Error 0x800736FD

I can't install Itunes 10.5 and QuickTime 7.7 either
Please help D:'

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 800736FD, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?)

    Hi there AAA87,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like there’s an issue downloading iTunes on your PC, even after trying some recommended troubleshooting suggestions. I’m not sure which suggestions you’ve tried, so if you haven’t already, try the troubleshooting suggestions in the article linked below.

I can't download itunes to my windows 7 computer. It gives me a error 0x800736fd.

Don't know about that error but have you tried:
Make sure iTunes is uninstalled, restart your computer, redownload and install iTunes (make sure you download the right one. If you have a 64-bit Windows7 then download the iTunes 64bit version).
Hopefully this works for you. If not then somebody in this forum should know the answer.

  • Error 0x800736FD when installing iTunes + QuickTime

Well, I finally caved. I bought my first digital portable media player. The people on the street were throwing things at me, and my doctor said he might have to operate my shoulder. The boombox had to go!
So, I'm trying to install iTunes. My Dell machine came with an "Apple Software Update" program installed. It's been bugging me to install iTunes since I got it, so this time I clicked OK and let do its thing.
The automatic updater "Apple Software Update" is trying to install "iTunes + QuickTime" version 7.4.3. It goes through the download phase OK, then starts the installation. After about 10 minutes (wherein the installation has not progressed in the last 9 minutes), an error message appears in a separate window:
    iTunes + QuickTime
    (X) An error has occured during the installation of Microsoft.VC80.CRT,publicKeyToken="1fc...",type="win32",version="8.0.50727.762" ,processorArchitecture="x86". Refer to Help for more information. HRESULT: 0x800736FD.
Has anyone seen this before or know how I can get around it? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Stephen

Have you tried downloading iTunes yourself and installing it manually?
You can download the iTunes installer from here:

An unknown error occurred (0x80092013) what the **** is going on  from last six month i am unable to access i tune store?pls give me solution which should help me to shortout this problem as soon as possible. i have not expected this from apple

I have been trying for months to put iTunes on my laptop and kept getting installation errors in Windows 7. I gave up and just installed iTunes on my PC running XP.
Now I have to install Quicktime on the laptop and once again I get an installation error 0x800736FD.
All windows updates are fine, none failed.
I have removed all apple software from my laptop using CCleaner, common files and folders. Tried reinstalling and still the same error.
Could you offer any advice on how to get both quicktime and then iTunes working??
    Thank you in advance

  • I am having all kinds of issues I've tried numerous settings done this and that read forum after forum and haven't got anything to work for me yet.

ok so here's my issue, live in the countryside with no internet access except thru my iPhone 6. I have a MacBook Pro mid 2012, Apple TV, and an airport express. I have tinkered with setting after settong and am still having an absolute nightmare! So i use my airport express as A local router for the most part. I have it set up to where I can connect my iPhone to my macbook share the Internet thru the Ethernet port to the express and then I can broadcast Internet to everything. When I have my computer set up to stream stuff from the cw such as TV episodes it will play perfectly fine on the laptop but not thru the Apple TV. I had to watch the Super Bowl on my macbook because it didn't work To stream to the TV. The same thing goes when streaming from my iPhone 6. It will play perfectly on the phone and absolutely fine. My airport express when playing music streaming to my airport express it would randomly stop playing thru the speakers but still play on the iPhone for a couple of seconds occasionally up to about 10 seconds then it would play again. This is killing me I've spent so much time over the past week or two since I've got this express trying to get things ironed out. All firmware is up to date on everything. In order to get the apple TV to AirPlay from my phone in the past which worked perfectly fine last year shortly after I got it Id connect the Apple TV to the hotspot on my phone. I'd let to be able to connect my iPhone to my express and then have my iPhone still try to pull signal from the cell tower instead of from the wifi but I didn't think that was possible. Please please please help me. This has been soo stressful!!!

Head into your Windows Update, and check for any new updates. Do any fail? If so, open your Update History and doubleclick on the failure entries to bring up a small box with alphanumeric error message codes. Are you getting 8000FFFFs? (They often seem to be associated with an iTunes-install 0x800736FD.)
If you're getting 8000FFFFs, try the following Microsoft document:

I recently tried to upgrade my itunes on my dell laptop with 64 bit windows 7. It stopped working so I deleted all files and tried to reinstall and haven't been able to since. I've tried numerous things i've read in forums and nothing seems to work. The installation will not move past the "publishing product information" point. After being stuck there for a while this error message appears:
An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,version="8.0.50727.4053",type="win32",publicKeyToken="1fc8b 3b9a1e18e3b",process or Architecture="x86"', Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x800736FD
I hope someone is able to help me with this.

  • When I try to install Itunes updates, an error code always comes up; HRESULT: 0x800736FD. What do I do to resolve this? Thanks.

I have tried un-installing and re-installing, but it hasn't worked.
The error code is coming up as HRESULT: 0x800736FD.

That's a less common one (in this context).
Perhaps try the following Microsoft document:
    Windows Update error 80246005
Does that get your Windows Updates installing again? If so, stock up on the ones you're behind on (restarting the PC if requested to do so). You might have to do this in more than one batch (depending on when the 80246005 started happening and how far you're behind).
Once you're up to date, try the iTunes install again. Does it go through properly this time?
