Empty box received, no response from seller, claim opened, paypal says to send item back

Item is a 30" lawnmower blade and by the looks of the box it slipped out of the bottom during shipment.  I called seller initially and he said they would send another and file a claim with the carrier.  I waited about 2 weeks and still no item so I left voicemails over the course of a couple days, also emailed the seller with no response. I opened claim with paypal and they said they ruled in my favor, but need tracking info showing that I sent the item back to the seller.  Do I really need to pay more $ and spend more time shipping an empty box?  This does not make sense and it has been a month (6/19) since I paid for the item. I have tried calling paypal and there is a series of 5-6 advertisements, then it says to call a different number which goes to a completely different company for phone/internet service. I emailed paypal about this and got a generic response with links to some FAQs.   What would you do?

That's all terrible. Just for clarification, this is a peer to peer forum. I am guessing that you posted this here to have others be aware of this. You most likely won't get a response from a VZW rep here and if you do it may not be fruitful.
I can also tell you that a store rep doesn't have the ability to change the shipping address unless it is done at the time of the order. It is correct that to change the shipping address the tracking number has to be generated and then VZW has to fill out a form with FedEx and that could delay the package by up to 48 hours. I don't know how you received 2 packages BUT when VZW sends a device they make a note of the ESN on your account with the package's tracking number. If, in deed, their records indicate that 2 devices were sent they can easily rectify this situation. How? It is simple.
1.) Take note of the ESN on your current device. Take the battery out and it is on the sticker. It will most likely begin with 99.
2.) Call them. I know that you don't want to do this but insist that they look through the notes and confirm the ESNs that were sent to determine which one is on your account and which one is the missing one.
3.) Have them input the ESN in to the system and see if it is activated on another account. If it is, they won't tell you who has it but they should easily see that it isn't you.
This can also be done in a corporate VZW store. Not that you'd want to but if the store that Brian works at is one, I would go back there.
Hope this information helps you start to get to the bottom of this. It shouldn't be on us to do any legwork but we have to be proactive when it comes to our money.

    Sounds like you have a battry issue but don't want to believe it.
    If a car was running fine on one tank of gas, then you filled it up with another tank of gas and it began to run funny, one might suspect that tank of gas. But let's just say coincidence blew a valve-- would you think the new tank of gas was the culprit?
    BUT WAIT!! It just might have been! The gas could have been of higher octane and put more more strain on the valves; you know, like going from 87 octane (OS6) to 93 octane (OS7) and showing you the engine was on the edge of compromise.
    Sometimes you have to go with common sense. If everything else is ruled out, it must be the battery. And if it runs fine one moment in OS6 but immediately ***** in OS7, I'd believe my battery was suspect-- though comfy-- in OS6 but the OS7 showed its true power.
    Moreover, if you had the answer-- or didn't want to believe someone's more competent advice-- why did you even call?  You've already shown that you don't know much when you asked if you could go backwards after setting up the new OS as a new phone.
    Additonally, if you're such the know-it-all, but yourself the $29 battery and put it in yourself. It's a piece of cake.

    How large are the files?  It is possible your e-mail provider has put a limit on attachments to e-mail.

  • Empty box received from Verizon via FedEx

    On March 16, 2015 I ordered an upgrade to my cell phone. The new phone was sent via FedEx and was delivered on 3/20. Upon opening the package, there was no cell phone in the box. The box had appeared sealed and we had no reason to suspect any it might be empty.  Checking on the internet I found out that this has happened to a lot of others. If you google “Verizon empty box delivery” you will see that this has happened many times to other people. I am beginning to believe that either Verizon or FedEx is running a scam to steal phones at the customers expense.
    We immediately contacted FedEx and Verizon and informed them of the mission phone. When you call them you get a different customer service representative (CSR) every time you call. Both FedEx assured they would investigate the missing phone. After repeated calls to FedEx and Verizon , we were assured there would be an investigation and they would call me. The last Verizon CSR I talked to said the investigation would take 2 weeks. I waited the 2 weeks and heard nothing from them. It seems I am getting the run around by both FedEx and Verizon. The CSR’s that come on the line when we call is always a different one, if fact they are located in different parts of the country. We never get to talk to anyone in authority that might be able to resolve this issue.
    To add insult to injury, Verizon has informed me that they will be charging me $299 for not returning the old phone the stolen one was to replace.
    Can anyone help me?

