EXCH 2007: All email addresses forwarded to a mail-enabled Public Folder

I need to find all mailboxes and their aliaes that are setup to be Forwarded to a mail-enabled public folder.  Is there an Exchange Mangement Shell script that I can run that will produce that list for me?  Or some other way of finding those mailboxes/aliases?
Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt,
We can try the following command (proposing that Winnie is the Mail-enabled public folder):
Get-Mailbox | Where-Object { $_.ForwardingAddress -eq “Domain.com/Microsoft Exchange System Objects/Winnie” } | Select Name, ForwardingAddress, DeliverToMailboxAndForward
Hope it works.
Thanks,
Winnie Liang

  • When sending e-mail messages to a mail-enabled public folder that have been replicated from old Exchange Server 2000/2003/2007, Exchange Server 2010 environment mails are rejected with NDR.

Hi, I would like to share with you issue that I’ve solved regarding mail-enabled PF that migrated from Exchange 2000/2003/2007 to 2010, I’ve searched & contacted my MVP leader – there’s no official KB regarding this issue right
now, so I’m posting here in order to share this among others.
Note: There’s article(s) that talked about PF replication from Exch2000/2003/2007 to 2010 – this is the same issue as well.
    Symptoms
E-mail messages that been sent to mail-enabled public folder in Exchange Server 2010 environment rejected with the following NDR:
“#< #5.2.0 smtp;554 5.2.0 STOREDRV.Deliver.Exception:ObjectNotFoundException; Failed to process message due to a permanent exception with message The Active Directory user wasn’t found. ObjectNotFoundException: The Active Directory
    user wasn’t found.> #SMTP#”
Sometimes Exchange Server 2010 is documented as well Event ID 1020 on the Event Viewer with this information:
    “Log Name: Application
    Source: MSExchange Store Driver
    Event ID: 1020
    Level: Error
    Description:
The store driver couldn’t deliver the public folder replication message "Hierarchy ([email protected])" because the following error occurred: The Active Directory user wasn't found.”
    Cause
In an environment where Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 or Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 previously existed, and all those servers have been removed, there is a chance that an Administrative Group (First Administrative Group or another custom Administrative
Group) remains with a Servers container, but no servers inside it.
During replication, when the Exchange 2010 Store Driver sees the empty Servers container in Active Directory, it's expecting a System Attendant object inside the container and when it is not found the error occurs.
    Resolution
To work around the issue, delete the empty Servers container. This can't be done through Exchange System Manager. Use the ADSI Edit tool to remove it using the following steps:
Warning If you use the ADSI Edit snap-in, the LDP utility, or any other LDAP version 3 client, and you incorrectly modify the attributes of Active Directory objects, you can cause serious problems. These problems may require you to reinstall Microsoft Windows
2003 Server, Microsoft Windows Server 2008, Microsoft Exchange 2010 Server or both Windows and Exchange. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems that occur if you incorrectly modify Active Directory object attributes can be solved. Modify these attributes
    at your own risk.
    1.
Start the ADSI Edit MMC Snap-in. Click Start, then
Run, and type adsiedit.msc, and then click OK.
    2.
Connect & Expand the Configuration Container [YourServer.DNSDomainName.com], and then expand
    CN=Configuration,DC=DNSDomainName,DC=com.
    3.
Expand CN=Services, and then CN=Microsoft Exchange, and then expand
    CN=YourOrganizationName.
    4.
You will see an empty Administrative Group. Expand the
    CN=YourAdministrativeGroupName.
    5.
    Expand CN=Servers.
    6.
Verify there are no server objects listed under the
    CN=Servers container.
    7.
Right click on the empty CN=Servers container and choose
    Delete.
    8.
Verify the modification, and try to send again the E-mail to the mail-enabled public folder.

