Export to Excel after ATG 12.1.3

Hi Y'all...
Have another question for all of you.
We're in the process of upgrading one TEST instance to ATG 12.1.3 (for support policy adherence) - and find that after the completion of all steps fro teh ATG 12.1.3 upgrade, that the 'Export to Excel' functionality that used to work on the non-upgraded instance, now does not work i.e. it does not export to Excel - instead it exports to notepad/wordpad.
Is there a profile option that I should be re-setting for this to go back to 'old' behavior?

Thank you all for all the suggestions - I don't know which one to mark correct/helpful - because now it seems that this/was an issue with the desktop of the person who was doing the testing. You do not have to do, just mark the thread as answered.

Experts -- I'm curious if anyone has encountered issues with longer running exports to excel from Web Analyzer after they upgraded to BW 7.3 and/or migrated to BW HANA?
We have encountered a very elusive issue with our users running into this issue where the export either hangs or returns a series of error messages. OSS has not been of help as the issue is unable to be consistently reproduced.

Hey Sebastien - Thank you for the response. I work with Justin and can provide the additional information here:
By export what we mean is that users running BEx reports from our web portal are clicking on the 'Export to Excel' button and it is taking an extremely long time. This is happening even when the report result set is relatively small. We never had any issue prior to the upgrade.
There have been a few error messages reported, but this "Open Dialog" error is the most frequent.
We are very familiar with the 500,000 cell limit and these error are taking place on report output well below that limitation.
These reports do not use hierarchies.
Prior to 7.3 we were using 7.0 EP1 SP7
We appreciate any help or suggestions.

ALV Export to Excel after Upgrade to ERP2005

Hi Guys and Gals,
We have a bespoke ABAP report which prior to the upgrade to ERP 2005 created an ALV list and from the menu list, we could select: -
List --> Export (we then had the following options):-
Word Processing
Spreadsheet
Local File
Additional Function of SAP Query
XML Export
However, after the upgrade only Local File and XML Export are selectable all the rest are grayed out and therefore <i><b>not</b></i> selectable. The code never changed before or after the upgrade.
Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like it could be a Basis issue to me. Check with them first. I haven't come across this problem myself so I could be wrong.

Can't export to Excel from SAP after upgrade

Hi there,
We couldn't export to Excel after upgrading SAP from 2007B PL15 to 8.81 Pl07.
We tried all workstations as well as server itself and encountered below error upon exporting to Excel.
"AutoOpen.xls cannot be accessed. The file may be corrupted, loated on a server that is not responding, or read only."
Microsoft Excel Folder under "General Settings >> Path tab" has been defined.

Web App Designer Export to Excel - Issue

Hi Gurus,
I was able to sucessfully configure export to excel feature in WAD. However the issue we are encountering is, we have a button which runs a script function, this manupulates data in some columns of the report. So when I perform export to excel after the script function is excuted, the export gets the old state of data and not the data after the script function is run. Is there are way to fix this issue. Please advise.

WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) is not supported on Export to Excel.
If you are using some script AFTER data comes to screen, you will NOT see the effects on Excel.
This is documented in the note:
1178857 - Additional information: Export to Excel functions

Crystal Report Export To Excel Error: "Error detected by Export DDL"

I have a windows application in .Net 2003, whenever i export the crystal report on my development machine or other windows xp machines it runs smoothly, but when i deploy the application on client's machine having windows vista installed, it displays error of "Error in file........., Error detected by export DLL"
pls help me.

First thing to look at is the wiki [What versions of Crystal Reports are supported on Windows Vista in VS .NET?|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=64259646].
Note that CR 9.1 is not supported on Vista. And if CR 9.1 is not supported on Vista, any earlier version of CR will also not be supported on Vista. That is not to say the app(s) will not work, they may - or not. You never know... and we have no experience with these types of installs as we don't need to have it.

Finally, If this app works on a Vista box when a VB 6 app is not installed, compare the dlls loaded between that box and the one that has both apps. Use [Modules|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252802008E/modules.zip] to do that.
Other than that, only suggestion I have is to upgrade to a version of CR that does support Vista.

When do export data , the values of varchar2 column (of oracle) it automatic changes
Eg.
the value in oracle (varchar2(100) is --> 205013113452
when do export to excel it's change to ---> 2.05013E+11

create a view with the order of colums that you want to see in excel and export to excel after selecting that view now you will get the excel columsn with format you like .

After Export to Excel File error while opening using xmlwriter in silverlight

Can one help me in fixing following issue after to export to excel had done iam getting following error message
"The file you are trying to open, 'test.xls', is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do uou want to open the file now ?"
If i click Yes file opens correctly but it shows above message . Can any one suggest me how to avoid this programatically with the following code.

i have the same issue now where i need to populate the xport file name as report name. can you send me your solution please.

