone number ported in error; can't access e-mails

I bought a new cell phone and requested that my cell number be ported.  Instead of porting the cell number, our Verizon land line was ported in error.  Shortly thereafter, our account was canceled, and our access to Verizon e-mail was terminated.  Numerous calls to Verizon have been in vain.  Any suggestions on how I can impress the importance of getting our e-mail account returned to us?  My wife still has her Verizon cell phone, and Verizon has told me that they will re-port the number back to our home later this week.  Will our e-mail accounts return?

  • Port overrun error while reading data in queue

I am trying to read data from various wireless sensors(5-6 in number)  which are communicating with my PC using rs232 port.
the size of data from each sensor that i am getting is 39 bytes.
I want to extract some bytes of these data for which i am using a string subset function.
Now the issue is due to the high baud rate i am not able to read data from each of them individually because before one set of data is worked on another set arrives and port overrun error occurs.
I am trying to do this using queue but could not find a possible solution.

This shouldn't be a difficult problem, as serial communication is "slow" (compared to the speed of the CPU).  You want to take advantage of LabVIEW's parallel nature and have each of your Serial devices running in parallel, taking 39 bytes of data and passing it to an "Extract useful information" subVI.  Note that you can use the same subVI for each of the 6 lines, and the time it takes to "extract the useful information" (by doing some string parsing) should take no more than a few microseconds, so it can easily be "shared" by all of your serial devices.  Alternatively, you could make this VI reentrant, so a separate and independent copy would be assigned to each device, again allowing parallel operation.
If you are still having problems, post some code.

  • One or more ports used by the Compute Emulator are currently used by other processes

    Environment:
    VS 2012 Professional
    Azure SDK October 2012
    Windows 8
I lost the last few days of my life struggling with a weird issue in the emulator. I just ran out of options and I would really appreciate if someone could help me figure out what's wrong.
I am trying to debug a service package from Visual Studio 2012. It's really just about any package -- even the ones generated from a Windows Azure Cloud Service VS template. Any. The VS debugger starts, and in parallel there's "Starting the Windows Azure Debugging
Environment" dialog which shows "Deploying service package to the Windows Azure compute emulator..." message.
The progress bar shown in the dialog gets stuck for a long time (possibly even for an hour or longer!) at some 60% and then the following error message is shown:
"One or more ports used by the Compute Emulator are currently used by other processes. To resolve this, please see MSDN documentation at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh472164.aspx"
There doesn't seem to be anything else listening on the ports mentioned on the above MSDN page. I did nevertheless try to re-map devfabric and agent ports by specifying different values in the .config files mentioned on the page, but that did not help.
What I also tried and did not help:
    - reinstalled SDK, IIS Express, Local DB
    - reinstalled VS 2012 (yes, I got that desperate)
    - tried using IIS instead
    - used SysInternals TcpView to check if there are any conflicts
    - rebooted the machine: the deployment works initially (*once*), and the subsequent deployments fail (!)
    - tried to kill all Azure-related processes in memory and restart debugging
    - tried looking into log files under the user directory (dftmp\...); no errors in *any* log
    - tried looking into Event Viewer logs (Azure-related and in general); no errors either
Since the conflict seems to be related to my current network settings, below is my IP
configuration. I am behind a router and I have DHCP activated, but again that should not matter since none of that has changed in the last few years (and the emulator did work until few days ago).

    Hi,
Unfortunately I already tried all kinds of re-installs (the full list is in my original message). The only one remaining is the reinstall of Windows 8 itself, which I would really like to avoid.
What I find really strange is the time it takes for the above error message to appear. It's like one hour or even more (never measured exactly, I left the computer running).
What kind of a timeout is that? I would expect that, if ports are really used by some other application, I get the message in less than a minute (seconds, actually). To me this looks like the emulator itself for some reason believes there's a problem with
some port while in reality there isn't.
I'll eventually contact Microsoft Support, thanks for the suggestion.

  • What is "Missing Port Information" error?

