BT has closed the call , but I'm staill far from happy and I've been told that I may need to request an exchange reset because of the line problems I had.
I use a Linksys router.

  • SBS Server 2003 and Exchange Server - need to access but only have HDD

    Hi,
I have been redirected here from a Microsoft Community Forum. I am reasonably conversant with windows systems but am not a computer professional, just trying to see if I can solve a problem without spending a great deal of cash at this stage as
our office has been completely flooded out and we are still struggling to regroup....Here is the original question.
A couple of years ago our sever died completely, we kept the HDD's, but unfortunately not the CD's with the software on or the software keys. So I have now 2HDD's, the original boot partition and one with data on. both clean and fully working and
connected now to an old desktop. I can see everything fine, but I cannot boot from the original boot drive (I have tried simply disconnecting the desktop's boot drive and the windows logo shows for 1 second an d then chucks me back to the initial (DOS?) load.
The point is that I need to boot into SBS2003 with the exchange server installed in order to access a handful of old emails which have become extremely important, and also to run an old version of Filemaker server which will not run on any newer O.S.
I have tried, incidentally, a converter for the exchange files and I can see the directories but I think that unless I pay $xxx for something, which I cannot afford now, then I will not get the emails and all attachments back.
So my question is this - is there anyway I can use the original boot disk in a new hardware environment to restore both sbs 200 and exchange to working condition? I have paid vast sums for both so I do feel that I should be able to use them still!
    Many thanks
    Gor

  • Leaving company with MS Exchange. Need to transfer all appts

I'll be leaving my company soon and all of my appts - work and personal - are on my Exchange calendar. Once I lose that email address, I'll lose all my appointments. How do I take all those appointments and put them into a different calendar so I don't lose anything?
As well, I will be moving to a company that has an Exchange server so I would like to transfer the data to the new Exchange once it's up and running on my phone. Easy?
    null

If you have Outlook available on your PC at home, export your Exchange calendar events from Outlook on your computer at work for import by Outlook on your personal PC at home. If your new employer does not allow you to access the company Exchange account with Outlook on a personal computer at home, you will need to do the reverse to get these calendar events available on the Exchange server at work. Export from Outlook on your personal PC at home for import by Outlook on your PC at work.

  • No firewire after turning of mains power - SMU reset needed to fix

Everytime I turn the mains power off on my 20" G5 imac when I reboot I've lost all my firewire connections. If I do a SMU reset they both come back.
It's a new logic board having been replaced on Apple Care for the overheating and fan problems.
Unfortunately my Apple care has now run out.
    I've so far:
    1. Replaced the Logic Board battery,
    2. Wiped the drive and reinstalled the OS,
    3. Zapped the PRAM
    4. Reset the NVRAM
    5. Reset-all the Open Firmware
    6. Swapped the Ram out
I know a lot of people have had similar problems, but none of the fixes work.
Any ideas on what might be causing this problem?
    Thanks.

    Hi airsine,
The "standard" fix for firewire problems is actually to remove all power to both the computer and the connected FW devices, disconnect the FW devices, wait 15 minutes (sometimes far less is all that is needed) and then fire it all up again. The FW ports have a self resetting fuse that can be reset using the above process. The SMU reset process can "mimic" this process, because it also involves removing power to the computer, though the SMU in theory itself should have no real effect on your FW ports.
I find myself wondering whether the problem is actually occurring not when you turn your system off at the mains, but when you turn it on again. Usually FW problems of this kind turn out to be related to either a problematic device, or combination of devices, dragging too much power, or a bad cable.
Have you tried adding the devices one by one, to see if the problem is related to any particular one of them? You might also want to try using a powered FW hub, as this can overcome problems associated with too much load on the FW port when devices are "daisy chained". What do you actually have connected?
    Cheers

  • Wsusutil reset need to be cancelled

    Hi,
I initiated wsusutil /reset, but pointed to a wrong upstream server.
So the process is continuously running without any updates downloading.
Need to cancel this and restart the process pointing to the correct upstream server.
However, when I tried to change the update source from the management console, it errors out with saying that the database is too busy or not connected.
Is there anyway I can cancel wsusutil reset so that I can restart correctly instead of waiting days for the current process to finish?

No known way to kill a wsusutil reset.
Just gonna have to wait for it to finish.
How did you point it to a "wrong upstream server". As far as I know it can only be run *LOCALLY*!

  • Mail for Exchange (N9): Need to confirm my own app...

    Hi all,
I'm new both to my N9 and to this forum, so forgive me if I ask stupid questions...
I've linked my N9 to my Exchange account via Mail for Exchange. My appointments sync, but when I open an appointment I'm prompted to confirm or deny the appointment as if someone had sent me an appointment request. But these are my own appointments from my own Exchange account - why would I need to confirm them?
Can I somehow set MfE to accept all appointments from this account?
While we're at it: How can I stop birthdays moving around by one or two days?
    Many thanks!
    N.

