  • How to assign a system to a solution for EWA in SAP Solution Manager 7.1 Solman 7.1

    Hello Dear experts,
I am trying to create and generate an EWA Early Watch report, I am configuring a Solution Manager 7.1 since scratch and now I am in the Managed System configuration - Early Watch Alert Management.
I know that in order to get the report the system have to appear in the systems and it has to be assigned to a solution but there is not appearing..
Maybe there is some step that I missed and I have to configure but I don't know which one.
Below you can find screenshot of my issue.
    I appreciate your help,
    Thank You
    Javier Tenorio

    Hi Javier,
Please follow the below steps to create solution and assigned to systems.
First assigned the logical system properly.
Execute transaction "SOLMAN_WORKCENTER", click on the tab "Solution Manager Administration", and click on "Solutions" on the left of the screen. In the "Solutions" tab, click on the "New" button to create a new solution.
A window will show up. Enter a name for the solution and select a language and click on "Save Solution"
assigned the system to solution which you have created.
Hope this will solve your problem.

    Hi,
As far as we could see, you're facing an authorization issue. To solve
    that...
Can you check that the user executing the task (SOLMAN, i suppose) is
assigned the authorization - you can run an authorization trace using
transaction ST01 (check only the authorization box) and reproduce the
issue. The resulting trace should show which authorization failed. Once
this is established the necessary authority can be assigned to the user.
    Thanks,

There is no "message inbox" in satellite systems, but you can use the SAP Solution Manager to have a central access to all reported messages.
Configure Work Center "Incident Management" in SAP Solution Manager and grant access for message reporters.
See answers to similar question in accessing the service desk message from satellite system

  • Prblem Service Desk configuration in Solution Manager 4.0

    Hi All,
Here I have done the configuration of Service Desk in Solution Manager 4.0 by using the document which I have for release 3.2. However I have face some problem in Step “Initially create and Assign the Satellite Systems as iBase C” and “Manually create and Assign the Satellite Systems as iBase Co” .So I exclude above mention step. But still I am able to create the support message from Satellite Systems.
So can please let me know whether it will work fine in upcoming time or Do I need to test my Service Desk configuration for same.
Moreover please let me know how to test Service Desk configuration for real time environment.
Following are the step and problem which I face while doing the Service desk configuration.
<b>STEP 1 #Initially Create and Assign the Satellite Systems as iBase C</b>
To be able to use the Service Desk and Change Request scenarios in SAP Solution Manager, you need to define the Installed Base (iBase). An iBase component has to be created for each satellite system from which Service Desk messages will be sent to the SAP Solution Manager system.
The iBase components for the iBase structure SOL_MAN_DATA_REP (installation 1) can be created and assigned either automatically or manually. Note that these components and the assignments can only be created once automatically for every solution.  To refresh your existing iBase data execute IMG activity Manually Create and Assign the Satellite Systems as iBase Components.
    Requirements:-
You have defined your system landscape in the Solution Manager System Landscapes(transaction SMSY).
    Activities:-
    1. In transaction SOLUTION_MANAGER,  open a solution.
    2. Choose Operations -> Service Desk.
    3. Choose Edit -> Initial Data Transfer for iBase.
The data is copied automatically. The iBase systems for the solution are automatically assigned to SOL_MAN_DATA_REP (installation "1"). An iBase component is created for each system installation number (which can be displayed by choosing System  ->  Status).
For each solution repeat these steps.
<b>Problem in STEP1 :-</b> I am not able to check the System &#61664; Status.
<b>STEP 2 #Manually Create and Assign the Satellite Systems as iBase Co</b>
In this IMG activity, you define the Installed Base (iBase) manually, i.e. for refreshing existing iBases after solutions have been changed.
An iBase component has to be created for each satellite system from which Service Desk messages will be sent to the SAP Solution Manager system.
    Activities:-
    1. In transaction Change Installed Base (IB52), use the input help (F4) to find the Installed Base with external ID SOL_MAN_DATA_REP.
    2. Continue as follows:
    •     If SOL_MAN_DATA_REP does not exist:
    a) Call transaction Create Installed Base (IB51).
    b) Choose iBase Category 01 (Installed Base).
    c) Choose Enter.
    d) Specify the iBase header data in the iBase section.
    e) Specify the external ID SOL_MAN_DATA_REP and enter a short description.
    •     If SOL_MAN_DATA_REP exists:
    a) Choose iBase No. 1 (SOL_MAN_DATA_REP).
    b) Choose the SAP WEB AS component.
    3. To assign the systems as iBase components, go to the Text item tab.
Three components are included in the standard package.
    4. Add all the satellite systems as text items to the table:
o     Column Short text: Description of the system
o     Column Identification: System ID, space, installation number
    5. Save.
After changes have been made to a solution, repeat these steps to update system landscape data for iBase.
    Note:-
Every system is only listed once in the iBases. That means a system is not listed in an iBase if it has been listed in another iBase before.
<b>Problem in STEP2:-</b> Here I am not able to find Text item tab as per point 3 .
    <b>STEP 3 # Assign Business Partners to iBase Components</b>
You need to assign business partners to the new iBase components.
    Activities:-
    1. In transaction Change iBase (IB52), choose Goto -> Partner
    2. Assign business partners with the following functions to the new iBase component systems:
    o     Administrator
    o     Key User
    o     Sold-to Party
    3. Save.
    4. Repeat these steps for each iBase component.
<b>Problem in step3 :-</b> In IB52 t-code screen there no any menu path like goto &#61664; partner
    Thanks a lot,
    Harshal

