Exchange configuration in SCCM 2012

Hi All,
I was configuring Exchange server connectors on SCCM 2012 SP1 & our organization is using office 365 as exchange so, how do we configure this.
There are options for on premise exchange server & hosted exchange server where should i put this.
Thanks,
Pranay.

Thanks Jorgen, the post was great.
Configured the settings as per the link but got this error in Easdisc.log

  • Question in Installing exchange connector in SCCM 2012 R2

    Hi,
    I am installing Exchange connector in SCCM 2012 R2 environment. I have Exchange 2010 SP3 in my environment.
    While adding the exchange connector wizard, in the Settings page, I am confused which option to select in
    "ALLOW EXTERNAL MOBILE DEVICE MANAGEMENT". The options are
    Exchange Default, Allowed and Prohibited.
    As per my requirement, i just need the mobile device inventory. Nothing else is required. I have found that incorrect settings here will not allow the users to receive mails.
    Can anyone please guide me that which option needs to be selected here as all the settings will be managed by Exchange only and SCCM just requires the inventory information.
    Thanks.
    -AB
    -Thanks AB

    So, I think the correct option should be Exchange(Default). Please correct me if I am wrong.
    You would have to ask your Exchange admin how it is configured. Wally already provided the link which explains it: "If the mobile device synchronizes with Exchange Server, set the Exchange flag
    AllowExternalDeviceManagement to ensure that the mobile device continues to receive email from Exchange after it is enrolled by Configuration Manager. If you install the Configuration Manager Exchange Server connector, you
    can set this flag by configuring the option External mobile device management in the Exchange Server connector properties" So it has to be set to "allowed" somehow (either by specifying it in the connector's
    properties or using the Exchange settings).

  • SQL Server 2012 deployment with System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2012

    hi,
    we have tried to deploy the SQL Server 2012 to our development machines with SCCM 2012 without success.
    Commandline parameters or Configuration.ini in either case the installation failed without any useful errorlog.
    Exists any howto which covers this scenario?

    Hello,
    Please see the following article about some requirements for SQL Server instances intended for SCCM 2012:
    http://www.sqlcoffee.com/Tips0019.htm
    Could please check to see if a Summary.txt log file exists after those installation attempts? The following article may help you locate the file on disk:

  • Boundaries configuration in SCCM 2012. Step-by-Step doc, link

    Hello MS team,
    I have a client that currently has one boundary configured in their SCCM 2007 environment that uses the Default_First-Site-Name.
    This client needs to reconfigure this in SCCM 2007 as there should not be any overlapping Boundaries in SCCM 2007 and 2012.
    Once all of the required boundaries are configured in the company and there are no overlapping boundaries in SCCM 2012 environment, they can then enable client
    push to take advantage of this automated deployment method.
    Can you please provide me with the steps for configure boundaries in SCCM and AD?
    AD only has the default_First-Site-Name, therefore no multiple sites
    Please, indicate step by step all the work and tasks required to be executed in AD and SCCM 2012
    Franki

    Boundaries are not conidered to be overlapping if they are in two seperate hierarchies.
    Automatic lcient push won't work if the 2007 client is already installed.
    You don't have to set anything up in AD. Just use ip ranges.

  • Compliance evaluation cycle in not running as configured in SCCM 2012 R2

    Hi,
    We want to test compliance setting feature in SCCM 2012 R2. We have enable compliance setting in client setting with every 1 hour of evaluation cycle.
    We have configure compliance baseline to check registry key.
    Compliance baseline is configured to evaluate every 1 hour, but observed that clients are not evaluating as configured. Tried to running Machine policy evaluation cycle at client side but still not getting result.
    So please help to understand why not clients are evaluating compliance evaluation cycle every 1 hour or let me know how to force client to evaluate the compliance cycle.
    Also it observed that some clients are evaluating the compliance cycle but not as configured.

    As I mentioned above I have configure baseline to check registry key at client side, If it is 1 then show it as compliant.
    If you configured a simple schedule of every 1 hour, that means each client will run the baseline every hour but exactly
    when will be determined by each client individually so there will be no set time when they run. Can you please elaborate this?
    What will be the best compliance evaluation cycle we can set to give desired result?

  • NETWORK PRINTER INVENTORY IN SYSTEM CENTRE CONFIGURATION MANAGER (SCCM 2012).

