  • Serious Error shutdown message while exporting media

I am encountering an odd error message (from which I have never seen) when trying to export a project from Premiere Pro CC.
The error message (Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project) shuts down Premiere about 11-25% into the export. If I remove all effects on the media, the file exports fine, but will not if the effects remain on the media.
I have checked the permissions (as per Adobe forum advice), and they all allow me to read and write files, so that is not the issue. I have also restarted my computer, uninstalled / reinstalled Premiere, and tried rendering in different outputs, none of  which have worked.
I also have the error code, but am unaware of how to attach it to this question.
    Set up:
    Late 2012 iMac
    Mac OSX 10.9.2
    3.9 GHz Intel Core i7
    8GB memory
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB
    Premiere Pro CC
    Using H2.64 in .MP4 files
    Installed Plug ins:
Red Giant Magic Bullet Color Suite (used DeNoiser II in media)
Has anyone any clue as to what I should do/try next?
    Thanks for any input,
    Michael

I apologize about the length, but I am unaware of how to attach the error
code, so I am just going to past them.

  • Z61m fan stops after a few seconds - fan error, shutdown

    Hello,
while booting the fan works fine for 3-5 second, but then it suddenly stops and i get a "fan error" message and the system shuts down. i cleaned the fan and look for any obstacles - but with no success. Once (several tries) the fan start working just shortly after the fan error message appeared, but the system shutted down too.
    TIA
    Steve

Your first avenue of problem resolution is to get a new fan, if that don't work then the motherboard is the ultimate culprit of your problem, there is not much other way of solving your hardware problem.

  • "unexpected error" shutdowns from Microsoft Office -- a serious problem?

    Hello.
I have a brand new MacBook. I recently installed Microsoft Office 2003 on it. Most of the time everything works fine but usually once a day an application just quits. It's not a problem for me to open it up again but I'm concerned that, if my computer is acting up when it is so new, what's going to happen when my warranty runs out!
Do I need to have it serviced? I live in a place with no mac store so it's a big decision for me to "send it in for servicing" (e.g., ship it away for a few weeks). I really don't want to do that unless it is necessary.
    Thanks for your help!

    HI Eva,
You indicated the Microsoft Office is a 2003 version. Might not be compatible with Mac OS Leopard. Check the Microsoft site. You might have to upgrade your Word software in order for it to work.
Check the boot disk for errors just in case. Restart your Mac while holding down the C key, pressing the power button and inserting your restore disk all at the same time. An Installer window will open, but do not proceed with any installations. Instead, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities > Disk Utility. In the Disk Utility window click First Aid, and then click Verify. If Disk Utility reports errors, click Repair. When Disk Utility is finished, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Disk. Select MacintoshHD 10.x.x and click Restart.

  • Unexpected error:quitting

    Hi all,
I have the error coming unexpected error:quitting when my application is logged in from standard user. But when i login from admin user it works perfectly fine.Is there something i need to change in IE9 please do let me know. This error comes when my application
is downloaded from IE9 to download program files.
1.The application is downloaded when a web url is accessed.
2.The complete error message displayed is "unexpected error:quitting".
    3. Application is working fine with WindowsXP.
4.We are getting the error message when we are using our application from IE9 and Windows7.
This error is coming across all machines and is not an issue with system error/shutdown error/malware attack/corrupted files.

    Thanks Michael,
Regarding the first question your understanding is correct.Yes we are using compatibility view
    in IE9.
See we tried downloading a basic activex dll and we were unable to download it.Yes we are in a
domain environment.Does IE9 have a problem in domain env?If yes if there is any patch for it?
As far as the user permissions are concerned we have set the UAC setting to minimum security.

