Engineer appointment cancelled without notificatio...

Hey,
We ordered Infinity option 2 on 21 April 2011 and it is supposed to be activated this Friday (13th May).
However, it now says "Your appointment is no longer required, as our engineer can connect your line without requiring access to your premises. The engineer will work to connect your line at the exchange."
I have done a bit of searching, and it seems an engineer visit is definitely needed for an Infinity installation. Could someone confirm whether or not this is the case, and if so, what my next step should be?
Thanks!

Hi there,
Just a heads-up If I were you, I would edit out your VOL number from your post; it is personal to you and shouldn't be disclosed publicly, for security reasons. I would also consider editing out your username and password details for the same reason.
I hope this info helps.

  • Re: BT cancelling Engineer appointment

Hi i recently ordered BT infinity and on my order confirmation it says it will be activated on 17th June and the engineer appointment was booked for same day. When i tracked my order today it says the appointment with the engineer has been cancelled as they do not require access to the premises. I already know that the engineer definately needs into the premises as they brings the new Modem with them. I dont know where to go from here as i rang Customer Service and was given very vague answers and i am still none the wiser. any help appreciated.

It looks like the Infinity Install is not going ahead for some reason, possibly cab not ready yet or fault somewhere. Give them another call and ask them to explain in laymans terms what is happening.
If you still cannot get a answer get in touch with the mods:

My order about a macbook pro was cancelled without reason, the best buy email just says "We're sorry, but your items have been canceled because we could not verify some of your information." and i didn't receive the refund!! I need help urgently, thanks

    Hello guigapsouza,
I'm disappointed to read that your order was cancelled and that the funds that were put on hold have not yet been released. Certainly, I regret any inconvenience to you as a result of this experience.
When an order is placed on BestBuy.com, a hold is placed on the funds in your account to ensure that they are available when the order is shipped and billed. If an order is canceled, the hold may not be removed by your bank for a few business days afterward. In order to have the hold removed more promptly, I recommend contacting your bank directly for further assistance.
I hope this helps. I'm grateful that you took the time to write to us with your concern.

  • Cancelling without core automatically

We're running 4.7 Enterprise on WAS Kernel 6.20.  Is there a profile parm or some way to NOT create a core dump when a process cancels?  Maybe similar to the 'Cancel without Core' option in SM50?

    Hi Tony,
This is an OS user parameter. Depending on your OS this is a different parameter.

  • Late BT Engineer appointment.

Hello everyone, I placed an order for BT Infinity Option 2 on the 2nd of July 2010 and my engineer appointment to install it was for today 15th July 2010 between 8AM and 1PM. So I took today off work and it's just after 4PM now and I have not had a call from the engineer so far. I'm not sure who to contact to find out what the problem is, if there is one, or should I just continue to wait? Thank you for your help in advance!

I have a similar problem and cant get to the bottom of it and I was sourced to a call centre which was clearly off shore so I saw little point in creating on the phone. I arranged my services to be swapped on the 1 July 2010, they arranged for an engineer to attend my property for an AFTERNOON  appointment 1pm - 6pm on the 22 July. I was working so I arranged for my mother to attend the appointment on my behalf. I even provided her contact details should there be a problem!
Well today they arrived and left a message on my mobile stating that they were outside my property, this was at 10.50am! I then spent the next half an hour trying to sort this out as the engineer said that it would be logged as being 'unable to gain access'. AMAZING! I had arranged for an afternoon appointment specifically for personal reasons something I am not for a moment doubting myself.
I have just spent 40 mins trying to get through initially tonight and then when I get to the off shore call centre, they cant get to me until the 10th August!!!!!!! FFS thats another two weeks waiting! This is a joke and I cant even find a number or an email or anything in relation to this to complain to! I am not happy at all, no phone calls, just one email which didnt even have the time confirmation on it! No letters except a bill for last month!!!!
Not happy and want something done! If I get charged for anything I will go balistic!!!!!
    Someone please help!

  • Technician Appointment Cancelled at the last minute, Service then delayed 1 Week.

