Erases the tranlations in productive system.

Hello,
We are going to productive in two weeks and we have a problem.
We have The Test instance (R/3 4.7 non unicode) with languages DE, EN
and ES.
Then we have the Productive system (R/3 4.7 Unicode) with languages DE,
EN and CS.
We have some programs that begin with /SIE/ and when we transport to
productive all the tranlations we have in porductive disappear. In the
Transport we select the options "Overwrite Originals" and "Overwrite
Objects in uncofirmed Repais".
Is there a way to not overwrite the CS tranlations in productive
without tahking out this two checks?
Now we can't upgrade to unicode the test instance.
Is there anothere way?

You should be using all your systems in your landscape as Unicode. If one is not, it should not be used for transports, specially translation.
Refer to note 0585116 concerning Unicode translation.
Why are you transporting from TST to PRD?

Since it's a new machine, contact Apple's Support and let them deal with it. Allen's already recommended an Apple repair station visit. Do note that if you have AppleCare's protection plan and you're within 50 miles (80 KM) of an Apple repair station, you might be eligible for an onsite repair since yours is a desktop machine (depends on where you're located). BTW, the AppleCare Protection Plan's the best warranty policy available for desktop machines. Get it if you don't have it before contacting Apple.

How to active the transformations in production system when Time stamp error occured in SAP BI.
In SAP BW we use RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL for tranfer rules activation.Is there any chance Activation allowes in production system witout any ABAP programme running.

There is a specific program for that: RSDG_TRFN_ACTIVATE. It will also re-activate the related DTPs.

I Experts,
I have an issue. Someone has deleted one query in Production system.
How can i find who has deleted the query??
I searched the ans for the same i the below threads :-

But it didn't help me as i couldn't understand how to use the transaction SLG1.. Can Someone please explain me how can i find out who has deleted the Query..

Hello,
Please, remember the date on which date the query has seen last time in the production server. You can use the last date in the From date and To date would be current date and execute the SLG1 tcode. It would list you all the logs in the Object text you can search for BEX Query designer and sub object text column you can check for delete logs options.
Double click on the object will list you the query and name. From the user column you can find who has deleted the query.
Might be this can help you for analysis.

How to transport the connection in production system

hi
I have a doubt releaated to connection between SAP BI and Xcelsius.
We have a development server on which i have created universe and then on it Qaaws and finally Xcelsius dashboard.
My doubt is in future they will transport the SAP BI system from Development system to Production system.
In this case Universe ,Qaaws,Xcelsius will work?
will i have to develop this again in production system, or any how it will work with production system?
How excetly development work here when we have connection between SAP BI and Xcelsius in different system from development to quality and then in Production?

assuming that the objects (keyfigures, characteristics, multiprovider) of the underlying query are available in your production system you do not have to create your universe again, rather change the connection data to your SAP server (like SYSID, client number etc) in the universe connection.
Additionally if you are working ith BO XI 3.1 I would suggest to take a look to the LifeCycleManager, a tool which can simplify the transport process from your development to your production environment.

NWDI SP version need to be the same as Production system

I have a question regarding the version of an NWDI installation and the target SAP Systems.
Is it true that all systems must have the same SP version? Can I only develope applications for a WebAS Java SP15 if my NWDI installation is also SP15? And do all WebAS systems need to have the same patchlevel?

Even more,
as the comunication between the DTR and CMS, CBS, Dev Studio is done with standart protocol - WebDav.
You can have the components running on different versions. This is the case for example when you have some old, forgotten (collectiong dust , probably remote DTR server that is used for support of old releases, and the tracks are configured on some newer CMS.
The only important think is to use Dev Studio that is compatible (same release) with your runtime systems you will deploy on, and to import (use for build) SCs that are released for this version.
Hopefuly this clears the picture even further.

Not able to change the data of test data containers in production system

Dear All,
We have created eCATT scripts in Development SolMan System and moved the transports to Production SolMan System. Customer wants to change the data at Test data containers and run the scripts in production system but we are not able to edit the data.
May be the reason is SCC4 transaction code has set the below option.
Changes and transports for client-specific Objects
u2022 No changes allowed
Customer doesnu2019t want to change the above option and wanted to change the test data containers to give different datau2019s and run the eCATT scripts.
Could you please let me know the solution for this?

eCatt has the feature where you don't need to transport the scripts or test configuration to our target system. We can keep all our scripts and test data in Solman and run this script any other system in your landscape using the System data container and target system.
Maintain the production as one of the target system in System container in Solman and point that system while running the script. Change the test data in Solman to run this script.

How to change the worklist in schedule manager in production system

we are using schedule manager (SCMA) to arrange the daily process in SAP system. but we have to config the worklist and transport it to the production system every time cause in production system if we press edit worklist there would be a message called " TK430 The system administrator has set your logon client to the 'not modifiable' status.Client-specific objects can not be changed in this client."
Is there any way that I can directly change the worklist in production system?

Will Queries will be created in the Production system?

Hi all,
Is it possible to create queries directly in the Production System. And if there is an issue in the query in production systems can it be fixed in the production system itself nor it should be moved to development and then to qa and then to production???

