Extremely unhappy with service. broadband at 0.23...

I can't believe how bad the internet has been since I moved into my new home.
It's been almost a month now and my broadband won't go past 0.234 mps.  I've rang tech support several times but to no avail.
I've tried every suggestion, changed equipment, added filters, removed all extra phone lines etc etc and still no-ne seems to want to sort it properly.  Tech support told me it was a problem with their line and it would improve after they fixed it but it actually got slower and is almost unusable at moment. I was then told it is a problem at my end.
I think it's embarrassing to be honest and I think it's best if I get moved from Bt as soon as I can, I can't work at home like this, it's causing problems for me and my customers.
Anyone else had anything similar?

  • Extremely unhappy with pre install service

I moved house in August and decided to go for the fibre upgrade as it was available in the new property. I was given an install date almost 6 weeks after order which was quite a bit longer than I wanted but it was the first available so I agreed. ON the install date the engineer didn't turn up, I called BT and they couldn't give me a reason for this and when I told them I was unhappy with the service I was offered £10 credit and a priority install date which was to be rearranged the next day. Imagine my surprise when I received a text message with an expedited date 3 weeks away! I called and waited in line again to get my install date brought forward, I thought this was a reasonable request considering I had already waited 6 weeks. The call centre guy advised me that I had to cancel the order which would allow him to open a new one and move the date forward, this would take 24 hours. I foolishly agreed and received an email the next day with my new install date....... only 5 days later than the one I had just cancelled. I am so unhappy with the level of service I have received I want to cancel the whole lot and go with another provider. Does anyone know how I can speak to someone who can give me some information and get this resolved?

  • Extremely Unhappy with FM2-A85XA-G65 Raid setup

I was going to setup a Raid5 array on my new FM2-A85XA-G65 but it seems to really be an unusable mess. I have updated to latest 1.7 Bios and got no improvement. I am loading Windows Server 2012 Essentials on this machine so UEFI is a must and there for Legacy Raid is out. There was supposed to be an improved way to set up an UEFI Raid 5 array in this new BIOS but I don't see squat. Setting the Legacy Raid seems to be the only way to get into the board's Raid setup but as I said that is a none starter. I had read elsewhere that the 1.7 Bios allowed UEFI Raid setup from the Bios menus (which is how it should be with a board boasting easy graphical UEFI setup) but there appears to be no such thing.
Extremely unhappy and thinking of returning this board. I've currently setup the Raid5 array using the Windows Server 2012 and it seems to work fine but I assume the motherboard based Raid would have significantly better performance, correct?
How much better performance should the motherboard based Raid be, and has anyone got Windows 2012 Server to load on Legacy Raid?
Is anyone using AMD Raid Expert with this Motherboard's native Raid setup?
Is the new Storage Spaces feature in Windows Server 2012 a better option than Raid5?

Is there any other way to fix it?
Not without a Trinity cpu. Alternatively ask reseller or MSI to flash it for you.
    Quote
For example: can I get an old FM1 CPU from a friend to test it?
Of course not. You need a FM2 cpu. FM2 and 1 aren't compatible.
    Quote
And what can you tell me about the memory?
Will it work on this board?
Those sticks are ment for Intel systems (http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KHX21C11T2K2_8X.pdf) but they will most likely work with safe settings. Don't expect them to go anywhere near 2133. First that would be oc as your cpu's mem controller supports just up to 1866. Secondly because the ram is meant for Intel system's it might even with oc not work at the same settings/speeds it would work on Intel systems it is specified for.