    Hi Harshall,
You have to enter the value as 1 in Installed base field and then press enter.
You will be taken inside and then you will be able to see the Goto - Partner screen.
    Hope this will help.
    Please reward points suitably.
    Regards,
    Naresh.

  • Problem in Application Help Configuration in Solution Manager

    Hi Experts,
Here I facing one problem during Application Help configuration..
When I am going through application help for Solman Configuration it's taking me to standard erp help..
Where as in SR13, under PlainHtmlHttp,
In path tab I had given <b>saphelp_sm40/helpdata</b> for solution manager document.
But for other standard t-code it's giving actual application help.
where for SMSY,SOLAR01 etc i am not getting the application help.
    Looking for advices.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sumanta Chatterjee

    Dear Sumanta,
This depends on how you want to (or how you can) use this http://help.
    sap.com site.
At first you must be aware of the different areas on this site, these
areas have different URL structures, for example:
    - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2004 <<< for mySAP ERP
    - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200  <<< for R3 Enterprise
    - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04    <<< for SAP NetWeaver 04
    - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm32    <<< for SAP Solution Manager 3.2
The main problem is that in the area "http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm32"
there is only online documentation for the Solution Manager
    functionality.
Can you please check the table SBAON_CCHK with transaction SE16.
    The following record must exist:
    MANDT COMPONENT                NAME_EN
    xxx   ST                       Solar Help
If this record does not exist, please create this record manually.
This should help resolve the issue.
    Regards

  • System monitoring configuration in solution manager EHP1

    Hi all
I am in a bit of fix
We have upgraded our solution manager devlopment to EHP1
Now I have added one system through SMSY in solution manager to configure system monitoring
I have generated all the RFC's,I have created the logical component and solution and assigned the system to the solution
When I check my solution it is looking fine
Now when I go within solution and click on the tab system monitoring
It shows me on the left hand side -> Set up system monitoring
when I click on Set up system monitoring on the left part of SAP screen, strangely it doesnt take me to the activation of screen monitoring,it just shows me the best practices documents on the right side but nothing more than that
I have checked many guides, blogs and SAP tutors anfd have followed them but strangely I am not been able to go to the screen for activating system monitoring
Are there any activities that need to be done after upgrading to EHP1?
Are there any services to be activated for system monitoring?
    Please advice
    Rohit

I'm not 100% sure that it is necessary, but it won't hurt.
Perhaps the essential adjustment you need for system monitoring is being done in there.
    It won't hurt