Sounds like you are looking in the wrong Administrative Group container which is why you are seeing your Exchange 2010 servers in there.
When you install Exchange 2003 only you will see a container named by default as "CN=First Administrative Group" container. But this could be named anything if you changed the Organization Name on the installation when you installed the first
Exchange 2003 server into the domain/forest.
You will notice that when you install Exchange 2010 part of the AD setup is to create a new configuration container and is named by default "CN=First Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)".
So it sounds like you are not looking in the right location within ADSIEdit.
You may find the following article also helpful for this issue which is the same resolution:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/sbs/archive/2012/05/17/empty-cn-servers-container-causing-issues-with-public-folders-on-small-business-server-2011.aspx
I recommend though that you ensure your Exchange 2003 servers are fully uninstalled or no longer present in your environment before you go deleting the Servers container though.. The following Microsoft article will help with this:

  • Mail-enabled Public Folders not accepting email from external users after migrating from Exchange 2003

We are in the process of trying to decommission our Exchange 2003 server, all of the replicas have been moved to the Exchange 2010 SP3 servers. However, each time we dismount the public folder store on the 2003 server (just to see what won't work) nobody
from outside the company can send mail to the mail-enabled public folders (we use these to communicate with vendors and customers).....they sit in the 2003 mail queue until I remount the store.
I have mail disabled them on the 2010 PF server, waited a few hours and then mail enabled them again. Same issue. Interesting to note is that when the PF store on the 2003 server is dismounted people inside
the company can still send to the mail-enabled PFs (which is good). I am stumped.

On a mail list email when I hit "Reply All" Mail app does not pick up all email addresses when composing a response to a non subscribed user.  This also happens when using web mail in Safari.  No problems on iMac.

last step on the process is a factory restore through itunes to see if its a software glitch, if that doesnt solve it, you iphone may need service

I want to change my Apple ID for IPad because forgot password and all email addresses changed so cannot get informations for password reset. What can I do?

I was wondering if you ever figured this out. I have the same issue. When I try to use the support communities, there are so many with the same problems and never seem to be any replys?? Not very helpful and I can not get Apple to return my emails.

  • Support for  catch all email address

Does anyone know if mail server has support for  catch all email address

I now do want to catch all email as it has become my lives work to report spam.
So I figured out an easier way to catch all email using simply the serveradmin command-line tool (this only takes email that would otherwise bounce):
sudo serveradmin settings mail:imap:lmtp_luser_relay_enabled = yes
sudo serveradmin settings mail:imap:lmtp_luser_relay = catchallusername
    sudo postfix reload

  • Clearing email addresses/ auto fill in mail

When I'm composing an email on my ipad2, I may press the "D" button. Then, in a drop down menu, all email addresses that ive sent emails to show up that start with the letter D(similar to how google try's to predict what your going to search for). Is there a way to clear out the email addressees or stop them from trying to auto fill? My account that my  ipad2 uses is a gmail account. I've tried to go through the gmail settings but nothing found so far....any help would be greatly appreciated.

There isn't. It will eventually push of the line unless Apple change things in the interim.

  • Will iCloud sync all email accounts connected to the mail application?

Will iCloud sync all email accounts connected to the mail application?

The questions on mail and MobileMe are ones that I have, too. But another question/issue that I have is the inability for my iPhone to separate calendars for me. I have 2 work calendars and one personal calendar. Plus I have a family calendar. I would really like to be able to look at my calendars on the iPhone and see what I have for personal, family and business. I was able to do this with my old Blackberry.
When I looked at the video for MobileMe, it seemed to accomplish this on the computer (mac or pc) but I don't remember seeing the iPhone give good distinction between different calendars (i.e. syncing different calendars or separating them by colors).
    Any thoughts?

    Hi,
I’m trying to collect the name, Identity, parentpath and PrimarySmtpAddress of all mail enabled public folders. PrimarySmtpAddress returns empty whatever I do. If I use this same cmd-line then it works fine.

    Get-PublicFolder \ -Recurse  -resultsize unlimited  | ? {$_.MailEnabled -eq $true} | Select-Object Name,Identity,parentPath, `
    @{label='PrimarySmtpAddress';expression={"$((Get-MailPublicFolder '$_.Identity').PrimarySmtpAddress)"}}
     Thanks in advance!

  • HT2486 How can I send an email to all of the email addresses associated with one contact? Similarly, in regard to group lists, how do you include for distribution all email addresses associated with each contact in the group?

Often times there are multiple email addresses associated with a single contact in address book.  How can I included all of these email addresses when creating an address book group?

    Don't be surprised.
Apple offers free, basic Mail and Address Book apps and creates paid, more sophisticated solutions, also allowing Developers to provide more sophisticated solutions for sale in the marketplace.
When I need to repeatedly email to multiple contacts, I create a blank draft email, and use the Address Book button to list the appropriate address book group. With the Address Book window open, it's easy to click to add multiple email addresses for a single contact name. Each is added to the message email address list. Then I save that blank email to iCloud Drafts, and it retains the email addreses I've entered. Next time I need to send a message I double-click on it in Drafts to open it, and drag it to one of my other email accounts to add Subject and details, then send from the other account.

