Exceptions in Activity Sequence

What are those errors? What do they mean? How to trace them?
I have uncought errors handler but do not catch any during runtime.

The Activity Sequence panel shows you all exceptions - not just uncaught ones.
It sounds in this case like you're handling the exceptions already - either in your code, or in whatever frameworks/libraries you're using. This is completely normal, e.g. for I/O operations.

  • Failover, SO activation sequence and Log

    Hi
    Wud u please clarify my following doubts :-
    1. Failover
    If a partition carries 3 failover service objects-. A, B & C - and if service object A fails, I
    believe that the whole partition in replicated and reinstantiated. If so what happens to the
    non-failed objects in old partition and the newly created clones of those objects in new partition?
    Which one wud be used while referenced ?
    My unerstanding is that it manages failover by partition than by objects so that failed partiton is
    activated on some other assigned nodes.
    2. Service object activation sequence
    How the activation sequence of service objects are determined ? I have a strange problem. One of my
    service object (in its init method) try invoking a method on another service object; but gives
    "Attempt to invoke a method on a NIL object" exception. I inserted a loop above this line as
    DO WHILE thisSO = NIL THEN
    END DO;
    flag = thisSO.GetStatus();
    Still the exception occurs. The called service object reads from a flat file to populate its data
    members. Can I change the activation sequence of service objects ? Both the service objects, talked
    about here, belongs to same partition and are of USER visibility type.
    3. Partition Log
    The partition log generated overwrites the existing file if I specify a file name name using -fl
    flag at command line. Is there anyway that I can make it to append to existing log ?

    Hello,
    This issue is resolved now.
    The problem was with the file system space on the Unix server(on which portal is installed).
    The server administrators and the Basis team extended the disk space and issue got resolved.
    Thanks for all your inputs.

  • Just FYI: SAP Determines Activation Sequence by the following...

    The Activation Sequence of objects in transports is determined by the sequence of the Values Stored in the Data Dictionary Domain Object "RSTLOGO".

    Thanks for sharing. I didnt know about this object before but was sure there has to be a sequence. But for some reason, some of my transports used to fail when I wasnt using a transporting sequence. But thanks for sharing anyway.
    Thanks,
    Voodi.

  • Activity /Sequence Number

    Hi! All,
    From whcih table we can get the field VORNR (Order/Activity Sequence Number)?
    thanks
    bekele

    Ya... In this case AFVGD is not a table. It is a  structure. Was about to reply that.
    And VORNR is not only restricted to Table AFVC. It is available in many other Tables like AFRD, AFRU, AFRV, CATSHR and many more. Based on the application you need to select the table.

  • Position Activity Sequence Resulting in data extracting error

    hi gurus
    can any body tell me what is this position activity sequence error resulting in data extracting error, plz help. this is very high priority for me.
    regards
    dev

    I rebuild the report using a tabular form and populated the primary key with a PL/SQL expression and now it appears to be working. P1_ISSUE_NO is the primary key on the issue table and I could not figure how to get it in the issue_no field of the tabular report when a new line was entered I ended up putting the following code in for the default for
    issue_no on the report:
    Begin
    return :P1_ISSUE_NO;
    end
    It works great.

  • Understanding Exception handler activity

    All,
    I created 2 view activities in my adfc-config.xml and established a navigation flow between them. The flow happens on click of a button on view1. I have defined an exception handler activity to show unhanded error that may arise. On click of the button in the view1, AM IMPL methods gets called and this is the code
        public void newPage(){
            int k = 5/0; //expecting the error handler activity to get invoked here
        } When i click on the button, i get the exception however the page associated with exception handler is not getting invoked. I want the exception handler page to be shown for error and not the default popups. How do we do that?
    thnks

    No, this is only one possibility...

