Exchange ActiveSync Error

Hello,
WE have Exchange 2010 running in a DAG and everything has been working fine. We have 2 Sites 2CAS and 2Mbox in each site. For some reason when I try and activate a new device from Site2 I receive and error on the CAS server in Site1 which states;
The Client Access server doesn't have the InternalURL value set for the Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync virtual directory. This prevents Exchange ServiceDiscovery from finding the MobileSyncService information for user SERVERMBOX02.domain.com. At least one Client
Access server in the user's mailbox Active Directory site must have the InternalURL value set. The format for the InternalURL value is https://hostname/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync
When I check the ActiveSync settings they are all set. I am only having this issue on adding a user that has a mailbox in Site2, if I try with a user in Site1 I dont have this problem. Does anyone have any suggestion on what might be causing the problem?
Thanks,
Gavin

  • Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync Error Message using VersaMail

    Device: Treo755p (Sprint), Palm Software
    Platform: Windows 2000, Outlook 2003
When I go to my work e-mail account using VersaMail, the following message appears:
IT Policy Update.  Your IT administrator has updated the password policy that applies to your phone.  Press OK to go to the Security application now.  You won't be able to sync with Exchange until you change your password.
When I click "OK," another message appears:
IT Policy Update.  Your administrator requires a password with at least 152 characters.
When I click "OK,", it takes me to the Security settings on my phone.  I've never set up a password on my phone before, so I don't know why this is happening.  I already checked with the IT guy and they haven't changed anything on the server.
I tried a soft reset and nothing happened.  I also tried to setting it up again as a new e-mail account, but Exchange ActiveSync isn't even an option when trying to pick the Mail Service.  So something is screwy with the phone/software.

Hello, I'm getting the same thing here, except I think I'm getting a better deal than some of you.  It's only asking me for a 118-character password.

  • Exchange 2010 - ActiveSync - Error:TooManyClientOperations

    Hello,
For last 4 months, our mobile workforce is using ActiveSync access to Exchange 2010 in combination with McAfee Enterprise Mobility Management 12.0 that acts as an (kind of) ActiveSync proxy. Monitoring IIS logs on our Exchange CAS/MBX
server, I’ve noticed that one of our users recently started getting a lot of following errors:
    Cmd=Sync&User=domain%5Cuser.name&DeviceId=SEC2FA0AC3DE555E&DeviceType=SAMSUNGSMG900F&Log=V121_LdapC1_RpcC24_RpcL63_Pk3978727234_Error:TooManyClientOperations_As:AllowedG_Mbx:server.domain.com_Throttle0_Budget:(A)Conn%3a0%2cHangingConn%3a0%2cAD%3a%24null%2f%24null%2f0%25%2cCAS%3a%24null%2f%24null%2f3%25%2cAB%3a%24null%2f%24null%2f0%25%2cRPC%3a%24null%2f%24null%2f1%25%2cFC%3a1000%2f0%2cPolicy%3aDefaultThrottlingPolicy%5Fcfff8eee-4334-
Mobile device has all the latest updates installed.
Searching Internet, only relevant article I managed to find is on Microsoft Exchange Japan blog:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchangeteamjp/archive/2014/07/24/3635022.aspx
As I cannot find any other reference on MaxNumberOfClientOperations, I am reluctant to make that change easily. I would also like to know is there any way to monitor what exactly is happening (e.g. I would like to have a way to get more
info on currently active operations that IIS log is reffering to).
    Thanks, MiToZ

    Hello Martin,
Thanks for answering. I am aware of Exchange Throttling Policy concept, but I am uncertain what is happening with this particular user and I am looking for ways to troubleshoot it further. Using ActiveSync troubleshooting script from Exchange Team Blog
    (http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2012/01/31/a-script-to-troubleshoot-issues-with-exchange-activesync.aspx), I can
see that this user is not anywhere near our top users based on number of ActiveSync commands sent to our Exchange server. Is there any cmdlet, log or any other way that I could use to see currently (or at some point in time) active client
    operations?
    Thanks, MiToZ

    Hi Luksharp
Is it happening only for Iphones or is it for all types of phones as well ?
What version of Exchange server you are running ?
Are you experiencing this issue after any recent upgrade or changes in CAS server ?
Just check the sync state policy refer below article
    http://blog.chrislehr.com/2012/02/difference-in-policy-versions.html
Looks like Sync State Policy is loaded for user's mailbox from latest version of CAS server and it was contacted the lower version of CAS for mailbox access.
Just ensure all of your CAS servers are up to date with all mailbox and hub in correct versions.

