I met an error (-2146827284 )when i used "excel easy table.vi" in the generate report path. the problem occured when i passed the array with an element which is string length 1392.

Verify that the file path is correct and that you are not sending data to a location that has not been allocated yet.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by the array with the string length of 1392... Do you mean that you are trying to write to a single cell a string which is 1392 characters long? If so, I don't think Excel supports such a long string for a single cell.. But I probably misunderstood something..

Error code -2146827284 when trying to programmatically assign X and Y values to an excel chart series

I am trying to export data to an excel spreadsheet from Labview 6.1 using Activex Automation, then plot a chart in excel using this data. I can successfully move the data and can build the chart, but I can only assign one of the data axis (either the XValues, or the Values (ie Y values) property of the class, depending which I set first). I get a message "Exception occured in Microsoft Excel, Unable to set the Values property of the Series class." with an error code of -2146827284. See example code in case I have done anything stupid. Anyone got any ideas?

Robert, thanks for responding. I was aware of the excel size limits but I don't think this is the issue here. The code I attached before tries to set first "XValues" to A2:A5 and then "Values" to c2:c5 (well within the range of excel I think ;-) ). I have attached this again and also added an image of the diagram with probes on the key places. It always succeeds on the first "set" function, and then fails on the next one. Just to confuse things it works fine if I set the "XValues" and "Values" to an array of integers. I am running Labview 6.1 on windows XP with Office XP installed as well.

I get the error code -2146827284 when trying to run an Ecxel macro from LabVIEW.

I am trying to insert data in an Excel workbook and then run a macro which I recorded in Excel to produce a plot.
This worked great on a laptop running W2K + LV7 and Office 2000.
I am now trying to do the same thing on a WinXP + LV7 + Excel 2002 and I get this error.
The complete message is:
"Error -2146827284 occurred at Exception occured in Microsoft Excel, Programmatic access to Visual Basic Project is not trusted
. Help Path is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\1033\xlmain10.chm and context 0 in Excel Import Module.vi->LV report test1.vi
This error code is undefined. No one has provided a description for this code, or you might have wired a number that is not an
error code to the error code input."
Can anyone shed some light on this. Running a macro is the obvious and easy way to get this work done.

My test software will work fine for about 30 to 40 mins returning the scanned Wi-Fi networks
After 40 Minutes, i usually get an error stating
Error code: 22, Error domain com.apple.coreWLAN.error, Error userinfo: (null)

We have had this problem. Please delete the change log table of the ODS in the QA or Prod system (whichever is the target for your transport request) and then reimport the transport request.

Ever get error code "-2146827284" when trying to open an Excel workbook using ActiveX

The error message claims that the file cannot be found, but the file is clearly there. Ever seen this?
Strangely, this happens on one machine, but not on another. I'm suspecting some kind of ActiveX incompatibility and would love suggestions on how to track this bugger down (I submitted to support also).

My suggestion is that if you know exactly where does your Excel ActiveX Library resides, please look for it and re-register it in windows, using the regsvr32 command. If not, please check wether the Excel version of the machine that is having problems is the same version as the machine where it is actually working. Last resource you may want to try to reinstall Excel after trying some of the Excel examples that came with LabVIEW. I fixed the problem.. but it was very, very strange. I had a very long section for credits and set the line spacing to 1.0.. for some reason this caused it. I removed it, and it worked fine. I put it back, and I couldn't preview or play the video.
I don't know why that could cause that big of a problem, but it did..

You can look at the pref security.ssl.renego_unrestricted_hosts on the about:config page and add the sites that you want to allow to the string value. 
Separate multiple host names by a comma.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
You can use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a pref more easily.

Getting error 3001 when using Excel Easy Table.vi

When making a call to Excel Easy Table.vi (Report Generation Toolkit) I get a 3001 error.
I have attached an example VI to demonstrate the problem. Please run "Add Table Example.vi" in the attached zip. This sample program is made up of VIs from a larger program, so it made more sense to create a sample program and only include the required VIs than include the entire large program. So that is why the Report class wire comes from a functional global VI.
What is a bit strange is that Excel Easy Table is used to write a summary table at the top of the spreadsheet successfully in "Initialize Report.vi." It is only when I then make the additional call to Excel Easy Table in Add Table Example that I get the 3001 error. If you have any ideas why I'm getting the 3001 error, please let me know.
I'm using LabVIEW 8.6 and RGTK 1.1.4.

Hey Joel,
I figured out why this error was occuring. After comparing how you were adding the columns in the Report Write Info Table.vi in the Initialize Report.vi to just using the Excel Easy table VI, you hadn't provided a reference to which worksheet it needed to write the data to. I changed your code to include this reference and it worked perfectly without any errors. I have attached a .zip file with those changes so you can look at it.
FYI: Don't try to use this code as a direct replacement with yours. In order for me to reproduce the error, I had to modify several VIs in order to get it to run.
I hope this information helps you with it.