    SCCM HW inventory agent runs as the ‘SYSTEM’ and cannot see the end-users network drives and printers. The following two step process will help circumvent the above stated limitation.
    1) CREATE HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SCCMINVENTORY\NETWORKPRINTERS PATH IN THE REGISTRY.
    Create a SCCM package.
    The package should run as administrator.
    The package should run whether or not a user is logged on.
    POWERSHELL PACKAGE 1 (Prerequisite):
    if (!(Test-Path HKLM:\SOFTWARE\SCCMINVENTORY)) {new-item HKLM:\SOFTWARE\SCCMINVENTORY -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue}
    $perm = get-acl HKLM:\SOFTWARE\SCCMINVENTORY -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
    $rule = New-Object System.Security.AccessControl.RegistryAccessRule("Authenticated Users","FullControl", "ContainerInherit, ObjectInherit", "InheritOnly", "Allow") -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
    $perm.SetAccessRule($rule)
    Set-Acl -Path HKLM:\SOFTWARE\SCCMINVENTORY $perm -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
    if (!(Test-Path HKLM:\SOFTWARE\SCCMINVENTORY\NETWORKPRINTERS)) {new-item HKLM:\SOFTWARE\SCCMINVENTORY\NETWORKPRINTERS -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue}
    SAVE POWERSHELL FILE AS: PrinterInvRegSetup.ps1
    SETUP THE SCCM PACKAGE/PROGRAM WITH COMMAND LINE:
    %SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\PowerShell.exe -NonInteractive -WindowStyle Hidden -noprofile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -file .\PrinterInvRegSetup.ps1
    2) CAPTURE CURRENT USER’S PRINTERS AND WRITE THOSE ENTRIES TO THE ABOVE CREATED REGISTRY KEYS.
    Create a SCCM package
    The package should be run only when a user is logged in.
    POWERSHELL PACKAGE 2 (Main):
    $printers = Get-WMIObject -class Win32_Printer -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue|select-Object -Property ServerName,ShareName,Location,DriverName,PrintProcessor,PortName,Local |Where-Object {$_.Local -ne $true}-ErrorAction SilentlyContinue

    %SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\PowerShell.exe -NonInteractive -WindowStyle Hidden -noprofile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -file .\NetworkPrinterInventory.ps1
    3) CREATE A DEPLOYMENT AND SET IT TO ‘RUN ALWAYS’ AND MAKE IT A REQUIREMENT.
    Now deploy the second package and set the first package as a prerequisite (Check the box – Always run the prerequisite package)
    The deployment should be set to run every 4 hours and ‘Always rerun’. Mark the deployment as required.
    4) ADD THE FOLLOWING IN BETWEEN THE EXTENSION SECTION WITHIN YOUR CONFIGURATION.MOF.
    //========================
    // Added extensions Start
    //========================
    #pragma namespace ("\\\\.\\root\\cimv2")
    #pragma deleteclass("NETWORKPRINTERS", NOFAIL)
    [dynamic, provider("RegProv"), ClassContext("Local|HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\SCCMINVENTORY\\NETWORKPRINTERS")]
    Class NETWORKPRINTERS
    [key] string KeyName;
    [PropertyContext("PrintServer")] String PrintServer;
    [PropertyContext("PrinterQueue")] String PrinterQueue;
    [PropertyContext("PrinterLocation")] String PrinterLocation;
    [PropertyContext("PrinterDriver")] String PrinterDriver;
    [PropertyContext("PrintProcessor")] String PrintProcessor;
    [PropertyContext("PrinterPortName")] String PrinterPortName;
    [PropertyContext("DateInventoried")] String DateInventoried;
    //========================
    // Added extensions end
    //========================
    5) SAVE THE BELOW DATA INTO A FILE CALLED ‘AWESOME.MOF’.
    #pragma namespace (“\\\\.\\root\\cimv2\\SMS”)
    #pragma deleteclass(“NETWORKPRINTERS”, NOFAIL)
    [SMS_Report(TRUE),SMS_Group_Name("NETWORKPRINTERS"),SMS_Class_ID("NETWORKPRINTERS")]
    Class NETWORKPRINTERS: SMS_Class_Template
    [SMS_Report(TRUE),key] string KeyName;
    [SMS_Report(TRUE)] String PrintServer;
    [SMS_Report(TRUE)] String PrinterQueue;
    [SMS_Report(TRUE)] String PrinterLocation;
    [SMS_Report(TRUE)] String PrinterDriver;
    [SMS_Report(TRUE)] String PrintProcessor;
    [SMS_Report(TRUE)] String PrinterPortName;
    [SMS_Report(TRUE)] String DateInventoried;
    6) IMPORT ‘AWESOME.MOF’ INTO SCCM DEFAULT CLIENT SETTINGS.
    Either import the above MOF file into the Client Setting/Default Client Settings/Hardware Inventory/Classes/Import. Select the option to import every thing.
    Alternatively, if you have compiled the MOF manually on the PC, Add a new reporting class by clicking the ‘Add’ button and connecting to the PC and selecting the WMI class ‘NETWORKPRINTERS‘
    and that is it. The SCCM resource explorer should soon see the Network Printers.
    Now, this is a convoluted process but this is the only way I can inventory Network printers. Any ideas or suggestions?