I am hugely disappointed in how Verizon handled my scheduled appointment to have an ONT box fixed after having no fios internet/phone/tv service for 4 days in the Northern Virginia area. They then cancelled it on the day of said appointment (today) and will be delaying the service for another week. During a short power outage on a Thursday night (July 30) the internet, phone and tv services went out despite the electricity coming back on. I called Verizon Support the next morning and was put on hold for over 30 minutes only to have the CSR give/hang up on me. He said "I am going to run some tests", put me on hold, spoke about more "tests", hung up and did not call back despite me providing my 2 mobile phone numbers. I called back again and waited another 20 minutes to speak to a different CSR who was clear and more professional. He diagnosed the issue and determined the ONT and BBU likely needed to be replaced and scheduled for a technician to come on Monday 8am-12pm August 3rd. Keep in mind that is 4 days without internet. I am a software engineer and university student who needs to use internet for school and work/business that cannot wait weeks or even days on end. However, the CSR promised that this was the earliest time he could schedule and reassured me the technicians would be there. I understood, and I patiently waited.   Its Monday morning 8:30am, I get a ticket confirmation reminder via phone that the technician will be there 8am-12pm. So I planned to take off work during this time. 10:00am
I get a automated call saying that the technician appointment has been cancelled and rescheduled to Thursday Aug. 6! No email, no voicemail reminder, no explanation, just a machine call... I am confused, believe this to be a mistake and call support, which takes 15 minutes to reach a CSR. 10:20am
CSR responds and tries to see if he can get answers as to why dispatch has made such a long delay last minute. Dispatch puts him on hold for over 15 minutes. It is worth noting that during this time CSR was noticeably frustrated with the slow response time of the dispatcher and problems with the scheduling system, and for some reason insisted on sharing this with me, perhaps mistakenly assuming the excuse could be used as justification. As a responsible and paying customer, I am not interested in Verizon’s internal failures. I am interested in timely, responsible communication and action, especially when scheduled/promised in advance. The CSR said there was nothing he could do even after trying to find an available technician through a dispatch scheduler. He ran some more failed tests on my ONT, and offered his sympathies as well as a callback if anything changes. I did appreciate his help and thanked him.  Appalling and Unprofessional. Should I even expect the Verizon technician arrive at all on Thursday Aug. 6 or to arrive at an unexpectedly out of the timeframe like many others have experienced here online?I feel it is my duty to inform Verizon and as many customers I can so that problems like can be quickly solved in the future. I expect Verizon to take this and other complaints into serious consideration and make corrections to permanently amend and improve the situation. It is a minimum to expect positive and clear communication in CSRs as well as professionalism and coordination from technical services. I will send this through all avenues of communication with Verizon: mail, online forum, and the Better Business Bureau until a positive response is received from the other end.

  • Technician Appointment Cancelled at the last minute

I noted in perusing this forum that there are many similar complaints about scheduling, cancelling, and rescheduling service appointments because Verizon customer service schedules too many calls for each technician, gives priority to health care and businesses over residential customers, and apparently does not employ enough technicians to provide service in a timely manner.  It is also extremely difficult to get hold of an actual human being to express a need or complaint.  We were without residential phone service for 2 or 3 days because of these issues. We have sent an email to the technician's supervisor; however, the problem was with customer service--not the technician.  He did a good job once he was able to get here. Whoever is monitoring these forums for Verizon needs to note that the type of problem we experienced is common and it should be communicated to someone at a high level (such as a vice president) who is responsible for customer service.  Your policies for scheduling service calls is about the worst I have seen from any vendor--and by the way part of our problem was with inside wiring for which I have been paying a maintenance fee for many, many years.  If you provide me with the contact information for the VP who is responsible for customer services, I will gladly communicate directly with him or her. Verizon service issues: 1)      Monday, July 27: Called Verizon to report the phone problem. Had to deal with the automated that requested a PIN that we didn’t have. Eventually, I got to a person (using the phone jack outside the house a different Verizon phone number) that attempted to diagnose problems in the house. When that didn’t work, he scheduled a service appointment for Tuesday, July 28, between 8 am and noon. Later I received a text message confirming an appointment between 8 am and 10 am. 2)      Tuesday, July 28: No one showed up by 10 am. I contacted Verizon to find out when someone was arriving, and was told someone would arrive by noon. Ultimately, I received a text message saying that someone would come on Wednesday, July 29 by 11:55 am. 3)      Wednesday, July 29: I received a text message that someone would come between 9 am and 10 am. No one arrived. I made several calls during the day, the responder always someone would arrive later, by noon, by 3 pm, and finally between 5:45 pm and 6:45 pm. Finally, the service man called me and arrived around 5:15 pm. He did an excellent job of repairing the problem 4)      Generally, the reasons given by Verizon service for the delays were that some higher priority problem came up or that an earlier job was taking longer than expected. 5)      Dealing with Verizon’s automated phone menu was an absolute pain. (an understatement!) 6)      Finally, I heard a voicemail with an automated message to evaluate the service, but the message did not provide a call-back number.  Here is our feedback on the service.