Exporting to excel..error in using excel easy table.vi

Am using excel easy table.vi to export my data to excel.....it contains a date field...When exported to excel,the date and month is getting interchenged.
ie,05/03/2008 is converted as 03/05/2008...What is the work around for this?
i read in one of the posts that have to format the date filed using Excel Set cell Format.vi..I tried wth that ,but so far cudnt fix...i tried wth using @ in the number format..then i was getting a string instead of datetime.When used%d/%m/%Y..then i was getting error.
If i can use that,how do i.
My datetime filed is the first column in the 2D array.

Hi,
Excel handles date and time as a floating point decimal representation. The integral value (to the left of the decimal) represents the number of days since the beginning of the 20th century. The decimal value represents the time of day from midnight in seconds divided by 86,400 (i.e. 6:00:00PM = 0.75).
Excel chooses the default regional date format (i.e. MM/DD/YYYY, DD/MM/YYYY, etc.) based on your current location setting. You can manually change the format of a particular cell by right clicking on any cell and selecting 'Format Cells', then selecting 'Date', and finally changing the 'Locale (location)' to the desired format. This allows you to format the date however you'd like.
Unfortunately, Microsoft Excel does not have a text function to programatically change the 'Locale (location)' setting for a cell. This means that if you need to send a date through the Report Generation Toolkit that is in a format different from the current location setting, you will need to convert the date representation to text. This will change the way Excel handles the cell data from the date format mentioned above to a simple text sting. For example, if you're trying to convert the date '12/24/2008' in cell A1 into '24/12/2008', you can use the following code:
=TEXT(A1,"dd/mm/yyyy")
If you try to keep the cell formatted as a date, Excel will interpret '24' as a month and '12' as a date, which results in an incorrect date. There is no easy way to programatically convert this text string back into a date without manually changing the date format of the cell.

Patch for error code 2131 when burning CDs in itunes for Toshiba computers:

Just today, Toshiba posted patch for the infamous "error code 2131" when trying to burn CDs in itunes on many Toshiba laptops. Lucky for me, today was the first time I tried to do so, but I feel for all you other folks who have been very frustrated about this issue. Here is the link to it on the Toshiba support page:

hmmmmm. i'm proceeding under the assumption that you've got a Dell 5150/E510. if i'm wrong about that, please check in with Dell to confirm your model prior to applying any updates.
i had a look at the support site for your model (or at least, what i'm assuming your model is). your firmware appears to be up to date for the HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GWA4164B that you're getting the error on, but there does seem to be newer firmware available for the SONY DVD-ROM DDU1615. so it might be worth getting that, just in case there some kind of odd interaction happening between the drives.

i´ve search across the board, technet and symantec sites but did not found a hint about my problem.
we drive a 2 node DAG (Location1-Ex1-mb1
Location2-exc1-mb1), on SP2 RU4 patchlevel with 40 Databases.
Since some time the backup of one - and only one DB - is failing with these events, logged on the Mailboxserver on which the passive DB is hosted.

to restart the MS Exchange Replication Service – BUT the mentioned eventID
8229 isn´t present on any of the both Mailboxservers.
The affected Database is active on Location2-Exc1-Mb1 Server and in an overall healthy state. I found during my research, that below Location2-Exc1-Mb1 Server, there are not removed shadow copies present!
This confuses me, since all Backups are normally taken from the passive copy of a Database.
So my questions to the board are:
* Does anyone is facing similar issues?
* Can someone explain why snapshots are present on the Mailboxserver hosting the Active Database, whilst the errors are logged on the passive one?
-          * Does someone know the conditions, why shadows copies remain and
aren´t removed in a proper manner?
What can cause the circumstance, that only 1 DB is facing such issues?
Any suggestion is welcome!

I´ve encreases VSS / Exchange Backup Log levels to expert, before starting
those things i´ve all tried now:
- Backup from passive DB (forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
- Backup from active DB (forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
- Backup from passive DB without GRT enabled (forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
- Backup from active DB without GRT enabled(forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
All those attempts failed.
But brought some more details - the backup against the active DB states, that there is still a backup in progress and therefore this backup is cancelled by VSS.
The Solution was, that i´ve needed to restart the Exchange Replication Service on the Mailbox Server hosting the passive DB.
Backups are working again on all DBs!

I keep getting error code 4450 when I'm trying to burn a CD from itunes. It keeps my CD and won't eject it and says "cancelling burn" forever then itunes locks up and my cd is ruined and NO songs on it.

i can't burn cd's in iTunes anymore. I get error code 4450 when I'm trying to burn a playlist. Songs from my own cd's, or bought in iTunes (have not burned 7x's as I can't BURN any cd's at all!), Then my cd gets stuck in the drive. and it says "cancelling burn" forever and then itunes freezes up. I have a Dell with Windows 7.
-I've slowed down the burn as slow as it can go
-I have bought 3 different brands of cd's
-i have the latest version of iTunes.
Can someone help me?

I have Windows 7 on a Dell. Open and play iTunes in the compatability mode and use Windows XP (service pack 2). Disregard any messsages to disable the compability mode. This has worked for me. I have also reinstalled iTunes and played with burn speeds etc. These ideas did not work. Compatability mode works.