    Hi Steve,
We are also not getting that error on NT. We are not getting SIGBUS error
at particular point/place. Randomly (approx after 30 min)
the server will give this SIGBUS error & shutdowns.
I tried with -native option with JAVA VM also. Still we are getting the same
    error.
We are using ORACLE8.1.5 with Weblogic's OCI driver.
I feel this problem may be related to "jdk1.2.2_05a" on Solaris!!
Weblogic guys: Will weblogic supports jdk1.2.2_05a on Solaris?
    thanks

Ravi, I am developing on WL 4.5.1 and solaris 2.6 with SIGBUS 10 erroralso
(I also have jdk 1.2.2_05a) I do NOT think it has anything to do withthis,
java always runs with -native on, infact you cannot turn it off. I am
using HTMLkona, and getting this (from the thread dump) in
    weblogic.html.OptionElement.
Do you know where yours is coming from?
I have been hacking at this for 3 days, and have submitted to
[email protected] as well. I still cannot figure out why this happens. The
really strange thing is, it WORKS on Windows NT.
Please respond, maybe we can help each other solve this problem.

  • Shutdown immediate hangs and HVM of a database

    Hi,
    I have following questions,
    1. What are the possible causes of SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE command hangs
    and doesnt responds.
    2. What do u mean by High Water Mark(HVM) of a database. Because when we
give SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE command there is message in alert log file
mentioning the HVM of a database.
3.Also is there any relationship between shutdown process taking long time to
shutdown a database and HVM of a database.
    4. If the database instance is up for a long time then does it take long time to
    shutdown a instance.
    Thanks,
    Girish A

    Hello,
for 1.) view Metalink Note:375935.1. Maybe you even get an error: "SHUTDOWN: Waiting for active calls to complete". This has nothing to do with HWM but with already logged on sessions. Immediate means new connections are not able to log in, existing connetions are not disconnected at once.
for 2.) the HWM is the highest point to which datafiles have been filled up. This is the value to which you are able to shrink (if you desire to). View Metalink Note:1034330.6 for message "License high water mark" in alert.log at shutdown ("highest number of concurrent users sessions").

I could get this fixed by changing the jdk version from 1.5 to 1.4.2_09, but now I fail at step 21 of 28 ,
can you please look at the post (a little above or below this POST)

  • Bootcamp 5.1.1 on Mac Pro Cylinder can't install Windows 8

    Hi,
I've gone through almost every discussion regarding the common issue "Windows coud not update the computer's boot configuration" but none is related to Bootcamp version 5.1.1 and latest Mac Pro cylinder.
I already tried the solution presented by Jarvil at this discussion: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23545780#23545780
Based on Jarvil's solution there is a very important thing that is not happening in my case, that is that I never get the option to boot from the "Windows" partition. I only have 3 options, 1) Macintosh HD 2) Recovery 3) EFI Boot.
By not having the option to boot from Windows partition I automatically deviate from Jarvil's solution.
So, I proceed with EFI boot, I reach the step where I have to select the partition and I pick the 4th partition and it says that Windows can't be installed in this partition so I delete/format it and proceed with installation and it goes all well until the very end where it's finishing the install that I get the message:
"Windows coud not update the computer's boot configuration".
I also tried skipping the install --> login into Mac OS X --> Disk Utility --> Delete partition --> Create ExFAT partition (tried FAT also) --> Reboot --> EFI Boot (Windows partition still not available) --> Format partition --> Proceed with install --> Same error again.
After the error, it reboots and then I get a blue screen (**** Windows blue screens) with a message:
    Recovery
Your PC Needs to be repaired
The Boot Configuration Data file is missing some required information.
    File: \BCD
    Error code: 0x0000034
You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer.
So I reboot holding Option key and now the partition Windows appears and if I boot from it I get the same blue screen with the recovery error. So I reboot again and login into OSX, go to Disk Utility and delete the "Untitled" partition and I recreate it using ExFAT but then it gets stuck "Preparing to partition disk".
    I'm attaching snapshots.
I really hope that someone from Apple support can provide a solution. Thank you very much in advance.
    Alejandro

