ExportDataObject fails: "invalid action object"

Simple operation: I have a help file attached to the main PDF form.
All I want to do is open it once upon opening of the form.
I call the below function from the init procedure in the main form, but it fails.
What am I doing wrong ? The file name is "Test Help File.pdf".
function OpenAttachedHelpFile(pszFilename)
/* Open the attached help file unless it's already open */
  app.beginPriv();
  var oDoc;
  if ( !IsDocOpened(pszFilename) )
    try
    { // now open the attachment in a temp folder
      oDoc = this.exportDataObject({cName: pszFilename, nLaunch: 2}); // always reference the parent document; 2=launch in system temp folder
    } catch ( e )
      ShowError(e.message + "\c Path was \'" + szFilePath + "\'", 0);
    try
      oDoc = app.openDoc({cPath: szFilePath, bHidden: false});
    catch ( e )
      app.alert('Error in app.openDoc: \'' + '\'' + szFilePath + e.message);
  return oDoc;  // return a reference to the help file
  app.endPriv();
app.trustedFunction(OpenAttachedHelpFile);

re:"Have you put this script in the startup folder?"
Absolutely.
I even tried using the openDataObject method to get the path of the attachment (which is specially encoded),
and then open it with openDoc. That failed on a security error.
Something strange is occurring here.

  • Acrobat 8 Standard: "There was an error opening this document. Invalid action object."

    Hi,
    Acrobat 8 had been working on my computer previously, up until this morning. Now any time I try to open a pdf, I get the error, "There was an error opening this document. Invalid action object." I can't get any pdfs on my computer to open, including pdfs that I know work as they opened fine last week. I don't think I've had any updates done to my computer over the weekend. Any ideas why it now doesn't work?

    Open Acrobat and go to HELP>Repair and see if that helps. After the repair, you may also want to do HELP>Updates.

  • ExportDataObject invalid action object

    Hey Guys, I hope you can help me.
    Reader Version: 11.0.08
    I use the following function:
    function test()
         app.beginPriv();
         t = app.activeDocs[0];
         var d = t.dataObjects;
         t.exportDataObject({cName: d[0].name, nLaunch:2});
         app.endPriv();
    The function is a trusted function. ExportDataObject triggers a popup, which says the following (translated from German):
    There was an error opening the document. Invalid actionobject.
    The function is called via Openaction
    cheers

  • "ORA-20001: Invalid action CREATE on this object. (U)"

    I have a page where data are inserted in my procedure.
    <br>This procedure assign "PXX_ID" which is a key from that table.
    After that I use "Automatic Row Processing (DML)" with check only on UPDATE", to fill other fields that are not filled in my INSERT procedure. This process is defined with "PXX_ID" which is reassigned (not as it was when page was submitted - before my insert).
    <br>SAVE process, which is only calling this DML is working perfectly. My procedure is inserting new record also. But together they are not working. What I want is to use this process for changing data (SAVE button) and for INSERT part also.
    <br>Now I get this error "ORA-20001: Invalid action CREATE on this object. (U)"...any help on this?
    <br>If problem is that I'm reassigning value of "PXX_ID" then please let me give some hint how to make this if possible using DML processes...
    <br>If the solution is to put all fields in INSERT part and use this DML only for changes, let me know. All I need is some hints to understand more this error!
    <br>P.S.
    <br>I have tried to recreate new process ... but no help.
    <br>P.S. II
    <br>I cannot sent app on WORKSPACE (too much work to do)...but I can send page export.
    <br>THX!

    This is caused because you have only checked the UPDATE option in the Automatic Row Processing(DML). By unselected the other options you are basically saying they aren't allowed. In order to get around this you need to put a conditional clause on the process. I would use something like if rowid = null then use my insert process. If rowid is not null then use the Automatic Row Processing(DML).