  • SBS 2011; Exchange ActiveSync problems in the middle of a migration

    Hi
We're in the middle of a migration from SBS 2003 to SBS 2011 and are stuck in the lengthy process of moving users' mailboxes.
At this point, I have about 20 percent of the users' email on the SBS 2011 box, and the rest still on the SBS 2003 box.
Right now I have to quickly deal with an issue that's cropped up with Exchange ActiveSync:
I ran the Connectivity Analyzer for a user (this one's box had been migrated) and got the error below. By the looks of the error, I don't think it matters where the mailbox happens to reside ...
The SBS 2011 box has been set up using a migration install and the procedures listed in the MS migration docs.
At the rate we're going, it's still going to take a while to migrate these mailboxes. (The fact that they began tonight was actually an accident.) If mobile users can't get their mail, I'm going to have a big mess on my hands ...
What do I need to do to get this running properly for all users?
    Thanks
    CL

    Hi --
Neither of the Exchange servers is publicly listed as the mail handler for this domain. Mail is preprocessed by a cloud spam filtering service before coming down. So I expect no changes in MX records -- not even a change in the spam filter's delivery IP
address, since that points to my firewall. I'll forward SMTP traffic to the new server when the time comes.
I was told by MS that moving the mailboxes would not disrupt anything as long as both SBS boxes were up and running. And despite what the Connectivity Analyzer showed, people in this office have been receiving email on their mobile phones all day. I've had
a few sporadic reports of people supposedly not getting email on their smartphones, but I can't see how anything I did (basically just move mailboxes at this point) could allow some people's phones to get mail while others' can't, when everyone was getting
    mail yesterday.
I also have an odd report from someone who claims that his mobile phone is processing email just fine, but his MacBook running Entourage suddenly can't connect.
Oh well ... The day is over (at least for the workers). Hopefully by the time the workers return on Monday, I'll be back to having just one SBS box on the network.
The mailboxes are being moved A LOT faster than any of the documents I read warned me they would. One document said that a 75 GB database could take close to 48 hours to transfer. And this server's Exchange database was 67 GB ... But last night's
"accident" (I thought I was only prepping a new database when in fact the machine was actively moving email into it) resulted in about 40% of the mailboxes being completely moved by 8 a.m.. And since 5 p.m., when I restarted the move requests,
the machine has completed the moves of about 20% more mailboxes. So I expect this part to be over probably by early morning. (The ones that remain are the really big ones -- still, after I spent a week doing mailbox housekeeping.)
I was also warned about the lengthy conversion requirements for the public folders. I transferred those last weekend. The whole process was over with in less than four hours. Go figure ...
(The public folder transfer did have an annoying side effect -- I kept receiving warning after warning via email from the SBS 2003 box about a high number of items in Exchange's send queues ...)
    Thanks
    CL

  • Versamail and Exchange Activesync

I currently own a Treo 755p with Verizon service.  I have been trying to set up my Versamail v3.5.5 with Exchange Activesync and I keep getting errors when I try to set it up.  It used to work when my company was using Exchange 200, but ever since my company switched to Exchange 2007 I have been getting these errors.  In reading some of the forums it looks as though Versamail 3.5 does not support Exchange 2007.  If that is the case is there going to be any update released, or is there anything I can do to get Versamail to work with Exchange 2007, assuming that is the problem?  Thanks for your help

  • Gmail Exchange Activesync Now Works??

So I had exchange activesync set up through gmail for my calendar and I had the mail turned on and it always gave an error because it didnt work with gmail. Well today all of a sudden it has started bringing the mail through. Anyone know if it official works now then?

Well I have been using it for Calendars and Contacts for quite some time now (with option for Mail turned off) and use IMAP for gMail (as I find this is just fine for me).
But pulling up their page about how to setup (same page I used before) after reading your post, I see them listing email push now.

  • Exchange ActiveSync - Exchange server down

We had a situation this weekend where the Exchange store didn't come up properly after a restart. Apparently, there was a sync pending for one of the iPhones when this happened, as the Application log was quickly flooded with error messages:
Unexpected Exchange mailbox Server error: Server: [sbs2.xxxxxx.com] User: [[email protected]] HTTP status code: [503]. Verify that the Exchange mailbox Server is working correctly.
This error was being posted about twice per second. While the error log getting hammered isn't ideal, the bigger issue was that the user's phone was rapidly draining the battery from all of the activity.
Does anyone know if there is a way to prevent this in the future?