It's not an Apple response but it is something which worked for me. This is an exerpt from a post I made on another site. It's a bit involved and you may think this should not be necessary (and you'd be right) but if you want to try it you're welcome. No guarantess.
Install Windows again just like you did before with Bootcamp (but you may have to remove any traces of it first).
So starting again with Bootcamp Assistant and with Macintosh using the whole disc again begin the process.
Allow Windows to be installed as normal.
When the BCD error box opens up DO NOT click on OK - immediately do a hard shutdown of the Mac by holding the power button. This is so the changes are not rolled back.
Start up the Mac again holding the Alt key and choose the USB EFI Boot option in the boot menu (it will be orange). At this point if you get a Windows blue screen error shutdown and take out the USB then restart the machine holding Alt and at the boot menu plug in the USB again and do the above.
At the installer's start screen press shift + F10 to get a command prompt.
    In the command prompt type
    diskpart and hit enter
    type
    list volume  and hit enter
Note the volume letters and numbers of all the volumes .  One should be an EFI partition of type FAT32 and it will have no drive letter.
    Now type
list volume and hit enter (note the letters and numbers of the displayed volumes) One will be your EFI partition of FAT32 type and it will have no letter, just a number.
    type
select volume X (where X is the number of your EFI partition) and hit enter
    type
    assign letter=B and enter
    type
    exit and enter
    type
bcdboot C:\Windows /l en-GB /s B: /f ALL   *** note the /l en-GB is for locality and language and will default to English US if not changed. Obviously you need to change to your own locale and language code***
press enter (after checking all spaces etc). You may also struggle to find the \ key on your keyboard, it may change position once in command prompt!.
After a few seconds it should report that the boot files were written. If it does that you can type in
wpeutil reboot and press enter at which point your Mac will reboot. Hold the Alt key and choose your new EFI Boot option and hopefully Windows will boot.
Obviously all of this can be a little daunting and should not be taken on lightly. Having said that Windows is not currently installing and you've got nothing to lose. You can always go back to what you have now (with TM backups of course, and maybe even without).
    Good luck

  • 1:1 View not working in Windows 7?

    Hi folks,
I know it's not officially supported but I was wondering if others have seen this as well:
I'm running Windows 7 Build 7000 x64 on a Intel Quad Core, 4Gb Ram, NVIDIA 7600GT. When I run LR 2.2 or 2.3RC either in 32bit or 64bit mode then whenever I go to 1:1 zoom in Develop mode I don't see the image but a gray area instead. When moving the area the picture shows but as soon as you release the mouse button, the image is replaced by a gray area again.
Also, in Library mode I see weird behaviour as well. The image gets distorted, rotates or is shown partly or as a jigsaw.
    Anyone seen this as well?
    Cheers, Danny.

It is too bad that there is pent up demand for a new OS that is not Vista since Windows 7 is indeed still Vista. It is only Windows 6.1 - that is an incremental upgrade to Vista's 6.0. I am sorry but the fact of life is that the reason so many things seem to work "well" in Windows 7 is that the core is the same OS for which the apps were designed. Again, however, it is still a beta of that upgrade and still has numerous issues consistent with a beta.
Now to a few of my list of identified issues. Outlook 2007 on both machines I have tested has resumed a periodic error/shutdown for which MS indicates a patch is available. The patch has been long been installed - it has even been uninstalled and reinstalled and the error and supposed solution still pop up. Actually, Office 2007 was unistalled and reinstalled and the error will still pop up every day or two. If, I go back to Vista SP 1 it goes away.
On another front, if I set up a column with an auto-calculating field in Excel, change the formula and drag the handle down to change the rest of the column, the column will completely update but the mouse pointer will freeze half way down . In Word, I will occasionally have the graphical indicator that something is being saved when nothing is being saved - there isn't even a hit in the processor activity to indicate anything is active (other than Word). Lines of small font text near the bottom of a page in Word will also periodically (and randomly) appear compressed or expanded.
To go on, neither laptop will go back to sleep at a specified interval after being awaken for a backup function - this was not an issue with the same settings under Vista. For another, after deleting a couple menu items from the start menu, the corresponding items in the taskbar/superbar were frozen (and could not be removed).
Of course, biggest of all, there are numerous people who can attest to the fact that the Windows Home Server backup/restore function is completely useless. It is also deceptive since it creates valid backup copies that you then can't open. Those, of course, are all MS apps and OS functions so I guess MS is "non-standard" too.
My point here is not to criticize the state of Windows 7, and I also apologize to everyone just here to see LR discussion. Windows 7 is going to be a nice OS and I am quite willing to deal with a few minor issues in the beta. With the exception of the backup issue, all of the above (including the LR display issue) are indeed minor issues. At its core Windows 7 is solid and around the edges (i.e., the new stuff) it has issues. That is exactly what I expect from a beta. I am really just tired though of hearing people imply it is something akin to perfection and needs to be out immediately, or suggesting that there is something wrong with an Adobe app that is being run on an unsupported beta. As I said before, if I worked for Adobe I would waste a penny on Windows 7 fixes until the RC is out.

