Error The SAPinst GUI

Hi,
I downloaded the trail version of SAPNW2004s trying to run the SAPinst.exe file
i am getting the fallowing error.
The SAPinst GUI could not be started because a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) could not be found.
any body please give me some solution to this prob. thanks in advance.

You should install Java Runtime Environment (JRE) first. You can download from http://java.sun.com.
After installing JRE, you have to set JAVA_HOME=C:\directory\where\java\is\installed.
You can do it by right click on My Computer - Properties. Choose Advanced Tab - Environment Vaiables.
On System variables, click New
After that fill Variable Name with JAVA_HOME and fill Variable value =C:\directory\where\java\is\installed
And then you can start SAPinst GUI again. Hope that can help you.

Hi All,
I Found the Solution.
The SAPinst tool was somehow not able to extracte the
J2EEINSTALL.SAR files from the JAVA Components DVD.
So I manually extracted the the file in the temporary install folder which the SAPinst creates in the /tmp filesystem (on LINUX by deafult) during the installation process.
The following command is used (I used this on Red Hat LINUX 5.2) to extract the J2EEINSTALL.SAR file:-
/sapmnt/SMD/exe/SAPCAR
-xvf /dump/SR4_Java_Components/D51033521/DATA_UNITS/JAVA_J2EE_OSINDEP_J2EE_INST/J2EEINSTALL.SAR
/sapmnt/SMD/exe/SAPCAR -->source directory of the file SAPCAR which is used to extarct CAR / SAR files on UNIX
/dump/SR4_Java_Components/D51033521/DATA_UNITS/JAVA_J2EE_OSINDEP_J2EE_INST/J2EEINSTALL.SAR--> destination dir. where the SAPinst tool will read and execute the file.

Error when calling the SAP GUI

Hello everybody,
i have installed the NW2004s SneakPreview on my Notebook. Since then i cant call the sap gui anymore (installed the latest version from SAP Service Marketplace).
Im getting the error:
'The procedure entry point 'RfcResetTraceDir' could not be located in the dynamic link library 'LIBRFC32.dll' .'

Please try coping the LIBRFC32.DLL file from....
C:\usr\sap\NSP\DVEBMGS00\exe
to
C:\WINDOWS\system32

I think you did not set display variable. Use this command & try again:-
export DISPLAY = <IP Address of presentation server>:0.0
And run ./sapinst

A SAPinst GUI question - can't connect to port 21212

Hello,
I'm trying to install a BW 3.0B system 'BSB' using Linux/Oracle on 32-bit Intel hardware. The Linux is Suse Linux Enterprise Server 9 (SLES9). The Oracle is 9.2.
I was able to see the 1st SAP Installation GUI screen. The two fields on the screen appeared as follows:
Installation Host: localhost
Port: 21212
But when I clicked the 'OK' button, nothing happened. The screen and the two fields remained the same. The messages from the UNIX install session, on two attempts using root id, are attached. There is nothing in the sapinst.log file in the install directory /INSTBW30B/CI. My Linux Administrator thought the SAPinst listener is not working.
The SAPinst I used is version 1.0, from a SAP BW 3.0B Installation CD, published in 2002.

Thanks for the quick reply. The following are the whole story:
1. When I started, I followed the SAP "BW 3.0B Installation Guide on UNIX/Oracle" and SAP note 580772. After getting the error message "Floating point exception", I added the missing environment variable LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1 according SAP note 797084.
2. Then I tried again:

This time I got different error messages:

The error message FSL-02013 is confusing. Was it successful or not? It appears not. There is a keydb.xml in the installation directory /INSTBW30B/CI. But for unknown reason, sapinst couldn't copy it to create keydb.1.xml. Also, I'm not sure whether FSL-02013 caused FCO-00034, or the two messages are not related?
3. I looked into the "SAPinst Troubleshooting Guide v 1.20 5/27/2002", found a symptom on p.11, followed the solution part 1:

I got the same error messages as in Step 2.
4. I tried to fool the installer by doing manually:

6. Then I gave up on solution part 1 in the "SAPinst Troubleshooting Guide" and continued with solution part 2, which is to run the shell script startinstgui.sh. After having difficulty with port 21212, I posted the question in the SDN Forum on 10/19/2005.
According to your reply, startinstgui.sh is just running the GUI which isn't really the installation. So I still need to resolve the errors with sapinst, i.e. FSL-02013 and FCO-00034. Any suggestion?