Setting FINEST log level on JAXRPC in the AS8 2004Q04 Beta reveals nothing.
Searches on this forum provides only 3 matches for "Missing port information" (this one makes 4). In http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=136&thread=508958 the same problem that I have is described, and the problem is left unresolved, despite a plea from a second user. ( I wonder what happened to these people...Did they sell short or become .NET developers. Neither are an answer for me. )
Searches in the bug parade shows that this error is generic: In 6157880, classpath was not set correctly. In 4859401, service used a J2SE 1.4 API in a 1.3 environment. In 4802443 there is a getter for a public field and so jaxrcp was confused. There are more bugs matching but I'm not listing them all here. My point is that there doesn't seem to be a single root cause for this problem.
So, logs don't help, forum doesn't have answer, bug parade is too noisy. This problem seems unresolved here on Sun's web pages, but here I try again:
    Here are some questions:
    1) What is "port information"?
    2) From where is it missing? Where does AS8 expect to find it?
    3) Anyone have a strategy on how to debug this?
I have Axis TCPMON tracing the soap messages and can verify that AS8 originates the error, not the client. The limited information from the server log verifies this too:
    [#|2004-11-01T16:28:20.008-0500|SEVERE|sun-appserver-pe8.1|javax.enterprise.resource.webservices.rpc.server.http|_Thre
adID=11;|JAXRPCSERVLET22: no endpoint specified|#]Here is the output of a client that dumps the exception:
         [java] Endpoint address = http://Stratocaster:8080/ym/ym-alias

         [java]     at SubClient.main(SubClient.java:31)

I believe I've gotten to the bottom of this error and will report it here in case there is anyone that is also having this problem and in case there is anyone that can make sense of it.
The alias and endpoint fields must be equal.
The deploy tool allows you to enter an alias and an endpoint for your web service. I'll show you the user interface specifics below. The data you enter in these fields show up in the wsdl, the web.xml and the sun-web.xml, and I'll show what elements below.
Except for the preceding '/' in the alias field (the '/' is inserted by deploytool), the alias and the endpoint string must be identical: if '/imp-alias' is the alias value, the endpoint must be 'imp-alias'.
If they are not equal and your client uses the alias value in endpoint address, you will get "Missing port information" error.
If they are not equal and your client uses the endpoint value in endpoint address, you will get '404 Not Found' error.
For example, lets say I set alias to 'api-alias' and endpoint to 'api-endpoint'. Using my browser, I can get the wsdl with http://localhost:8080/context/api-alias?wsdl (where context is also a value set in deploytool gui). The returned wsdl will show that the soap:adress location attribute is: http://localhost:8080/context/api-endpoint. If your client uses the wsdl to generate stubs, the default endpoint is this location and your client will get the '404 Not Found' error. If you client provides an endpoint address by setting the ENDPOINT_ADDRESS_PROPERTY to http://localhost:8080/context/api-alias, your client will get the "Missing port information" error.
You get to the alias and endpoint fields in deploytool from the File panel on the left. Open the subfolder that represents your war file. There will be your web service. Select the web service and the main panel will change to contain about 4-6 tabs. One tab labelled Aliases another tab labelled Endpoint.
The alias field shows up in the web.xml file like this:
    <servlet-name>APIImpl</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/api-alias</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>The endpoint field show up in the web.xml file under the same servlet-mapping element as alias:
    <servlet-name>APIImpl</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/api-endpoint/__container$publishing$subctx/*</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>The endpoint field shows up in the wsdl in the soap:address element's 'location' attribute:
<soap:address location="http://localhost:8080/context/api-endpoint" xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/"/>The endpoint field shows up in the sun-web.xml file

  • Error: "Cannot connect to the provider. Make sure it is running in the specified host/port. Error (12031)"

    Hi,
    EPM version: EPM 11.1.2.1
When we are using Zoom In Level as All Levels and tring to drill down for dimention of HFM application we are getting below error.
Error: "Cannot connect to the provider. Make sure it is running in the specified host/port. Error (12031)"
As we found some solution from comunity , we have performed below workaround but still we are getting same error.
    ·              We have done the changes in mod_wl_ohs.conf file of OHS  with (WLIOTimeoutSecs 3600 and WLIOSocketTimeoutSecs 3600)
    ·              And then restarted OHS and  APS service but still we found same error.
Could anyone please suggest ,where can we trace its log from web server and the solution for this issue?
         Thanks,
             D.N. Rana