    All the other ways are similar because this is a per-user setting.

  • Workgroup Client Installation & configuration in SCCM 2012

    Hi,
    i have an internal domain named ECC-OCT.local which has internal IP 10.0.8.45 and SCCM server IP 10.0.8.47.
    i have been installed SCCM Client Agent on a workgroup server manually but the site code not approved
    (why ?).
    Keep in mind that the DNS for the workgroup server was my public DNS Server which configured to hold secondary zone
    for internal domain ECC-OCT.local.
    If i assigned the 3rd dns server (on network card configuration) to ip 10.0.8.45 , the site code retrieved successfully.
    what can i do to solve this issue?

    Hi,
    Based on your description, I recommend you check the MP record in DNS:
    The SRV record must has been registered in DNS.
    SRV record is published in DNS
    Also, you can edit the LMHOSTS and HOSTS files on each client for the site code retrieve.

  • SCCM 2012 SP1 CU1 Exchange connector error

    Hi, I have configured the Exchange connector on SCCM 2012 SP1 CU1 towards an Exchange 2013. I get this error in easdisk.log:

    If I launch the same command (Get-recipient), using the same account SCCM uses, directly in PSRemote on the Exchange server, it works correctly. I tried also to make the account Organization Manager, but same result.
    Any hints?

    I made a thread about unmanageable devices. I had this error too after updating my environement. In my scenario this particular error only occured after I updated to Exchange 2013 CU1. Therefore I believe this error is an Exchange related bug.
    SCCM 2012 with Exchange 2013 gave me this error:

    SCCM 2012 CU1 with Exchange 2013 gave me the same error:

    SCCM 2012 CU1 with Exchange 2013 CU1 gave me your error:

  • Editing Configuration.MOF For Network Printers/Mapped Drives SCCM 2012?

    Question is in Configuration Manager 2007 I would edit the SMS Def MOF file and then run Datashift.vbs on all the clients to add a WMI class for mapped drives for inventory.  So most of my clients that I upgraded to 2012 already have that class added
    to WMI. I just need to figure out what I need to do on the new server and Configuration.MOF (since SMS Def is missing in 2012) to tell it to collect the newly added classes during hardware inventory. I see that you can click on Set Classes in the client settings
    but I don't see where you can check mapped drives or network printers there.

    There is no out-of-box solution to handle this task.
    But try this. This has worked for us really well. We've got 22000 machines inventoried.

  • Configure SUSDB_log.ldf Autogrowth Size on SCCM 2012 Standalone Primary Site Server

    I have configured the rest of my .ldf log files for SCCM use according to best practices by SCCM MVPs, but I have not read anywhere that states how I should go about configuring the auto growth for the WSUS database log file (susdb_log.ldf) itself.
    If someone can offer some guidance here, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks

    Thanks Torsten.
    So after I run the first full sync, I can just use that value to set the initial size like you stated and then use some other value to set the growth rate? There is only about 1,000 clients in this organization and I want to get this WSUS db log file configured
    prior to installing the SCCM primary site on the server. I have used Kent Agerlund's instructions on pre-configuring the SCCM 2012 R2 database and everything looks good there, but just wanted to know how to go about NOT using that 2TB default limit on the
    SUSDB_log. What is a good rule of thumb to use to determine the file growth value? Like 2x or 3x the initial value size?
    Thanks

