Equal Distribution of cost among Cost Centers
Hi All!
My requiremnt is like this:
CC Cost Equal Distb Total Value
X1 100 100
x2 200 20 220
x3 300 20 320
x4 100 20 120
x5 500 20 520
x6 100 20 120
Here, the cost value 100 of CC X1 has to be equally disributed among other 5 CCs, except the CC X1. How this can be achieved in BEX? I am on Bw 3.5. Please help on this.
Hello Madhusudhan,
You can achieve this by using Cell definitions.

Please note that we do not have PS implemented here..
Regards
VenkatHi Venkat,
You can better process as for your request as Actual Distribution Cycle (under new GL)
which i have done in my projects same as your requested.
FAGLGA31-Create Actual Distribution(Config)
FAGLGA47 - Run Actual Distribution Cycle
From
Cost Center Group- CC01 Cost Elemnt Group-Co Code C1
To
Cost Center Group-CC02-Cost Element Group-Co Code C2
Note: OBYA- Inter co clearing has to be set in config
Two Accoutning doc will generate: CC01-CC02 with interco clearing between the Company Codes from OBYA Config.

Distribution of cost over periods in detailed planning in CCA KP06
Good Day everyone
Please advice how to control distribution of cost over periods in Detailed planning in Cost center accounting. KP06.
When detailed planning is carried out which is integrated with MM, distribution of cost over periods is automatically set (02 distribution as before) and i cannot manually set the distribution key to 0 or 1
We are using ECC6
How can i control manual distribution of plan cost while remaining in Detailed planning.Hi,
You can distribute your planned costs at activity level based on the distributionkey you specified. The distribution is done for the entire duration of activity depending on the Dist key you select. If you do not put any Dist key, then the costs would be distributed equally across the entire duration of activity. If you want to have equal distribution of costs, you can use DK- SAP020 which distributes on earliest dates of activity using Factory calender. If you want you can also define your own DK in SPRO under: Production->capacity requirements planning->operations->capacity requirements->distribution.
Hope this clarifies..
Best regards.. -
How to maintain (or change) cost centers and maintain account
Hi everyone.
I have a problem which seems to be hard to solve. I have some
purchases which should be distributed on quantity or percentage basis.
Although these purchases are bought on a regular basis their
distribution on cost centers differs from time to time. so, I want to
make these purchases with scheduling agreements and maintain their
cost centers distribution in goods receipt (migo). I know that these
kind of distributions in receipts can be made in service purchases but
with services it's not possible to make scheduling agreements.
any help will be highly appreciated. thanks in advance.Hi Cemal,
Create PO with account assignment category K & in account assignment tab select distribution on quantity basis or on percentage basis.
Here you can define the percentage for multiple account assignment.
Even though you can change the ratio at the time of service entry sheet also.
Hope it will help you.

Cost Centers and distribution rules
I need to allocate costs to profit centers and would like to have the costs be allocated first to the department cost center then distributed to product profit center by %.
Example: An invoice is first allocated to the sales department, then the distribution rule will allocate the cost between 4 product lines (33 % chemical A, 33 % chemical b, 17 % chemical c and 17 % chemical d).
How would I setup the profit centers, cost centers and distribution rule to accomplish the above task.
Thank you,
WayneHi Fred,
I assume you using 8.81?
1. Administration - General Settings - Cost Accounting : Tick "Use Multidimensions" option
2. Financial - Cost Accounting - Dimensions : Tick "Dimension 1" and "Dimension 2".
Give proper description to each dimension, in your case maybe "Department" to Dimension 1 and "Product" to Dimension 2
3. Financial - Cost Accounting - Cost Centers : Create your intended cost centre, "Sales" cost centre with dimension "Department", "Chemical A" to "Chemical D" with dimension "Product"
4. Financial - Cost Accounting - Distribution Rules :
As for your intention to allocate the invoice to Sales Department, since you want to allocate it 100% to Sales Department, you don't need to create a distribution rules, since B1 will automatically create a distribution rule with 100% allocation for each cost centre you created.
As for your production cost allocation, create a distribution rule with your code "DR-P01" as an example, choose dimension "Product", set the Total with "100". In the detail section, choose each cost centre (Chemical A to D), enter respective value and click "Add" button. -
Distribution cycle for cost centers
Hi,
I have created a distribution cycle for cost centers using SKF. I have even created document using KB31N. based on this document the sender should have some amount after executing the distribution cycle, but here the sender value is completely distributed to recievers leading to incorrect results.
Can any one help me solve this?
Thanks,
SravanthiHello
Pls check the rule once again.
You use allocation rules to determine how amounts and quantities are allocated between sender objects (sender values) and receiver objects (receiver tracing factor). The rules for the allocation types are made up of sender and receiver rules.
Sender rules
Determination of the sender values for the distribution/assessment can occur according to the following rules:
Posted amounts
Fixed amounts
Fixed rates
Receiver rules
Determination of the sender values for the distribution/assessment can occur according to the following rules:
Variable portions
Fixed amounts
Fixed percentages
Fixed portions

