ESS MSS Time Management: scenario without clock times (start/end) possible?

Implementing (negative) SAP HCM Time management with the WD Leave Request application we found that the clock times are always shown, for instance when requesting leave, scrolling over the leave calendar and in the leave approver's webdynpro.
The problem is that we are actually not interested in the begin and end-TIMES (hour started and hour ended) of any leave, other than the start and end DAY and the total number of hours taken off.
Is there a system setting where we can 'hide' the time/hours-fields in the entire leave request application (without having to analyze every single webdynpro gui elements etc.)? Anyone having experience with this kind of requirement? What did you do?
Kind regards,
Pascal Rijnart

Given what you have to date this is one suggestion (more than 1 way to do this). I'm doing this from memory as I don't have system in front of me at the moment but should be spot on.
These steps are all sequential in SPRO under Time Evaluation > Without Clock Time > Time Data Processing
1). Create a new time type in V_T555A, call it ZOT1 - Overtime or whatever you like.
2). Define a Processing Type against your overtime attendance type V_554S_F - "P/T" Field, make it 09 for example
3). Next assign a processing type (the '09' you assigned to the attendance) and time type (ZOT1) in table T555Y
       - create a new entry in the table for your PSG & time type determination Group now using your P/T
       - Now in "PTyp 3" field which is used for assigning time types from IT2002 enter a Ptyp 3 of 'M' for overtime
       - In the "TTyp 3" field enter your new time type.
This will now generate a new time type and processing type TIP entry and leave your ordinary hours in tact.
Lastly you can define a rule in V_T510S for this particular time type to generate a overtime wage type.
There are other ways also, and maybe someone will post an alternative way - there is no 1 way only to do something in SAP.
Hope this helps
Cheers,
Brad

  • Time valuation with and without clock times --- Plzz help

    hi experts
Please help me by explaining the following.
    1) Please explain me the differnces between time valuation with
clock times(T555Z) and time evluation without clock time(T555Y).
    2) Please explain the differences in time types and processing types and functions procedure used  in time                evaluation with clock time and in time evaluation with out clock times.
    3) What is the major differences in the schema between time evaluation with clock times and with out clock   time?
Thanx in advance for help and Points will be rewarded in full.
    regards,

    WITH CLOCK TIME
It processes time data that has been imported to the SAP system from time recording subsystems and data that has been recorded online. Those time events (in/out timing) will be stored in 2011 which will be used in schema processing.
    Without clock time
to evaluate the time data of employees who enter only exceptions to the work schedule. Processing in this component assumes that times are expressed as the duration of work, and not the start and end times of work times and employee absences
Clock times are not required for evaluation of time data
T555y is used for processing work times  (function Types)
T555z is used for breaks processing in time schemas (function Types)
    2. NO difference in the way they are used
    3. Schema TM00 (clock times) is a standard schema, used to evaluate employee time data that has been recorded at time recording terminals and that specifies clock times.
Schema TM01 is a standard schema used to evaluate the time data of employees for whom only deviations from the work schedule are recorded.

  • Oracle +ve time management vs SAP -ve time management

    Hello Experts,
Currently our client is using oracle where if any employee works more than his planned time and any extra hours, it automatically shows the OT hours and upon his manager approval this will be included in payroll.
As ESS in scope with negative time management, what would be the best way to do this.
    Looking forward for your reply.
    Thanks in advance.
    Yusuffd

    Hi Yusuff,
No exactly like this. No need to enter any data manually. System can generate it.
In fact IT2007 has OT allowance role in this scenario and the whole data will be in IT2011(clock-as in/out), IT2002 (as an attendance) or IT2001 (as an Absence).
Based on manager approval system will break record of IT2007 into two separate record. One as approved overtime and second as unapproved overtime(or extra work).

  • Time management:scenario

    Hi all,
Here is a scenario relating to TM " Today is Nov 20 ,as per schedule Nov 21 supposed to be Working day for employees. But all of sudden Strike was declared on Nov 21 . Employees are to be paid for the same day eventhough it was strike "
How do handle this scenario?what customisation need to be done?. Kindly help..
    Thanks in advance
    Eliz

Yes, you can declare 21st Nov a holiday with the help of day types and special days.
Day Type 3 - Off/Special day which is standard
Now check which selection rule is used in your workschedule. For eg. Lets assume the selection rule in your workschedule is 01. Now, come to the Define special day node.
Define 01 in Rule, 21.11.2008(the date on which sudden holiday is declared), day type 3,
Now, generate your Workschedule. Check it0007, it wud show 3 where it will read as special day off.
    Hope this helps

  • Can I use Time Machine wirelessly without a Time Capsule?

