Export from higher APEX version to lower version

Hello,
Is there anyway to export an application from APEX version 3.0? Oracle 11G to version 2.2? Oracle 10G? Any help greatly appreciated.
Sharon

Bharat,
When 3.1 is released, say early 2008, you can make your decision based on the information in the Release Notes and related collateral which should provide a useful synopsis of new features.
The database version you select is an independent decision.

  • Table export from higher version

    Hi,
I have two database servers one on Oracle 10.2.0.3.0 -- 64bit and the other one in Oracle 9.2.0.4.0
I have a table in 10.2... and I want it to be exported to 9.2.... I know that exports from higher version could not be imported with lower version. How can I do this?
I have not yet tried to import with 9.2 so I don't have any error messages.
    Thanks,

Well, you already got answers for this one. Just adding the relevant topic from the Utilities manual.

  • Crash in "Export" from SQL Developer  Version 2.1.1.64

    Hi,
Did a quick search and didn't find anything on this forum about this problem: any help

I was using a slightly older version of Developer to dump out a file (via Tools->Database Export)

I hadn't upgraded the version for a while, so a quick "Check for Updates" revealed a more modern

The only thing I can think of as being a problem is that the table in question (one of three small tables
I am exporting) has a CLOB column in it and some data in there is HTML format.
If anyone has a workaround, or I can elaborate further, please don't hesitate to drop me a reply.
    Thanks
    Mungo Henning

Many thanks for the "heads up".
I did take a look at the export file and inside it any CLOB's data
that has an apostrophe in it is not escaped.
Some of my CLOBs have HTML in them: if I had to answer the question
"Enter value for nbsp" once, I had to do this several times (the HTML had the
element for non-breaking-space whose sequence is ampersand-nbsp so
with the Defines on it asked me for a value for this substitution variable... sigh).
Looks like my problem has gone away for other reasons (the hosting company have
volunteered to migrate the data), but I wonder whether the SQL Developer
team know about this issue or not.
    Thanks again.

  • Does anyone know how to export from the latest version of iMovie?

I don't see an option to export anymore. Trying to get the movie from iMovie onto a flash drive so I can put it on another computer and burn a DVD. (My new mac doesn't have a DVD/disc space.)

File - Share - file  then Next - and choose the destination.
You need to study the help files because a lot has changed (see: http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.0/#move6e0cb2ad)

  • Premiere Pro CS4: Exporting to High Quality SWF with Low File Size

Adobe Program: Premeire Pro CS4 (to build slide show video)
Adobe Program: Adobe Media Encoder (to export project into flash file)
Project Details: A 20 minute slide show with still images and audio.
Project Source: HDV 720p, 29.97 fps
Objective: Export slide show into a flash file so it can be watched online. The file must be small enough for most people to be able to stream the video but good quality (like videos found at Hulu.com).
Problem: I'm struggling to find an export setting that will let me maintain both good quality and a small file size.
The export setting that allows the best quality is:
    Format: FLV / F4V
    Preset: F4V - HD 720p
    File Size: 800MB
Troubleshooting History: I have tried the following Presets:
    F4V - Same as Source
    F4V - 1080p Source, Half Size
    F4V - 720p Source, Half Size
    F4V - 720p Source, Half Size, VBR 2pass
F4V - Web Large, Widescreen Source
While the file size is much reduced with these Presets, I lose too much video quality.
Inquiry: Does anyone have advice for meeting my listed objective?

I understand that if you want a smaller file you must sacrifice quality and if you want better quality you must expect a larger file size. I am looking for a solution in between the two extremes (again, I draw on the example of Hulu.com). Mainly, I am looking to reduce the file mentioned above from 800MB to about half that.
Does anyone know a way to manipulate the export settings to make that possible and still maintain as high a picture quality as possible?

  • APEX version release notes

    Hi!
Where can I find all the release notes from all APEX versions?
I would like to find all the differences between 3.2.1 and 4.2.2 versions...to see which funcionalities that I have in the latest version will be missing in 3.2.2.
    Regards,
    Ivan

    Hi Ivan,
You'll find all of the Release Notes for all of the versions of APEX via the Documentation tab on our OTN page: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/documentation/index.html.  On this page you'll find a link to the most recent Release Notes.  For all of our previous releases, you'll need to click on the Documentation Archives link, and then drill down to the respective version in order to view the associated documentation.
    I hope this helps.

  • Moving transport from Lower ERP Version to Higher ERP Version?

