Extracting math equation from applet.
http://www.saltire.com/applets/advanced_geometry/area_theorem_executable/area_theorem.htm
I need to find the equation they are using in that applet to find the area of PQR. I tried downloading the class file and opening it up in JCreator, but it's all messed up.
Any help?

MLRon, I used Heron's formula to get the area of the triangle connecting the centers of the circles. But now I have to find the area of the triangle connecting points of tangency.
http://mathworld.wolfram.com/t1img218.gif
Using the left diagram in the picture as a reference... I need to find a way of solving the area of triangle CaCbCc, if given the radius of the three tangent circles.
Using Heron's formula, I can solve area of ABC, but my goal is to prove the ratio of the two triangles to be
2pqr/(p+q)(p+r)(r+q) , when r,q,p are CaCbCc

Download and extract jar file from applet
Can any one provide me a solution for my below problem. Thanks in advance for all the suggestions.
I want my applet to download a jar file, extract into users home directory by creating a folder and then set the created folder to java library path.
My applet html file is in "root" directory. The applet is included into applet.jar and placed under "lib" directory which is under "root" directory.
Now i also had another jar file(contains dlls what I packed) under the same lib folder.
The below is the following directory structure in my server.
root ---
|
|
default.html
lib--
|
|
applet.jar - contains applet related classes
native.jar - contains dlls which are to be loaded
When a client downloads my applet, it should copy the native.jar and then extract into a new folder under user home directory. Then set this folder to java library path.
Regards
raman kumarI managed to do it this way, Just remember that you need to sign the jar files for your applet, else it won't work.
package jar.extract;
import java.io.File;
import java.io.IOException;
import java.io.InputStream;
import java.util.jar.JarFile;
import java.util.zip.ZipEntry;
public class JarExtractor {
// Dll file in the jar
private static String JAR_FILE = "dll.jar";
public void extract() {
try {
JarFile jf = new JarFile(JAR_FILE);
// Entry in the jar file rember package and dll file
ZipEntry ze = new ZipEntry("package/dll_file");
int length = (int) ze.getSize();
byte fileContent[] = new byte[length];
InputStream fin = jf.getInputStream(ze);
fin.read(fileContent, 0, length);
// CODE missing.
// You need to write the input stream (fin) to a new files output stream
// it is like copying a file !!!
} catch (IOException e) {
e.printStackTrace();

How can I extract an integer from a TextField?
I wrote my code for my multiplications tables program, and it compiles fine. However, when I go to run it, it throws some exceptions because of the line where I try to extract the integer from the TextField.
This is my code.

Accessing RS232 Port (Comm Port) from Applet
I have an interesting "problem". I would like to create an applet that allows me to read the Comm port of the client machine but obviously I get a security exception when I try to do this. Firstly is this possible (I know it can be done from an application)? If so, how would I go about doing it?
Thanks,
Rishiyou need to install the jre, and place the win32.dll at JavaSoft\JRE\1.3.1_06\bin, that properties file place at JavaSoft\JRE\1.3.1_06\lib, comm.jar at JavaSoft\JRE\1.3.1_06\lib\ext\