I have been messing around with Mt Lion Server last day or so. Different than Lion Server, more refined, more sreamlined.
I got this same error message when trying to enable and setup NetRestore / NetInstall.
Looks like when one is using Wi-Fi as the network interface, you get this error. I suspected this.
Not sure if this is a bug or Apple wants people to use Ethernet only, if so why give a choice, probably a bug.
I have succefully used NetRestotre Lion server on a 2011 Mac Mini, worked perfectly. Then I remembered, I was using wired Ethernet, as I suspect most servers would use a wired network connection.
MT Lion Server NetRestore / NetInstall works if you use Ethernet, and turn off Wi-Fi. Ethernet will actually show up as a selectable option under Access > Settings > Enable NetInstall Setttings On.., and you click Edit, and can check enable Ethernet.
Once I did that the error went away. Then you get another message, if you do not have a NetRestore (in my case) image in the proper path, which you can set. I always like to do this away from the the boot volume, saves space, etc.
You have to manually copy the .nbi folder you created with System Image Util. It seems Apple could have gone the extra step and included that in the Server GUI.
No more Workgroup Manager, Server Admin, and the other dozen apps it tooks to admin server. Some are complaining. I for one like it very much. Always thought it was somewhat stupid and lazy of Apple to have that functionality across several apps. It was always un Apple like. It should be One App. I like what the Server app is now.
Managing users, groups, shares, services is so much better, and refined, consolidated. Makes so much more sense.
(Local User, Local Network User), you actually know clearly what type of user you are loooking at. WGM was IMHO a nightmare to navigate, it was schizophrenic (left over from NeXT I surmise).
And of course one can go to the CL for all sorts of deep things like dns, changeip, dscl, odutil, etc. It's all there.

Yes, I was getting error while installing GUI. these file are not registerd. But there no any specified procedure or certain order.These files should be there wdtfuncu.ocx,wdtlogu.ocx and wdtaocxu.ocx.

the sap gui from the NW2004s SneakPreview page is on patchlevel 8. The problem is when i use the latest sap gui from the service marketplace (full install!) i cant event call the gui. Getting a error when doubleclicking on the SAP Gui icon.

So actually since i installed the NW2004s on my local notebook the only sap gui "working" (at least i can call it) is the one from the NW2004s Sneakpreview page but im getting this error mentioned here on all systems! not only on the NW2004s system

Is there a maximum program size for the AWM GUI?

Is there a maximum program size for the AWM GUI?
I have a program that I migrated from Oracle Exress to Oracle 9i. The program runs fine, but I get buffer errors whenever I edit it with the Analytic Workspace Manager GUI. Only my longest program has this problem.
Has anyone seen this before? Is there a fix/workaround?

Errors with SAP GUI 7.10 issues with IE 7.0? and most curr patches?

We are attempting to patch our SAP GUI 7.0 with the most recent GUI patches
GUI patch 12
BW patch 500
BI patch 900
we are applying these patches to correct the following
>preview and printing of blank pages with web browser(ie 6.0)
>german lang. toolbar appearing
>missing active components when using analyzer (BW 3x)
>BI rspc error 'x dump'
these issues above have been corrected, however we are now having issues with this GUI and IE 7.0 , printing errors
As anyone had these same issues above, and could you recommend on what patch combination (if any) have corrected them
We have worked on this project for the last few months, to get the correct combination of patches that would not break anything else installed. But, now we are finding that we may have issues with IE 7,0 and the SAP GUI with the above patches.

Using the Netbeans GUI within a Project with existing Ant Script

I cannot seem to figure out how to use the Netbeans GUI in my Project with existing Ant Script. Is this possible? I have no problem creating GUI interfaces in a java Application, but attempting to make a new JFrame Form gives the error: package org.jdesktop.layout does not exist, and I have not been able to find a way around this. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

      I check all the software that I'm using and is for a 64bit system, is correct because our machine is PARISK 64 bit.
Right now I'm using the SAPinst: SAPINST7001_4-20002035.SAR, I see that exist other one new but I don't think that's can be a problem.

In the Graphic Tab and Work Center Error The Page Cannot be displayed

Hi In the Solar01 and also in the Solman_Workcenter I am getting error "The Page Cannot be displayed"
In the Solar01 - I have Business Processes save and under the Graphic Tab when I am clicking on the correct Business Scenario Node. I am expected Graph to display. But Showing error
In the Solman_Workcenter - I set up the added the Starndard Role Busing Solaman Basic Role and + implementation role. When i go under Solman_workcenter transaction I am getting the same prolbem i.e "The Page Cannot be displayed"
Any Idea friends.

Refer note 834832. Check activation of services in transaction SICF and the patch level of your SAP GUI.