RDL reports(2008).File name after using Export to Excel is not comming properly in mozilla firefox.

I am using Export to Excel functionality in rdl report.
File name should be "Profitabilty By Buyer". It is working as expected in IE and chrome.
But in mozilla firefox the file name appears as "Profitabilty".
So the issue is it doesnt consider anything after space and user requirement is such that I cant put underscore("_") also instead of space.
Kindly suggest the proper solution.

Reporting Services, we use a Web browser to view the report that deploy to Report Service. However, not all report functionally is supported by all browsers. Such as, the print button is not supported in Mozilla Firefox. It works only in Internet Explorer
due to it uses ActiveX for the print button.
I have tested it on my local environment, (SQL Server Reporting Services 2008, Firefox 28.0), we cannot reproduce this issue. So the issue can be the custom setting of your browser. Since SSRS reports are not about targeting NON-IE browsers, so in your scenario,
we recommend you use IE to view report on Report Manager.
And you said that you cannot put underscore ("_") also instead of space. However we can do this which you can see on the screenshot below.

Export to Excel is not working for List View Web Part after filtering using Query String parameters in SharePoint 2010

I am filtering SharePoint list view web part based on Query string parameter and I am doing Export to Excel by using following code.

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to create hyperlink to export to excel.
The URL to execute the export is as follows:
{Site URL}/_vti_bin/owssvr.dll?CS=109&Using=_layouts/query.iqy&List={List GUID}&View={View GUID}&CacheControl=1
After getting the GUID, you need to “decode” the list GUID.

Drill Down is not working after exporting to excel

Hi,
I have created a drill down report in SSRS . Its working perfect. But when I export it to excel, it is showing only the expanded nodes. But I want the same functionality which gives user to expand or collapse the nodes in Excel as well. Can any one please
help me with this?

Per my understanding you are experiencing the issue with the excel report which have add the drill down action, after export to excel only the expanded nodes included and the collapsed nodes is not shown, right?
Generally, if we expand the nodes before export to excel then the excel will display the expanded details row and keep collapsed the details row which haven't expand, but we have the toggle "+","-" on the left of the Excel to help
control the expand and collapse, when you click the "+" you can expand the collapsed notes to see the details rows.
I have tested on my local environment with different version of SSRS and can always see the "+","-" as below:
On the Top left corner you can find the "1","2", this help to control the "Collapse All" and "Expand All".
If you can't see the "+","-" in the excel, the issue can be caused by the Excel version you are currently using, and also excel have limit support of this, please provide us the Excel version information and the SSRS version. You

Export to Excel issue after upgrading to IE11

Our organization recently upgraded our Internet Explorer browser from 8 to 11 on Win7, still in pilot phase.
One of the issues that we are currently experiencing is that after the upgrade the Export to Microsoft Excel is no longer functioning as expected. This was working fine on IE8.
What happens now on IE11 is that when you select a table on a web-page and do an Export to Excel, a new window pops up and the address bar stays blank with just http:/// and "Page cannot be displayed" error. What's seems to be happening is that for
some reason, it is not populating the address bar with the URL.
Anyone experienced similar issues and got a fix? Much appreciated.

Export to Excel not working after upgrade to IE10

I upgraded to Internet Explorer 10. In PWA Export to Excel does not export the data. It starts up Excel but the sheet is blank. Worked fine with IE9. How to fix?

Use the below workaround so that clicking the export button will work similarly to how it does with previous IE versions and such.
1. Open the Windows registry editor (regedit32.exe) and take a backup of the registry
2. Go the location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\excel.exe
3. Here, you’ll see a string value named “useURL”
4. Rename this value to something else. For example “useURLx”
Post this change, you should be able to use the Export to Excel functionality. When you click the button, you’ll get a message from IE asking if you want to Open, Save or Save As the XLS file and you can choose Open. You’ll then see the “normal” prompt
within Excel about whether or not you want to open the file even though the contents don’t match the file extension.

Printing problem in Excel after exporting from Deski report

Hi ,
When I export desktop intelligence report and try to print that report it prints excel column and row numbers. Is there way where we can disable printing column and row numbers before exporting to excel. Problem occurs only when we export to excel from deski. Just printing from excel we can disable printing excel column and row numbers.Please any one answer my query

Not sure if this can be changed within DeskI options, but it can be changed within Excel. Go to File, Page Setup. In the Sheet Tab, there is "Row and Column Headings" check box in the Print section... deselecting this will stop these being printed.... I'm using Excel 2003...