  • Delivery got canceled without reversing the invoice

    Dear All,
I came across very strange scenario in one of our client.
In the export process below are the steps involved.
Sales order u2013 delivery (no PGI) u2013 pro forma invoice (wrt delivery) u2013 PGI u2013 Export invoice (wrt Delivery)
Some end user has canceled the pro forma invoice and then reversed the PGI and canceled the delivery, without cancelling the Export invoice, and then created new delivery u2013 pro forma invoice u2013 export invoice.
So, the question is how system has allowed reversing the goods issue and canceling the delivery without cancelling the export invoice.
Now, in system it is showing delivery as archived and pro forma invoice as cancelled, but still showing Export invoice.
System is also not allowing canceling the export invoice, as when we tried to cancel the same it throws an error that the delivery (which has been archived) does not exist.
Kindly note that the item category has been configured as delivery related billing.
Can this be possible because of any user exit? or any other reason? and what can be done?
    Thanks,
    Ritesh

    hi,
THis is possible if the enduser with the help of Abaper or if he has the knowledge and authorization to use ABap tables, he can edit the table and delete the relevant data as required.
This cannot be traced even by abapers.

  • Appointment cancelations and reschedules in Outlook 2010 not syncing to my iPhone calendar

I do not have any problems with new appointments in Outlook synchronizing to the iPhone calendar, or vice versa.  Also, if I make changes to or cancel an appointment on my iPhone, it will synchronize correctly to Outlook.
HOWEVER, if I modify or cancel and appointment from Outlook, the changes do not ever synchronize to my iPhone calendar.  If I want the changes to be made on the iPhone as well, i have to go to that calendar separately and make the changes or delete the appointment.
This has been the case since day one with my iPhone 3GS and now my iPhone 4....
Has anyone else had this problem?  Found a solution?
    Thanks so much!

Good suggestion.  I did that and it seems to have worked!  It synced through the manual sync, of course, but I have also now made a couple of test entries and they do go through both ways - ALTHOUGH it takes much longer (a few minutes) to show on my phone when the entry is originated in my computer, whereas when the entry is done in my phone it takes literally two seconds to show up on my computer.  I'll take it, though, as long as it continues to work.
    thank you!

  • Landline cancelled without customer's consent or r...

BT has shown initiative and cancelled my landline without my consent! I am moving house next week and my landline is the conact numbers for movers, decorators, builders, etc and it is nothing short of disastrous. I am also in trouble with O2 now as it'll look like I have not advised them of the change in my circumstances.
It seems that an advisor with BT can make the decision to disconnect my landline and that can happen within the space of about an hour and a half but if I need it reconnected it'll take at least 48 hours.
I'll look for various online forums to share this experience and warn people against BT.

If this has been ongoing for this long I suggest trying the MODS on here,

  • Cancelling without penalty?

I have been with BT Broadband for around 2 weeks, and already I am not confident that technical support are competent or knowledgeable enough to address an issue I'm having with a low connection speed.
Can I cancel my contract without penalty at this stage?
    Mike
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Sure this is a service, but I phoned tech support on day 2 to try and resolve a speed issue and was told to wait the 10 day stabilisation period. I did, and very soon afterwards contacted support again, but am not getting any real understanding of the issue.
Basically my line is connecting at a fixed 576kbps, and there is absolutely no willingess on BT's part to sort whatever issue it is that is causing this limit to be in place. I am connected directly to the test socket, with no other devices, so any problem is on the BT side. My neighbour is on the same exchange and take a line from the same telegraph pole outside, and they are not speed restricted.
BT just don't seem to accept that it might be a problem they should fix. The solution they suggest is for me to pay for a conplete new line myself because the old line is not up to it.
I have two problems with this:
    (A) why am I paying for a new line and number when the faultis on the BT side?
    (B) my router stats indicate that actually my line is very clean and should easily handle more.
I switched to BT with the expectation that BT would be able to knock some heads together at their own company (or affiliated company) and sort this out, but I'm just getting the same uninformed excuses and barriers as the previous provider.
I have found another ISP who actually understand the issues, understand the technology, and can't understand why BT aren't sorting this out.
By the way, I spent months and months and wasted lots of time with my previous ISP trying to sort this out, which explains why I don't have the energy to repeat this with BT, because I can see the same thing happening already.
I just want out at an early stage so that a technically proficient ISP, one who is willing to fight my corner, can take over.
Surely there must be a short period (e.g. a month) in which to assess whether you're happy with the service provided? How on earth can I tell before the service is actually switched on whether I am going to be happy with the service?
If there isn't a penalty-free way out according to the T&Cs, I would hope to appeal to BT's better nature to let me go, so that someone else can have a go at this.
    Mike
