Export plugin - forcing specific image size

Hi - I'm trying to change the sample FTP upload plugin so that it does not give the user the option of setting an image size but instead forces a maximum height and maximum width of 675 pixels. I've figured out how to hide the 'image settings' option in the export dialog but have gotten nowhere with trying to enforce the image size.
I have added this into FtpUploadServiceProvider.lua but it doesn't work:
    updateExportSettings = function( exportSettings )
    exportSettings.LR_size_maxHeight = 675
    exportSettings.LR_size_maxWidth = 675
    end,
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found that I had to schedule a new export session in order to have new export parameters take effect - or I least thats what I did and it worked. I have a web plugin that schedules a separate export for each size: thumbnail, + bigger, ... Dunno if there's a better way.

The package includes four simple rules to follow when making Photo Collage Template PSD files so they will be compatible with my Photoshop scripts.
Size the photo collage templates for the print size you want - width, height and print DPI resolution.
Photo collage templates must have a Photoshop background layer. The contents of this layer can be anything.
Photo collage templates must have alpha channels named "Image 1", "Image 2", ... "Image n".

How to print specific image size?

Hi Gang - how do I print a 11x15" image onto 13x19" photo paper? At first it seems easy, but things aren't making sense. Here's what I did:
I exported the photo and used the LR image resize dialog area to 11x15" - easy.
I imported the exported image (assuming the image was 11x15") and then went to the LR print area - this is where the confusion begins.
The print tab shows the image dimensions as 8 x10.19 in. Help, how do I make it the 11x15" I need it to be?
I understand that I'll need to adjust the image to get the portion I want into the 11x15 space, but for now, I can't even get the size to 11x15".
I tried custom package options, but no luck there.
I do have Canon's Print Studio Pro plug-in which works great. Except, once again, I don't know how to instruct it to print the image dimension 11x15" on the 13x19" paper.
Fiddling with settings, I printed a dozen attempts, and still no luck achieving 11x15" image size on the 13x19" paper. For now, I'm OK with the image getting cut off or other skew - baby steps - I need to learn how to make the image print 11x15" image size.A

Brain: generally intuitive, but need help on this question!

The first step in the Lightroom Print module is to click the Page Setup button, select your printer, and then select the paper size. From your screen shot it looks like the correct paper size hasn't been selected yet, because you said you wanted to print on 13 x 19 inch paper, but the paper on screen is only 8.5 inches wide. My guess is that Page Setup is still set for US Letter size paper, and that you should go back to Page Setup and change it. After you do that, if your Layout Style is set to Single Image you should be able to set the Cell Size to 11 x 15 inches.

Printing different & Specific image sizes on a 17x22 contact sheet. pls...

I'd like to print some specific sizes on one sheet of 17x22 paper (3800) as not to waste paper. So I'd like to print a 8x10, several 3.5 x 5 etc on one sheet if possible but cant figure it out.
Oh, These would be different images on the same print.
can anyone please guide me?

In Photoshop, use File > Automate > Picture Package
Consult the Help files.
If none of the existing (preset) templates suits you, you can edit or create a new one in any text editor.
If you have InDesign, it can easily be done there, of course.

Setting the image size?

How would I set a specific image size to my photo, not an aspect ratio, but a specific image size such as 8"X9" ? I need this feature when I shoot tethered and have the specific size of a layout to adhere to an want to make sure my crop fits the layout perfectly, Thanks

Jim gave you the RIGHT answer on how Lightroom works with crop size but if you want to see a 8x9 box on the screen you can create an overlay and then you will not have to have the crop tool turned on.

Sorting photos by dimensions or image size?

Has anyone heard of or found a way to do this? I have upward of 10000 images and I need to sort out the ones that meet a certain minimum pixel dimension. A smart folder would be sweet.
Any help is appreciated.

I created some custom Keywords in Preferences>Keywords for specific image sizes, then went through my library and assigned the Keywords to the corresponding images using Photos>Get Info (or Cmd-I). It's time consuming, but you can select multiple images and assign a Keyword to all of them at the same time to speed things up. Once you're done you can create Smart Albums and use the Keywords as criteria. Hope that helps!

Photoshop CC (15.1) Generator - image size

Is there a way to use a transparent image to force an image size? I can get it to work if I use an almost transparent
(100% opaque layer and only 1% fill color opacity, but this isn't what I want. I'd like to be able to force the image to be a particular size
Use case: An icon is 48 pixels and a non uniform shape and it needs to live on a toolbar. I want to center it visually in a square, and have it maintain a 52 x 52px size.

Yeah, agree regarding the mask "workaround", why not just offer to use the exact SO size. I am thankful for this so far, just something for the future hopefully. There is a lot potential in this feature.
I am using an extensive amount of SO's in my current file (<30) and the mask workaround feels a bit clunky.
(Off topic: I also wonder why all the slices are generated every time again, although they haven't been changed. I am currently using a file that generates ~100 slices. Regenerating everytime I save slows my PC down. )

Export works not correct in LR5.3; ignore image size.