  • All ****'s broken loose on my MBP.  Need advice from the techno savvy!

I have a refurbished MBP that I bought about 2 weeks ago. (from an apple reseller) For the past 3 or 4 days, safari will just shut down randomly and the shutdowns have since increased in frequency. I downloaded Firefox to see if it was a Safari issue and Firefox shut down the same as Safari. Starting last night, I started getting this dark screen overlay and a message that OSX has quit working and I need to restart by pressing the power button. It has happened while using various applications with no pattern. When I restart the computer, I get an error screen that says that OSX had an unexpected error/shutdown and gives me the option to report it to Apple. I will include the problem details below. This afternoon, my optical drive quit working and the only way to get the CD out of the drive is to shut the computer down. Once I insert a CD, the drive keeps "revving", the keyboard backlight pulses with the revving, and it just doesn't sound good. There's no way to end it except hitting the power button. When I try to run Disk Utility, it shows that I have a lot of permissions that are broken, but then it gives me an error message and won't finish or repair them. If anyone has some advice, I'd appreciate it! I didn't get any OSX disks when I bought the computer, so I suspect it will have to be returned back to the shop. I thankfully bought their 2 year insurance that is supposed to cover everything that AppleCare would normally. It's a 2.33 HGz Intel Duo, 2GB. I'm not sure when it was originally released. I'm running 10.5.8 on it. Thanks to anyone who can give me some advice on what to do with it!
    Rebecca

According to Mactracker, the 2.33 GHz processor is on the 15-inch and on the 17-inch Core 2 Duo, which was released in October 2006 and discontinued in June 2007. It was originally released with OS X 10.4.8.
You should have been given a set of the original gray system discs and a full retail Leopard disc.
The permissions issue is not something to be overly concerned about:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1448?viewlocale=en_US
Your computer has some serious issues, and without the discs and a working optical drive, it probably won't be possible to fix them. So the first thing is to go back to the shop and insist that they fix the optical drive and supply you with the discs that you should have.
Do you have a good backup or access to another Mac? If so, it might be possible to rescue any data on your Mac using FireWire Target Disk Mode:

It's likely that your hard drive will need to be reformatted, which would destroy any data you may have on it. So it would be prudent to rescue anything you want to keep before taking it in.
Once you get it back, be sure to run the extended version of the Apple Hardware test, which will be on one of the original system discs.
Also, it wouldn't hurt to download and run this utility:
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/32454
You can download the demo and run it several times for free. It will give you a good analysis of the physical health of your hard drive. It may be that the drive has already been replaced, but if not and it is still the original, then it would be 3 or 4 years old by now. The average useful life of a notebook drive is 3-5 years.
You might also want to look at this article on kernel panics:
    http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/kernelpanics.html
Do take it back to the shop and see what they will do for you. I agree with the possibility of getting a replacement machine or your money back if they can't give you the discs and fix the machine to your satisfaction.
    Good luck!

  • 9.0.4 install fails due to listener.....HELP !!!

    HI ALL
I am trying to install 9.0.4 AS on Sun OS 5.8 with 9.0.2.3 already installed in separate home. I receive error - shutdown listener in 9.0.2.3 home or use same listener for 9.0.4 install as well.
I don't want to use same listener for new install. Now how can i change the listener port for new install. Is there any config file like port.ini, which i can change during install.
    Thanks
    Amit

Sometimes this type of error is caused by a corrupt file if you are sure permissions are OK.
Try running a disk check to see if that fixes anything.
If it doesn't try deleting the problem file. If that doesn't work try renaming it.
If Windows will not even let you rename it, try renaming the containing folder.
After that, try installing again, the installer should not see the bad file and hopefully it will go through OK.