Hi,
I am creating all my queries directly in the production system; it all depends on your strategy.
Of course, when you'll have an issue, you'll have to fix it directly in PROD since your query doesn't exists neither in DEV nor in QA.
Based on our authorization concepts where users are allowed to see only some queries we create new queries in PROD with a certain name so that users cannot see that query. We test it with live data and when it's ready we save it as under another name; the query is now released to authorized users in order to test it. When the query is assessed "valid" for the requester, when save it as again this time "LIVE" which is the final version of it. If they're changes, we go trhough the same cycle.
We also use our DEV (we have chosen not to have a QA) to test special scenarios and variable exits....

The scenario is,
when the user is trying to add the issue for production system is showing error item cost not
found.The item which is issued is Inventory + purchase item with manual issue method.The valuation
method for that item is FIFO.since the valuation method is FIFO,error related to item cost should
not occur.
Since the valuation method is FIFO.Item cost error should not occur.
The error related to item cost must not occur at the time of issue for production.

Support message and change requests only for production system

Hi guys,
I would like to connect the solman helpesk with CHARM ( CHARM is still running ).
In CHARM I have to create a CR only for production system. ( don't know why - but works as designed).
In SAP helpdesk I can create support messages for every kind of system type but if I want to connect both (HD and CR) , the source system (ibase component) of the issue will copied to the CR and runs in error because of the rule (only p-system) of CHARM.
Of course I can change the ibase to production system manually in SDCR but it seems a very error-prone method.
Now my question: is it possible to change the ibase component due to the creation of CR by copy rule or something like this?

Hi Rayko,
We do not have this option.
Once in ChaRM, we assume that the changes will always correct an issue in the PROD system.
I would recommend to open the tickets directly with the PROD system IBase, once the issue is also happening there.

Early Delta Initialization option in Production system

Hi Experts,
I have seen some threads related to Early Delta initialization in this forum. I have a question regarding this option.
To minimize the downtime/block users in the R/3 production system during set up tables fillup I would like to use the Early delta option. Please give your suggestions on the following procedure:
For Sales Orders, billing and Deliveries
1. Initialize Early delta in the BI system.
2. Go and fill setup tables
3. Do a full load to BI
4. Run delta job in R/3 (LBWE)
5. Run delta job in BI Info package
Do we miss any documents in this process for e.g. during set up tables fill up changes to existing documents or newly created sales orders.
I feel we won't miss. All changes will be reflected in Delta queue. And even newly created orders also will be coming to delta queue.
Please let me know if I am wrong.

According to my understanding, during the filling of set up table if a user does any posting, then the data available in BW will be incorrect.

In your sequence the 4th step
4. Run delta job in R/3 (LBWE), this means you are using queued or unseriallized v3 update.
Early delta iniliazation essentially of no advantage because, as conventional initialization procedures, you can readmit document
postings after successfully filling the setup tables.
can anybody clear my doubt. is it possible during setup table filling user can post a document.
I know the documents will be collected in the queue. But the data loaded to bw will be incorrect right?

Content Server config for production system - oac0

Hi all
We are setting up content server for our ERP 2005 system, and I am wondering what best practice is for our scenario.
We have one content server (CST) for development and test systems on host A, and one content server (CSP) for production system on host B. The Archive link configuration in dev and test points to CST. When this is transported to production, it will point to the wrong content server and I will have to reconfigure the archivelink in production to point to the correct content server (CSP).
What is the best way to set up the production system to point to the content server CSP on host B? Should I define a new content repository in t-code oac0 in dev, and transport this to production? Should I define the new repository directly in production system??
Please advise.

I had the same problem a few years ago with R/3 4.7.
I don't think there is a perfect solution but here is what I did :
In the DEV system, in OAC0, I created 2 content repositories, one for the test sytem and one for the production. I transported these 2 content repositories in the production system.
In the DEV system, in OAC3, I created temporary links from my business objects to my production content repository. I released the request order.
Then I deleted these links which are wrong in the DEV system. I transported the order in the R/3 production system where these links are right.
In the DEV system, in OAC3, I then created the links from my business objects to my TEST content repository. I released the second request order.
So my config is now OK in my test and my production system.
When we refresh the DEV system by a database copy from the production system. We just have to reimport the test request order to switch the links to be OK on the DEV system. We don't have to recreate the test content repository as it was defined als oi nthe production system.
I am not sure that this is clear but this works for us with no problems since 2002.

Physical Inventory Document deletion in Production system

Hi Friends,
There is an physical inventory document # xxxxxxxxx from 2003, which has
also posting block, which is likely to cause that couple of materials
can not be maintained.
Now This document needs to be simply deleted in tx
MI02. I tried this in Test system and did not have any trouble.
However I am not sure can i do the deletion in Production system..??
Pleae guide me is there any problem in production to cancel this Document.
What type of precations i need to take care in Production system.

You can delete it directly, it is not an issue, if you want to cross check ( if the material with CC), you can run in MICn for those materials and generate session page you can see for avail for the generate session to create the new PI/CC (based on the Last count date as the older one, not the recently counted and deleted,,)