    Hi,
We have already performed the changes for APS in OHS as mentioned in the solution and the path also same as under OHS.
Intially we were getting error for "to increase netRetryCould and NetRetryInterval"  as a solution we have added below 3  registry DWORD keys under  path
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
    "KeepAliveTimeout"=dword:00180000                   (26 Minutes)
    "ReceiveTimeout"=dword:00dbba00                      (240 Minutes)
    "ServerInfoTimeout"=dword:00180000                  (26 Minutes)
Above error resolved but then we received Error"12031"
Now we have added above 3 DWORD keys under path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
and now we are not getting the  error "12031".
But here we are not getting how it(LB issue) resolved with above solution?
    Thanks,
    D.N.Rana

Pls go to txn SM59 and check if the RFC destination for webservice is working in the test connection.
Then go to txn LPCONFIG and create the logical port using the RFC dest.  Pls mention the path suffix appropriately.
Next in your code while instantiating the client proxy pass the logical port name in the constructor (if the LP is not maintained as default).
Pls reward points if the tips are helpful.

  • Help, error connection Cisco Identity Services Engine with AD, global catalog port status error

    Dear all,
I have Cisco Indentity Services Engine, that  connected to Active Directory. When I test connection detailed,
    the result is error, said:
    Test Connection Results
This dialog shows the detailed logs for the operation for: idsv0018.
Status: FAILED: Global Catalog port status error.
    Can anyone help?
I believe,  because this error, I can't search group of AD, at Cisco ISE.
FYI: the connection from Cisco ISE to AD, joined with successful result.
    Thanks,
    Jerri

It's clears that when ISE tries to  find the GC using the _gc._tcp. DNS query. It doesn't find that  information on the Domain controller. The GC information is missing on  the DC.
    gc._tcp.DnsForestName
Allows a client to locate a Global Catalog (gc) server for this domain.

  • HTTP_GET - Port 80 error: NIECONN_REFUSED

    Hi Experts,
I'm extracting data thru FM HTTP_GET, It is working fine if I provides the RFC destination as SAPHTTP (which runs on front end).
But If I provides RFC destination as SAPHTTPA (which runs on App.Server) it is giving Error as follows.
'Connect Error: Connect to Host inpt.co.uk Port 80 error: NIECONN_REFUSED'
    What would be the problem?
    Requesting your help.
    Thanks.

Not being familiar with Parallels, I need more information about the Network changes you made to get Firefox to work while booted in Windows. Were these changes to your Network Panel in System Preferences, or to the Network config. on the Windows side?
As far as your OS X Network setup is concerned, you can delete the preference file com.apple.networkConfig.plist found in your HD>Library>Preferences folder. Then, you'll need to reconfigure the Network settings. Here's some guidance (assuming you are using either an Airport or Ethernet Cable Connection (not DSL).
Go to the System Preferences>Network panel
    - Location - set up a personal location by clicking on the drop down menu and selecting "add a location". Use a name familiar to you. Once established, select "apply".
    - Next, click on the "Show" drop down menu and select Network Port Configurations. Only Ethernet (or Airport) ought to be checked. Move it to the top of the list (you can drag it). Select "apply".
    - Back to the "Show" menu, depending on your connection select "Ethernet" or "Airport". Click on the TCP panel. There, enter 208.67.222.222 and
208.67.220.220 (separate lines) in the DNS servers box and select "apply".
Creating a personal location, plus adding the DNS codes seems to speed things up. Otherwise, the "automatic" function has a tendency to "search" for available locations.

  • After ejecting a disk plugged into the USB port using Finder, I am now getting "The disk was not properly ejected" message.  This didn't used to happen.  How can this be corrected?

After ejecting a disk plugged into the USB port using Finder, I am now getting "The disk was not properly ejected" message.  This didn't used to happen.  How can this be corrected?

