ESB console issue - defining tracking fields - minor.

when defining a tracking field, when you wish to insert a simple XML element into the expression builder by selecting it , don't drag and drop the element onto the edit area; instead, use the "Insert into Expression button". the expression generated by the drah and drop will not work
e.g.

when if you use the "Insert into expression" button then you get

the manual is actually correct [ E10295-01 Ch.3 ] but the reflex action is to drag and drop, and without knowing what it should look like it is easy to get it wrong.

Defining Key -field and data fields

Hi all
i have to define Key-Fields and data-Fields for a DSO(say DSO3).
DSO1 is a combination of DSO2 and DSO3..
DSO1 and DSO2 are SAP defined DSOs.
DSO3 is a User defined DSO.
my assumption:
   DSO3 has 30 fields
   DSO2 has 16 fields.
   can i create the DSO3 with remaining 14 fields which is there in DSO1?
   or i have to create the DSO3 with 30 fields(all DSO1 fields).
can any body explain....

The problem is not how many fields you create where, the issue is where is the data is going to come from.
Since you data is going from DSO3 to DSO1and if the field is already getting populated in DSO1 from DSO2, then you don't have to worry about populating those fields again, unless and otherwise you want to overwrite them.
Remember any fields exist in both DSO3 and DSO2 which overlapping will be overwritten by the latest update.
Again, going back to your question, you should consider does your datasource has missing fields (14 of them).

ESB Console Error while trying to install AIA FP 2.2

Hi all
I am installing AIA FP 2.2 and while installing I am getting the following error:
"Design time cache has not been initialized"
also
When I log into my esb console I am getting this error:
Designtime cache has not been initialized Please look in logs for following signs of failure. Fix them and restart. (a) Database access errors (b) ESB Bootstrap errors (c) OC4J class load errors (d) Product installation errors (e) Export ESB params and verify if host and port parameters are correct. Please contact Oracle Support if unable to fix the issue.
Any suggestions to solve this issue?????

Hi Senthil,
As mentioned in the message below, please examine the logs and see if you are getting any errors. Most likely your ESB engine initialization is failing while server bootup. If there is no error in the oc4j log, OPMN log and FP install log and the propblem persists, please contact your Oracle Support by logging an SR.

Unable to get the BPEL process in esb console

Hi,
I am facing an issue with code generated using artifact generator in FP 2.4.
When I deploy a Provider ABCS process(generated through artifcat generator), it does not appear in the BPEL system of my esb console because of which i am not able to create a routing service for that BPEL process in my ESB.
I am able to find only those bpel processes in the esb console which are not generated through artifact generator.
kindly suggest what can be done.

I assume there are no compilation errors and you are able to deloy the process successfully. Do you see any errors in the log file while deploying the process? You may want to check the $SOA_HOME/opmn/logs/default~oc4j_soa~xxx.log file.
Do you see the process in BPEL Console and able to unit-test it?

ESB Services nor Default System not showing up in ESB console

We are running SOA Suite 10.1.3.1 and the services within the ESB console are not showing up immediately after logging into the console. I have verified that the credentials
within the esb_paramater table are correct. We have also increased the amount of max cursors on the DB. Is there something else
that we can try to get those services up and running?

So you can ping and nslookup from your ms to these agents and vice versa right? I wouldn't do a manual install, I would push the agent from the management server. You can uninstall the agent manually, or use cleanmom to get rid of them. Then
do an install from the console. When you initiate the install from the console (management server), should it run into any issues it will dump out an error which will give you an idea of where the problem may be.

Requirement tracking field made mandatory in PR created thro MO

Hi Gurus,
In MO for externa services, when I try to enter the external service, I'm getting a pop-up screen for purchase requistion where requirement tracking field and the requistioner field are made mandatory. I have checked in the field selection for MO it hasn't been made mandatory. I have checked in MM field selection also, it hasn't been made mandatory. Kindly let me know if there are any settings to make these fields mandatory. Control key used in order is PM03.

Please re-confirm that you have checked ALL Field Selection Key used by your team (like create, change, NB document type etc....)
Once confirm for all field selection key used by you. Then as mentioned above check for those option.

Solaris 9, Solaris Management Console ISSUE
I have Solaris 9 installed and I am unable to use the Solaris Management console.
I have managed to start it:
/etc/init.d/init.wbem start
/etc/init.d/init.wbem status -> shows it's running
But if I try browser with the link http:// host:898, I have got the following error:
"A web version of the Solaris Management Console is not available at this time."
any Idea why?

Define sensitive fields for vendor master record

Wer are on SAP ECC 6.0 Customer wants to define sensitive fields for dual control. I have defined the bankaccount number as a sensitive field but I do not know how I need to define the other settings. Can anybody helpe me with that ? Where f.i do I define the persons who will confirm the changes ? n short which customzing steps do I need to follow to implment the sensitive fields for dual control.

You should not allow any user, whatever may be his or her position in the Organization with SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW profiles. It is totally against the Segregation of Duties and there is every possibility for making financial fradulent activities. Proper security approach is very much necessary in order give them the authorization on "NEED TO KNOW" Basis.
Regarding your question of sending mail, there is no functionality as such in Standard SAP. However, by taking help from ABAPer and schedule in the non-peak hours (night time) to generate mails for the approvals of today.
For your other question, which fields are to be kept Sensitive field, normally you can keep PAYMENT TERMS and PAYMENT METHODS as sensitive fields. You can also select other fields based on your business requirement.

ESB Console turns Request/Response message into One Way message

Hi folks,
have come across a strange situation and wondered if anyone else had come across this. Maybe it's fixed as part of a patch set.
I'm running SOA Suite 10.1.3.1.0 on Windows.
After I've created and deployed a Request/Response service (either RS or SOAP Invocation Service) if I go to the ESB Console and click on "Apply" in say the Definition tab, my service turns into a One Way service.
This then causes null pointer exceptions when I run my process, as you might expect.
If I redeploy from JDev and leave the "Apply" button alone I'm back in business.
Is this something that anyone else has had a problem with?

Define Additional Fields for Line Item Display

Dear gurus,
I'd like to ask for your help again, please. I've just added the field BKPF-USNAM to the list of fields of FBL1N using IMG:" Financial Accounting-> Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable->Vendor Accounts->Line Items-> Display Line Items->Define Additional Fields for Line Item Display". When I run the report the field is correctly displayed but if I save the current layout and set it into the selection screen, the column appears is blank. And if I open the change layout window and click OK the column gets filled.
Is there another transaction that I must set new columns to FBL1N.

Hii,
When you will execute FBL1N, it will come up in standard format. if you want to see any specific fields,then you have to go to Change Layout button and choose from available fields as per your requirement and then execute.
For future reference, you can save this layout as a Variant and then you can directly execute that report using that variant.
