Empty Payload Hangs Server

I am using Oracle 8.1.7.3 with Advanced Queuing on Win2k and have run into a strange problem. I attempted to queue a JMS_BYTES_MESSAGE that contained no payload. After queuing the suspect message, all dequeuing for that queue ceases to work. Messages can still be queued but no messages can be dequeued.
I delete the messages from the queue and it does not help. I have tried stop and resarting the queue, to no avail. I have found that I have to restart the server instance and then I am able to delete the queue and recreate it.
I realize a zero byte payload may not be correct but I would not think I should have to restart the server either.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
   This issue has been resolved, the issue was with the Biztalk webServices.

  • Ignore empty Payload

    Hello All,
    I have a Proxy-PI-SOAP scenario. There are situations when proxy generates messages with no payload. In that situation, it throws an error in PI (RWB -> Message Monitoring -> AE) as there is no node getting generated.
    I can apply the rule in Proxy code not to send the message to PI in case there is no payload, but business won't allow that.
    So, I have to handle this in PI.
    I can't use the dummy receiver, as it will again throw an error in case it is unable to find the receiver (I can't create a dummy receiver on the Prod box as per my Client).
    I would like to know what other option I am left with? I don't want to encounter any errors in the MONI or elsewhere. How I can "stop" the processing of those messages which are having empty payload?
    Just to add - I am using XSLT mapping.
    Any suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

    Hi Abhi,
    You can use the "Ignore" option in the Receiver Determination. Put a condition for the root node existence, if found send the message to the desired target else use the option "If no receiver is found" and check the radio button "Ignore".
    Just to let you know that with Ignore option, the messages will still show successful in RWB.
    Hope this helps.

  • Empty payload for idoc adapter

    Hello,
    I have a file to idoc scenario with an xslt mapping. Normaly after the mapping the idoc looks like:
    <wpwuw>-
         <idoc>...</idoc>
         <idoc>...</idoc>
    </wpwuw>
    Because of the business requirements in some cases the mapping should not generate an idoc. That means I have to create an empty payload.
    The problem is that the idoc adapter creates an error for all kinds of empty messages.
    a) empty payload
    b) empty trading segment  ( <wpwuw></wpwuw> )
    c) empty idoc segment  ( <wpwuw>-<idoc/>-</wpwuw> )
    Any idea what I can do not to get an error from the idoc adapter ?
    Regards Bernd

    HI
    instead of creating empty paylaod. Use conditional(enhanced for mapping & standard for condition on Xpath) receiver determination for this and dont generate IDOC for the specified conditions.
    Thanks

  • SOLVED: SPA2102, WRP400, SPA8000, SRP521 and SRP521-U FAX NSE fails with empty Payload c0000000

    Hi Experts.
    In my SIP network there is a Cisco PGW 9.6(1) used as PSTN gateway. PGW call agent controls many Cisco AS5400 via MGCP. We use Linksys SPA2102 to connect fax and modem devices.
    Both PGW and AS5400 are configured to support FAX passthrough upspeeding via NSE event. Also SPA2102 devices are configured to support FAX passthrough NSE.
    After many tests and debugs I see that SPA2102 doesn't recognize NSE event sent from AS5400.
    From debug and wireshark traces you can see that AS5400 sends NSE 192 event correctly (see attachments).
    So I've try to compare this scenario with a working one. The only difference is in the Payload content of NSE messages.
    With AS5400 the Payload is c0000000. I think tath this is an empty payload while with different gateway or ATA the payload is c096c4e. In this last case SPA detects correctly NSE message.
    Is this a BUG of SPA2102?
    Thanks.

    Hi experts, I updated this post after several months because we need information about the status of this issue.
    Now we are using the firmware 2.00.21 for WRP400 (a beta) and the firmware 5.2.10 for SPA2102 devices.
    No news about next release of WRP400 and the last software for SPA 5.2.12 doesn't fix this issue.
    Now we must take a decision for buying thousand CPE for current year. If this issue will not fixed during this month we will be forced to change products and vendor !!!
    I hope in a your positive response.