  • Invalid tincan object name

    I am trying to stream video from a Flash Media Server using
    AS3. I am getting an error that I cannot figure out. In my
    NetStatusEventHandler I am getting event code
    "NetStream.Play.Failed". The error is: "Invalid tincan object name
    (stream ID: 1)" This means absolutely nothing to me and I have been
    unable to find any documentation on the meaning of this error.
    ISSUE RESOLVED: I was including the filename in the
    netconnection.connect method's URI
    NOTE: I have also posted this in the Flash Media Server forum
    as I was unsure where this question best fit.

    Glad that you figured it out. Here are a couple of things
    that could help in the future. It would have helped if you had
    posted the code you were using. Somebody would probably have seen
    something like that right off.
    The other thing is that it is helpful if you don't edit
    posts, but rather make a new one. Folks who use Newsreaders on the
    forum don't see the edits.

  • Invalid DataStore object name error when running process chain after EHP1

    Hello,
    We recently upgraded our BW Dev platform to NW7.01 EHP1 SP6. I noticed that the layout for "Delete PSA Request" process in the Process Chain has changed after the upgrade. We can no longer specify the actual PSA table to delete eg, /BIC/B0001645. Instead we need to specify the Datasource name and the Source System.
    Now after the upgrade when I run one of my process chains, it fails at "Delete PSA Request" step with error message "Invalid DataStore object name /BIC/B0001645: Reason: No  valid entry in table RSTS". This datasource is based on the flat file source system and the PSA table for this Datasource is /BIC/B0001653.
    Unfortunately the process chain is picking up an older PSA table for this datasource and there is no way for me to specify the current PSA table name after this change in layout with EHP1 upgrade. Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue.
    Many Thanks,
    Al

    Hi,
    Please implement OSS 1345331.
    If this does not help try the below steps:
    1.  Run the report 'RSAR_PSA_CLEANUP_DIRECTORY/_MS' in check mode for a
           particular PSA table for finding the inconsistencies.
    2.   After that please analyze the logs and if there is any problems related to partition, you need to correct them using the report u2013
    3.  'SAP_PSA_PARTNO_CORRECT' in repair mode for the
          PSA tables.  Run the report again after this
    4.  'RSR_PSA_CLEANUP_DIRECTORY/_MS' in check mode to
         double check that the invalid partitions are
         corrected.
         Once this is done you can execute the report
         'RSR_PSA_CLEANUP_DIRECTORY/_MS' in repair mode.

  • FR error:  *Error: invalid report object*

    Hi All,
    When we run the report we are getting error "*Error: invalid report object*. It is for one specific entity at the base level for some user's. Other user's can able to view the data at that leve. All the user's have same level of access. can someone help......
    Thanks in advance.
    Moh

    You are most likely getting this error because you have a report object trying to reference a value out of a datagrid or a POV that doesn't have any data for the given entity.
    When you run it for an entity with data in the grid, everything works great. When you run it for an entity with no data, the datagrid essentially doesn't exist and references to it will fail with the error you have shown.
    A good example of this is when you have a header and you pull parts of the header from a grid such as showing the scenario, etc. To do this you reference a row (or column) from the datagrid, etc.....

  • Getting Invalid Registry Object while uninstalling plugins programatically

    When a specific condition is hit (while the user is trying to open our perspective), we uninstall the plugins using the below code:
    Platform.getBundle(<Bundle name>).uninstall();
    When we run this code on Juno 4.2.2, we are hitting the below exception. This same code was working well in Indigo and other earlier releases. Is there a possible step we need to perform before the uninstall? Any help soon will be appreciated.

    Thanks Thorsten for your hint. We tried closing the perspective and it works half way. We did the following to close the perspective before uninstalling the plugins
    IWorkbenchWindow w = PlatformUI.getWorkbench().getActiveWorkbenchWindow();
    if (w != null) {
    IWorkbenchPage wp = w.getActivePage();
    if (wp != null) {
    IPerspectiveDescriptor[] p = wp.getOpenPerspectives();
    if (p != null && p.length > 1) {
    wp.closePerspective(p[p.length - 1], true, true);
    After this change, we get back to the perspective we were in before we tried to change perspective and plugins got uninstalled. However when i try to bring up the perspective window again to check if the uninstalled perspective is not visible, i hit the Invalid Registry error again. Below is the trace.