and yet u need to signed the applet
1. Compile the applet
2. Create a JAR file
3. Generate Keys
4. Sign the JAR file
5. Export the Public Key Certificate
6. Import the Certificate as a Trusted Certificate
7. Create the policy file
8. Run the applet
Susan
Susan bundles the applet executable in a JAR file, signs the JAR file, and exports the public key certificate.
1. Compile the Applet
In her working directory, Susan uses the javac command to compile the SignedAppletDemo.java class. The output from the javac command is the SignedAppletDemo.class.
javac SignedAppletDemo.java
2. Make a JAR File
Susan then makes the compiled SignedAppletDemo.class file into a JAR file. The -cvf option to the jar command creates a new archive (c), using verbose mode (v), and specifies the archive file name (f). The archive file name is SignedApplet.jar.
jar cvf SignedApplet.jar SignedAppletDemo.class
3. Generate Keys
Susan creates a keystore database named susanstore that has an entry for a newly generated public and private key pair with the public key in a certificate. A JAR file is signed with the private key of the creator of the JAR file and the signature is verified by the recipient of the JAR file with the public key in the pair. The certificate is a statement from the owner of the private key that the public key in the pair has a particular value so the person using the public key can be assured the public key is authentic. Public and private keys must already exist in the keystore database before jarsigner can be used to sign or verify the signature on a JAR file.
In her working directory, Susan creates a keystore database and generates the keys:
keytool -genkey -alias signFiles -keystore susanstore -keypass kpi135 -dname "cn=jones" -storepass ab987c
This keytool -genkey command invocation generates a key pair that is identified by the alias signFiles. Subsequent keytool command invocations use this alias and the key password (-keypass kpi135) to access the private key in the generated pair.
The generated key pair is stored in a keystore database called susanstore (-keystore susanstore) in the current directory, and accessed with the susanstore password (-storepass ab987c).
The -dname "cn=jones" option specifies an X.500 Distinguished Name with a commonName (cn) value. X.500 Distinguished Names identify entities for X.509 certificates.
You can view all keytool options and parameters by typing:
keytool -help
4. Sign the JAR File
JAR Signer is a command line tool for signing and verifying the signature on JAR files. In her working directory, Susan uses jarsigner to make a signed copy of the SignedApplet.jar file.
jarsigner -keystore susanstore -storepass ab987c -keypass kpi135 -signedjar SSignedApplet.jar SignedApplet.jar signFiles
The -storepass ab987c and -keystore susanstore options specify the keystore database and password where the private key for signing the JAR file is stored. The -keypass kpi135 option is the password to the private key, SSignedApplet.jar is the name of the signed JAR file, and signFiles is the alias to the private key. jarsigner extracts the certificate from the keystore whose entry is signFiles and attaches it to the generated signature of the signed JAR file.
5. Export the Public Key Certificate
The public key certificate is sent with the JAR file to the whoever is going to use the applet. That person uses the certificate to authenticate the signature on the JAR file. To send a certificate, you have to first export it.
5: Export the Public Key Certificate
The public key certificate is sent with the JAR file to the whoever is going to use the applet. That person uses the certificate to authenticate the signature on the JAR file. To send a certificate, you have to first export it.
In her working directory, Susan uses keytool to copy the certificate from susanstore to a file named SusanJones.cer as follows:
keytool -export -keystore susanstore -storepass ab987c -alias signFiles -file SusanJones.cer
Ray
Ray receives the JAR file from Susan, imports the certificate, creates a policy file granting the applet access, and runs the applet.
6. Import Certificate as a Trusted Certificate
Ray has received SSignedApplet.jar and SusanJones.cer from Susan. He puts them in his home directory. Ray must now create a keystore database (raystore) and import the certificate into it. Ray uses keytool in his home directory /home/ray to import the certificate:
keytool -import -alias susan -file SusanJones.cer -keystore raystore -storepass abcdefgh
7. Create the Policy File
The policy file grants the SSignedApplet.jar file signed by the alias susan permission to create newfile (and no other file) in the user's home directory.
Ray creates the policy file in his home directory using either policytool or an ASCII editor.
keystore "/home/ray/raystore";
// A sample policy file that lets a JavaTM program
// create newfile in user's home directory
// Satya N Dodda
grant SignedBy "susan"
permission java.security.AllPermission;
8. Run the Applet in Applet Viewer
Applet Viewer connects to the HTML documents and resources specified in the call to appletviewer, and displays the applet in its own window. To run the example, Ray copies the signed JAR file and HTML file to /home/aURL/public_html and invokes Applet viewer from his home directory as follows:
Html code :
</body>
</html>
<OBJECT classid="clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93"
width="600" height="400" align="middle"
codebase="http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/1.3/jinstall-13-win32.cab#Version=1,3,1,2">
<PARAM NAME="code" VALUE="SignedAppletDemo.class">
<PARAM NAME="archive" VALUE="SSignedApplet.jar">
<PARAM NAME="type" VALUE="application/x-java-applet;version=1.3">
</OBJECT>
</body>
</html>
appletviewer -J-Djava.security.policy=Write.jp
http://aURL.com/SignedApplet.html
Note: Type everything on one line and put a space after Write.jp
The -J-Djava.security.policy=Write.jp option tells Applet Viewer to run the applet referenced in the SignedApplet.html file with the Write.jp policy file.
Note: The Policy file can be stored on a server and specified in the appletviewer invocation as a URL.
9. Run the Applet in Browser
Download JRE 1.3 from Javasoft