  • Post-Installation and Configuration of Solution Manager 7.1

    Dear community,
we are a SAP Channel Partner and want to offer SAP BO support; therefore I am about to set up the Solution Manager 7.1 on a Windows 2008 R2 host with Oracle Database 11g. The installation has been completed successfully and I have applied our permanent license, but performing the following post-installation steps some problems and questions have arised. Because I don't want to write a novel right here, let's begin with the first issue:
Updating the Solman, as suggested in post-installation.
I want to update my ISS to SP 04 and followed the common instructions using ESPIN and SPAM (see, for example, this thread: ).
That means, all packages have been loaded from ESPIN into SPAM. The problem is, that I have SPAM version 0039, but I get error message "you need at least version 0040" when I try to start the update queue. Also, I am not able to download a newer version of SPAM from SMP (702-0043 and 702-0045 are available there), because I need MOPZ for that (a message comes up telling me that items in my download basket have to be confirmed before I am allowed to download them), which will be available not before basic configuration during solman_setup later on.
So, what to do? Is there another way to get that 5MB SPAM update or do I have to go on with the old version?
    Thanks in advance
    Sönke
Edited by: Sönke Schnurr on Dec 29, 2011 4:15 PM (small addendum)

Okay, I am just re-installing my Solution Manager 7.1, because I couldn't solve my SPAM problem (linked thread in my next-to-last post).
I would like to configure the whole SAProuter SNC thing now. The Solution Manager host is the same which has the SAProuter installed. I have already registered and certified it and created the Windows Service which starts the SAProuter (saprouter -r -S 3299 -G routerlog -K u201Cp:CN=XXX, OU=YYY, OU=SAProuter, O=SAP, C=DEu201C), XXX and YYY being the appropriate values.
Now I want to create my saprouttable. A beta version is this one here, based on some tutorials in the internet:
    KT "p:CN=sapserv2, OU=SAProuter, O=SAP, C=DE" 194.39.131.34 3299
    KP "p:CN=sapserv2, OU=SAProuter, O=SAP, C=DE"  3200
    1. deny all other connections
    D * * *
Do you think it's alright? I'm connecting via host port 3299, so the first two lines should be alright, shouldn't they?.
The fourth line P ? The local IP address of my host? What is that line for at all?
Another question: The connection to OSS doesn't work yet, probably because of our local hardware router firewall. Which ports do I have to forward? I suppose it is just 3299?
An elaborate answer would be highly appreciated!

    Sönke

  • CHARM configuration in SOLUTION MANAGER 4.0

    Hi All,
Please help me to get the detailed documentation on configuring Change Request Management in SAP Solution Manager 4.0.
    Thanks,
    Sateesh

I have a question regarding the organization of Solutions in Solution Manager.
First, I have 3 solution manager boxes
    1 Sandbox
    2 Dev
    3 Prod
In sandbox, I have a sandbox 'solution' that contains all sandboxes
In dev, I have no 'solution'
In production, I have all dev through production boxes lumped into one 'solution'.
I was thinking that maybe I should break up the solution in Production to have only prod boxes, and then build one in dev that contains dev and qa boxes.
My question is that when I configure CHARM to manager transports, will that work to separate DEV/QA from Prod OR will I need all the dev, qa, prod boxes in one 'solution' since that is how transports flow??