  • Parse Failed: Invalid Definition (UNV0023)

    I have a universe based on a BEx query. The BEx query uses formula variables as filters which the users must enter values for when running the report. If I build a report in WEBI based on this universe I get no issues. The filter variables prompt comes up whenever I refresh. However, if I parse the filter object in Universe Designer I get the following error:
    Parse Failed: Invalid Definition (UNV0023)
    The WHERE statement for this filter is:
    <OPERATOR VALUE="AND"><OPTIONAL><FILTER KEY="[!V000003]">
    <CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="Equal">
    <CONSTANT CAPTION="@Prompt('Percentage Commission to Manager (%)','N',,mono,free,,{10})"/>
    </CONDITION></FILTER></OPTIONAL><OPERATOR VALUE="AND">
    <FILTER KEY="[!V000002]"><CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="Equal">
    <CONSTANT CAPTION="@Prompt('Dual Rate','N',,mono,free,,{6})"/>
    </CONDITION></FILTER><FILTER KEY="[!V000001]"><CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="Equal">
    <CONSTANT CAPTION="@Prompt('Single Rate','N',,mono,free,,{3})"/></CONDITION>
    </FILTER></OPERATOR></OPERATOR>
    Here you can see we have three variables, V000001, V000002 and V000003, which have default values and will prompt the WEBI users with the following texts:
    'Percentage Commission to Manager (%)'
    'Dual Rate'
    'Single Rate'
    Can I ignore this or is there a better way to define the filter?

    Hi,
    You have added default values in @Prompt: default values and static values must always be enclosed with single quote even if the data type is numeric.
    <OPERATOR VALUE="AND">
         <OPTIONAL>
              <FILTER KEY="[!V000003]">
                   <CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="Equal">
                        <CONSTANT CAPTION="@Prompt('Percentage Commission to Manager (%)','N',,mono,free,,{'10'})"/>
                   </CONDITION>
              </FILTER>
         </OPTIONAL>
    </OPERATOR>
    <OPERATOR VALUE="AND">
         <OPTIONAL>
              <FILTER KEY="[!V000002]">
                   <CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="Equal">
                        <CONSTANT CAPTION="@Prompt('Dual Fuel Rate','N',,mono,free,,{'6'})"/>
                   </CONDITION>
              </FILTER>
         </OPTIONAL>
    </OPERATOR>
    <OPERATOR VALUE="AND">
         <OPTIONAL>
              <FILTER KEY="[!V000001]">
                   <CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="Equal">
                        <CONSTANT CAPTION="@Prompt('Single Fuel Rate','N',,mono,free,,{'3'})"/>
                   </CONDITION>
              </FILTER>
         </OPTIONAL>
    </OPERATOR>

    I am getting below error while publishing reports from BW to BO.
    "0000000001 Unable to commit the changes to Enterprise. Reason: Failed to commit objects to server : #Duplicate object name in the same folder."
    Anyone having any solution for this. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Amit
    It would be great if you could add a little info about how you solved this issue. Others might run into similar situations - I just did:-(
    Thank you:-)

Ifeel miserable after trying out all the options changed multiple sims, tried multiple carriers, restored the phone back and have set-up as new device but the problem does not get solved... its is so frustrating that after investing on a world's most expensive phone you cannot enjoy the calling features which the phone offers which is the main thing you own the phone for.. Rest of the things are working.. The funniest part I am not able to make calls or receive calls but can access the internet..  I have tried every possible thing and really very frustrated with this iphone of mine...I hope the problem gets solved.. would anyone have any solutions to this problem.. Does it mean one should never update software as I hear that after updating to IOS.5.1 the problem has started coming and same has been with there.... Apple says its a hardware failure which is very difficult to digest as sometimes I get 5 bars and able to make and receive calls but 95% of the time I am unable to. If anyone has any solution I will be very happy if he or share can share the same. Many thanks. its so disgusting to experience this on top of this apple does not support global warranty for the phone as you need to go to the country from where you bought the phone for replacement.. Truly sad state of affairs.. very very very dissappointing.