  • Enhanced Interface Determination gives Empty Payload

    Hi,
    I am using Enhanced Interface Determination in my scenario.
    1:3 Message Types(Interfaces).
    The thing is that split occurs, but after Message Mapping I get empty Payloads..
    I am using External Definitions instead of Message types.
    Another question: Can there be multiple dynamic confgiurations during splits. i.e one Dynamic Configuration for each message split.
    Note: testing the Interface mapping from IR with payload from MONI gives proper output.
    Regards,
    Sundar.

    Hi All,
    I copied the entire XML which i used for testing in Interface Mapping which i should not have....
    I gave as

                ....         </Coverage>
          </ns1:SAP_HR_MT>
       </ns0:Message1>
    </ns0:Messages>
    But the input should have been
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

    now the output is perfectly coming....:-)

    Would it be possible to enhance the discovery vbs script to exclude empty USER/Software/IBM/WebSphere Application Server key folder in the next version?

    I have contacted IIS forum support.
    Please review the link: http://forums.iis.net/p/1213109/2079229.aspx?Re+Windows+Server+2012+Printing+using+UNC+path+not+working
    Their final response:
    Printing from ASP.NET using System.Drawing.Printing itself is a horrible approach, as this namespace was designed for Windows Forms only. The designers did not take everything about ASP.NET in mind, so any issue can happen. That can answer why the HP model
    works while the Samsung fails, as the HP one just "happens
    to work",
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.drawing.printing.printdocument.aspx
    Similarly, System.Printing was designed just for WPF.
    About which printing API to use in ASP.NET/IIS, there is no clear answer so far. Thus, your only resource is Microsoft support, who can perform further analysis (with their dedicate utilities and of course Windows source code) and might come across a solution
    to help you out. This is not a trivial scenario.

  • Problem in Server Admin: cpu and network graphs not updated or empty after lion server update

    Hi!
    Just for archive purpouses because i've already solved that!
    After upgrading from OSX Server 10.7 to 10.7.1 my CPU and Network graphs in Server Admin stop being updated.
    In 24h the graphs where blank (disk usage graph seem to keep working).
    First i read about "what is the application responsible for this"; it's called ServerPerfLog, and you can see if it's running that way:
         # ps ax | grep ServerPerf
    If you don't see anything else than your own "grep", that means that no application is running, no data is being collected.
         41324 s000  R+     0:00.00 grep ServerPerf
    A positive response for this (meaning that the service is running) should be something like that (2 lines: your grep and the service app itself):
         94   ??  Ss     0:04.71 /usr/libexec/ServerPerfLog
         41344 s000  R+     0:00.00 grep ServerPerf
    Later i read about "where is the config file for this service app", and you can find it here:
         /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.ServerPerfLog.plist
    If you edit this config file, check that the "Key > Disabled" is set to "False"
         # vi /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.ServerPerfLog.plist
            <key>Disabled</key>
            <false/>
    After that, i try to launch the service that updates this graphs again, by hand, performing the following command:
         # sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.ServerPerfLog.plist
    And the service got launch!!! yeeeepa!! i see a first update in graph data.
    Also the "ps" query reply that the service was running!!
    The bad things came a day after, when i saw that the graphs stop again....
    I check if the service was running executing again the "ps" command, and that show me that the service was stopped again; no ServerPerfLog process was running.
    But r e l a x, because the process hang because of a permissions problem.
    You should know, I run "Repair permissions" within "Disk Utilities" over the running system disk, eeee... voila!
    I hope that helps someone to get his fancy graphs back!

  • PI 7.0 connecting to WebSphere MQ - Empty payload by reciever channel

    I have PI 7.0 connecting to WMQ 6.0 using JMS adapter.
    The scenario in technical terms is a IDoc to JMS scenario. For one of the message flows, PI delivered an empty message to the MQ queue.
    Having checked the audit logs and the MessagingSystem etc, there were no clues why this happened.
    In the Message monitoring, on the content tab , in the drop down, i could only see the SOAP envelope. The message content wasnt available in the drop down at all.
    Any clues why this may have happened?
    There is no content conversion and we are delivering XML to the queues.