  • Adobe Creative Cloud Enterprise Deployment Issues using SCCM 2012 R2

    Hi,
    I have been trying to deploy Adobe Creative Cloud Enterprise to Windows 8.1 machines that are identical, using SCCM 2012 R2.
    The Adobe package seems fine, because it seems to deploy successfully to some machines. And SCCM 2012 R2 has been configured correctly, as I can deploy other software using it, and again, it deploys Adobe CC successfully to some of the machines.
    I have tried comparing the package that is downloaded on the test machine/client machine, with the original package on the distribution point, using Beyond Compare, and there are no differences.
    I have contacted Adobe Enterprise Support, and they asked me to send to them log files from Event Viewer, the msi installer, and other Adobe logs, from the machine that failed the deployment. However, after Adobe studying them, they told me that they could not identify any problems... Strange, because I could have sworn that I saw error 1603 pop up over 20 times on different machines indicating that the 'Set-up.dat' file had a problem with it.
    After all the testing on over 20 identical machines (same hardware/same software), using different configurations on SCCM 2012 R2 and the client machines, I still can't seem to have a reliable solution to deploying Adobe CC.
    The fact that it deploys successfully on one machine and fails on another, or sometimes deploy to two machines and fail on another (simultaneously), is something that I don't understand.
    Another thing is that, if I retry the deployment 10-15 times after it failed the first time, it might go through...
    Adobe Enterprise Support asked me if they could remote into a machine that failed the deployment to have a look at it and I agreed to that option, but it seems like my issue has been ignored because they never got back to me.
    Has anyone had this kind of problem or anything similar before?
    I need to be able to deploy this remotely to 100+ machines. So installing manually is not an option.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi Robert,
    We seem to be having a very similar issue.  Our installs would randomly fail with error code 1603 and an error message about a fault in Set-up.dat.  Failure rate was near 95% on our 900 machines.  Adobe Support and Karl having been looking into our issues but so far no solution has been found.
    Having done a lot of investigating we've managed to deploy our package using a schedule task running as a domain admin.  This is a nasty solution and we don't intend on using this permanently, but we needed to get the package out.

    When I tried to enroll 2 windows 8.1/ 7 laptop (intel x86), they donot show up in SCCM. clients of intune manually installed, endpoint protection of SCCM installed also on both boxes.
    I tried updating membership in SCCM for both know and unknown type, many time and also triggered Deployment of some desktop app, to the win 8.1 laptops. the desktops are showing in Intune All devices -> all computers nicely. But
    not in SCCM2012.
    what did I missed, I tried to add all the logical roles. below is some details what shows up in Intune:
    indranil

    If you installed the Intune agents on the Win 8.1 and Win 7 systems, then they will never show up in ConfigMgr.
    There are basically two parts of Intune -- a Mobile Device Management piece and a Windows management piece. The Intune connector in ConfigMgr takes over the MDM piece and nothing more. When ConfigMgr takes over this MDM piece, as Torsten said, all MDM devices
    enrolled show up in ConfigMgr and not Intune because that's now controlled by ConfigMgr. The Windows management piece remains unchanged and separate though and so those systems will be directly managed by Intune only or ConfigMgr only.
    So you have three options there:
    - Install the ConfigMgr agent and managed using COnfigMgr
    - Install the Intune agent and manage using Intune
    - Enroll the systems using OMA-DM which manages them as if they were devices. This means so you don't get SCEP or Windows Updates or most of the other ConfigMgr functionality. This is only valid for Win 8.1 though.

  • SCCM 2012 and Exchange 2013 Connector

    Hello all,
    I hope that you are well!
    I have an issue that I can't explain for the moment, maybe someone can help me.
    Actually we have SCCM 2012 SP1 and Exchange 2013 Enterprise in our LAN.
    Now I did the configuration within SCCM of creating a new Exchange Server Connectors, everything seem's to be okay, no warning, no active alert, the Exchange server connection account and so on..
    But I can't see the mobile devices from my user into the All Mobile Devices within SCCM 2012.
    Do I miss something into this specific configuration, certificate or something related !
    Best regards to all of you

    Issue 2: I'm trying to deploy a couple of Packages/Applications using SCCM 2012 R2 running on Win2K8 R2 with no luck, knowing that I could install the packages
    on a test VM “in the DataCenter site”, but when trying to deploy the packages to production PC “in the Office Site”,
     the status is packages deployment compliance stuck at 0%
    Infrastructure:
    3 SCCM servers: CAS, PRI & SEC. Both CAS and PRI are in the DataCenter site, and SEC is in the Office site. The office site has several IP subnets.
    Boundaries are configured through Forest Discovery “IP Ranges and AD Sites” since that the AD site should contain all the IP subnets that the AD site contains, Boundaries groups are also configured and a site reference
    server is configured for each group respectively.
    A OU based Collection has been configured that contains 13 PC "the collection contains the PCs that the packages should be installed.
    Packages/Applications are configured correctly since that I could successfully deploy the packages to the test VM which is on the same subnet as the CAS and the PRI servers "the DataCenter subnet". The issue
    is that I can't deploy the packages to production PCs in the Office subnet!
    Firewall rules are configured and applied via GP, and I even turned Windows Firewall off, and still nothing! I tried to manually initiate Computer Policy download via the SCCM GUI and via a script, still no luck!
    I tried configuring IP Subnet Boundaries, still no luck!!

    I fixed the issue with the default XXX00002 package - "Configuration Manager Client Package", it will not deploy to the Secondary Site DP. I did that through "Update Distribution Points" option, and after a while the status was 100%.
