  • All CS2 apps crash with "Read Only Memory Exception" error.

    Machine Specs.
    Apple G5 1.8ghz DP
    OS X 10.4.10
It doesn't matter which one I open, they all crash with the same error. This started when a user placed a support ticket for their mac not starting up. I wasn't able to save the user so I created a new user, and then moved their desktop files over to the new user. However the only files I moved were those on the desktop, and their Notes data directory.
Thinking my job done I marked the tickets closed and walked away.
I got a call later when the user came into the office and the issue was that Indesign CS2 was crashing with a "Read Only Memory Exception" error. I first deleted the Preferences on the machine. That didn't work.
So I created a new user to see if it was the user causing the errors. I received the same error when opening Indesign CS2 from the brand new user account. I also tested all other CS2 programs and got the same errors.
Next I tried deleting the CS2 programs and re-installing them. No luck, same error, even with a new user. I have not re-installed any plug-ins with the new App installs yet.
Removed all fonts, and ran a font cache cleaner. Same error.
Finally, the last thing I've tried is to manually remove every adobe application on the machine. Acrobat 5/6/7, CS1, CS2...etc. I have also removed any Adobe files/folders in the //library/, and /$home/Library/.
Yet I still get the same error. Short of a complete wipe I'm not sure where to proceed next. I'm really confused and hoping someone can give me some clues.

Thanks to a comcast permissions error any new files I upload to my comcast.net pages requires the administrator username/password to even see the file to download it. Simply giving out the URL for new files results in page not found errors.
So for the forseeable future I don't see any way to upload this file correctly. Its there on my webspace all 63megs of it. If I login through the FTP account I can upload and download to my hearts content but since anonymous access is disabled I'm not giving out my administrator login info.
I've got a gig of space, using 22mb of it, and can't upload any more files because no-one has permissions to access them.
I spent a half hour on the phone with comcast trying to figure this out. However I don't know whats going on with their end. I have a trouble ticket open for a level 3 tech, we'll see whats going on.
So the Font Scrubber will remain unavailable for the time being unless someone wants to give me guest upload access to a FTP account. I'm not opening a fileshare account with anyone, don't like'm.

  • [partially solved] Root mounted as read-only, lots of errors

I started my laptop without the power cord, and the boot stopped at several steps. I could continue the boot with pressing the power button for a second. XFCE booted fine, but some things were broken. Then I rebooted, and I cannot boot to xfce anymore at all (with or without power cord), since the root is mounted as read-only, and other partitions are not mounted at all. I didn't change my system at all so it is difficult to fix the problem. Now when I boot I just get lots of errors due to the read-only root partition. Fstab should be okay since it worked before, and has not been modified in months.

It seems that laptop-mode remounted the partitions as read-only, because of bug in laptop-mode(?). I disabled that daemon, and now boot works. After that I can boot normally even with laptop-mode daemon, but now I'm afraid of booting without the power cord as that can break the system..

  • Read-only input field error

I have an input field marked read-only on a form.  When I run the application, select the read-only field, press enter, then Save (validating action), I get a WebDynpro exception saying that I attempted to modify a read-only context attribute.  This does not happen if I select the field and press other keys (such as characters)...  only when I press enter.  If I make the field disabled (instead of read-only), this error is avoided because I cannot even select the input field - but I would rather use read-only because it doesn't gray out the field at runtime.  Is this a bug, or am I missing something?
    -Dave

When you select the inputField and press enter the OnEnter action of the inputField is being called.
When you disable the inputField it prevents you from entering values as well as accessing it actions also.
When you try to keep you context attribute as read only and keep the input field as enabled it is similar to trying to modify a read only attribute which is not permissible.
    Hence the error.
    Revert for further clarifications.

  • BUG? JBO-25059 in extended read only VO

I have a read only VO with setManageRowsByKey(true) in create method and two attributes as key attributes. findByKey works.
I've extended VO and the new one VOExtended is throwing exception in findByKey:
WARNING JBO-25059: View Object VOExtended has ManageRowsByKey turned on, but its key definition is empty.
VOExtended has the same two attributes marked as key attributes.
    Is it correct behaviour?
    Rado

    Timo,
    Thanks for your reply.
There's a Key Attribute in the VO, which was set by JDev when I was creating it with BCs from Tables wizard.
I have added the call to setManageRowsByKey(true), but that hadn't helped.
    Yerzhan.

