Everything Is Blurry!

hi i know im only 15 but iam in an entertainment technology program studying Video production. I just bought Final Cut Studio with Final Cut Pro 7. I need some help, everything is blurry. Even when it says video not rendered in the canvas window it is extremely blurry. ONe thing dont understand is that if i change the zoom level in the canvas to about 50% where its so tiny i cant see it it looks very clear and not pixelated. Please help me...thanks

#2 Blurry Playback
Shane's Stock Answer #2: Blurry playback
ONLY JUDGE THE QUALITY OF YOUR MATERIAL ON AN EXTERNAL BROADCAST MONITOR, OR AT LEAST A TV.
The Canvas shows you what happens after the codec you are working with has been applied. The Viewer shows you the material in its native format. Once you drop the footage from the Viewer into the timeline, it inherits the attributes of the sequence. If it is a DV sequence, the footage will render out as DV.
1. Disable overlays on the Canvas.
2. Make sure you've rendered everything (no green bars at the top of the timeline).
Video playback requires large amounts of data and many computations. In order to maintain frame rate and be viewable at a normal size, only about one-fourth of the DV data is used in displaying the movie to the screen. However, the DV footage is still at full quality, and is best viewed thru a TV or broadcast monitor routed thru your camera or deck.

  • Multiple Rotate3d filters makes everything looks blurry

Hi I have a Flex 4 project that uses two rotate filters.
Once it to rotate the main container and the other to rotate an internal element.
The issue is that when applied simultaneously text, and everything looks blurry.
If I add a delay time to one of the effects so they are not applied simultaneously then the blurry effect seems to be fixed.
The thing is that I would like not to be aware if there is a rotation effect in a parent container or something like that, just want to apply the effect and that it work as intended.
Any suggestion or good practice to slove this?
    Thanks in advanced

  • Xorg.conf can't set resolution right everything is blurry

i just switched from CRT to LCD and it looks really bad.
    DELL 1907FP
I've set xorg.conf according to the monitor specifications
resolution is set to monitor's native resolution and the display size is set
to the one specified in the monitor manual.
    http://www.vladuz976.com/aboutdell.html
    this is my xorg.conf
    http://www.rafb.net/paste/results/NWpuq274.html
The fonts in all windows and the resolution look really bad. everything seems to be a bit blurry in general.
Did i set something wrong in xorg.conf?
    what should the DPI be?
    vladuz@box:/etc/X11$ xdpyinfo | grep resolution
    resolution: 85x86 dots per inch

the picture looks a little better now. I set the vertical range from a range to a
specific value (75.0), looks better now.
    but i get
xdpyinfo | grep resolution gives 85x86 dots per inch
    isn't that a little low for a 19" 1280x1024 with display size of 380mm 300mm?

  • Display acting up - desktop shifting, everything is blurry

    my display is acting up
I just rebooted my 15" mbp (2ghz intel core duo, 1.6 gb ram) and suddenly large areas on screen (but not everything) is slightly blurry. I am running osx 10.4.10 at 1440x900px resolution. I already rebooted and the problem, which only showed up after rebooting, is persisting. my desktop background also keeps shifting a couple pixels up, down, left or right every few seconds.
anyone know what happened? how do I fix this?

unreal... you were completely right. never even knew about that option.
    thank you

  • SOLVED Blurry/Ghosting LCD with Nvidia-96xx

    Hi all,
I've spent hours trying to figure this out...  I installed the Nvidia-96xx driver for my Geforce2 MX/MX 400 and everything seems ok in my xorg.conf.  XFCE comes up with the right resolution (1280x1024 Dell 1702fp), but everything is blurry.  When i use the Nvidia X Server Settings application, it looks like everything is running correctly - 1280x1024 @ 60hz.  But this doesn't seem right, because otherwise everything wouldn't look so blurry.  And I do mean everything - fonts, icons, etc.
So I did a bunch of reading and decided to try xrandr.  Well, that seems like a fairly cool command, but it didn't really solve my problem.  However, it did confirm my suspicions that one of these programs is giving me the wrong information, since the only 1280x1024 resolution it gives me is at a 50* 51 refresh rate.  I tried changing the rate with:
    xrandr -r 60
It wouldn't let me do it.  It says:
"Rate not available for this size"
I'm really kind of puzzled about this, I've tried three different ways of generating xorg.conf files (Xorg -configure, xorgconfig, nvidia-xconfig) and they all give me the right resolution, but the wrong refresh rate.  For some reason linux wants to run things at 50hz...
I'd post more information up here, but I'm not sure what you would want to see.  I'm pretty sure it's not the xorg.conf...
    Hope you guys can help.

