ESS Family Screen - Issue validating Phone Number

I am having a problem with the Family contact screen and the validation on the phone number field. I am not the original developer that worked on this screen and do not have access to that person, but I think this issue is caused by SAP delivered code, and not anything we did here.
If I enter a phone number that has more than 7 digits (ex. 12345678), but I do not include a dash in the number, I correctly get an error that says , "Telephone number must consist of seven digits"
If I include a dash in the number (ex. 123-45678), that validation does not detect the error and I am allowed to proceed to the review screen, where the phone number is displayed exactly as I typed it in, but when it gets saved, the extra digits are truncated.
I'm willing to code my own validations on this field, but I don't know where to put the code. Can anyone please help?

Could you please mention ESS BP version that is been used? If it is, you can search for Note in SMP, if not found, raise one. This could be an issue with standard SAP code. However, as you mentioned the application been changed, review the changes been made as well.

T-mobile, has no idea why this is happening and has tried everything to fix it

This is for iMessages only, not for text messages as in SMS/MMS.
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Apple ID.
Select your Apple ID and at the menu window that appears, select Sign Out.
Turn iMessage off at Settings > Messages > iMessage.
Then follow these instructions.
You can remove an iPhone from your support profile by following these steps.
Step 1: Click on this link to open the login window of your support profile.
Step 2: Log into the website using your Apple ID – same as your iTunes login.
Step 3: Click on the button ‘Edit products’ and select the iPhone that you want to remove from the list.
Step 4: Click on the arrow behind the product, and then click on the button ‘Unregister’ to delete the iPhone from your support profile.
After you unregister your iPhone, on your iPhone go to Settings > Messages > iMessage and turn iMessage on.
Go to Settings < Messages > Send & Receive > Apple ID. Sign back in with your Apple ID.
This should re-register your iPhone with your Apple ID with iMessage with the new phone number only.

"Not a valid phone number" message....

I'm trying to set up my keychain, which I had to reset because I had misplaced/forgotten my code.
When it comes to entering my phone number to receive an sms for verification, the message "+xxx xxxxxxxx is not a valid phone number" comes up. When I enter a landline number, it accepts it - I cannot accept sms's via a landline. I live in Botswana. I have checked the Apple website and Botswana is listed as one of the countries with this service. I had used the number previously - before the reset - and it worked fine.
Why, now, does it give this message? Anyone out there with a solution?

There are other people that have had the same problem with this version I will look into it.

Not valid phone number or group list number

Ever since we switched from copper lines over to VOIP, when some people dial my number, they get the message that my number is "not a valid phone number or group list number". I can make calls from my number and other people can call me, but some people cannot. Has anyone else had this problem?

But after the message shown 'Invalid Phone number'
the message box not closed.
Therefore, I add a 'return false' after the alert statement. The message window is closed but from now on, no matter what I type even a good phone number, it gives me the 'Invalid Phone number'

Voicemail Issues after phone number change

I recently changed my phone number. I programmed the phone per the directions provided and I had to manually go in and update the speed dial for #1 so it would dial my new number. The issue is, if I receive a voicemail, I get the "Listen" link on the screen. If I click that link, it still dials my old number. I have looked through the owner's manual and through the online info on the site but have not found any way to fix this issue.
Can anyone help me figure this out??!?!!?

Okay, I'm at my wit's end: I cannot enter a second phone number in my apple ID accoutn: it keep teling me to enter a valid phone number and I am!! ***????

Really, what is the prblem? up un til now apple products have work without issue, now i can't get past this problem.

Where are you trying to enter phone number? what format are you using? Apple only want the numbers...

Phone number, not contact name, appears for new iMessage notification

I am currently in Israel and using an Israeli SIM card with my iPhone 5C. I have unlimited data so I was told I was able to use iMessage. I am having an issue when talking to just one person. When I receive the banner or lock screen notification that I have a new message from him it just displays the phone number (area code and seven digits, no 1 or +1 or anything). Then when I swipe or tap to view the message it automatically brings me to a new message screen "To" his phone number (also the phone number is showing up green even though it is an iPhone). When I cancel the new message and am then in my Message app and viewing all my conversations, the new message is there under his contact name that is saved in my phone... And messages are blue etc. in our conversation. His number is saved with a +1 in my contacts as I am abroad and the contact name was appearing in my Messages. When I removed the +1 from his contact the phone is not recognizing him in my messages and just shows up as the number. This is very very frustrating. Please help! Thank you.

Phone number not showing up in imessage and FaceTime on ipad or mac mini

I have the ipad, Iphone, and a mac mini. I am confused as to why my phone number is not showing up in imessage and facetime on my mac mini and ipad. I had it set up but for some reason it is not working now, it just shows my apple sign in email address. How can I fix this?

ICloud keychain: can't set up phone number

When setting up my keychain protection code i've chosen "generate random code", finished all steps and now option for setting up phone number in iCloud Keychain settings isn't available (not visible in iOS and disabled on Mac). If i change protection code any other ways (4-digit number or custom) then i can set up phone number.
So why is that happening - why i can't set up validation phone number when i use random-generated security code?

Turn off iMessage, Reset your iPhone (hold down the sleep and home button, ignore the red Off slider, wait for the Apple logo, let go of the buttons), turn iMessage back on and see if it now shows your number.
If you are using a non-supported cell provider you will have to try other remedies.

Apple developer application not accepting my phone number

what am i doing wrong? i have the country code in, and the area code then the phone number but its saying " please enter a valid phone number" i have checked it 3 times and i am entering the correct number... please help!

Maybe you have a plus in front of the country code? Delete it and it will work

Phone number length limitation???

I have a few international numbers that I use a calling card to call. On my RAZR and then Blackberry this I stored these numbers as:
877-736-7925,accnt#,pin,phone# or 877-736-7925,1233214567,1234,011861064703115
When I moved my contacts on to my iPhone it does not dial this number. No error message, no nothing, the number just flashes when I tap it. If I remove the final phone# it will dial but that defeats the purpose.
Any suggestions?

Never heard of that. I suspect it thinks that's an email address and you're seeing that screen b/c you don't have an email account setup on your iPhone.
Assuming the number is valid, try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

Can't change the phone number that appears on the front screen

My phone used to belong to my mom and I had it unlocked so I could use it overseas. However, her phone number still shows up on the front screen even though I've had 2 different sim cards in it, each with their own number. How do I change it to my current number?

When your mother used this BlackBerry did she use a SIM card or not?
This article KB01889 "My Number - Unknown" appears instead of the user's number on the BlackBerry smartphone" will show you possible causes the incorrect phone number doesn't appear on the BlackBerry.
