Ethernet is connected but I can not get internet
I just moved into a new apartment and my internet connect is through an Ethernet cord. I can not reboot or restart the connection becuase it is through my entire building. When I plug the Ethernet into my MacBook Pro is says it is connected however when I open Safari or Chrome it has no connection. My IP address starts with 169 and my Mask is 255. I have restarted the computer many times and have gone through the "Assist Me.." or "Diagnostics" within Networks however each one requires that I reboot the router. Seeing that I dont even know where the router is, I can not do this action. Can someone please help with this? I have also reset PRAM and looked at other threads that say delete "com.apple.afl", however in my preferences there is no "com.apple.afl". The ethernet is currently working on an HP desktop and I have made sure the broadban connection has been set to "share with other devices". I feel Im running out of options. PLEASE HELP!

Click Apply. See whether the IP address changes.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Doublechecking, Jensen. What's the precise text of your error message, please? (There's a few different ones I can think of that you might be getting.)

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Would you please provide some more information about your current network so that we can help you? For example, is your AirPort Express the only router in your current network configuration? That is, is it connected directly to a broadband modem or to another router upstream of it? Regardless, what is the make & model of this modem?

Did you ever have cs2 installed on this particular computer before?
If the problem is that you already installed cs2, but it won't activate, that's because adobe took the activation servers offline for some older adobe products such as cs2.

You cannot use iCloud.com on a mobile device, only on a computer. Documents in iCloud are available via the apps themselves on a mobile device. -

I have the Sony Erickson Experia X10 phone with Android 2.6 running on it. My phone is listed in the compatible phones list, but I can not get it to locate the app, nor can I get it to download. There is no version 2.6 of Android. If you are using Android 1.6, then you will need to update your phone to Android 2.0 or later before you can install Firefox.
To check which version of Android you have, open the "Settings" app, then choose "About phone" and look for "Android version."
