EPMA Web tier service crashes automatically

Hi,
The EPMA web tier service in our application starts and crashes automatically. I have checked the log files and it is showing me following error :

I tried updating the file boot.properties by entering the user name & password in plain text. Still the error persists. Also the file is nor more stored in encrypted format but is stored in plain text.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Because Weblogic is up and running.
Try to start Weblogic again after changing the boot.properties(Username and password).
It will ask for username and password at the time starting weblogic, give correct username and password.
It will come up(max) then try to access.
I did once the same thing as shown below link,

  • EPMA Web Tier starts then stops (SOLVED)

We have two web servers that are identical running. EPMA Web Tier runs fine on 2, but I can't start it on 1. I'm not getting any error information in the epma logs.
The only error I see is in Event Viewer which says:
The description for Event ID 0 from source HyS9EPMAWebTier cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not isntalled on your local computer or the installation is corrupted.
You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event.
Could not initialize the Java Virtual Machine.
the message resource is present but the message is not found in the string/message table.
Any idea what I can look at or do to make this service run?

    Well fixed my own issue.
    I did regedit, and under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Hyperion Solutions -> EpmaWebReports0
    Set JVMOpton40 -Xmx512m to -Xmx1024m
EPMA Web Tier now starts up and doesn't crash.

  • Web Proxy "Service stops automatically"

    Hello,
we use a SunONE Web Proxy Server 3.6 SP2 on a english WIndows 2000 SP3 (on Compaq DL 380 Dual P3 1,1 GHz).
Sometimes the service stops automatically, but i can resart it without a reboot. There are no messages or logfile entries.
Does anybody know, what the problem could be?
    Thx
    Marcus

    Hi Marcus,
It's interesting to know that this problem also occurs under windows. I have suffered from this for some time now but not on every host that runs the proxy server (all Solaris 8/9 boxes running proxys from SP3 up to SP5) and only occasionally. It has just occured to me that every host that doesnt have this problem shares a common configuration regarding the number of proxy server instances that it's running: one.
Are you running several instances on the same box? Please, let me know.
    Thanks,
    Rui

  • Hyperion Financial Reporting-Web Application service crashing

    Hi,
In our environment in last one week this service has crashed 5times. What can be the reason for this? We have an EPM environment but HFM application is classic. The version we have is 11.1.2.2.305. When this happens we restart the services and they come up but again go down unexpectedly. Hyperion is installed on C drive itself and the databse size is close to 90GBs. Unable to understand what could eb causing this. Please help.

FR web crash issue could be due to many reason :
    1. Is it crashing after running one particular report then that report could be big or has level 0
    2. If it is crashing due to any report then check jvm heap size for FR in FR windows server
    3. What does frloging.log and financialreporting0.log file says

I contacted tech support for the web hosting service and they said it was a problem with the browser - cookies/settings/etc - I couldn't find any solution. I need to be able to set Firefox so I can stay logged into my web hosting indefinitely. Thank You.

  • EPMA web service help needed (9.3.1.5)

I'm having issues when trying to utilize the backend EPMA web services. What I'm attempting to do is write a java app that can hit the EPMA services to authenticate, upload a flat file, then run a flat file import using a rule on the server.
I'm currently able to authenticate and able to upload, but my call to the Imports.asmx web service to startFlatFileImportJob() is returning the following exception:
Server was unable to process request. ---> Unable to find assembly 'data_access_layer, Version=9.3.2771.29149, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'.
    (stack dump below).
Are there any web service experts out there who can help me out with this? I'm writing Java in Eclipse on JRE 1.5.0_18. (code below)
Sorry about the markup - couldn't figure out how to turn it off...
    Thanks,
    Jon

  • In Java EE 7's Firstcup tutorial, why does does the web tier consume the data from the dukes-age web service?

In the Firstcup tutorial, the responsibilities of the web tier are listed as:
dynamically generate content for the client
    collect input from the user
return results from business tier components
control the flow of client screens & pages
    maintain session state
    perform basic logic
hold data temporarily in JavaBeans components
Which of these responsibilities would retrieving data from a web service fall under?
The tutorial also lists the technologies used in the web tier, and JAX-RS is not included in that list. The list of technologies used by the business tier does, however, list JAX-RS. I was surprised to find the DukesBDay JavaBeans component (in the web tier) calling the dukes-age web service, instead of the DukesBirthdayBean EnterpriseBean (in the business tier), which uses hard coded value for Duke's birth date.
Is it typical for the web tier to consume web services in this way? What about when using an application client container, wouldn't that skip the web tier altogether, and in doing so also skip the web service call? Wouldn't DukesBirthdayBean in the business tier benefit from making the call to the web service, instead of having the date hard coded into it, and wouldn't this also solve the problem of the missing web service call when using an application client container?

