Enterprise Designer strange problem

Hello,
Im very new to this forum and to JCAPS.
May be someone can advise me what can I do with my problem as Im completely stuck.
I was making an installation of JCAPS 5.1.3 steb-by-steb by the installation guide.
I start repository and domain, and I wanted to start Enterprise Designer. I downloaded it, unzipped it, and run runed.bat.
The window with title Sun SeeBeyond Enterprise Designer appears, but its completely empty. No panels, no components, only menu with Help and Tools.
Does someone experienced this already? Is it any wey to fix it?

This is expected behavior. The initial download is just a shell run by Java. You must choose Tools, then Update Center, which will then connect to the repository and display the available downloads (base level GUI components, plus optional adapter GUI components). To start, select all of them and download, and then allow the eDesigner to restart. This will populate the eDesigner into a fully functional tool.
In the future you may want to limit the adapters and other optional components that you install into the Repository, so that the eDesigner is not so large. But this is a tuning technique.

Computer slower and a few other strange problems since upgrading to SL

Hi all,
About a month ago, I upgraded my mid-2009 MBP to SL. I'm now on 10.6.1. Ever since the upgrade, my computer's been somewhat slower than it was when I ran Leopard (although many people I know say their machines are faster). I did restart several times at one point, and that seemed to speed it up, although it still experiences delays I didn't have before. I've also had a bunch of strange issues:
1) Safari is most noticeably slow, especially when using something like Top Sites on Safari 4. I alleviated this problem somewhat by setting new tabs to open a blank window rather than Top Sites, but even so, Safari is generally slower, gives me 'pinwheels' often, and also is less stable.
2) The other day, I restarted to find that all fonts except system fonts had been mysteriously deactivated. As a designer, I rely heavily on my many fonts, which I manage using Linotype FontExplorer.
3) Today, I opened my computer up after having it sleeping in a backpack, and it had turned off. It was not out of battery; it had just turned off for no apparent reason.
4) Judging by Activity Monitor, RAM is being used somewhat more heavily by the system, contrary to the advertisements of a 'lighter' footprint for SL as compared to Leopard. However, according to Activity Monitor (which I check frequently), the processor does not appear to be getting taxed any more heavily than under Leopard, which makes the sluggishness more inexplicable.
5) Yesterday, I could not get my computer to recognize my Time Machine backup disc. After restarting, it worked, but this is a pain.
I appreciate any advice I can get. Does anyone else have similar problems or solutions? Or is the general consensus that these are SL bugs that Apple will work out by about 10.6.4 or so?

I began this thread awhile ago, but the essence of it is that I had a number of strange problems, although mostly my computer was just slower, when upgrading from Leo to SL.
I've now wiped my HD and re-installed SL. It seems faster, although there are still a few issues:
1) iWork (Pages, Numbers) has very weird coloring. All the text looks light blue and/or cyan, and I can't fix it.
2) Although initially Safari worked great, lately it's been going back to its habits of being slow and showing strange things like chopping up the 'Top Sites' view, i.e. rendering it in an off way.
3) Adobe CS3 will not install properly. I get them loaded up, but when I try to launch a program, I get an error that says "licensing for this product has stopped working". I cannot get to the 'activate' page, even though I uninstalled and deactivated CS3.
In the interest of full disclosure, I did restore my home account after clean installing SL-- maybe I should have brought the files over folder by folder rather than bringing back my whole home folder with its settings? I wonder if I accidentally brought over Adobe's FLEXnet folder too.
Also, does anyone know if Adobe CS3 can cause these problems with Safari and other programs? It just seems that the whole machine was slower after installing CS3, even though I wasn't running the programs.

There are some strange problems when i used swc files in my as3 project

        My development environment: fdk4.0, flash cs5.5, I publish fla file by using flash cs5.5,   publish setting is fp version :10.0&10.1 ->swc. I imported swc files to my as3 project and complied them by using flex sdk4.0. When i run my project,fp was crash.   when i republished on fp 10.2, the project works. Is there any reason?
        another strange problem, for example   a MovieClip's aslink named "A" in swc, it has a textfield named "subText". I write code like below:

                        mc.subText.text = "test";
         when mc called "subText" , fp throws null property error, it can't find subText.. very small number of movieclips have this problem, I sloved this by duplicating a new one and rename it.