    Hello Gurus,
I am in the phase - Connect Diagnostic Agent of the Solman_Setup for Solman 7.0 EHP1.
I don't have any managed system connected yet.
When I try to attach the SMD agent in the SLDAgentCandidates screen...I get two messages as detailed below:
2011.04.13 20:14:12, Managing System 'SL1.SystemHome.sol' is  registered in the SLD, Customization of Managing system settings is disabled but it is not a problem to attach the agent.
2011.04.13 20:14:12, Attach operation is disabled in READ ONLY MODE. The current logon user is not a member of Administrator
Please what am I doing wrong because I even gave full authorization (SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW) to user SLDAPIUSER and i have also tried with a few user accounts wilth full authorization like J2EE_ADMIN and my SOLMAN administrator.

    Hello John,
You get the ead-only message because your connected to the local SLD. You need to connect to the productive SLD.
But the other message (Customization of Managing system settings is disabled) I get also. Did you solve it already?

MOS-01235 Module function getInfo of module CIA0smount failed.

    I have the same problem.
I bought my machine with Vista preloaded. I installed Windows 2003 on it. - using a fresh 2003 Enterprise Server Windows 2003 disk.
Now, While installing the SAP R/3 4.7x, I am getting the same error. Do you all think that I should add the permissions to SAP id's and then try. I am doing all the work as the system administrator. I also gave full permissions to all the drives. But one thing I did not do is to create partitions.
    I have C: Drive and H Drive.
I installed my Windows 2003 on H drive and I now want to install SAP on the C drive. Would that be a problem.
    Here are my details:
    Machine: 2003 Enterprise
    RAM: 5 GB ( Yes, It is 5 )
    Hard Drive: SATA RAID Intel
    Partitions: C: ( 220GB) and H: 10GB
    Database: Oracle 9.2.1 with patches
    SAP: 4.7x
I keep getting the Access denied error all the time.
    Please help.
    SAPuser.

    Hi dazzerrc,
If you had an issue during a software update of your iPhone and you are now seeing a icon screen directing you to connect to iTunes, you may find the following article helpful:

  • Totally frustrated, I have downloaded, erased and redownloaded new adobe reader but keep getting error because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctl

please comment with any suggestions... thanks jeannette

to clarify, I have read the suggested "fixes" and I suspect this has to do with updated version, should I just try and try to download older version. I have talked to librarian (I used pub med and google scholar regularly for my academic med job) and she felt it was not a digital media licensure upgrade issue. If I erase adobe altogether the file reads as a simple pdf. Please help as I like adobe's feature and would like to continue to use it, thanks! jeannette

  • Time Machine  Read Only Error

My time Machine started throwing an error today: Files cannot be copied onto the backup disc because the drive appears to be read-only.
I've found some info on this forum where people suggest to delete the sparsebundle, but when I go in FInder to TimeMachine >> Shared Items, there are no sparsebundle files to be found. I'm running the latest 10.8 release and TM is on an external USB disk.
    Any ideas?

I just installed Leopard and tried using Time Machine on a new Seagate FreeAgent Pro external drive that I formatted with Disk Utility to be read/write. Time Machine says it's read-only. "Get info" in Disk Utility says it's "writeable," but "get info" in Finder says that it's "read/write" for me, but "read only" for "(unknown)" and "Everyone." Did I somehow not configure the external hard drive correctly when I used Disk Utility to partition the external? I see Apple Help says, "The disk used for backing up must be in the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format, and must have Access Control Lists (ACLs) enabled." I selected "Extended (Jounaled)," but I don't see where to choose "Access Control Lists (ACLs)," nor does Disk Utility's help menu recognize "access" or "ACL."

Have you checked what your guard status is set to?
SQL> SELECT guard_status from v$database;I've had a similar issue before but with a standby, whereby the status was set to ALL. This means all users apart from SYS are unable to make changes on the database.
My resolution was to set the status to standby:
SQL> ALTER DATABASE GUARD STANDBY;You may wish to set the guard status to NONE however.
    I took some notes:
http://juniororacledba.wordpress.com/2011/07/17/oracle-logical-standby-dataguard-error However, I do not have a link to any Oracle documentation on the subject to hand. But might give you a head start.