    Hi Shadab,
Here is a list of Web service standards supported by SAP in NetWeaver 7.1.1: [Supported Standards|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/44/624479f7e608fae10000000a422035/frameset.htm] (also in [7.0|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/44/624479f7e608fae10000000a422035/frameset.htm] and [7.0.1|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/EN/44/624479f7e608fae10000000a422035/frameset.htm]). The Enterprise Services adhere to these standards, and on the provider side you have the tools to configure the authentication settings as needed. On the consumer side, one just has to use a Java release (or any other platform) that supports these standards.
While I am not a Java developer, there should be [many ways to consume a Web service in Java|http://www.google.bg/search?q=consumewebservice+java].
    Hope this helps,

  • Windows Search Service Crashes on Windows Server 2012 R2

    Hi,
I'm running Windows Search service on a Windows Server 2012 R2 (24GB RAM, 8-core proc). The index catalog has a little over 2 million items (files and folders indexed).
Every once in a while this service crashes, and either remains in limbo or automatically recovers and restarts the index from zero. I'm trying to find out information about what may be causing the crashes and about how to prevent them. Unfortunately, I don't
seem to be able to find much about the Windows Search service on Windows Server 2012 R2. So anyone who may have input on this, please chip in.
    Additional info:
    - As mentioned above, the server OS is Windows Server 2012 R2. This is a physical server with 24GB RAM, 8-core proc and over 2TB of storage.
    - This server acts as a DC and as a File Server. In addition to this and Windows Search service, there are no other major services running here
    - Symantec Endpoing protection is installed and running on this server, but I've made sure to exclude the Window Search database from SEP
Here are some of the errors that are generated when the issue happens:
The error below may show up in the event logs. If it shows up more than once, the indexing service has likely crashed and won't recover.

I attempted to stop the indexing service, but it didn't stop. I noticed though that the indexing GUI started responding as soon as the
the service stop command failed. The indexing service seems to have picked up where it was (~300K items) and continued indexing.

  • Error while installing web tier on soalaris X86-64 bit

    Hi All,
I want to install Oracle WEB TIER(HTTP server and oracle web cache), but in the step that "Specify WebLogic Domain", I obtain the following error.
INST- 07281: JRF is not setup in the specified domain
    - Enter a domain wich has JRF setup.
Then I tried to extend current domain with JRF product support to enable web cache. But I am not getting the JRF option when I extend my domain or create a new domain. I am getting only 3 options on the domain creation page:
    1. Basic WebLogic server Domain
    2. Weblogic advanced Web Services for JAX-RPC Extension
    3. Weblogic advanced Web Services for JAX-WS Extension
I am using WebLogic Server Version: 10.3.5.0 installed in production mode and using latest java jdk1.6.0_21. I am getting those option in Windows platform but not on Solaris!!!!
To resolve this i tried to install Oracle Application Development Runtime 11.1.1.2.xxx (and 11.1.1.3.xxx)
    from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/downloads/fmw-11-download-092893.html
But it is also failing giving an error “cannot execute” –
    *./runInstaller: /export/home/weblogic/WEBTIER/Application_Development_Runtime_v12/Disk1/install/solaris/runInstaller: cannot execute*
Any idea about this error or how to install Oracle WEB TIER on Solaris X86 (64 bit)???
    Thanks,
    Anshul

    Hi Cris,
Thanks for reply. I checked the permission, It was rwxr-xr-x.
Then I changed to 0777 i.e. to rwxrwxrwx But no effect....
Do you think that is there any possibility that Application Development Runtime version 11.1.2.0 and 11.1.3.0 are not compatible with Solaris X86- 64 bit environment?
    I downloaded files from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/downloads/fmw-11-download-092893.html.
Also I am trying to use 11.1.1.6 from -
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/downloads/index.html
Do you have any idea how to install JRF to weblogic?
I am trying to install this from " Application Development Runtime" or shall I try with "SOA module- ofm_soa_generic_11.1.1.2.0_disk1_1of1"???
    Thanks,
    Anshul