I should have figured that out from your original post. I think there is a possibility that your bookmarks/history database (places.sqlite) has a corrupted record. Rather than take drastic action on that immediately, could you do a test? The test is to exit Firefox, rename your existing database, and restart Firefox. Firefox should import your last bookmarks backup. You then could check whether the problem remains or whether you got a clean restore of bookmarks. After the test, assuming you prefer to retain your history, you could undo the procedure and try restoring your bookmark backup into the database to see whether that overwrites the problem record. If not, then we would go back to possible drastic action.

Strange problem - Extra space coming before period.

I have a strange problem with CR 2008 SP2. I tried in SP3 also . Same problem exists.
Consider a text like "Configuration.". If I add this text in designer and use a preview is shows like "Configuration.". But when I run the report , it displays like "Configuration .". Note the extra spaces coming before period. I am using win xp . And using win form application. The font used Times New Roman. This issue is common to any text shown in report. Where ever a period is displayed , extra space is coming . How to solve this issue.

Strange problem with prompts

Hi,
I'm having a strange problem occuring in a prompt. The design is this: I have a "search" dashboard page that let's a user search for specific projects (project is a dimension) using a wide variety of multi-select boxes, dropdowns, etc. Once a user chooses these and hits "go", an answers query is run which shows Project IDs and other fields that relate to the prompts chosen.
On the answers query, the "Project ID" column is set to navigate to a 2nd page. On this second page, I have a dropdown prompt for project ID plus time periods. The time periods dropdown is constrained on the project ID (but note that the project ID prompt is NOT constrained). After the time period is selected and user hits GO on the 2nd page, a BI Publisher result is run (using presentation variables that are set on the 2nd page prompts). Note that I need to have a prompt on the 2nd page in order to allow presentation variables to be set (these set the parameters used by BIP to the selected prompt values)
This works most of the time. But for some reason, when I get to the 2nd page, there are a few projects that, when I go to pick a time period for, the PROJECT_ID dropdown gets reset back to the first available project ID. This happens even before I hit the "go" button. It's kinda like the project ID is set to "constrainted" - but it isn't. i.e. when the 2nd page comes up, the project ID dropdown will show the project ID that I clicked on in the "search" page. But then if I go to pick the fiscal month using the other field in the prompt, my Project ID gets reset from the one they chose, to the very first project ID available.
I'm unable to figure out why this is occurring, and why it's intermittent. Some project IDs consistenly have this problem, others do not.
Any ideas?

i have five prompts together out of which two are year prompts and others are country ->Region->city and if i am now wrong and as per sql query if we are selecting the constrain option for region and city then in sql query it will take year prompts value in where clause as well... and as those two year prompts has different value
If year has same value then there is no problem as here year has two different values
the sql query which is getting generated is like this .... the problem is the way year is taking values in where clause

Strange problem with connection to Integrator Server

Hi,
I have a strange problem with making a connection to my Integrator Server.
I have one workspace folder that I share between Integrator version 2.4 and 3.0 (I have several versions installed for testing purposes)
When I try to create a new Integrator Server Project in Integrator Designer I get this nice 'Connect to CloverETL Server' panel.
By default: the connection URL is http://localhost:8080/clover. So by default Integrator Designer wants to connect to my 2.4 Integrator Server.
When I change this to http://localhost:8301/clover by using the drop-down box and fill in my credentials everything is looking fine. I click Next.
The problem now is that every time I switch to the next or previous configuration windows the connection is reset to the default http://localhost:8080/clover.
So it seems like Integrator Designer resets the CloverETL Server URL each time I switch to a different configuration window by using NEXT or BACK.
The problem occurs in both versions of Integrator Designer.
Does anybody know that the problem is? Can I change the default URL to my 3.0 Integrator Server?

I'm using iPlanet App server as well and experiencing similar problem. I load my SQL Server driver by Class.forName("com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver"), then use DriverManager.getDriver() to obtain the Driver.
However, the Driver returned is not the SQLServerDriver as expected. The Driver returned is com.netscape.server.jdbc.Driver! And then when I do Driver.getConnection("jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://MyServer"), it throws an SQLException saying that it doesn't accept a jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver subprotocol. Well, of course it doesn't, it's not a microsoft Driver at all.
I suspect the problem is that the netscape Driver's acceptsURL() method ALWAYS returns true in iPlanet app server, thus when you getDriver(), the netscape Driver is always returned (and always returned as the first one since it's default?). Thus even though the same piece of code works fine as a standalone application, it just doesn't work on iPlanet app server.
My work around is:

Mind that my above code does not have an performance issue. If you look into the source code of how DriverManager get a Driver for a particular URL, it also loads the whole set of available Drivers, then call acceptsURL() method on each of them to find the first "suitable" one. Thus time complexity is the same.
I know this is not a very elegant solution and it defeats the purpose of having a DriverManager. Does any one else has a better way to solve this problem, like a way to specify the priority of each Driver so that SQLServerDriver is returned before the netscape Driver?

