Event-related data scrambling

When defining the scrambling rules, the rule type can be event-related.
Could anybody here give some example events, i.e. we can scrambling data for what events?

Hi David,
Event related rule could be applied for more than one field at a time. It applies at the record level and we can change the contents of a complete record using a single rule. As it does not involve any specific field, we cannot add parameters for an event related rule.
In case of event related rules enter the rule name and the step for each table. The u2018Stepu2019 defines the exact step in data transfer during which this rule should be applied. For scrambling it is usually EOR (end of record). Data transfer is carried out record by record within a loop.
EOR means that conversion takes place inside the loop at the end of every record. The Steps field has a F4 help which lists all the possible events. The following is the complete list

BOR u2013 Begin of Record

I did not find standard package TDSAD. However, I did find include CNV_MBT_TDSAD_ADDR_SCRAM1 which has the code example for an event-related rule.
Nonetheless, I do have a small concern. This rule was designed to be used by more than one table. Thus, there is a piece of code in the beginning which determines the object (table) that is currently being converted.

As you can see this has some selects in it, and I'm affraid these selects might be executed for each record of each table. So, in a performance point of view, this might not be so good...
Is there a reason why I shouldn't use one rule per table, and therefore disregard this piece of code?

From what I understood from the code, this is a code example if I assume I'm scrambling table ADRC:
ASSIGN ('_WA_R_ADRC') TO <g_wa_name>.

Will Apple improve their calendar to include relative date scheduling of events? Such as fourth Saturday, third Tuesday, etc. I previously had a Blackberry Pearl and could do this. Using the every month option schedules the event on the same date each month.

Neither supported the Newton. i still have my newton 120, BTW, gathering dust. Both had dedicated communities, and still do. Pimlico Software (www.pimlicosoftware.com) created a next generation calendar that is truly outstanding, even better that DateBk6, called Pimlical (Planner of the Apes). It is available for Windows and Android, and can be tweaked for Mac and Linux, but sadly, not for iPhone because it is written entirely in Java. I have the Windows version on a VMware Fusion virtual machine. And I'm a moderator for its Yahoo support forum.
DateBk was originally released as Week Calendar for the HP-100 handheld computer, the first practical PDA.

In iMovies, can I arrange the events in the Events Library in date order, e.g. 1994 - Sports Day; 1991 - John's christening; 1993 - Christmas?

If you import from a digital camera or camcorder, iMovie will automatically store your events in date order.
However, if you imported clips from an analog camcorder, like VHS or 8MM or Hi8, iMovie does not have any metadata to work with.
In this case, there are two ways to add back this metadata.
The simplest way is to right click on your Event clip and select Adjust Clip Date And Time. Do this for all clips in the event.
The other way is to name your clips before importing to imovie in this format:
clip-yyyy-mm-dd hh;mm;ss.ext
where hh is hours in 24 hour time, and ext is the current file extension. If you name your clips this way, and then import to iMovie through FILE/IMPORT MOVIE then the clips will sort into the proper year.

Training and Events Master Data Catalog

Good day,
The company I'm with currently wants to restructure their Training and Events Master Data Catalog, therefore existing catalog will no longer be applicable from the 01.11.2009 and the new structure to be effective the 01.12.2009. I want to know what is the best possilble way to tackle the "moving" of the old catalog?
Do we delimit the business event group and all its related activities, i.e. business event group, business event type and the actual business events via transaction S_AHR_61011887? Then change the view settings on PSV2?
Or can we move the old structure to a different plan version, if yes then how?
What kind of impact will this change make that I should be aware of?

Best approach would be to delimit and also mark these as "historical". You should not move them to another plan version.
If you are using Structural Authorizations you should also look at providing only display access for the "Old" a hierarchy.

ColdFusion Event Gateway - Data Processing Delay

Hi,
We are running ColdFusion 9 inside JBOSS.
We have event gateways that communicate with JMS Queue from JBOSS to acquire the vehicle related data for further processing (about 2 millions data per day in real time).
However, we facing performance degradation for the event gateways after it runs for 8hrs (initially data processing at 0 sec delay, subsequently built up to almost 10 mins delay) and it requires restart to resume back to normal speed.
Further checking on the servers show that the event gateways occupied all CPU processing power after running for few hrs.
May I know what is the issue and what can i do improve the performance. Your help shall be high appreciated.
Below the settings for event gateways.
Queue Size : 10000
Thread : 30
Server Spec
IBM x3650 series
RAM : 6GB
Processor : Dual Quad Core Processors 2.5GHZ

Extraction and loading of Training and Event Management data (0HR_PE_1)

I've got the following doubt:
before BI 7.0 release, extractor 0HR_PE_1 extracts event data (eventid, attendee id, calday,...) but if you load straight to cube 0PE_C01, as Calendar year/month needs a reference date (for example, event start date), you'll get total duration of event in hours or days refered to event star date.
So in a query filtered by month, you get total duration of an event that starts in the filtered month but it couldn`t end until few months later o year later, so you don´t get appropiate information.
Example:
Event calday Hours
10004377 20081120 500 but from event_attr event end date is 20090410.
In a query filtered by 200811 you get total duration time (500 hours when in 200811 event hours have been 20) or if you filter by any month of 2009 you don´t get information of duration of that event.
I had to create a copy of standar cube (without calday, only Calendar year/month, Calendar year in time dimension) and disaggrate data creating as many entries for an event as months lasts and adjust calculation of ratios duration of event (duration of event in each month/ total duration of event).
The question is: Is there any improvement or change on business content in BI 7.0 to treat Training and Event Management data? Has anybody had to deal with that?