    hi,
    In the Message monitoring, on the content tab , in the drop down, i could only see the SOAP envelope. The message content wasnt available in the drop down at all.
    Ok, but here you see the message received by your JMS, so the interest is limited. You need to compare your source message (idoc) to your target message (JMS). here's how to check.
    Go to SXMB_MONI,  select your message and then "detail" button.
    In the left tree, open the FIRST level called "Inbound Message (CENTRAL)". And under this level check your Payload (should be your Idoc sent by ECC).
    Then, in the same left tree, go to a level before "Call adapter", for instance in "XML validation Outbound Channel Request". Under this level, check your Payload (that should the XML sent to your JMS). Note: do not go in "response" level, because there is certainly no payload.
    What do you have ? does your target payload is empty ? (certainly yes)
    if yes,  that's mean it's your mapping that something is wrong. Certainly a bad context management, due to a missing "SpliByValue" or something like that. And you certainly have one target message with the content of two idoc segment, whereas this one is empty.
    To know which mapping link is bad, in SXMB_MONI, download the source message (so under level "Inbound Message (CENTRAL)", and test it i your Message Mapping.

  • Variable Substituition throwing an error for empty payload

    Hi All,
    I am using variable substituition in the receiver file adapter...
    Everything is working fine and the variable substituion is working and creating a file whenever the payload in the mapping has the filenode field for variable substituition.
    Now  based on some condition the payload will be empty in the mapping then no file to be created...
    For this i used IGNORE in the receiver adapter BUT still an empty file is being created, this is because the payload will have the filenode field ...
    Now my question is how can we stop in creating an empty file...
    Even i tried using Dynamic Variable in the mapping but that to throws an error...
    Please suggest me on how to solve this...

    Make sure that the node is not created itself in the mapping so that you will not have the issue.

    2.
    I must write log file with FileAdapter . I want to append file so I add attribute Append=true

    I view class FileInteractionSpec that have append properties .I very confuse.

  • 'ps -ef' command hangs - server needs hard boot

    I have a strange issue that has now occurred twice on two different physical servers running OEL 5.6. One server runs Oracle databases and one runs Netbackup.
    Server one ran to 100% on the oracle binary directory. The DBA did an 'rm' to remove files and create space. At this point the server seemed to become unstable and when issueing a 'ps -ef' or an 'ls' I got partial output then the server would hang. crtl-c would not even break it. A hard reboot cleared the issue.
    Server two had an issue where the Netbackup binary library went above 91% and the admin used 'rm' to clean up some large log files. There was no issue immediately, but sometime druing the night the server stopped running some processes. We could not connect through the Netbackup Admin Console. I issued the 'ps -ef' and got the same unstable response. A hard reboot was needed.
    In both cases the server was not sowing any issue with cpu, memory, or io. the load was minimal. also, a 'ps -e' would work fine. In both cases the 'reboot' command never worked. I would get 'shutting down for system reboot' but it would not proceed, requiring a hard reboot.
    There were messages about 'clearing orphaned inodes' during the post of each reboot.
    I would like to understand what may have been occuring, if it was related to the binary filesystems becoming full and then having files removed, and what would be a method to troubleshoot as the issue is occuring.
    Thank you.

    Your observation that the system was unresponsive after using "ps -ef" does not necessarily mean there is a problem with the "ps" command. I think if there was such a serious problem that the ps -ef command could freeze the system then it was more commonly known. I still think your problem is rather system resource or hardware related, but of course, I could be wrong. For what it's worth, you could verify you have the latest procps package installed: http://public-yum.oracle.com/repo/OracleLinux/OL5/latest/x86_64/procps-3.2.7-18.el5.x86_64.rpm.
    There can be many reasons for a system to freeze. Problems that can cause such issues can also be external, for instance, network issues, NFS issues, etc. Anyway, you could try to install strace (yum install strace) and then use strace ps -ef to get some clue where it hangs.

  • JDBC query hangs server

    I have a very weird case when a particular JDBC query kills weblogic server. Attached
    is a thread dump. What's weird is:
    1. There is only one client on the system, and I sware the client sends only one
    request. At the same time there are 12 threads trying to execute the same query.
    2. The query is at the start of thread dump and it takes ~9sec to execute on our
    DB from SQL+. It returns ~300 records. If I change parameters it will be executed
    fine. Each time a client wants to execute a query before it is executed it is
    dumped to log, and there is only one query per all threads in the dump.
    3. Looking into DB log there is no sight of the query that is dumped into log
    file. DB does not have a clue... Both DB and WLS are waiting for each other...
    Environment:
    6.1sp2 on solaris
    Oracle 8.1.7
    JDBC driver from Oracle 9i
    [x.txt]

    There were two problems: request got hanging in the database (original) with proxy
    timing out and making situation worse (sending more requests). 9.2.0.1 did not
    have the original problem (statement did not hang), but the price was too high
    (data corruption) :( Also the problem was very touchy - we got only two environments
    which were duplicating it. This last mail was more on the whining side - hope
    that someone seen something similar and can say a-ha! So I guess I'm back in slow
    and painful try to reproduce and then fix mode... Most likely it all will end
    up with SQL tuning, not app level solution...