Strange Problem: cannot save public report as a developer

HI all,
I've testing an application in apex.oracle.com.
Several days ago I started to have a strange problem with my application. I don't know what has been changed but I can't save the Interactive reports as a developer. The app doesn't display the button "apply" to save the changes, and in the design view of the report the "Save public report authorization" select list is greyed.
Is there anyone that knows where is this permission managed?

To choose an authorization scheme under "Save Public Report Authorization", you first must check the "Save Public Report" checkbox under "Include in Actions Menu".
Note that both the "Save Report" as well as the "Save Public Report" option work for authenitcated pages only.

Space designer export problem

Hi,
I'm having a strange problem with space designer in that I'm trying to add a very faint, realistic reverb on a few tracks, which sound fine when I preview them in Soundtrack, but when I export the mix out there is this massive booming reverb like it's in a cave or something, regardless of what the Space Designer is set to. The problem goes away if I disable the space designer, but It'd really like to be able to use it.
Has anyone encountered this issue before? Anyone know what might be the problem?

Another way of wording the question that I originally asked;
I recorded a ten second sine sweep. when I deconvolve I end up with a ten second impulse response. Is this normal? Do I now need to shorten the IR using space designer, or is it supposed to create a reverb tail automatically?
If anyone out there knows this answer please let me know.

Master-detail strange problem

I've got strange problem to solve. I have master-detail tables in DB: dept and emp (1:n), emp has FK deptno from dept. I've created business component package for these tables through the wizard. Link and association was created automatically. When i delete master, i also want remove details records, so i've checked association properties Composition Ass., Implement Casc. Del. and Lock Top-level Container. But during testing app. module, i can remove master but i cannot commit changes to DB. I always receive
(oracle.jbo.DMLException) JBO-26041: Failed to post data to database during "Delete":SQL Statement "DELETE FROM DEPT Dept WHERE DEPTNO=:1".

if i add to FK constraint the property 'cascade on delete', then it works correctly, BUT in real application i have just small possibility to change DB design, and anyway I think this should work without changing db (in Oracle Forms it does). We use Oracle9i 9.2.0.3 and JDeveleper 9.0.3.1. Could please anybody explain to me what i forgot to do? Thanks for any suggestion.

It seems, in the JDev version you have cascade delete has not been implemented in the MT. You have to manage such deletes from the Bc4J client side. Or you may override remove() method on the master entity and perform remove on all composition details and then call super.remove(). This way due to composition, the details will be removed first from the db and then the master will be removed to avoid the FK constraints. OPtionally if your db model has cascade delete constraint, then select the cascade-delete checkbox on the composition association so that detail's DML is not invoked as an optimization.

Nokia 5530 RM-504 Strange Problem

I have Nokia 5530 RM-504 strange problem after flash latest version 31.0.005 two problems create
1) Before flashing Pakistan GMT+5 but after flash Pakistan GMT+6
2) Before flashing sending MMS work fine but after flash when I send MMS 1 time but set sending auto mms same cell no. after 30 sec.
Any idea how to solve those problems.

Hey the problem isn't with the phone i don't think.
I had the same issues with the sound quality and and pushing the button making the sound the good.
Its because there is a diference in the design of theheadset jack/phone plughole.
the wierd sound is a result of the ground and mic wires going to the wrong places. you can cut the plug then re solder the wires back together but switch the mic and ground wires around then it will work fine on something that it wasnt working properly on, but it will stop it working normaly on anything that it curently works on

I am having a strange problems on the Data entry Forms

A form that has been used since 2005 in an old version of HFM 3.51 was migrated to SYstem 11.1.2.1 in January of 2012 and has been working since then. Suddenly we start having some strange problems. Our response time has been very slow and I am wondering if there were some problems in any of the services. Maybe a service did not start properly related to the WEB forms.
We entered a number in one of the cell to be: 348336349 as soon as we hit enter, the number was formatted to 348,336,349 but when I submit the number it came back as 3. I tried it several times and it did not work, I checked the scaling and that was set blank. One of my user tried it and it did not work. I tried looking into the Preferences and my screen froze. In the meantime one of my user was able to enter the number and was able to refresh it as well. Then she enter another number on a different cell and the same problem occurred it seemed as if it truncated all the digits except for the left most digit, we are unable to figure out how to resolve this issue. The number entereed in the cell is 826,251,218 it stores 8 and loses the rest of the 8 digits. I right click and checlk the properties and it says that it has stored 8 instead of 826,251,218.