  • RFC at customer for EWA into our Solution Manager

    Hi,
I have created a BACK RFC in a customer system to get EarlyWatch reports sent into our Solution Manager. There is no direct connection between the 2 systems, so I'm connecting via their SAPRouter and our SAPRouter.
In the customer system in SM59 I've set up :-
RFC SM_<SID>CLNT100_BACK where <SID> is our SolMan
    Routestring i.e. Target Host.- /H/<customer_internal_SAPRouter_IP/S/sapdp99/H/VAR_external_SAPRouter_IP/S/sapdp99/H/VAR_internal_Solman_IP/S/sapgw00
    Gateway Host - VAR_internal_Solman_IP
    Gateway service - sapgw00
Question 1 - Does RFC and routestring look correct?
I've also modifed saprouttab on the customer side with the entry :-
    P ... VAR_external_SAPRouter_IP 3299
And on our side with the entry :-
    P * * 3300
Question 2 - Do both saprouttab entries look correct?
I've also asked for our external firewall to allow traffic from the customer IP to get to our SAPRouter server.
Also for the customer firewall to allow traffic to our external SAPRouter IP
Question 3 - Have I missed anything on these 2 firewalls?
Question 4 - After the traffic reaches our SAPRouter server, are any changes to our internal firewall required for it to get to our Solution Manager system?
Any help is much appreciated - at the moment when we test the RFC on the customer system we can see traffic from the customer reaching our SAPRouter server, but then get an error in dev_rfc0 :-
    Error RFCIO_ERROR_SYSERROR in abrfcpic.c : 2803
    CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPOCMINIT' : cmRc=17 thRc=223
CPIC program connection ended (read error)
    dev_rd shows :-
    ERROR => NiBufIProcMsg: hdl 52 received rc=-93 (NIEROUT_INTERN) from peer [nibuf.cpp    2125]
    Thanks,
    Richard Shaw

    Hi Anil,
    Thanks a lot.
SAP provides the EWA report for all its clients production system without a Solution Manager system & not provide the sam for non productive system. That means to say that for quality & developement system SAP does not provide a EWA report without a SOLMAn. For this system you must required SOLMAN to generate the report.
    Kind Regards,
    Jitu

  • Alert Mail configuration in Solution Manager 7.1 for Portal Runtime errors

    Dear Friends,
We have EP7.01 SP5  installed on windows environment with Oracle DB. Also we have  SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0.
Please help to provide steps to configure
    proactive mail alert configuration ,
    GRMG for High availability
    Any portal runtime errors
for PORTAL services in Solution Manager.
    Regards,
    Venkat.

    Hello Venkat,
You will have to include the Portal system in the Central System administration of your Solution Manager.
As the EP system will be monitored by a sapccmsr running with -j2ee option this one can be configured separately. The agent will be started using the monitoring segment of the J2EE instance and therefore can be started more than once.
Here you should also use the latest sapccmsr agents.
The following link provides details on the required agents:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/ca/118110ff542640b7c86b570cc61ae3/frameset.htm
    Please refer the below notes.
214247     RZ20: Questions on configuration of monitoring data
704349     Activating the CCMS monitoring for TREX 6.1 (NW2004
Note the EP system can only be monitored by using the SAPCCMSR agents. and then by implement a central autoreaction method you can generate e-mails from CCMS.
Automatic emails will get generated when certain thresholds are met. You must configure the thresholds from the central monitoring system for the nodes that you want email to be generated.
Please follow the steps in the note to configure central auto reaction.
429265 CCMS monitor architecture: Central auto-reaction
In the central monitoring system ( Solution Manager in your case ), Goto RZ20, choose the monitor for the nodes that you are monitoring. Select the node, click properties, & check the threshold values.
Also refer to the following notes:
547024 - Transfer the EP 5.0 Monitoring-Data to SAP CCMS

Also, check the following link that has information on portal monitoring  :

I guess this is a whole lot of information to assimilate and will be helpful to you to setup what you intend to.

  • Change Management u0096 Central Configuration u0096 Solution Manager 4

I am working in Change Management for solution manmager 4. I have configured maintenance project.
But I can not see ‘Project Cycle’ tab in ‘System landscape’ table of project maintenance transaction code – SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN.
    SM 4 patch level is  - ST     400     0008.
Also I would like to know where should I configure TMS for satellite systems? (e.g. ECC system DR0-100 client?). In ECC system or in SM 4 system?
    Please suggest.
    Regards,
    Darshan

    Hi Darshan,
you have to configure the TMS in the satellite system (Domain Controler). It is described in the IMG -> Solution Manager ->..-> scenario. spec. Settings -> change request management -> standard settings -> TMS.
E.g. you have to establish inter domain links, client spec. transport routs (CTC=1), you have to set CTS-Project IDs mandatory for all used clients..., everything described in the IMG.
    Regads,
    Udo
