Enterprise Controlling Consolidation Vs Business Planning & Consolidation

Hi everyone - Could someone please share the difference between Enterprise Controlling Consolidation (EC-CS) Vs Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC).
My organisation is looking to implement Consolidation module but swaying on EC-CS and BPC. Please feel free to leave any piece of information that you think that helps in this regard...
Reg,
Sri.

Dear Sri,
EC-CS is an "old" consolidation module developed by SAP but part of ERP so supported until the end of 2017. EC-CS is precise, reliable and stable product, lot of customer is using it for years without any intention to change.
BPC was originally not an SAP product, more flexible and said to be faster. I do not really know BPC solution but SAP Sales will push this product for sure.
Please ask for assistance with your SAP consultant but ask also other peers using EC-CS.
Ciao,
David

  • Difference SEM-BCS and BO PLanning & Consolidation

    Hi all,
as announced in the subject. I was wondering what the difference between SEM-BCS and BO Planning & Consolidation is(so referring to the consolidation part)?
Is BO Planning & Consolidation = BO Planning + SEM BCS
    Looking forward to your ideas!
    Best regards
    Hagen

    Hi Collet,
Sorry I have no time to make a full-fledged comparison SEM-BCS and SAP BPC as you asked.
Regarding your last link: very interesting information. Thank you very much.
    The citation from the article:
    Known Limitations
In SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation (BPC), organizations (i.e. entities and groups/consolidation scopes) car vary according to Category and Time. However, all the other dimensions are static, which means they have neither category nor time dependency. As a result, the model presented here will use static Profit Center and Intercompany Profit Center dimensions.
Eliminations (so called Automatic Adjustments in BPC) are primarily driven by Legal Entity and Intercompany dimensions. As a result, when it comes to Matrix Consolidation, each elimination will still occur based on this fact. So, basically, an elimination is triggered if both an Entity and the Intercompany entity are being consolidated under the same node (i.e. Group or Consolidation scope). In other words, BPC does not evaluate as such the Profit Center and Intercompany Profit Center dimensions when it comes to performing eliminations. Amounts will be eliminated based on the Legal Entity view. However, it is possible to analyze and group eliminations by Profit Center later on. As a result, Matrix consolidation will heavily leverage the reporting/filtering capabilities of the product.
I'm afraid that in SEM-BCS' sense the Matrix consolidation has much more deep meaning than that presented here.

  • Planning & Consolidation Questionnaires for Data Collection

    Hi Friends,
I need some help on the following documents.
*1.Does any body have Planning & consolidation Questionnaires for Data collection (information gathering)*
*2.Document on BPC integration with Other systems

    VenK7337,
Could you show your python code. so we know what your are "writing" to the ethernet port?
That way we can see what you are receiving.
Parsing the incoming data (from the TCP-read) depends heavily on the device that sends it, and can not generically be described. LabVIEW has many byte (and even bit) manipulation functions to convert many different data formats to its own build in formats.
So after the TCP listener is connected, you are constantly reading from the established connection (until it gets broken of course). More advanced example would be the internet toolkit if oyu have it.
From the read characters (and I hope you designed a protocol with a clear starting character, ending character and maybe even a build in checksum) you parse the data and perform you action, and of course generate a reply. Again the internet toolkit is a good example. It parsed the input as it comes it, based on the HTTP format. Then generates the reply based on the request received.
These days I would suggest not to use binairy encoded numerics. Try and use XML formatted data. Yes, it causes a lot of overhead. But typically this is not an issue and makes the code a lot more portable and maintainable. Also makes it easier to interface with other languages/platforms.
Umless of course you are looking at Khz data rates, then XML is not th preferred choice.
    Hope this helps...

  • Controlling and Enterprise controlling

    Hi Experts,
Could anyone of you explain me  the difference between Controlling and Enterprise Controlling?
    Thanks..
    Jyothi

    Hi,
    Controlling:
Controlling provides you with information for management decision-making. It facilitates coordination, monitoring and optimization of all processes in an organization. This involves recording both the consumption of production factors and the services provided by an organization.
As well as documenting actual events, the main task of controlling is planning. You can determine variances by comparing actual data with plan data. These variance calculations enable you to control business flows.
Income statements such as, contribution margin accounting, are used to control the cost efficiency of individual areas of an organization, as well as the entire organization.

    Dear,
There is no standard report or any program which calculated ratios in SAP. Only ratio calculated is contribution margin in Profitability analysis. you can achieve this functionality using report painter or form based report in Profit Center Accounting or in Financial Accounting.

  • How should a professional business plan look like?