Read equations from word document programatically
hi
its too difficult to problem i think but soluation is there.
i want to read equations from word document using java. i was tried in xml prser also ,there i can 't find the equation format.
any body tell me how to extract equation from word .Everyone that has posted that you have 2 problems is absolutly correct, you will have to use some 3rd party product to read the file, or make your own MS-Word decoder--a task for which MS itself has problems doing reliably between versions. You could set up some DDE or OLE via Java/C and Excel... have fun it that is your choosen path, you'll want to talk to them in the JNI forum on how to get started there.
As far as parsing, you have to be able to identify the formula, is it an Excel formula? If so, then you have to be able to copy the formula, it does not show as text in cells. If it is not a formula, but just text in a cell, then copy it into a String in Java.
Now you have the String, use String.split or other tokenizer to break the String appart, and then you have to process the tokens. Nobody here is going to write the front end of an interpreter for you to process your sting into appropriat logic and tokens.
The task you embark on is not one of triviality, but can be done. The real question is: "Is it really worth it to you?" Only you can answer that. If you need refernce material for parsing--look up discussions of language, compiler, and interpreter development--most of the ones I've run across have excellent discussions on parsing and tokenizing. -
Unable to extract the data from ECC 6.0 to PSA
Hello,
I'm trying to extract the data from ECC 6.0 data source name as 2LIS_11_VAHDR into BI 7.0
When i try to load Full Load into PSA , I'm getting following error message
Error Message: "DataSource 2LIS_11_VAHDR must be activated"
Actually the data source already active , I look at the datasource using T-code LBWE it is active.
In BI on datasource(2LIS_11_VAHDR) when i right click selected "Manage" system is giving throughing below error message
"Invalid DataStore object name /BIC/B0000043: Reason: No valid entry in table RSTS"
If anybody faced this error message please advise what i'm doing wrong?
Advance thanksECC 6.0 side
Delete the setup tables
Fill the data into setup tables
Schedule the job
I can see the data using RSA3 (2LIS_11_VAHDR) 1000 records
BI7.0(Service Pack 15)
Replicate the datasource in Production in Backgroud
Migrate Datasource 3.5 to 7.0 in Development
I did't migrate 3.5 to 7.0 in Production it's not allowing
When i try to schedule the InfoPakage it's giving error message "Data Source is not active"
I'm sure this problem relate to Data Source 3.5 to 7.0 convertion problem in production. In Development there is no problem because manually i convert the datasource 3.5 to 7.0

Passing values from applet using POST method to PHP page
Hello there ;)
I realy need a help here.. I`ve been working all day on sending mail from applet. I didn`t succeed bcs of the security restrictions.
So I decided just to pass arguments into PHP page, which process them and send e-mail to me.
So here is the problem.. I need to send String variables througth POST into my php page. Now I`m using GET method, but I need more than 4000 characters.
My actual solution is:
URL url = new URL("http://127.0.0.1/index.php?name=" + name + "&message=" + message);
this.getAppletContext().showDocument(url,"_self");I really need to rewrite it into POST. Would you be so kind and write few lines example [applet + php code]? I`ve already searched, googled, etc.. Pls don`t copy links to other forums here, probably I`ve read it.
Thanx in advance to all :)hi!
i`ve got some news about my applet.. so take this applet code:
public class Apletik extends JApplet {
public void init() { }
public void start()
try
String aLine; // only if reading response
String parametersAsString = "msg=ahoj&to=world";
byte[] parameterAsBytes = parametersAsString.getBytes();
// send parameters to server
URL url = this.getCodeBase();
url = new URL(url + "spracuj.php");
URLConnection con = url.openConnection();
con.setDoOutput(true);
con.setDoInput(true); // only if reading response
con.setUseCaches(false);
con.setRequestProperty("Content=length", String.valueOf(parameterAsBytes.length));
OutputStream oStream = con.getOutputStream();
oStream.write(parameterAsBytes);
oStream.flush();
String line="";
BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(con.getInputStream()));
while ((aLine = in.readLine()) != null)
JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, aLine);
if(aLine.equals("")) break;
in.close();
oStream.close();
catch (Exception ex)
JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, ex.toString());
}here is code of spracuj.php which is on server:
<?php
if(isset($_POST['msg']))
echo('hurray!');
?>it has only 1 problem.. when i test it on my localhost, everything seems to be all right. but when i post it to my server, i got IOException HTTP 400 error code :( where is the problem? please help me, i`m so close :D thanx -
I am trying to use photomerge compose. I open one standard jpeg image and one image that is my business logo in a png format. When I select the png image, to extract the logo from it, it appears as all white and will not allow me to select the logo from it. It has worked in the past but I downloaded the update today and photomerge will not work correctly. Any ideas?
hedger,
How do you expect anyone to help when we don't know a darned thing about the file, abut your setup, exact version of Photoshop and your OS, machine specs, etc.?
BOILERPLATE TEXT:
Note that this is boilerplate text.
If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand,
such as your platform (Mac or Win),
exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CS6", but something like CS6v.13.0.6) and of Bridge,
your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
the type of file you were working on,
machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
what error message(s) you receive,
if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
etc.,
someone may be able to help you (not necessarily this poster, who is not a Windows user).
a screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too.
Please read this FAQ for advice on how to ask your questions correctly for quicker and better answers:

Extracting .xls file from an FTP site
Hi there,
I'm trying to run a DI solution that is extracting a file from a FTP site. DI can see the file but it gives me an error saying that:
FTP could not transfer file <FTP site/myfile.xls> from host <IP Address>: <>. Please ensure that the FTP relative path for the SAP R/3 working directory is set correctly such that the data file is accessible to the FTP
Can someone please help with this.
Thank you.
GsecureHi,
thats SP1 for DS XI 3.2
I think there is no delta from XI 3.2 to XO 3.2 SP1 what means you have to do a fresh install and upgrade repo.
But you better doublecheck before but i think there is no delta.

2LIS_03_BX- Initial Stock/Material stock
2LIS_03_BF - Material movements
2LIS_03_UM - Revaluations/Find the price of the stock
The first DataSource (2LIS_03_BX) is used to extract an opening stock balance on a
detailed level (material, plant, storage location and so on). At this moment, the opening
stock is the operative stock in the source system. "At this moment" is the point in time at
which the statistical setup ran for DataSource 2LIS_03_BX. (This is because no
documents are to be posted during this run and so the stock does not change during this
run, as we will see below). It is not possible to choose a key date freely.
The second DataSource (2LIS_03_BF) is used to extract the material movements into
the BW system. This DataSource provides the data as material documents (MCMSEG
structure).
The third of the above DataSources (2LIS_03_UM) contains data from valuated
revaluations in Financial Accounting (document BSEG). This data is required to update
valuated stock changes for the calculated stock balance in the BW. This information is
not required in many situations as it is often only the quantities that are of importance.
This DataSource only describes financial accounting processes, not logistical ones. In
other words, only the stock value is changed here, no changes are made to the
quantities. Everything that is subsequently mentioned here about the upload sequence
and compression regarding DataSource 2LIS_03_BF also applies to this DataSource.
This means a detailed description is not required for the revaluation DataSource.

Export to Excel via list:
Select save and Excel 2007 opens automatically:
That said, the method outlined above works perfectly fine if you want
the report immediately. Now let go back and run the exact same report
with exceptoin of running it in the background and having to retrieve it
from the Spool (SP01) uisng my user ID. Given the report generated in
the background, I would now access the report via the spool and make
the following selections:
SP01 + execute to see my report
I would hit the sunglasses to see the actual report, then want to
extract this report to Excel by selecting the export option.
I would at this point select spreadsheet and be given an option to save
the spreadsheet to local file. However, upon trying to open the
spreadsheet I will receive an error messageindicating that the format is
different than that which the file I am currently trying to open it
with. I'm currently running Excel 2010 on my computer. The currency
format and other issues arrise with this extract. Please help.

Use List -> Export -> Spreadsheet to get the output to excel.
I remember in ALV max length allowed is 1023 characters and the max no of columns supported is 90. Issue occurs when row size of exported data gets more than 1023 character. (This includes if Long/Medium Header Text used ) If it exceed 1023 character the columns splits and moves to next row.
Check your fieldcatog for header lengths.