Hi..  Welcome to the Palm forums.  Well I will answer your questions as best I can.  First here is a link for the Administrators Guide for MicroSoft Exchange Activesync  http://www.palm.com/us/support/handbooks/treo/Treo650_ExchangeActiveSyncAdminGuide.pdf.  As you look thru it you will see that when it is talking about your data it states that it syncronizes which means the device updates the server and visa versa when you sync. So in answer to your question, if you setup a 680 to sync to an exchange server does it sync or simply update the server?  The exchange server has the ability for it to syncronize, both update each other.  Now I am not a system administrator but I would strongly believe that feature can be modified on the server end and that may be the case with a free exchange server account.  So what they are telling you is either they have their server set only to update the mobile device or they dont know how to set it up any other way.  As expensive as the MicroSoft Exchange Activesync software is I would assume that full service would be for a fee.  So in answer to question 1, yes an Exchange Server will syncronize (providing it is setup to do so).  Now for question 2.  In regards to the Pre, There's no special client application that we know of.  You can connect the Pre as a mass-storage device via mini usb and drag-and-drop into preexisting folders made for those files.  As for other types of syncing, such as Outlook, we have no information as to how that will work yet.  The best information available (about the only information) is at www.palm.com/pre.

  • Exchange Activesync and multiple smtp addresses in same domain

    Hi,
Could anyone help with this if it is possible via Exchange Activesync or a third party software?:
I have a domain user called UserA with three smtp addresses in exchange server 2007SP3 (1 primary -
    [email protected] ) and 2-secondary -
    [email protected] and
    [email protected] ).
The user has been  successfullly setup on an iphone with Exchange Activesync using the primary address. Now, the management wants UserA to be setup to receive mails for the other two secondary addresses using the Domain username
    UserA on the same iphone.
Our Exchange team have tested the practicality of this on the iphone and doesn't seems possible; the error was ''Can't create account- An identical Exchange account already exists''
when this was attempted on iphone. Is this error IOS related or EAS.
I have searched everywhere for any documentations from microsoft  or any of the smart phone vendors (please point to any link that may exist) to confirm this as a proof to the management.
    Thanks.

I'm seeing this same limitation and I'm needing to determine if it is an ActiveSync limitation from Exchange or if it maybe is a limitation of the mobile device.
I have customers who are delegates for multiple exchange mailboxes.  For the sake of example I'll use the following:
John Smith ([email protected]) is a delegate on a shared mailbox ([email protected]) and a delegate for his boss, Cheryl Thompson ([email protected]).
John has an Iphone 4S running IOS7.  He adds his exchange account ([email protected]) and accesses email/contacts/calendars on that account with no issues.
Next he adds the shared mailbox by putting [email protected] in as the email address of the account, but he uses jsmith with his password as his user credentials.  The account is added and John is able to access the shared mailbox and calendars for
    this account.
When he trys to add the 3rd account for his boss, he uses his boss' email address ([email protected]) with his jsmith credentials and he gets the following error:  "Cannot Create Account:  An identical Exchange account already exists."
Any idea of whether this is an Exchange 2010 limitation or an IOS limitation?  The infrastructure we are using is Exchange 2010.

  • IPhone/iPad can't forward attachments via Exchange ActiveSync

    We're currently moving from Exchange 2003 SP2 to Exchange 2010 SP1.
Most of our mailboxes are still on EX2003, however most of our services have been moved to EX2010.
Services such as mailflow; EAS; OWA; etc...
A week or two after cutting services over, a lot of our iPhone/iPad users started to experience the problem where they couldn't forward emails that contained attachments from their iPhones. They get a "Cannot Send Mail: An error occurred while delivering this message."
We did some initial testing with .txt; .doc; .pdf and found that most attachments would not go if they were bigger than 100KB.
We checked our EX2010 Exchange ActiveSync Mailbox Policies to see if there was a default maximum attachment size set.
There was none, so we set it for 40MB.
We also updated the refresh interval to 1 hr, however we still can't seem to forward emails that contain attachments.
Any solutions or suggestions would help.
I looked at other posts to try solutions offered there however have been unsuccessful

This is what worked for us:
    Environment:
ActiveSync configured on Exchange 2003 SP2 running on Windows Server 2003 SP2with IIS 6
    Issue:
Email message  with attachment (regardless of attachmentsize) sent  from a mobile device(smartphone, iPhone, iPad, etc.) remains “stuck” in mobile device’s  Outbox, but NOT in Exchange account Outbox
No error message(s) displayed on mobile deviceor on Exchange server
NOTE:NO problems receiving/opening/reading Incoming emails  that have attachments  on a mobile device
    Fix:
Go to the %SystemRoot%\Temp( WINNT\Temp or  WINDOWS\Temp)directory on the Exchange server:
Click on the Security tab and add Authenticated Users
    Grant AuthenticatedUsers the following permissions:
    Modify
    Read & Execute
    List Folder Contents
    Read
    Write