  • Unhappy with BT Broadband anywhere mobile phones

    BT Broadband anywhere mobile phones
£210 to buy a HTC Hero or HTC Touch 2 for £107 for a secondary account
Oh and the tariff and prices dont apply for a secondary account
Strange this isnt mentioned in the terms and conditions.
What a letdown BT !!!, more business for another provider who offered me £10 a month for unlimited texts and no charge for a HTC Touch 2 handset in the end.
HTC Hero was £25 a month with unlimited texts

@Dodcobbler - no its not bad for a mobile phone.  How much data usage do you have?
Interesting sum to do is phone + usage (inluding data) +b b option 3 = ?
I dont think you can price these phones standing alone from the BB package that has to go with them.  IMHO it is that £ which is the salient point.  We kept ping-ponging that point back week after week last year prior to the news being announced, but the data usage and composite price in the round was never really taken up.  Neither was the second handset.  Neither was the lifting of 'bundling' legislation which now allows BT to offer a 'one stop shop' of BB, TV, landline + mobile.
They do offer a credit card though, which is very nice indeed.

  • Extremely unhappy with FCE.. what do do?

Hi I'm new here... I got FCE 2 weeks ago. I bought it also for other stuff, but for now and mainly for editing our video blog in a news style format. It uses many layers and filters, no HD material yet (my current camera does .avi only), animations from other software and music.
It all actually works, but I suffer from extremely long rendering times and not being able to actually preview the stuff.
The video blog is hosted on youtube, so I tried to find the best settings for that.
However, rendering a 10 minutes clip takes it 1-2 hours, a 40 seconds clip might take 15 minutes.... I can't really work like this, especially not when it needs to be as quick as news need to be.
I wonder why FCE can't do what much cheaper software can do, not to have to render for a preview.
I can't even tell you what settings I use since I find it quite a mess that FCE has 4 or 5 different setting menus. I am not a video expert, but iMovie or Premiere Elements are way too limited for me.
However, iMovie at least manages to actually let you preview your work....
so is Final Cut Express the right software for my needs? Quick work, flexible effects, youtube quality, several layers (I need more or less 10 tracks)? Or what am I doing wrong?

hi again, gonna try to give the missing information as detailed as possible.
Thing is, apart of the .avi films I also have some other formats in there.
Anyway... gonna answer in order of things being written.
Sorry if I don't know the exact translations to english with the menus / details, but I try my best (having the german version).

So, I am quite sure I did quite a mess there with my settigs It's all quite confusing for me but that's why I'm here.
To not have misunderstandings: I was talking about a Canon EOS 550D, no 55D.
Other files in my sequences are jpegs, and .mov with "animation", MPEG-4 and DV-PAL codecs.
I mix my camera's avis with pictures and animations of Bryce 5.
Anyway, I'm aware of the chaos, sorry for the mess

  • Extremely Unhappy With the Fair Usage Policy

Can someone please answer me this, what is the point of having a 20mbps unlimited connection when there is infact a cap of 100gb pm? It's such a rip off my blood is boiling!!!
I've gone over the limit apparently and had my internet connection butchered as a result. The assistant on the phone said it's a "slap on the wrist" I seriously thought what an unprofessional cow and wanted to tell her to f*** off if I'm honest. I don't expect such rudimentary terminology to be used on me when I'm a paying customer, it's outrageous.
Now I read the fair usage policy and find out why my BitTorrent speeds have been so terrible, even before the recent capping of my speed. On a well seeded torrent (2000+ seeders) in a fully port-forwarded uTorrent I am achieving 30KBPS. After midnight they improve but still only averaging around 300KBPS. They throttle P2P as part of the draconian policy! Use GLASNOST (google it) to see what horrible things they are doing with your P2P!
Can someone explain to me how you justify limiting a so called "unlimited" bandwidth at a rate that is only 60GB more than your capped packages? This is clearly false advertising and your fair usage policy is the worst I have ever encountered. Either this is resolved or you can forget it, I'm cancelling my subscription, you will not get another penny out of me, and you can take it up with my lawyer.