    In situations like this an empty box could have been sent by verizon. On the box label look to see if the weight is listed.
    In most situations a call to verizon informing them that the box was empty will have them deal with the carrier.
    Once a package is signed for it releases verizon and you could try and get a claim in from FedEx but that is iffy.
    Now you have a choice, call your bank or credit card company and have them reverse the payment you made to verizon.
    After this is done contact them and inform that you reversed the charge because verizon sent an empty box, or the device was stolen in transit. Please tell them that your child who hopefully is not age 18 or older cannot sign for a package due to not of the age where it states on the label, "Adult Signature Only" FedEx violated their own policy.
    When on the phone with verizon tell them to send you another phone.
    You can also take verizon and FedEx to small claims court to have your phone. Or compensation of some degree.

    on December 24, 2013 5:30 PM received both the packages from UPS I signed and took the both the packages and I tried to open the box I found the box is already open, inside the box I found another iPhone 5s Box with out any polythin wrap, i opened the iphone box and the phone is missing. Immediately i went out and look for the UPS guy, he already left.
    I contacted Apple Support 1-800-MY-APPLE, It asked for my web order, and then it tried to forward the call to an executive and got disconnected saying no one is available right now please call later.  As it is a holiday season no one is available.
    Can any one help me from where should i start?

  • Why hasn't my problem from 10/26 received a response from Apple tech support as of a month later?

    Back on 10/26, I began a discussion about an iPhone iOS 7 glitch which was an issue for my work.  It has been a month and there has been no response from anybody representing Apple.  Are Apple Support Communities merely manned by non-staff, volunteer effort or has some staffer missed my post?  Could someone from Apple Support in the iPhone department please answer my post from 10/26?  Our campus of nearly all Apple products of which I am in charge is at the end of our campus-wide AT&T phone contracts.  It's getting pretty hard to convince our board that Apple is "the way to go" when the user-focused philosophy is waning so significantly that it's led to constantly increasing IT time & $$.  If you want a more detailed list of issues we've got concerns about check out my follow-up reply to the post https://discussions.apple.com/message/23530965#23530965 shown in my image below.  I'd love to ask about those issues, too, but Apple Support Communities won't even respond to a mere iOS7 phone glitch post.  I'm disappointed.  Apple has been phenomonal in the past and we've been very appreciative.  Please help me and give me some relief as I fight the board to keep our organization Apple-based.

    Adobe software now has updaters built in. Try the following:
    * Windows Control Panel > Flash Player > Advanced tab > "Check Now" button
    * Adobe Reader (10 or 11) > Help > Check for Updates...

    My photos on iphotos just became empty boxes, bordered by white intermittent lines. If I click on a photo it comes up, but I can't see what each photo is at a glance. Any ideas how to resolve this? thanks

    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the options to rebuild the thumbnails.

  • Unable to receive SOAP response from a web service

    We used the sun java platform 9 for our web service, sun java wireless toolkit 2.2.
    The SOAP message contains the hex string representation of an audio recording which is 32,088 bytes large. The phone memory usage while retrieving the soap message is 1105248 bytes. This is a 2 second audio recording. Any audio soap message longer than 2 seconds, the application does not complete the retrieval although the memory usage is much lower than the usage in the 2 second audio recording.
    What else could be the cause of the problem since we ruled out the memory usage already?

    Answered on my own:
    Just have to use
    x_result = http_client->response->get_data( ).
    instead of
    x_result = http_client->response->to_xstring( ).
    Just don't knwo why the filesize is wrong also - but I can work with this image!

  • Problem sending photos by Email.  Received a response from T. Devlin.  Did not solve problem.  I had already done what he suggested.

    I had already entered my Email info under preferences.
    The screen comes up with the photos I want to send.
    I type my message and hit Send.  The blue bar appears "Sending".
    However,  don't know where the photos go, they don't reach destination.
    I tried sending to myself at another Email address - they didn't arrive, and they are not shown under Sent Emails either.
    How to resolve?
    Tried to respond to T. Devlin - but that didn't happen either.  Just a Like symbol was there (as in Facebook).

    Which MacOS X version are you using and which iPhoto version?

  • How do I reset my security questions? I do not have a reset questions link and have not received a response from Apple!

    Apple has been no help. Emailed me to call and ask them to reset my questions, tried to call and got told that I did not have apple support registered to my phone. Even though it is nothing to do with the actual phone.