Multiple cost centers postings in RE-FX.
Hello everyone!
We are currently implementing SAP Flexible Real Estate solution to manage the company's properties. We are facing some problems regarding the distribution of rental costs among multiple costs centers. Our scenario is basically this (example):
1)In our usage view we have one building with three rental spaces connected to it. Each rental space has different area-measurements and represents different segments in our company (with a specific cost-center associated to it).
2)The company doesn`t own the building, the structure is rented from a person outside the organization. In this case we`ve created a Commercial lease-in type of contract (external contract, where the company is the user of the object).
3)This contract contains the three rental spaces mentioned above, and we've configured the contract condition to distribute the rental costs among these objects based on the area measurement.
4)When we perform transaction RERAPP for this contract to pay the vendor we`ve noticed that even though the costs where divided among the objects, the cost-centers were not updated.
Considering that the contract doesn't have a cost center field in it and also considering that we have to update multiple cost-centers (with a distribution criteria based on measurements), we would like to know if someone have this kind of problem before?
We are using an older version of the SAP System(4.7) that doesn't offer as many options as more recent versions (such as 6.0)
Thanks a lot!
Gizele BuenoHi,
In this case, instead of Cost centres, Real estate Objects will act as the Cost carriers. No need for Cost centres at all.
Since the Real Estate Objects master data contain Profit centre field, the values posted to Real estate Objects will be automatically carried to the Profit centres as well.
During Periodic processing of Real Estate Contracts, the system will automatically post to the Transfer and Posting. During transfer posting values will be posted from Real Estate Contract to the Real estate Object.
You can track costs and revenues through Real Estate Objects directly, No need for Cost centres at all.
Thanks

Asset used by two cost centers
Hi,
Can some one please explain me if one asset is related to more than one cost center, how the expencess and depriciation is allocated to all related cost centers?
I believe In asset master we can give only one cost center.
Will there be a split entry at the time of aquisition?
Your help is much apriciated.
thank you
vivekHi
Std SAP does not allow to post asset or depreciation in more than one cost centre. If at all you need to post a depreciation in more than 1 cost centre you need to post first in a pooled cost centre which will work as suspense a/c and then go for assessment or distribution. By doing this suspense a/c becomes zero and expenses will be posted to your desired cost centres

Distribution of Costs from CCA to CO-PA
Hi All,
Can someone please help me find a solution to the following scenario?
There is a requirement to distribute costs from CCA to Cust/Prod level in CO-PA.
*The cost allocations factors can only be provided at the Customer Group/Product level.
*Using regular assessment cycles in CO-PA it is possible to distribute these costs to Customer Group/Product level.
*However these costs are to be distributed further to the Customer/Product level in CO-PA based on the revenue value field.
Any suggestions on how this can be done? Can I use top down distribution?
Regards,
KKOption 1:
Step 1 - create assessment to COPA (KEU1). Ensure that you enter customer group and product in the receiver characteristics (second tab)
Step 2- use top down distribution to distribute from customer group to customer.
Please refer to SAP help on top down distribution to see how top-down distribution works if you want to retain 'product' characteristics. They have given examples.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2004/helpdata/en/7a/4c48c64a0111d1894c0000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
Second option:
Step 1 - Carry out top down distribution of the cost allocation factors from customer group/product to customer/group.
Step 2 - Create assessment cycles at customer/product level.
Second option may be a better solution from data volume point of view beacsue top-down-distribution creates two records for sender and receiver in COPA. I am assuming that number of records for top down distribution of cost allocation factors will be less as compared to top down distribution of actual costs from multiple cost centers.
Hope it helps.