When you right (control) click on the disk and click eject "disk name", do you pull it immeadiatly or wait a few seconds for it to unmount? Try waiting and see if you get the same message. If you do, when the disk is connected go to applications/utilities/disk utility, after opening DU, select the volume in question from the left side bar and try a permissions repair, you may also run verify disk and see if it comes up with any errors (they will be in red)

  • BPEL TCP Ports using RejectionMessage.wsdl

    Hi all
I´m having a problem with ports used by BPEL server on IAS and on OC4J.
I was designing a BPEL process which uses RejectionMessage.wsdl file (provided by BPEL server). I was following Oracle instructions to do that:
    <import namespace="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/rejectionHandler"
    location="http://localhost:9700/orabpel/xmllib/jca/RejectionMessage.wsdl"/>
But this file has a reference to another file:
    <import namespace="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/errorHandling" schemaLocation="http://localhost:7779/orabpel/xmllib/jca/JCAErrorHandling.xsd"/>
    But look at this:
    Port_____OC4J___________IAS
    7777_____Not Used_______Used
    7779_____Not Used_______Not Used
    9700_____Used__________Not Used
    So:
If I edit RejectionMessage.wsdl to references JCAErrorHandling.xsd on port 9700, it get´s work on my OC4J development machine, but stops at IAS production machine
If I edit RejectionMessage.wsdl to references JCAErrorHandling.xsd on port 7777, it stops to work on my OC4J development machine, but get´s work at IAS production machine.
    What is your recomendation?
    Thanks at all

    Hi Clements
    Ok, thanks for your answer.
Have you already used RejectionMessage.wsdl with a File Adapter?
The problem I´m facing now is that the message sent (to my dedicated BPEL Process which implements RejectionMessage.wsdl interface) by the File Adapter when a fault occurs has very poor content. If I look at BPEL server log the fault has a complete explanation...
Is there a way to get the complete error message?

  • File in use error - copying from a faulty external hard drive

    Hi,
I have a 750GB Western Digital external hard drive, which contains two partitions - (1) HDBACKUP - a Time Machine backup of my laptop drive, and (2) MEDIA - pictures including an Aperture library, and videos.
When I plug the drive in, only the MEDIA partition mounts. And I get an error saying Disk Utility cannot repair the drive and to backup the files as soon as I can, and reformat the drive.
When I try to copy the files onto another drive using Finder, it copies part of the file and then gives me a "File in use" error and stops. I tried copying via Terminal and its the same - this time I get a "Resource busy" error.
There are no other apps accessing the files. And this happens for every file on the drive.
So how do I go about copying the files off the drive?
I tried using DiskWarrior but it was stuck on Step 1 - Searching for Volume Information, after 3 hours.
I really need to get the Aperture Library off the drive. Any ideas on how I can copy it across?
    Thanks

This did not work. I still get an error trying to repair with Disk Utility.
    It gets to
    Starting repair tool:
    Checking file system
    Checking Journaled HFS Plus volume.
    Checking extents overflow file.
    Checking catalog file.
    Checking multi-linked files.
    Checking catalog hierarchy.
    Checking extended attributes file.
The volume MEDIA could not be verified completely.
    Volume repair complete.
Updating boot support partitions for the volume as required.
Error: Disk Utility can’t repair this disk. Back up as many of your files as possible, reformat the disk, and restore your backed-up files.
So DiskUtility tells me to backup as many files as possible. However, when I try copying these files, I get a "File in use" error.

  • Sun would like your help with the "System Name Already In Use"  error

A couple of users have reported getting an erroneous "System Name Already in Use" error when re-registering a system after a fresh Solaris re-install. We'd like your help in tracking down this problem.
    The scenario is this:
    * Install Solaris 10 and register with updatemanager,
    * Wipe out the installation and re-install Solaris.
    * re-register with updatemanager.
The system erroneously reports that the system name is already in use. It is supposed to detect a duplicate registration of the same system.
We have not been able to reproduce this error in our lab.
If this has happened to you, would you let us know at [email protected]?
Here are the things that we would like to ask of you:
    * If you run "updatemanager -debug" if will create a log file /tmp/basicreg<timestamp>.log.
    * Details on the exact hardware you have (make/model/configuration).
    * Details on the steps you took to get to the bad state. REALLY detailed!
    Thanks!
Based on what we know now, we believe you can work around the issue by either:
    * Changing the host name and re-registering.
    * Creating a different user account and registering the host to that account.
Some previously-posted workarounds are known NOT to work:
    * Wait 24 hours and try again.
    * Do some "ccr" incantations and try again.

    Hi,
Can you drop me an email as i am a sun employee and i will be able to check if the swup frontline team have received any support cases on this issue and then we can work with you directly to resolve the issue.