Did you find a way to solve your problem ? We have exactly the same for one application and we are using the same version of HFM : 11.1.2.1.
This problem is only about webforms. We can correctly input data through Data Grids or Client 32.

Submitting a form with enter key causing strange problems

I am having a very strange problem with a webapp I am currently developing. I am using JSF 1.2 along with Facelets and RichFaces. I have coded a workflow/wizard 4-step process, and on some pages I have 4 submit buttons that all call different actions on the page. The users thought it would be useful to have the enter key submit the form, so I followed some online resources to trap a keypress using javascript, looking for the enter keycode and calling document.getElementById("elementName").click(). This works fine most of the time. Sometimes, though, it seems as if an entire new session is being created, and odd behavior starts happening. For example, my page will only include 2 of the 4 facelets on the screen -or- I will get NullPointerExceptions for objects that I know have been created in the session bean I am currently using -or- I will get a duplicate form Id after trying to re-submit the page. Could the javascript click simulation not be submitting all of the form elements or is the enter key also acting like its default action (the form submission) in addition to the "click"? I'm really at my wit's end here (plus it's nearly 3 AM, that never helps things). All of the buttons being clicked are standard h:commandButtons. There is some setTimeout logic included to disable the buttons on the page to prevent double clicks (I cannot disable them onsubmit because disabled buttons don't pass the right values, perhaps that's causing it, but if so, clicking the buttons with the mouse would cause that issue too, right?)
I am not posting the code (yet), but if anyone wants to take a look see and see if I am doing something really abhorrently wrong, I'm more than willing to, I'm just curious if anyone has had problems regarding javascript submission of forms via the click() method. Clicking the button does not exhibit this type of behavior. Just as a side note: I am doing different things with the enter key depending if a modal window is open (the enter key closes the modal if it's up, and if not, it submits the form via a button click).
Any help is much appreciated, if anyone has any inkling about where I should start looking for answers it would be really helpful.

You need to suppress the event handling after programmatically clicking the button.

Strange problems on Macbook Pro over past year...

I'm about to do an erase and install after having numerous strange problems on my mid 2009 17" Macbook Pro (Leopard) over the past year, some of which I have opened threads for on these forums.
They are listed bellow to see if anyone wants to give their final two cents as to what is causing them. They may or might not be related.
1) I recently found the "Unknown" user classifications at second from top in the user priveleges for the main Macintosh HD folder and "Local Work" – which is my main folder for work.

5) In Skype I get constant warnings of other computers trying to connect from Little Snitch and Virus Barrier. I get so many of them one after they other pausing skype that I can only use Skype with Little Snitch off. I can only use it late at night also as there seems to be more attempts being blocked in virus barrier during the day that I can't even get past the login:

I suppose your expanding battery problem could have caused some or all of these problems, but most of them sound like software issues.
If I were you I'd try a few things:
1. boot from your snow leopard install disk and repair your startup disk with disk utility.
2. repeat the repairs until no repairs are reported (the toilet paper principle).
3. repair permissions again.
4. if the problems persist, trash the preferences files for the misbehaving apps.
5. if the problems persist, delete the misbehaving apps and reinstall them.
6. it the shutoffs persist, try a PMU reset.
7. a PRAM reset would probably be a good idea too.
8. if none of that works, archive and reinstall.
there is a freeware utility called applejack that will also do most of this.
Details on all of these will be readily available with a google search.

My mp3 player is 2 and a half years old. A few months ago he didn't charge anymore. ?I thought i could repair it by buying a new battery and install him in my mp3.
Afther a few ours of ?assembling it was ready for charging a thought..
I used the usb charger and de sync adapter...
the morning after, my mp3 is not charged and only showing me a little red stripe in de battery (right top) i can listen music but only for a few minutes...

The battery will only last about 3yrs regardless of use.You will need to change it. Did you scroll down to see the album,picture,track counts? Did you partition part of the dri've for removable storage.