    Hi,
How should a professional business plan look like?
My teacher just gave me this sample business plan. Now, the content is alright, but what about the typography? I'm not sure, I'm not really a designer, but I do get the feeling it's not as beautiful as it could be. I take it a business plan should appear serious and controlled, almost conservative, as to show investors that you won't do anything stupid with their money. Also, I remember reading somewhere that the best typography is the kind of typography that goes by unnoticed (e.g. nothing fancy) as to not divert the reader's attention from the actual content.
I don't know, what do you guys say?
    Thanks!

    Thomas Phinney wrote:
Well, that is a serious, conservative layout, sure. I'm assuming the red text is instructions/suggestions from the teacher, and gets replaced by black text. Is that right?
Is the purpose of the business plan to attract investors or convince a bank or something? If it was, I'd probably change the typeface selection so that it wasn't all in Times. Nothing radical, but maybe a slightly more flavorful sans serif for headings, and a serif body typeface with a tiny bit more character. Could be for example Frutiger and Baskerville. Still pretty restrained, just not identical to most of the business plans they see.
But then again, I'm the guy who jailbroke his iPhone primarily to change the UI typeface, and asked the forum admins to change the default typeface here as well. So maybe I'm a little obsessive on this sort of thing.
    Cheers,
    T
Oh yes indeed, it's for investors who go through hundreds of Times-based business plans every day. I really like the way you worded things there, "still restrained, just not identical to most of the business plans they see".
Frutiger and Baskerville is a great suggestion! I'm open to more before I go ahead and buy myself a new pair of fonts though.
    Much obliged!

  • Link my Typekit Business plan to Creative cloud subscription? What will I pay?

So I have a Typekit Business Plan (10M) for my company. We pay monthly via creditcard ($200).
If I get a new Creative Cloud subscription, Typekit Portfolio is included. But the help page says my "existing Business or Enterprise plan will be unchanged when linked to a Creative Cloud subscription."
So what will I pay in total if I get a CC subscription? Is it included in the monthly fee I pay for Typekit? Or do I just pay for each plan (i.e. Typekit + CC)?
    Thanks,
    Joris

    Hi Joris,
I am sorry for any confusion here. Your Creative Cloud subscription includes a Typekit Portfolio plan. Since the Business plan is a higher level plan than what is included in Creative Cloud, you are billed separately for it.
You may link your Typekit account to your Creative Cloud subscription if you like, but you will still be billed monthly for your Business plan, using the credit card that is on file with your account.

  • I am seeking a good Business Plan template.

Finding good Business Plan templates is always difficult, most are geared to business activities, I need a good template for starting a "manufacturing" plant.  Funding would be a combo of private & government participation.

    Glad someone does Peggy.
The notification system seems to be quite sporadic.
I go to get links for FAQs and occassionally spot the odd irrelevant comment and spam, but really unless it is totally off the wall I leave them be. At least for a month or two, then clean them off just so it doesn't bury the valuable stuff.
Been thinking about reconstructing the entire thing using WordPress so I can get better control over the layout and sort them imto more logical groups. I have trouble locating stuff I know is there and I pity the newcomer who doesn't even know it exists.

  • Enterprise structure for construction business

    Hi ,
Here the business case like this "We are implementing SAP for construction company , i have some doubt in enterprise structure becaue in construction company they don't have any perticular manufactureing Plant , there will be have different project site and these go on changeing as per the project period . So my question how to design logistic enterprise structure for construction business" and how to integrate these with PS
Edited by: Raghavendra Balegar on Jul 2, 2009 6:29 AM

    Dear
    1) Each project you can consider as a plant ( where u can valuate the stock at plant level),
    2) and difeerent storage locations under plants depends on your material types like ROH,HALB,ERSA,FERT...ect
3)purchase organisations like if have a contracts create one referance pur.org and if require create one more pur.org at local purchases
4)PS consultant has to create each project as WBS element ,under WBS element networks, under networs activities
    5) PS-MM integration
When ever Project people requires material as per their planning, they required to accocate the material to particulat activity say if they want cement they need to allocate cement to particulat activity ,
system intern will raise PR at activity level and reservation at newwork level ( item categoty should be L in PS)
base on the PR , purchasing people can create RFQ or PO ,GR,IR Like MM standard Procedure (PR account assignment will be Q orP)
based on the resevation GI will be done (m.type 281 Q)

  • Integrating project planning software with business planning systems (ERP)

    Hello there
I have been trying to obtain information about "integrating project planning systems with business planning systems (ERP, PLM)" but I could not find any proper source. Would you help me out on this?
I would like to focus on what benefits can be expected from a close integration of project planning