I want to be able to fully utilize Time Machines capabilities (automatic wireless back ups when I'm connected to me home network in particular) without have to buy a Time Capsule. Is this possible and if so how set it up ?

If you want network backup with Time Machine, use as the destination either an Apple Time Capsule or an external hard drive connected to another Mac or a mini-tower (802.11ac) AirPort base station. Only the 802.11ac base station supports Time Machine, not any previous model.
Backing up to a third-party NAS with Time Machine is risky, and unacceptably risky if it's your only backup. This is an example of what can happen. If the NAS doesn't work, your only recourse is to the manufacturer (which will blame Apple.)

  • Getting time when online log switches; archiver start, ends

    Hi
    I am using "Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.2.0 - 64bit Production"
Is there a possibility to check the exact time
-when do online redo log switch
-when does Archiver start and finish his archiving online logs
I would like to tune archiver performance.
    Thanks for answers
    Groxy

In my current configuration I am getting a lot of "waits" (processes waiting form commit)
I would like to see if there is any relation of archiving process with "waits" in my application. Redo logs currently siwtch upto 6 times /hour. My ideas is to increase redo log size from 150MB to e.g 300MB and give archiver less priority, so there are no peaks, which consumes significant amount of disk I/O and the process of archiving will be spreaded.

  • Waht does time management status 0 without payroll integration mean

In our project, the client does not want to use time evaluation and so, we have set the time management status value as 0 (no time evaluation). Also, the client is not implementing (at least now) SAP-Payroll, as they are processing payroll through a different software. We have configured work schedules ( they need just 4 different work schedules) and assigned appropriate ork schedules to all employees in infotype 0007. We have also configured one absence quota (Earned Leave of 20 days per year).
My query is how will the system behave now with time management status value as 0? Can we process absence quotas? What is the use of work schedules, in this context, as any way the system does not evaluate employee time in Time Management. Neither the time wage types are evaluted in Payroll, as SAP Payroll is not implemented.
    -Shambhvi

My thanks to all of you. I would like to summarize the answer for my query:
Since time management status = 0, there won't be any time evaluation, which means attendance and absence data, even if entered won't be evaluated in Time Management. Since Payroll is not implemented, the question of time data getting evaluated in Payroll does not exist. However, absence quotas can be maintained, irrespective of the value of time managment status.
Please correct me, if my understanding is wrong

  • Time Evaluation (Time management)

    hi everyone......
i just want someone to explain me with some little examples the difference between time recording with clock time & without clock time, i really have some confusion in it, also if there is any useful document or link that can help i'll be glad.
    Regards;
    Mickey

    Hi,
Your Question # 1 - so if i want to just record the absences i shouldn't use time evaluation.
Yes, If you are recording only absences and not recording any attendances, its not required to go for Time Evaluation. You need to maintain the Time Management Status as '0' in IT0007
Question # 2 - if i want to record absences and the actual times of employee attendance just for reporting, without any payroll effect then i should use +ve (Time evaluation without payroll integration)
Answer for this question is YES. But, there is a possibility of using -ve Time Evaluation also for this scenario (this can be achieved by making few modifications to schema -ve time schema)
Question # 3 - if i want to do the same but with payroll effect, then i should use +ve (Time evaluation with actual times)
YES. (But as is said for the above point, there is a possibility of using -ve time evaluation as well, this depends on client requirement)
    Good Luck...!

    Hi All ,
we have to enable the SAP standard functionality of peformance management on ESS MSS on portal ,i need the kick start steps to enable this functionaly and if there are useful documents that i can follow, i would need to know the staeps to be carried from both the portal and ecc side...we have recently upgraded the portal to EP7 and ECC6 .

If you just activated your iPad and you are using it for the first time, you can plug in to the wall charger and use it while it is plugged in if you want to do so. Leave it plugged in overnight and let it charge all the way up to 100%.
If the battery has enough of a charge already just go ahead and use it as is then charge it all the way overnight.

  • Time Management effect of other sub-modules

    Hi All,
Can anyone please tell me how will be the functionlity of SAP HCM will be effected if we have implemented SAP HR without Time Management.
I want to know the adverse effect of not implementing TM.
    Regards

There are no adverse effects as such if time management not implemented.
    Time Management provides things like
    Absence Management
    Clock in& out
    Attendance Management
    Cross Application time sheets
    Personalized work schedules.