  • Can you set up a smart group to send to all email addresses for each card?

So several of my contacts have more than one email address. I'd like to set up smart groups that send to all of the email addresses for each contact. Is there any way to do this? I've seen some topics that mention applescripts, but that required a bunch of prompts. I want to have smart groups that automatically include every email address. Any thoughts?
    Thanks!
    Dan

A distribution list in Address book will only allow you to choose one email address per contact. There is no way to change that.
As you discovered, you can write an applescript that will send to all addresses in the contact. I'm not sure where you got the idea that it needed lots of prompts. There might have been prompts in the ones you saw because the user wanted to choose.

  • How to make a distribution list that includes all email addresses for each contact?

Is it possible to create a distribution list that allows you to select all possible email addresses for each contact within a group? I am running into the problem that I can only select one email address for each contact, but need multiple. How can this email list be generated using the Contacts app and Mail?

You can't with the way it currently works.
I've never tried, but you might try multiple groups, each with a different email selected.
I think I created an Applescript that would grab every address of every selected person and address an email. It is probably buried in the bowels of these forums.

  • After inst iOS5 my contacts list has 3 separatelists 1All contacts,2all from my mac,  3 all (email address)  all contacts are in 3 times.rate

After inst Ios5 on my iphone , under group, contacts,I have 3 sets of address book   1 all contacts   2 all from my mac   3all (myemail) how do I get rid of the duplication?

I am not good at explaining my problem.  on my phone  opening contacts which shows across top "groups"
under that," All Contacts" is shown contains all my contacts,  Next in small print  "from my Mac" is shown.  this has" all from my mac" Which is all my contacts again  it then lists all my groups.   Then there is a third group shown in small print  '[email protected]'  Under that then Is " All [email protected]" and the rest of my groups are listed again.
Tried to perform the reply you gave me, but could not findthe menu that allow me to choose those that I want to keep.  thank you in advance for the help

  • Extracting all email addresses from On My Mac Mail

    hi all.
trying to do a final organization here after porting to mac OS.
i am trying to extract all emails from my archived mail in the "On My Mac" section of my mac pro. this means that this data will no longer be accessible from my laptop machine or from my iPhone when traveling. in a lot of cases there will be incoming mail from recipients whom i /may/ not have replied to or whom i did not reply to within Mac Mail (i am coming from PC land and i have used Postbaox before ditching this software awhile back).
i realize that i have the opportunity to ADD emails from the Previous Recipients section of my Mac Pro and from my MacBookPro - however in the case of mail that i am archiving on the Mac Pro this option is not available.
can anyone help me get from here to there (having some kind of list of my important email addresses) so that i can go through this list and either keep it on hand or add the important ones manually to my Contacts? i would say that alternatively i would be happy to bulk add these to the Previous Recipients list on my Mac Pro but this data is already somewhat out of hand and the fact that it resides only on my desktop until i add the addresses to Mac Contacts (as does the Previous Recipients List on my MacBook Pro and presumably on my IPhone).
i ran a google search and came up with the following links which i am going to print out and try and muddle through so any advice on this would be really welcome.
    THANKS

If you are lucky, you might be able to restore individual messages. To do it, open Mail and then, open the Time Machine application (in /Applications/Utilities). Then, choose the backup you want at the right and you will be able to select messages and restore them.
After restoring them, they will appear in "Recovered Messages" in the Mail sidebar, under "On my Mac"

  • Sending an email to all email addresses for a contact in a Group

I recently compiled a Group of contacts so that I could send out a Christmas email. These days most people have more than one email address. From what I understand, Mail will send it to the first email listed on their Address Book card. What if I wanted to send the email to all of their emails listed on their card? Is that possible?

Another suggestion is to have multiple groups which feed a "master" group. For example, Jane Doe has two email addresses (home and office) which I need to use in a single email message.
I create a master group calling it "Soccer". For the Distribution List, I use Jane's home email for Group 1 and Jane's work email for Group 2. I then drag and drop Group 1 and Group 2 into the "Soccer" group.
This isn't perfect, but it doesn't require you to have duplicate contacts.
    Hope this helps someone.