     Hi Azamat Hackimov,
Regarding to error messages, it seems that the
ntdsai.dll file caused the issue. Based on current situation, please use
sfc /scannow command to scan protected system files and check if find error and repair. Meanwhile, you can also navigate to the location of this DLL file and confirm details.
In addition, Windows Server 2012 R2 has reboot unexpectedly. Please check if you get some dump file and then analysis it. It may help us to find the root reason. Please refer

  • Web-tier design question

    Hello,
The web tier framework I'm working utilizes Struts, and I have a question about using interfaces in base action classes. We have created static utility wrapper methods for accessing different scopes and services. Now in our base action class we have wrapper methods which wrap calls to the static utility methods. Now my colleague suggested that we create an interface that defines these wrapper methods to be used in the base classes and implement this interface in all our web-tier base classes i.e. BaseAction, BaseFilter, BaseTilesAction.
Is this overkill? I don't see the advantage because we're never instantiating these classes. However, we would be placing a rule that these classes must contain certain functionality.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Does it make sense to wrap calls to utility methods which are static?Depends - what does that accomplish? Fewer lines of code? Is there state involved in the calls (create object - set state - call method - get results)? If it accomplishes nothing concrete within the current requirements specification, refactor it later if you find a concrete reason to do so.
There may be reasons to do the non-easy thing. Such as you are going to sell the classes and customers will subclass them. But if that isn't about to happen soon, try hard not to gold plate and complexify the code.
How big is your application - how many servlets do you expect? How many concurrent developers (1, 2, 10, 100)?

  • The Web Management Service service terminated with service-specific error %%-2147483640,

We've been able to successfully, automatically, deploy our MVC and WebApi to IIS7.5 on Win2008 R2, for some time now.  Just this week the MSDeploy stopped working.  The System event log shows this error when attempting to restart the Web Management
Service on the targeted Win200 R2 server:
The Web Management Service service terminated with service-specific  error %%-2147483640.
The Application log shows this error at the same exact time the above error occurs.
    IISWMSVC_STARTUP_UNABLE_TO_ACTIVATE_HWC
Failed to activate the Hostable Web Core (HWC). Web Management Service startup failed.  Please reference the Win32 error in this  event for further information.  Exception:System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8007007F):  The
specified procedure could not be found. Process:WMSvc User=NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE
The above error is preceded by this warning:
A listener channel for protocol 'http' in worker process '7164' serving application pool 'WMSvcAppPool' reported a listener channel  failure.  The data field contains the error number.
Which is preceded by this error:
Failed to find the RegisterModule entrypoint in the module DLL C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\webengine.dll.  The  data is the error.
We've attempted to reach the target server using https://ourservername:8172/MsDeploy.axd. The response is:
Error 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED): The server refused the  connection
Is this occurring because the port is blocked or because the Web Management Service is not running?  (The Windows Firewall with Advanced Security dialog says the "Windows Firewall is off" and there are no entries in the firewall log (C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles\Firewall).
We've seen some posts that indicate the certificate may be the issue. Not sure how to actually tell if this is the case though. The CERT we have says it is valid thru 2029.

What could be the reason for the issue and the possible resolution.I have checked in other posts in the forum but unable figure out resolution.
If it is related to Oracle client issue then where can we find out the installed oracle client in the server?
    Thanks in advance

  • BO XI 3.1 Cluster Installation - 1 Web Tier + 2 Application Servers + 1 DB

    Hi Guys,
This is the first time I am doing a Cluster installation of BO XI 3.1.
    Here's the scenario :
    1. We have Server-1 as - Web-Tier
    2. Server 2 + Server 3 - Cluster Installation.
    3. SQL DB Server.
The step 3 above is done.
Now my confusion is what options should I select when doing the Server 2 + 3 installation. Do I select the Web Application Servers when it asks me to install TomCat5.5 or should I say deploy on existing. If I say deploy then it asks me for the server directory which is obviously not on the current server. Or should I skip that as my belief is that web-tier is installed on Server1.
How does the whole thing work ? Is it that the web part goes to Server1 and the rest is shared between server2+3.
Can someone plz. throw some light on the above installations ?
    Thanks to all,

You can simple do two full installations and then configure App Server and DB.
    1. Full install BO services on server 1 including MySQL and Tomcat
    2. Full install BO services on server 2 including MySQL and Tomcat
    3. Stop SIA on server 1 and specify CMS datasource to your DB
    4. Stop SIA on server 2 and specify CMS datasource to the same DB (specifying multiple CMS to the same datasource essentially make them in the same cluster)
    5. Install Web Tier on Server 3
In the end, you can disable MySQL and Tomcat services on both server 1 and server 2
    Hope this helps.
    Robin