BUG: The export works not correct in LR5.3 When the field "Dont enlarge" are activated Lightroom ingnores the settings of image sizing and export the pictures in original size. Where can fix it?

Another option, if you're not into using plugins (Exportant) to fix:
Export in 2 groups - those needing resizing and those that do not (e.g. using lib-filters or smart-collections):
* Export those needing resizing normally (but with "don't enlarge" unchecked).
* Export those not needing resizing without resizing.
I mean, re-installing Lr5.2 may be a fine-enough work-around, but so ya know: Lr5.4 is likely to be out soon, with problem fixed...

Hitting a specific file size when exporting from Flash CS5

I need to export three banners to .swf from flash and they all need to be under 61K. They all use photographs and are 5-7 seconds long each and the dimentions are 300x250 px, 300x600 px & 728x90 px. Is there any way I can put in the specific file size in the program and make it under 61k? I tried using the publish settings and lowering the quality and even at 40% quality the file size only went down 20KB from 147 to 127. If you cannot do that in the program is there any third party programs that can be used to do this? Thanks for your help!

What you should do is set the Publish Settings to generate a size report. That way you will have a detailed listing of what each element of the design contributes to the file weight. I would guess that the images are going to be the heavy hitters, so you might need to use image software to optimize them as much as possible before importing them into Flash.

Kindle Export plugin No image resize

Hi there,
I do all my formatting in inDesign and export to ePub or mobi using the built in ePub export or the Kindle export plugin from amazon.
I've pretty much got the whole ePub thing sorted out but have come across a problem when it comes to exporting the mobi file. If i have images in the book they all seem to do their own thing with regards to size. I find that most of the images scale down and display a lot smaller than i would prefer on the kindle.
I've tried playing with the export settings, optimise vs original vs formatted, not formatted and nothing really changes. Also i've physically change the size of the image in the inDesign docuement and still, no change.
I'm hear as a last resort before I lose my mind. Anyone out there that can help?

The advise I got from the Kindle people when I had the same issue was to use Images/Copy Images/Original. Remember that users will have the ability to zoom out the images.

Why jpeg file exported from Aperture with 300 dpi's it opens with 72 dpi's on PS ( image size)? I've tried several combinations and all give different results. And I am confused on what is the best workflow for me.

My workflow is
RAW > Aperture Library > export jpeg high resolution 300 dpi's > one file on PS > edit > Save us jpeg. The I realised that files from PS were being save in a smaller size from the ones exported form Aperture. That is when I went o see <image size> on PS and files were with 72.
Since ten I've trying different things
1. Aperture > export as PSD > open on PS > edit > Save us jpeg = small file (around 15 MB)
2. Aperture > export as jpeg high resolution 300 dpi's > open on PS > CHANGE dpi's to 300 on <image size> edit > Save us jpeg = big file (Huge, actually)
What am I doing wrong? Would someone give me guidance and tell me what is the best workflow, considering I edit photos to deliver to my clients and I shall give them 300 dpi's.

Adobe Bridge - Export - Manual Scale - Image Size Option

I would like to use Adobe Bridge to export a batch of images to a fixed height (e.g. 400px) where the width is dynamic. There are other software programs that would give me this option, but It would be wonderful if this "small feature" could somehow be added to adobe photoshop.

I was surprised that this was in Photoshop and not in the Bridge, but that is ok.
I was not allowed to leave the width blank, nor enter -1 or 0 for variable. I worked around it by using a width that was so large, it would never be used because the maximum height would be used. For example width: 9000, height: 400.
Unfortunately in Photoshop scripts, there seem to be no method to override the image proportion so that I could force a thumbnail of 400 wide and 300 high.

I shoot RAW with a 5d mark2 I export from lr to cs3 in my workflow. I am wanting to create a gallery wrap at an image size of 24x36, when I go to create my negative space my exported image size from Lr is only 8x12, why would that be? I don't know what to do or how to make my image larger without loosing quality? I have never noticed this before? Why is it doing this now?

It will be the settings in your export menu.

Keep exported image size in HTML as shown in PDF

I have many inline formulas (imported from Word file via using mathtype) in PDF article made by ID. But when I export the articles as HTML, the images for formulas become much larger than shown in PDF version. How can i keep the exported images to the same size as they are shown the PDF file? I know I can edit the html file to specify image size, but that is the ideal work flow.

If i'm getting you right. you have the formulas placed as the images.
So, to keep the size fixed, In HTML export Options in image tab keep the image size as fixed.

Transparency problems when I distort Pdf image size (ie: 100%x99%) then Export. Is there away to fix

I sometimes have transparency problems when I distort PDF image size (i.e.: 100%x99%) then Export. Is there away to fix. Or at least be able to preflight and know I have an issue.

Mostly I have seen borders and drop shadows that will just go away or other wise not print right but only when I distort the image and only on very complicated large PDF images. When I print it at same % both horz and vert. this problem goes away.