    Thanks for the reply, berbae.
I've been trying different things with the xorg.conf file, but nothing I do seems to help.  I tried adding in some of the things you had in yours, like the EDID option and now my xorg.conf looks like this:

Apart from the warnings "No modes were requested ..." and "option "UseEDIDfreqs=false" is not used" nothing looks that bad to me.  Any ideas?  This is what I see in xfce:

I also tried using the gtf output a few times and that didn't work either.  I'm starting to wonder if it's a hardware problem.  Seems kind of subtle for a malfunctioning graphics card though, doesn't it?
    Thanks again

  • External Display Blurry when Mirrored

I have a 20" viewsonic VX2035 that is hooked up to my gaming rig. If I use it with my MBP and choose the mirror displays setting, when the Viewsonic is at its proper resolution (1680x1050) everything looks blurry. When at its correct resolution and not mirrored it looks normal. And it looks normal but slightly distorted if mirrored and at the 1440x900.
    Any ideas?

I've found exactly the same thing.
In "mirror mode", the external display (for me a 23" cinemadisplay HD) uses the macbookpro's internal screen's resolution (though it does uprez it), even though on screen preferences it may be set much higher (1920x1200 on mine). Hence the fuzziness.
In "dual display" mode, and in lid-closed mode (where the external display is the only one on), it works perfectly.
Not sure why this is. If anyone has a fix, please post.
(this on a January 08 macbook pro and cinemadisplay)

  • Font, Video, and Images Blurry

When I preview or even work on my project everything is blurry but when its just the picture or video is its very clear. Do I have something wrong with the size? What should I do? I just want to make a dvd of a local theater production for the cast to have. So it have images, video, music and fonts. Thanks

Whenever you add non-DV images to your video project (titles, graphics, photos) or you add effects to your clips, you will need to render this segment in order to see it at full, final quality. (This is indicated by a red line above your clips on your project timeline.)
To render your clips, press Enter. When the program finishes processing your render, the red line will turn green and you will see your video at a quality more representative of your final output.

  • Fcp - color - fcp ALL BLURRY in PAL Anamorphic - any ideas?

ok, so admittedly i'm not working on my normal system but i've been using color (and final touch before that) for a while on a number of small and large fcp projects (dv, hdv, prores) and now i'm working on a small tv show for austrian broadcasting.
naturally the project is in pal and it is in standard pal anamorphic.
when i send to color everything looks ok, my viewer is squeezed (there is no pal anamorphic setting for color it seems, just regular pal 4x3) but checking the geometry it all looks good so i wasn't concerned.
i do a correct on a 2-minute section to test everything and it all looks good in color.
i render everything out and send it back to fcp and lo and behold EVERYTHING is BLURRY.
as if a defocus filter has been applied.
i've tried a bunch of different settings, i've removed grades, de-interlace, everything and it still comes back blurry.
    any ideas?
    thanks,
    nick.

    FCP issue?
Check the rendered clips OUTSIDE of FCP, ie in Quicktime. There may be a scaling/RTE/proxy thing happening if there is not an exact match between the rendered material and the way FCP wants to handle it. Check Audio/Video settings. The anamorphic nature may be throwing a curve.