Photos. They are on my macBook, backed up on time machine. Copied them (hours and hours) to external hard drive. They are now in alphabetical order (19,000 of them) NOT IN THEIR EVENTS or date order-and have been taken with different cameras- help!!!!!!

They are on my macBook, backed up on time machine. There are 19,000+ of them, some rescued from a pc crash- which I used the nifty iPhoto to put back into date order.
I want to take them all off my laptop, now............as I need to use it for WORK!!
Copied them (hours and hours) to another external hard drive.
They are now in alphabetical order (all 19,000+ of them) NOT IN THEIR EVENTS or date order. (-They have also been taken with different cameras over the years and some of the generic camera numbering remains.)
I have tried to copy them (only a few as an experiment) one event at a time, but that again "opens up" the Event "folder" and tips them out as individuals and therefore just lists image letters and numbers alphabetically.
How can I copy
the whole library still in "Events" to an external hard drive?
the folders/albums I have already made on to this hard drive?
and how can I add to this back up monthly, again keeping events and folders separate and updated?
Mac is so user friendly - there must be a way.........

UPDATE : I have re-installed from disk, various apps that were no longer functioning such as iLife, iWork etc. So, I now can access my photos again.
Also, I had to re-install all the software for my printer ( Stylus Pro 4880 ) and reset it so the printer is working again.
Photoshop CS4 won't open. I think I will have to get in touch with Adobe as basically, I guess they have a built-in "blocker" which prevents me from opening the app as the license is for only 1 user and having re-installed the OS, there are now, in effect, 2 users ( Me and Me 1, I think ).
So, having added on a new external HD, Time Machine has made a copy of most of the files, folders, apps etc onto the external HD. The internal HD is still nearly full ( 220 GBs out of 232 GBs ).
I am guessing the way to go now in order to free up space on the internal HD is to delete/trash older photos from my iPhoto library and hope that if needed, I will be able to access them on the external HD.
Am I correct ? Please advise before I do something I will regret.

How to generate XML from relational data : PL/SQL or Java

I'm new to Oracle XML and would appreciate some advice. I've been asked to generate XML documents from data stored in relational tables. The XML documents must be validated against a DTD. We will probably want to store the XML in the database.
I've seen a PL/SQL based approach as follows :
1.Mimic the structure of the DTD using SQL object types 2.Assign the relational data to the object type using PL/SQL as required
3.Use the SYS_XMLGEN package to render the required XML documents from the SQL objects
However, creating the object types seems to be quite time consuming (step 1 above) for anything other than the simplest of XML documents.
I've also seen that there is the Java based approach, namely :
1. Use the XML generator to build Java classes based on a DTD.
2. Use these classes to build the required XML
On the face of it, the Java based approach seems simpler. However, I'm not that familiar with Java.
Which is the best way to proceed ? Is the PL/SQL based approach worth pursuing or should I bite the bullet and brush up my Java ?
Is it possible to use a combination of PL/SQL and Java to populate the dtd generated java classes (step 2 of the Java approach) to reduce my learning curve ?

1) Now, in 9iR2, you can use SQL/XML as another choice.
2) You can also use XSU to generate the XML and use XSLT to transform it to a desired format instead of using object views if possible.
3) XDK provide Class generator support to populate XML data to Java classes.

Any way to disable "Use Relative Dates" everywhere in Finder?

Is there any way to make Use Relative Dates to NOT be on by default in Finder?
I just hate the yesterday, today, etc. crap. I want to just see the file dates. Period. I don't want to have to figure out what the date was yesterday to do a file date comparison.
Yes, you can turn it off but each time I check Use as defaults and open a new folder in finder, the relative dates are back! Argggh!

Yes its very easy, with finder open, finder bar at top see View, "drop down box" Show View Options, remove the check mark for use relative dates.

Standard IDOCS, Programs for posting FI & bank related data.

There is message type BANK_CREATE for posting the FI related Bank details. Using the change pointers you can trigger the idocs for posting the bank related data.

PA_CONTRACT_XSLFO: How to invoke a RTF-template with related data template

Dear Reader,
actually I want to extend the standard Document Type Layout for a Purchase Agreement Contract with additional data from approved supplier list (ASL).
Therefor I have created a RTF-template and a data template with the needed sql-statement. For testing I put this in a standalone concurrent programm and it works fine (result was a blue table with all data rows).
Next step for me was to invoke the RTF-template into the PA_CONTRACT_XSLFO template for extending the Document Type Layout for my Purchase Agreement Contract. So I put the neede invoke-statements
<xsl:import href="xdo://XXOC.XX_RTF_TEMPLATE.de.00/"/>
and
<xsl:call-template name="XX_RTF_TEMPLATE"/>
into the XSLFO-template. Also I extend the RTF-template with the define template statement
<?template:XX_RTF_TEMPLATE?>
So all seems to be fine.
As result I get the standard document for Purchase Agreement Contract with the additional blue table from RTF-template BUT WITHOUT DATA !
From my point of view there is no execution of the sql-statement in data template. But I dont know why.
Do Oracle support a combination of XSLFO-template with data template?

calls [RTF-template] with related [data template (with included sql-statement)]

IMHO you can not attach it to main. it'll be second independent report
you can try subtemplate but it's not about rtf from rtf by click
it's about call automatically rtf subtemplate from main rtf based on some conditions
for example, main template contain some data and if some condition is true then call subtemplate and place it instead of its condition