    Hi All,
I got a quick question regrads to Transporting object frpm ERP 6.0 SP 13 and ERP Ehp 4.0 SP 3.
Currently, We went Go-live with ERP 6.0 with SP13, as part of Release 1 Landsape.
    ECD ---> ECQ --> ECP
For release 2, which is starting in few months, we are planning to Build a Project Landscape seprate from Support landsacpe.
    ECD --> ECQ
       |                  -
    >     ECP
    E2D --> E2Q
    2 = Release 2 SID name
Our Support landscape will be on ERP 6.0 with SP 13
and Project landscape we wanted upgrade to ERP 6.0 ehp 4.0 with SP 03. To keep the landscape consistent, whatever work we do on ECD (R1 lanscape), we would like to import to R2 E2D as well, so when we Go-Live with R2 implementation, then our DEV and QA systems will be consitent.
My Question would, can I move/transport object from R1 (lower ERP version) to R2 (higher ERP version)?
My answer is BIG-NO, since version and objects are differenent, all transport will fail.
I want to hear what you Experts say about this?
    Thanks in Advance

    Can you
Edited by: Kumar Subramaniam on Jun 5, 2009 7:25 AM

    Hi,
As per your query it can be moved but you will face some issue in this, there are two type of trandport 1. workbench 2. customizing. If you want to move customizing then your abaper will check this will be transport, but workbench will have some issue due to variotion of verion. But you transport this in your new dev server and do the configuration again in new dev serve then test in your qac. The job is very tipical but its posible.

  • FAQ: How do I migrate my saved presets from an earlier version of Photoshop or import/export them?

You now have the option to migrate presets from a previous version, export presets and to save to a directory as a zip file (great for instructors).
Preset Migration migrates your saved presets, not your preferences. The message says "Would you like to migrate presets from the following versions?"  It simply carries on the preset files you have already saved (things like Brush Tips, HDR Toning presets, Curve presets, Styles etc.)  to CS6.
HOW TO USE PHOTOSHOP CS6 AUTOMATED PRESET MIGRATION
Photoshop CS6 offers the great new functionality of automated preset migration for your custom presets from Photoshop versions as far back as CS3.
When Photoshop CS6 launches for the first time, it checks for previous installations of Photoshop on the computer to see if there are custom presets that need to be migrated. Photoshop looks in each of these presets folders for your saved custom preset files that it can migrate.
Preset migration script copies all the files in user preset folders of older versions. If there are more than one preset files with the same name, presets from the newer version will be given priority. These types of presets will be migrated by the script:
3DLUTs, Actions, Black and White, Brushes, Channel Mixer, Color Books, Color Swatches, Contours, Curves, Custom Shapes, Deco, Duotones, Exposure, Flash 3D, Gradients, HDR Toning, Hue and Saturation, Levels, Lighting Effects, Lights, Materials, Meshes, Optimized Colors, Optimized Output Settings, Optimized Settings, Patterns, Render Settings, Repousse, Scripts, Styles, Tools, Video, Volumes, Widgets, Zoomify, and Workspaces
If this is not your first launch and you would like Photoshop to look for presets,
Choose Edit > Presets > Migrate Presets
When Photoshop notices that you have custom presets saved in their appropriate folders it will give the message "Would you like to migrate presets from the following versions?"
Choose Yes. Photoshop will begin the preset migration script.
When the migration has completed Photoshop will pop up another message saying:
"Preset files from older versions successfully migrated"
In order to use your newly migrated presets, you must restart Photoshop.
If you had Photoshop CS6 beta installed and have saved custom presets, you will need to export those presets before uninstalling the previous version and installing the release version of Photoshop CS6.
    HOW TO SAVE PRESETS
For PS, check that you have saved all your presets using:
Edit>Preset Manager... (in previous versions) Edit>Presets>Preset Manager... (in CS6)
HOW TO IMPORT AND EXPORT PRESETS
    In the main PS menu,
    Choose Edit > Presets > Export/Import Presets
In this dialog you can export the presets and then import them when you load the new version using the same Export/Import dialog.
If you have gone through the automated preset migration and notice that some of your presets didn't get migrated with the rest, make sure you have exported your presets to their default folders.
    PRESET FILE LOCATIONS:
(Note that there are two different folder locations for presets, one for application provided default presets, and one for user created preset files)
These are the presets that are unique to each user on the computer. These can be migrated automatically: (this is the location that the user should save their personal presets in)
    Windows:  Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Presets
    Mac:  Users/[Username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Presets
These are the default presets that ship with Photoshop.  These presets can be imported but will not copy over using the migrate feature because each version of Photoshop will install defaults for that version.
    Windows 64 bit:
        [Hard Drive]:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Presets
    WindowsXP and Windows7 32 bit:
          [Hard Drive]:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Presets
    Mac:
        [Hard Drive]/Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Presets
    Frequently used preset filename extensions:
    ABR  Brush preset
    ACO  Swatch preset
    ASL  Style preset
    ATN  Action preset
    CSH  Custom Shape preset
    GRD  Gradient preset
    PAT  Pattern preset
    SHC  Contour preset
    Here is a helpful tutorial:
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-photoshop-cs6/preset-migration-and-sharing/