  • Blurry images final cut pro

Hi. I am trying to do a little film out of some still images I shot recently. However, after importing these images into final cut they all look blurry. When I am doing the same in imovie, I get a good result. What is the problem? How can I fix it?
    Thanks
    Stephan

I just dragged some photos in the timeline (HD 30fps), and they always look blurry afterwards, even after the rendering. The images are high quality dslr images (file size between 4 to 6 MB). When I am doing the same in imovie, go to full screen it all looks ok, in final cut everything is blurry. I did not creat a final output yet, because I thought why should I waste time, if it looks that bad already from the beginning

  • Photoshop Elements 12 blurry on MBP Retina Display

I downloaded Photoshop elements 12 on my new macbook pro with retina display and EVERYTHING is blurry. Elements is currently updated completely. Is retina display still not supported?

Hi Barbara I´ve done what you suggested and I´m having the same problem. Its freezed. Is there any way I can download the update? I´m
stuck with a Photoshop that doesnt work. Adobe says that they cant help without a serial number and apple doesnt let me update. This is the most bizarre I have lived in terms of software.

  • Movie width expands when viewed in QT7, blurry

    Hi Guys!
New to the forum and to iMovie, although lost in both for DAYS. Just got iMovie 4 to edit clips from client's dvd for use in Powerpoint and Web movies (not making movies from camera or for TV viewing). Everything is blurry in iMovie--clips (pulled from VOB with MPEGstreamclip), iMovie-generated titles, even photos from photoshop (regardless of orig resolution). Whatever export format or program my edited clips are view in, the ratchet effects remain.
Plus, even though when previewed in iMovie the height/width ratio is correct (albeit blurry), when viewed in Quicktime (7) or exported, the movie stretches widthwise, further enhancing the funhouse mirror effect.
I'm hope this stuff is elementary to you all--cause my head is about to fall off. Can anyone offer some wisdom?

IMovie display is just a preview -- it is not full quality display.
The same applies also to QT Player -- by default it shows a low-resolution deinterlaced image. You have to turn on high quality via the display options. ...And doing so may reveal those interlacing comb lines that are normal but look ugly on a computer monitor.
Always judge the quality via a TV monitor. A computer monitor can just imitate the correct interlacing, overscan or gamma.
The .dv clip is PAL 720x576 or NTSC 720x480. It uses rectangular pixels so by default the aspect ratio is wrong when viewed via the QT Player. iMovie automatically scales the image to (approximately) the correct ratio.
You can scale it to square pixel ratio in QT Player. With PAL you must scale to 788x576. With NTSC scale to 656x480. Often this is then cropped to PAL 768x576 or NTSC 640x480.

  • Printing Blurriness? (Not DPI related)

I'm a long time illustrator user but I mostly use it for web based comic strips and not formal printing things. However my teacher friend asked me to help her with her wedding invitations because she has no money for someone else to help her. We worked for a few week to design something that she liked but now when she tries to print them everything is blurry. I've tried everything I can think of but my lack of experience in print related work has caused me to be stumped. I've made sure the image is being print in 300dpi. I've made sure the printer is set to print best quality and to print borderless, which is how I *think* I designed the image. I've attached the AI file and the finished file that I'm printing in a zip below. If someone could PLEASE help me out you'd be doing us a tremondous favor. She procrastinated this so long that she's almost out of time.
    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Q0E5ZWKI
(PS - The file I attached is the Menu. All the other items I designed are in the exact same format and having the same issues. She needed to have two per 8.5X11 page. I'd also take itips on how to best set this up. As I mentioned, Ive never worked with print before.)
    Thank you.
    -D

    D,
You should print the AI document using a PostScript printer (driver (emulation)), or Save a Copy as PDF and print from that on (just about) any printer.
    And enjoy.

  • Recent Update Changed Everything

I downloaded the recent update this morning (I believe it said for Photoshop and Camera RAW). After the update I opened Bridge and a lot of thing I noticed were different.
All of the work that I had done previously was gone--Files were not missing but all of the work of culling photos (starring the ones that needed to be edited) wasn't there.
I am no longer able to zoom in with my cursor and have it look clear, everything is blurry/pixelated.
Also, the color is drastically different (very dark). Everything was perfect yesterday until the update that I did this morning.

Tell us about your configuration please: MAC or WINDOWS, which OS version?