    I need help as well

  • Exception handler activity doesn't execute

    I have an exception handler in my bounded task flow but it not always executes when an error is raised by some of the BTF activities.
    In my application I'm having a problem with connections closed.
    I don't know if the database, the firewall or who is closing connections but sometimes I get an error in the logs "oracle.jbo.JboException: JBO-29000: Se ha obtenido una excepción inesperada: java.sql.SQLRecoverableException, mensaje=Conexión cerrada" translation "oracle.jbo.JboException: JBO-29000: Un unexpected exception has been raised: java.sql.SQLRecoverableException, message=Closed connection".
    That is bothering me specially because my task flow continues execution despite of the error. ADF opens the connection and then continues execution. This is fatal because previous updating in the entity objects is lost and the consequence is very bad.
    Well, I have tried to insert an exception handler in my task flow in order to capture this errors and then stop execution of the task flow.
    Currently, I'm more upset because of task flow continues execution after the connection closed error that for the error itself.
    The problem is that sometimes the connection closed appears in the log window but the exception handler is not executed. Sometimes yes, some others no.
    In order to test I'm forcing the error manually killing the sessions in the server.
    Any help for any of both problems ? (1- BTF continuing execution after this error raising and 2-Why the exception handler doesn't always execute when a java error stack appears in the log window).
    Thank you.

    this might be caused by a bug I found too causing eventhandlers not to work, the work round in your case would be:
    blar blar blar
    </variables>
    <!-- start work round --><scope><!-- end work round -->
    <faultHandlers>
    blar blar blar
    blar blar blar
    </sequence>
    <!-- start work round --></scope><!-- end work round -->
    </process>
    i.e. what I'm saying is that top level handler don't work since they are ignored by the engine because they are not in a scope. Try it and see....

  • ADF Faces: Exception Handler activity ain't reraised

    Hi there!
    I'm using a Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.3.0 (Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.3.PS2_GENERIC_100408.2356.5660).
    I've done this:
    1. created a bounded task flow flow1 and added to it:
    1.1 a vew activity view1 (the default activity) - shows an inputText field for a db column, for which there is a constraint;
    1.2 a method call activity method1 - calls commit;
    1.3 a view activity view2 - has an ouputText depicting an attribute's value for the same collection as that of inputText in view1;
    1.4 a view activity errorView (marked as an exception handler) - displays a localizedMessage from the currentViewPort;
    1.5 created for the view activities page fragments (with necessary fields and buttons).
    2. linked them as follows:
    2.1 view1 -*-> method1 -*-> view2;
    2.2 errorView -*-> view1.
    3. in the default unbounded task flow created a view activity main, a page file for it, and dropped onto the latter the flow1 as a region;
    4. launched the app (as the table contains some data, the view1 displays first row in a row set);
    5. entered into the view1 's field a non-violating value;
    6. pressed a button (which has just an action property set to move to the method1 ) - everything's fine, we get to the view2;
    6. rerun the app;
    7. entered incorrect value, pressed the button - flow goes, as expected, to the errorView, which informs us the exception's details (JBO-...);
    8. on the errorView page fragment pressed a button - we are now on the view1 page again;
    9. left the wrong (violating) value (or changed it to another incorrect value, doesn't matter) and pressed the button again;
    10. wow, we reached the view2, but, I guess, we hadn't to. Why so?
    One must note, that in clauses 7 and 9, after pressing the button, there apears a popup, which advises us about an ORA-... error, that is, in step 9 the ADF Faces does receive the exception, but why it doesn't reraise the errorView, that's the question.
    Though, when I change the method1 so, that it calls a bean's method, which always throws an IllegalArgumentException, then everything works as should to - we get to the infinite loop - view1 -> method1 -> errorView -> view1.
    Or, when I extract view2 from flow1, and instead of the former insert return activity with End Transaction set to commit, and then wrap (i.e call) flow1 from a newly created bounded task flow flow2, and in main 's page replace flow1 with flow2 region, the result is quite different. The aforesaid popup with ORA- error arises, until one enters a non-violating value. That is in this case everything is good, except, that control never flows into the errorView.
    And there is one more thing to note yet. When I've, namely method1, been calling a bean with the ever exception throwing method, the Integrated WLS's log was silent, but when the method1 was calling commit, then in the log we can see this twice:
    <Utils><buildFacesMessage> ADF: Adding the following JSF error message: ORA-02290: check constraint CHECK(THE_USER.THE_CONSTRAINT) violated