They say its not limited as you are only crippled during peak hours and can down as much as you like in the remaining hours **bleep**

  • Advice on Retina Display buy after unhappiness with 13" MBP

i am hoping to buy a new retina display macbook pro soon and would like to only get a 13" sized model but i was extremely unhappy with the performance of my 2009 13" which will be out of applecare warranty in about two months.
is there any way to get a handle on "how high" i have to go with my purchase and what to focus upon? i mean, i understand that i want to get as many cores as possible and that i want to get as fast a processor as possible and that the independent graphics card is on the 15" and not on the 13" but i really don't work a lot on my laptop all that much or all that intensively. OTOH, the current lappy is not so happy for some reason.
i have adobe creative suites 5.5 on my 2006 mac pro and i have parallels 8 and some CAD software that i need to use in windows on the mac pro but i really, really don't do a lot of work with my laptop and have still been quite unhappy despite putting a full 8 GB in this machine about a year or a year and a half into buying it.
is there a way to make an intelligent decision on where to spend my money on a new machine without being totally paranoid and thinking i have to buy the top of the line 15" with respect to all of the above options (and spending 3K on a machine i don't use very intensively)? i mean, i may go to a conference once every two years and want to work in CAD in parallels but other than that i am almost strictly on the Mac Pro for anything moderately intense.
fwiw, i would like to go with the retina display as it is the most current technology.
    TIA

Hardware does fail occasionally, but part of why I would take mine to an Apple Store would be for an opinion on whether the problem was hareware or software. Since it has been less than a year since your bought your MBP-R, it is still under warranty, just not eligible for free phone assistance. If you have neither an Apple Store nor a trusted repair facility available to you, that will make it tougher.
Do I understand you to say this only happens after it has been asleep for a longish time? You can keep it from happening by waking it up sooner or by shutting down when you expect to be away for a longer time? I'm not sure what that tells us, but it in interesting.
Do you by any chance have a bootable copy of your system on an external disk? Preferrably one that was made before you started experiencing the symptoms. If so, does the MBP-R present the same symptoms when booted from that copy?

  • Complaint: unhappy with level of service.

As with what is apparently a rather large number of people, I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I have been receiving from BT.
My broadband speed has never been even close to that which I am paying for, or even that which I am capable of getting around here.  Recently the speeds have started to fluctuate between a decent speed asnd whatever comes right before zero.  My Xbox Live connection constantly drops due to it hitting 0, and yes, I do have the port forwarding configured to allow the service to run.
I have contacted the help desk, who are about as trained and useful as my three year old nephew, or even his dog (case in point: whilst in an online chat, I was told to reset my router and that it 'would not drop the line')  I am repeatedly told to do the same things: reset my router, try the master phone socket, run speedtests, the works.  It even reached the point where I was phoning the helpdesk so oftne that I would pre-empt things by doing this beforehand.  I was still told to run these banal and pointless tests because the helpdesk staff were 'unable to proceed unless I did'.  They're following a **bleep** script.  And not a very useful one at that.
On no less than 3 occasions in the past few weeks I have been promised callbacks from the helpdesk staff, I give them my mobile number EVERY TIME, despite the fact that it should still be on file, and a time to call me back.  I am now still waiting on these 3 call backs, each one from a higher level of helpdesk staff, I'm fed up with having to wait for these calls which never happen.
None of my problems are am issue with my computer or operating system, as I am experiencing the same fluctuating speeds on my tablet (Android 3.something) my phone (Android 4.something) two laptops (one Vista, one XP) and my 360 (running whatever the heck cut down version of Windows it is) and it occurs through both cable and wireless.  The only way I get anything close to a reliable speed is by using a very short cable directly connected to my router.  Anything over 6 foot and things slow down again.  I'm typing this sat against my front door.
No-one seems to even care that I have a problem, as even complaining direct via email (which apparently will illicit a response within 3 days) has yet to get me anywhere (Still waiting on a response from 5 days ago).  And yet, I'm still expected to pay my bill every month.  On ore than one occasion I have been promised a reduction in myh bill or s refund of some discription for the inconvenience, but I am yet to see any of this.
So it's time to complain about it in a public forum, where other people can weigh in on the way in which I have been treated.
I am in the middle of penning a little letter to the various higher powers, which will include that nice Mrs Robinson off that Watchdog show, and several national papers, unless someone can do something to rectify this situation swiftly.