I set it up on my N9 the same way as I did on my N900 and it will not connect. I'm using Exchange server 2010 by the way.
I have exactly the same problem. I had a working integration with N900 and our Exchange 2010. There were a few tweaks I needed to do (including rooting the phone to get to modify hosts-file to include non-fqdn alias for our mail server and installing two extra certificates for getting the phone to accept our self-signed server cert. All this works like a champ on N900 and I've gotten pretty far with N9, too: I can now access our Mail for Exchange server (with the N9 web browser,  with HTTPS) using the "non-qualified" domain name and there are no complaints about the self-signed certs, either. So, basically the communication channel should be fine. This was much easier on N9 as you do not have to "root" the phone to get root access, it is available directly from the developer mode.
But what happens is exactly the same as you're seeing: MfE gets no connection with the Exchange server even though everything should be ok. There is, in fact, nothing in the Exchange server logs to help me any further. My collegue suspected that the mail client might need a "deeper" URL to the MfE server (URL pointing further than the root of the server) but MfE client does not accept anything else than the server address (and this was all that was needed for N900).
This really is a kind of showstopper as the MfE is the most important productivity tool for me. I have no reason to believe MfE would not work in some other combo, but seems like I am getting nowhere here.

  • Migrate Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013, Need to defined win 7 users logon to Exchange 2010 & Win 8.1 users logon to Exchange 2013

    Hi,
My organization have few win 7 and windows 8.1 clients. Now I want to migrate exchange server 2010 to 2013. And I don't want to remove exchange 2010 from the organization. Because I want to connect win 7 client through exchange 2010 and windows 8.1 user
connect to exchange 2013. Is there any way to define the win 7 users to connect to exchange 2010 and Windows 8.1 users to connect to exchange 2013?
    Md. Ramin Hossain

The client connections are proxied to the mailbox servers that hold the mailbox.
You would need to have 2010 MBX servers with the mailboxes for the XP users, and 2013 MBX servers holding the mailboxes for the 7 users. And of course, the appropriate CAS servers.
Realistically, you need to migrate away from Windows XP. It is no longer supported.

  • VF01 tansaction Kurrf (Exchange Rate) need to change  as enable

    Hi all,
I need to change the Kurrf (exchange rate) for VF01 and Vf02 as enable.
Can u please suggest me how can i do this.
    Regards
    Madhu

    Hi Madhu,
    there are two options here.
One is by using the SHD0 T.Code by entering the valid values in the screen variant.
Second one is Press F1 on the field and check for technical information.
Check the program name and screen number.
Goto T.Code SE51,enter the program name and screen number in that.
Check the layout and in the field you requested there you can find in the layout.
Click on the field and go to attributes where you can make it as editable or inputtable text box.
    Regards,

  • E1000 Constant Resets Needed and Humming Power Adapter

Nearly every day, or recently more often, I need to restart my E1000 router.  I have a cable ISP, a wired connection to my desktop, a smartphone, Xbox 360 and laptop on wireless (although usually not at the same time).
What happens is that after some time, it will still show me connected to the router, but it will lose the connection to the Internet.  Unplugging the router and plugging it back in will restore the connection.  This has to be done at least daily, many times more often.
Possibly related to this issue is a humming power adapter.  It is a very low hum that of course goes away every time I unplug it or turn off the surge supressor.  It is possible that these two issues are related, as it may be sending too much/too little/fluctuating power to the router causing it o crash or lose the connection.
This may have been happening since I got the router, but I simply had not noticed it since up until recently I had always been plugged in to my UPS which I had turned off each day.  Had I noticed this, I would have returned it to the store.

I think you can try to reset the router and reconfigure the router. If you still face the same problem then it might be the issue with the power adapter then.

  • IPod Touch - Songs don't play and hard reset needed to turn on

I had not used my iPod touch in about a month.  It was on the dock during that time.   I have two problems.  One is that I keep having to do a hard reset to turn it on.  Second is that once it is turned on (and it indicates there is a full charge) iTunes will not play any of the songs selected.  I select, the app appears as though it will begin playing the song, but then stops as soon as the song begins and reverts back to the selection screen.  After a few minutes of this, the iPod goes dead again.  Is this a battery issue?  If so, can it be fixed and is it worth the $$ to fix?

Yes it sunds like a bad battery.  I would mak an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store to verify.  Apple will replace the battery for $79.  A third-party place like this one is less expensive.  Google for others.

    hi,
I guess you didn't get the CMOS setup correctly. Just "Load Optimized Default" and Save and Exit. Don't change anything else. Does that work?
If not, "Load BIOS Setup Default" and see.
    tried that
if i enter bios setup and exit without changes it will boot.
it seems that every effort to do any changes in bios results in black screen.
and i have to reset Cmos

  • IPod meter won't reset, need help!!!!!

I have completely cleaned out my library and all music files on my iPod, but it still says I am using half of my iPod storage. (8.79 out of 19GIGs) I have rebooted, shut down and still every time I plug in my iPod, it reads half full. Can anyone tell me how to get my meter back to zero?

This seems to happen from time to time. I have not read a good explanation, but I suspect that the iPod's operating system isn't the best at memory management.
These are the ‘standard’ fist steps to this type of issue:
First, make sure that you have emptied the Recycle Bin or the ‘Trash’ when the iPod is connected and seen by the computer.
Then try Resetting Your iPod to correct this problem. It may take several attempts.
If that does not solve the problem, then Restore Your iPod and reload the music back onto the iPod, from your iTunes.

  • Airport Mode Reset Needed

    Hi folks.
Recently I've been having some issues with my iPhone 4.  When I leave home, or change from WiFi network to another network, or just to 3G, I have to reset the networks by switching into Airport Mode, to tweak the wireless modems.
Is there something I can do to make this thing work properly?  I've done a couple hard resets but it doesn't seem to want to fix anything.
Any advice appreciated.  I haven't been able to find anything regarding this in the forums here.
    Cheers

Is there anyway to load the orginal software back on the Express without being able to connect to it?
    No
Have you tried temporarily connecting via Ethernet to the AirPort Express (AX) to configure the AX?