  • What are the major challenges for the end-user in using Positive Time Management

    Hi Seniors,
Can anybody please provide me some data on the same.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Positive time management is slightly difficult to implement compared to negative time management.
In negative time management, you use planned working times + deviations in time evaluation.
In positive time management, you record actual times through time recording system. You have to bring these times to SAP through an interface and then evaluate the actual times against the planned times and accordingly pay them out. You would need to pay attention regarding the integration between SAP R/3 and time recording system.
Building rules for positive time management is slightly more challenging compared to negative time management.
Kindly go through the below documents on positive time management which will give you more idea about the same.
Integration of Time Recording Terminals with SAP R/3
Determination of First Clock In & Last Clock Out in Positive Time Evaluation
Late Coming, Early Going and Unauthorized absence
Prorated Grant of Absence Quota for Contract Period in Time Evaluation
Splitting of Overtime Hours after X Hours in Time Evaluation
Rounding off Overtime Hours Generated via T510S table in Time Evaluation
Public Holiday Calendar and Work Schedule Rules
I hope these are helpful to you.

  • Time management status and Payroll

    Experts,
We are using TMS as 9 (Time evaluation of planned time) in IT0007. What does it mean in TM?
What is it's impact in Payroll.
    Regards
    Sk
    Edited by: s k on Nov 17, 2008 10:24 AM

You can assign the following Time Management statuses in the Planned Working Time infotype (0007):
Time evaluation with planned times (0): Employees with this status are not selected for time evaluation. They cannot therefore be processed in time evaluation. The employeeu2019s time wage types are determined in Payroll time data processing.
Time Management Status for processing time data in Time Evaluation and passing on time wage types formed there to Payroll
Time evaluation of actual times (1) and Time Evaluation PDC (2): Employees with these statuses have all their actual times, that is, all attendance and absence data, recorded*. It makes no difference whether attendance times are recorded at time recording terminals or in the Attendances infotype (2002).
Time evaluation with planned times (9): These employees have only the deviations from their work schedule recorded for them. The employeesu2019 planned working times from their personal work schedule are used as the basis for time evaluation.
Time Management Status for processing time data in Time Evaluation without passing on time wage types formed there to Payroll
Time evaluation without integration with Payroll (7): You use this status to run time evaluation to handle special time accounts u2013 to accrue absence quotas, for example. It makes no difference whether all of the employeesu2019 actual times are recorded or only the deviations from the work schedule.
The system stores the results of this time evaluation run in cluster B2, which enables you to run reports on the data, for example. The results are not passed on to Payroll. The time data processing part of Payroll treats the employees as if they had the time management status No time evaluation (0).
External services (8): Status for external employees. It makes no difference whether all of the employeesu2019 actual times are recorded or only the deviations from the work schedule. The results of time evaluation are transferred to Materials Management (MM-SRV), and are not passed on to

  • Time management status "0"and "7"

    Hi Team,
Kindly can you let me if we  can use Time management status "7" when there is no TE instead of "0"?
My client is using "7" as Time management status and they don't have TE.
    Regards,
    Vimal

    Hi Vimal,
The Time Management Status plays an importnat and effets as to how u want the time Process in ur company.
Time Management Staus 0 : No time Evaluation which means no PT60 or RPTIME00 all u have to do is run The Quotas with the report RPTQTA00 if any.
And Time Management 7 is Time Evaluation without Payroll integration. But u said that u dont have Time Evaluation then why 7? It should be 0 but the other possibilty to have Time Management Status 7 is you can use RPTIME00 with schema TQTA for generation of time quota and that is without time evaluation.
So its better to have TMSTA 7 as u can use RPTQTA00 and RPTIME00 with TQTA both for generation of time quota.

  • Negative time management to positive time management

    Hi Experts
our client is following negative time management now. They would
like to implement positive time management from now onwards.
please suggest how i'll do this for my client.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Firstly, your client has to decide how the entry exit timings of the employees are going to be captured, and then load them into SAP. The timevents will be updated in IT2011.
One way is to have a third party capture all the events from recording terminals located on the site, have a RFC to get these events to SAP. The time events can then be uploaded into the infotype table TEVEN (IT2011). These programs shud also be scheduled in the backgrnd to run either daily or after sum intervals of time.
    In config,
You will have to change the groupings of PS & EE for time recording,
Change the time management status for these employees,
change the feature TMSTA to default the same status for new employees to be hired.
Maintain IT0050 for all employees. (necessary for +ve time)
Change the grouping for Attendance / Absence types
Have to check whether system reactions for time pair formations in system are as per clients requirements
Modify the time mangement schema (with clock times) according to the requirement.
Schedule a background job so that time evaluation is run for all employees once a day. (usually scheduled during the night)
These are some of the changes that I can think about right now hope this is helpful.
    Regards,
    Shreyasi.