Usage of Cost Centers, Profit Centers and Internal Orders
Hello everyone,
i have perhaps for some of you a simple question but it bothers me alot.
Imagine we are using Cost centers and Internal Orders. For them we create statistical key figures using transaction KB31N.
Now we are installing SAP BI and want to create a report which would be generated acording to cost centers but with statistical key figures.
The question would be how to make a connection between cost centers orders and those stat.key.figs?
In our case the economists say that we are using this kind of scenario:
Dist.chanel ->
Sender: Cost center, Cost element
Receiver: Int.Order
and Stat key fig.
This is the only place where we have a connection between thos objects. Is there other way how to connect them. perhaps using profit centers?
If somebody didnt understand it, maybe ill try to explain it a bit better
Reagards
Laurynas PrikockisHi Laurynas,
Pls try to understand the concept as explained hereunder...
Cost Element:
Primary Cost Element : Replication of GL to bring costs into CO module when they are posted in FI
module
Secondary Cost Elements: Carriers of costs between two Cost Objects (when we want to transfer the
cost from Cost Centers to Internal Orders, vice versa and more, we create
Secondary Cost Elements to carry the costs and transfer them to the
reciever objects from sender objects)
Cost Center: It is a Cost Object, maintained on long-term basis, where we can capture the costs (Ex:
Marketing Cost Center)
Internal Order: It is also a Cost Object, maintained on shor-term basis, where we can capture the costs
(Ex: Internal Order for Special Marketing Campaign). Ultimately, whatever the costs
posted to this Internal Order, will get settled to Marketing Cost Center.
Staitistical Key Figure: It is used as a basis for allocation of certain expenses (Simple example would
be, Total rent paid for office is $100000 per month. This cost has to go to
different Cost Centers like Finance and Accounts, Marketing, Purchase Dept
etc on the basis of "Area Occupied". So, We will define "Area Occupied" as a
Statistical Key Figure in our system.
Now, when the Rent amount is posted in FI, it wil reach a Virtual Cost Center
(An "Allocation Cost Center" with name "Rent" to be created under your
Controlling Area) "Rent". From there, it has to reach the other Cost Centers (lie
F&A etc as explained above) on the basis of Area Occupied (SKF Created
for "area occupied")
For this, you need enter the Area Occupied values (Ex:Sq Ft) in KB31N and you need to create an Allocation Cycle (Distribution / Assessment) where in you will select "Area Occupied" (SKF) as your Receiver Tracing Factor.
I hope I am clear, don't hesitate to revert back for more explanation...

Naresh.Hi,
This you can do it in two ways:
1. Make three header under top level....one Product A, 2nd Product B ( as Billing element) and third as Common expense ( only cost). Now 1st & 2 nd WBS, you have to have sales order linking with individual lint item, for third you will accumulate all the common expense till the period end then make a reposting of the same in desired proportion to both products WBS hierarchy
(This is if you want to have a track on the common expense as well.......like planning, budgeting & control)
After this reposting, run RA for individual billing element and hence you will all the complement detailing and control over Revenue and expense with respect to Product A and Product B individually.
2. If you don't want to maintain that kind of detailing the common expense and keep track of it through project, then have cost centers accordingly and make an assesment/ distribution with respect to expenses accumulated at those cost centers for the period to the respective WBS under each product. Then execute the period end processes for the project.
Or
You can try with have two more line items in the costing sheet as an overhead against common expenses with respect each product.
I hope this should help you.

Scrap Sales GL , which type of cost centers need to assign in OKB9
Dear Seniors,
G L account : Scrap Sales:
For this GL a/c , cost element created with Cost element category u201C11u201D (Revenues).
Now in OKB9 i want to make assignments:
With each b.area and cost centers.
Now my doubt is :
In OKB9 which type of cost center I need to assign from the below.
1.Cost center should be with
Cost cntr category u201CFu201D (Production)
Or
2.Cost center category u201DVu201D (Sales)
and another doubts is , in Cost center -control tab: Actual revenues check box, should i select or not in any case.
Please clarify my doubt.
Thanks in AdvHi,
As scrap sales are revenue to the company, undernoted things to be noted here :
1. The cost element category is V - Sales and the control indicator actual revenues box to be unticked.
The posting will be statistical for revenue elements.
2. The revenue recognition has to be equally done in VKOA for the account assignment of this account.
3. You can create a seperate order type for scrap sales and a sales pricing procedure in SD.
4. Check whether the scraps are defined to capture Tax Collected at Source, if so, you have to define
condition types for them too.
5. If the material itself is defined as scrap material then in Material master the Profit Center would have
been assigned and to capture the revenue assign the scrap sales revenue in VKOA.

Create New Cost centers in HR Module
Dear friends,
i wan't to create new cost centers in SAP
we have different Profiles in our company like GSM,WLN,CDMA,WLNGSM,CDMAWLN,GSM+WLN etc and that in differernt locations
i wan't to create cost centers so that any new employee created should fall under some Cost center.
thanksHi,
A small correction to your understanding.
If you go to PO13 and assign the Cost Distribution, it means --> you are assing the cost center to the 'Position', but not to the employee.
Now, while Hiring an employee.. you will be giving above "Position" (which is already assigned with Cost Distribution).. The cost center for the position will become Master Cost center for the employee.
Example
Lets say you have a cost center assigned to the Position and it was your Master Cost Center.
Now If you assign one more Cost Center by using IT0027 in PA30... It becomes your Master Cost Center but not the one assigned to the Position.
Have a good day...!

Hi,
Is it possible to distribute costs from one cost center to other cost centers---but specific cost element at receiver's end?
or will it go to all cost elements under the receiving cost centers?Hi,
Distribution works on the same cost elements; both for sender and receiver. That is if the sender is X, then the receiver will be also X.