    Hi there!
    I'm using a Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.3.0 (Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.3.PS2_GENERIC_100408.2356.5660).
    I've done this:
    1. created a bounded task flow flow1 and added to it:
    1.1 a vew activity view1 (the default activity) - shows an inputText field for a db column, for which there is a constraint;
    1.2 a method call activity method1 - calls commit;
    1.3 a view activity view2 - has an ouputText depicting an attribute's value for the same collection as that of inputText in view1;
    1.4 a view activity errorView (marked as an exception handler) - displays a localizedMessage from the currentViewPort;
    1.5 created for the view activities page fragments (with necessary fields and buttons).
    2. linked them as follows:
    2.1 view1 -*-> method1 -*-> view2;
    2.2 errorView -*-> view1.
    3. in the default unbounded task flow created a view activity main, a page file for it, and dropped onto the latter the flow1 as a region;
    4. launched the app (as the table contains some data, the view1 displays first row in a row set);
    5. entered into the view1 's field a non-violating value;
    6. pressed a button (which has just an action property set to move to the method1 ) - everything's fine, we get to the view2;
    6. rerun the app;
    7. entered incorrect value, pressed the button - flow goes, as expected, to the errorView, which informs us the exception's details (JBO-...);
    8. on the errorView page fragment pressed a button - we are now on the view1 page again;
    9. left the wrong (violating) value (or changed it to another incorrect value, doesn't matter) and pressed the button again;
    10. wow, we reached the view2, but, I guess, we hadn't to.

  • Button Activation Sequence.

    Hi Everyone,
    I am creating a program which controls a voice coil controller.  In the program, I have a series of buttons that need to be pressed in a specific order, in order for the controller to operate correctly.  Various users will be using this program so it's imperative that they are used in the correct order to prevent controller malfunction.  I was wondering if there was a way, for when the program starts, all of the buttons except one be disabled.  Once that first button is clicked, a second one becomes enabled, and so on.. until they all have been clicked in the right order.  Finally, when a stop or reset button is clicked, the initial state of only one button active becomes true.  I have attached the project if anyone would like to view the GUI.  "Updated GUI Fretter" is the program and the "Test Control" tab is the one I am referring to.  I'd initially like the "Download Program" button to be active, then once that is clicked, "set home position" becomes available for use, and so on to the right.
    Any ideas or suggestions on how to make this function are greatly appreciated.

    I take it back. Event structure is just what you need:

  • Changelist Exception during Activation

    Hello
    I tried to activate the changelist after having imported a SoftwareComponent from SLD and created an empty Namespace Definition. So the changelist did only contain the "Namespace Definition" to activate. During the Activation-Process an ArrayIndexOutOfBounds Exception was thrown.
    Now, the Namespace Definition seems to be "committed" but the changelist itself show the following when trying to re-activate:
    Unexpected state of Changelist (ID=efaf6df9432811e0b57700000097b166, name=Standard change list, owner=xxx). Expected open, but given state is releasedLocally
    Any idea how to solve the problem? I have no problems recreating the whole software-component...

    Hello Kai,
    We faced a similar issue with a Message Mapping object. The status of the object in the Changelist was showing as "Transportable" but displayed under "Open".
    Hence we could not perform any edit on that object.
    We had a Java Restart done and performed a full CPA Cache Refresh after which that error was gone.
    Regards,
    Krish

  • How to active Sequence

    Dear Expert
    I want to use sequence functionality in SAP Business One 2007B.I know the purpose of the Sequence function but i don't know how to active it.when i  am using the Sequence window.sequence window is not active and I can not do anything on Sequence

    Hi Rajani.
    Datta is right. In order to add the sequence you need to press CTRL+I and then you need to add and keep one as set as default......

  • What (the hell) is SQL Exception called Function sequence error?

    ...doing in a code like this:
    ResultSet friends=...executeQuery...
    while (friends.next())
    log.append(friends.getString("sendergsm"));
    somewhere in between that loop, or sometimes the loop runs out fine, and sometimes it throws SQLException called General Error. Not guite normal...

    Thank you for replying... that must be agains some of the policies of the sun, to make methods that may be called normally, but may cause an error.
    Anyway, this is my first database application. The number of problems I've had in few days is unbelivable. I wonder does it load the drivers from disk or something everytime it reads one record from database. I mean when I did the above query, the table had about 10 entries (the program showed 5 to 10 before function sequense error) and displaying each record to TextArea took over second. (In paradox (The dosversion) this would have taken less than a second).
    And paradox tables doesn't work at all because it raises exception: Table isn't expected format. If I set paradox 4.0 drivers and put paradox 4.0 tables, you would guess that the format would be expected. And you cannot create paradox tables with SQL. Now I need to use access databases. How can database containing 60 records be 500kb:s? When it will contain 50000 new records every day, i guess I'll be in problem. Each tranaction (say 5 simple queries) taking minutes... heelp meee!!