    Unfortunately the story is not completely over.
    We found that the new driver in some cases garbles the data. That happenson updates
    when WLS is changing object and the first parameter in the updatestatement is
    string. Sounds weird, so here more details:
    - We found that some strings in the database are garbled.
    - JDBC trace brought us to update statements. It looks like for eachupdate container
    creates prepared statement and sets parameters on it.
    - If the first parameter is a string then it will be garbled (happenswith
    two
    independant objects).
    The problem is defenitely driver-specific. It does not show up withany
    driver
    but 9.2.0.1. All previous drivers work right, but 9.0.1 that we usedbefore had
    the problem described in the thread, and 8.x work at least 10 timesslower
    (no
    kidding).
    Test app which connects to the same oracle instance and executes thestatement
    from JDBC log works fine (sure it does). Adding nls_charset to classpathdoes
    not make any difference. Attempt to create statement from within WLSwas
    not taken.
    Solution was even more bizzare. Since it was happening only when thefirst
    attribute
    was string we shuffled attributes and the problem went away. But Ido not
    believe
    that is a solution - IMHO that just masks the problem.
    Any and all brignt and not-so-much ideas are welcome.

  • Crystal viewer is empty (Crystal Report Server with Visual Studio)

    Hello everyone,
    I've some issues to display a basic report from a Crystal Server 2013 and Visual Studio 2010
    Below, the code:
    WebForm1.aspx.cs
    CrystalReport's DLL are in revision 14.0.3500
    using CrystalDecisions.Enterprise;
    using CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.Viewing;
    using CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers;
    using CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ClientDoc;
    SessionMgr sessionMgr = new SessionMgr();
    string username = "Administrator";
    string password = "password";
    string server = "server-name";
    string auth_type = "secEnterprise";
    EnterpriseSession enterpriseSession = sessionMgr.Logon(
                     username, password, server, auth_type);
    EnterpriseService enterpriseService = enterpriseSession.GetService("InfoStore");
    InfoStore infoStore = new InfoStore(enterpriseService);
    enterpriseService = enterpriseSession.GetService("RASReportFactory");
    Object psrfObject = enterpriseService.Interface;
    ReportAppFactory psReportFactory = (ReportAppFactory)psrfObject;
    string queryString = "Select * From CI_INFOOBJECTS "
                    + "Where SI_PROGID='CrystalEnterprise.Report' "
                    + "And SI_NAME Like 'TestRapportTexte'";
    InfoObjects infoObjects = infoStore.Query(queryString);
    InfoObject infoObject = infoObjects[1];
    ReportClientDocument client = new ReportClientDocumentClass();
    client = psReportFactory.OpenDocument(infoObject.ID, 0);
    CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = client;
    WebForm1.aspx
    <CR:CrystalReportViewer  ID="CrystalReportViewer1" runat="server" AutoDataBind="True"
                            Height="550px" Width="1300px" BestFitPage="False"/>
    The project has 7 references from Crystal:
    CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine
    CrystalDecisions.Entreprise.Framework
    CrystalDecisions.Entreprise.InfoStore
    CrystalDecisions.Entreprise.Viewing.ReportSource
    CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ClientDoc
    CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers
    CrystalDecisions.Web
    Actually, I have no error and no exception but the 'CrystalReportViewer' is always empty.
    In the C# file, ReportClientDocument client seems OK with the ID and the name of the report.
    Thanks for your feedback

    Hi Marie
    As you are using RAS I'd like you to have a look at a sample application called "NET-CS2003 RAS-Managed BE115 Add Tool-Tip" available for download from here:
    Look at the code as used in the viewer.espx.cs page and pattern your code on that.