Do you have an  iPhoto Library from the old machine? If you have then simply open it - there's no importing involved.
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
If you don't have an actual library there is no way to do what you want.

  • I am trying out Final Cut Pro X and trying desperately to import a project from iMovie 11 (version 9.0.9). There is no export to FCPX in iMovie 11 nor is there import from iMovie in FCPX.

    Can someone please help me?
I am trying out Final Cut Pro X on a 30 day trial. So far so good.
I am now trying desperately to import a project from iMovie 11 (version 9.0.9) into FCPX.
I have read multiple posts on this subject and they all recommend File/import/ from iMovie project in FCPX
However there is NO such option under File/import in FCPX - nor is there an option to export to FCPX in iMovie 11
    Can anyone please enlighten me.

The current version of FCPX does not work with that version of iMovie. You need version 10.0.3, which allows you to send a project to FCP.

  • Unsuccessful export from trial version of CS6 InDesign to EPUB

I'm  hoping it's because I have a trial version of InDesign. When I export from InDesign to EPUB 2.0.1
I'm following instructions from this video, but all I get is an empty file. No error message, just the blank file.
I'm trying to test how anchors work for layout in an ebook.
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/creative-suite-podcast-designers/how-to-maintain-formatting-when -exporting-your-epub-from-indesign-cs6/
Is it because it is the trial version? I'm hoping so, but if not, any thoughts on what am I missing?
    Thanks in advance,

You need to learn more about creating EPUB files. You also need a real EPUB reader.
You can download Adobe Digital Editions for free:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/digital-editions.edu.html?promoid=DTEIO
It reads EPUB files. iBooks is OK but there are reasons it may reject a file which is a perfectly valid EPUB file.
I'd suggest Liz Castro's EPUBs about creating EPUBs in InDesign:

  • Exported an "Apple TV" version and my 700mb file doubled in size?

Based on a recommendation on these boards I bought QT Pro. This was because I had a 700MB AVI file that I needed to add chapters to. I was able to open the file and go through the process to add the "text" chapters. Worked fine. But when I exported to an ATV version of the file using the default settings, it went from being a 700mb file to being a 1.6gb file. Wow!
I'm a novice to this but I'm blown away by the jump in size. I'm wondering if I need to take a different approach to make it retain the chapters but be smaller in size.
Is this size normal? What are my options?
    thanks much

Size = bitrate/sec X # seconds. The original files size has ZERO to do with it especially when you are transcoding. The original LENGTH does.
IIRC AppleTV spec is 5mb/sec equal to a decent quality DVD.
Use a lower bitrate. A higher bitrate than the source (which is clearly the case) won't improve the quality anyway - you cannot add bits that were not there. And H.264 is an impressive quality codec that can look great a lower bitrates.
Try exporting to iPod , only 700 kb/sec or iPhone/Touch specs at 1400 kb/sec vs. Apple TV, see if you like the quality.
Tip, select *one minute* of your source with some movement and test that by exporting the minute with various settings (iPod, iPhone, etc.) . It takes less time and you can see the results sooner. Then to figure out the total size just multiply that one minute file size X # minutes the original is in total. Note I never use the presents and use the manual settings instead, and frankly I rarely use QT Pro for this preferring the free MPEG Streamclip instead which is alo worth a try.
One other note: some codecs (WMV is the best example) are compressed and when you export them even without reencoding, e.g. using Save As to make a MOV file they double in size since in the WMV container they are compressed and only expand on playback. In the MOV container the uncompressed video is in the container for keeps.
A final note, video is expressed in kb or mb/sec which is kilobits or megabits/sec. 8 kilobits = 1 kilobyte, 8 megabits = 1 megabyte, which is important to know as file sizes are always expressed in KB/MB vs. kb/mb.