Thanks for the speedy reply.  I know that the forum mods are the only employees that read it, I just needed to vent my frustrations to people that would actually listen, because no-one else at BT is actually going to do it.
Do I need to login to my router to get my ADSL stats?  I only ask because for some bizarre reason, my router will only accept my password from the XP laptop, not the WIndows 7 (I said Vista before, I meant 7) one or the Android devices.  I'm also on my third different router as I thought the issue may have been my Hub2.  I borrowed an old Netgear from a friend (and I mean old, no n-band wireless) and that seemed to solve things, but the absence of wireless was an issue due to it not having an aerial, so I acquired a hub3, which just brought back the problems.
We've only got the one active socket, and the last time an engineer came round he fitted what I presume is the BT accelerator, which I understand is essentially a permanant connection to the test socket.  In any case, I have since had the front off of the box to try the test socket (I think it's the test socket).  I do use powerlink adaptors to expand my LAN upstairs (4 story house, possibly lead lined walls, we basically live in a faradya cage, so the effective wireless range is kind of limited through no fault of the router) but this has never been a problem until the recent fluctuations.
Not tried the quiet line test, but we don't have a corded phone, so I'm not sure what result I'll get.  Would that explain a fluctauting speed though?
Bt speedtester always seems to hang on me.  I've only ever had a successful read out of it once.  Seems that BT can't even get that right.

  • I just signed up for Verizon 45 days ago and am unhappy with my service? I have decided to switch to another service provider. Are there any other cancellation fees on top of the $350 per line fee? Am I stuck with the phone?

I just signed up with Verizon 45 days ago and am unhappy with my service. I know about the ETF fee of $350/ per line but are there any other fees I will need to pay for the actual phone.

There are no other fees. You are not stuck with the phone, you can do whatever you would like to do with it.

  • I am very unhappy with Verizon's service

I'm so unhappy with Verizon. They offered to me "add a new line on verizon edge and get 100$ bill credit on you bill" and i got confirmed by two reps online that i could get it, i just had to go into the store and after a complete waste of an hour of my time, they turned me away. I'm constantly losing service, their customer service reps are rude and disrespectful. They always forward me to other reps who then forward me to other people. I am about to switch to Sprint or AT&T, because it's getting to be too much of a hassle. They add on misc charges on my bill.
It's sad that Verizon used to actually be number One, now they're just as poor and rude as T-Mobile.

I agree ... their customer service has gone down the toilet to boot. Have you found an email address for customer service(?) as their live chat to india is useless. I often wonder if they money they save is equal to the customers they lose?? every email & text update i get from them is also in spanish which is like salt to my wounds...

  • Extremely Disappointed with Customer Service

Saturday, August 1st, my daughter called Verizon customer service to increase my internet speed. The representative helped and said the upgrade would take effect Thursday, August 6. We receive a call on the 6th and were told that we now have the increased internet speed. The internet stopped working once the upgrade took effect. It is Sunday, August 9th and we still do not have internet.
When we call, we’re informed that the call is recorded and I hope that is true. If so, I’d like a customer service manager or specialist to please review the calls that we made from our home number, {edited for privacy}, on Thursday, August 6th, Friday, August 7th, Saturday, August 8th and Sunday August 9th.  I believe anyone that listens to our calls and the responses we received from the initial service representative would understand my great frustration.
August 6th, my wife called to notify Verizon that the internet is not working and to get it fixed. She went through the initial trouble shooting attempts with the customer service representative. After, the representative said that a ticket would be created and the issue would be fixed in 24 hours.
August 7th, I called and spoke to another customer service representative. This representative said that the first representative was mistaken, it takes 48 hours. The representative said there is a ticket with the central office.
August 8th, I called to follow up because it has been 48 hours and I was assured we would receive a call from a network specialist. During the call, I was put on hold and disconnected. In the beginning, I was asked for a call-back number. Why did I not receive a call back? I was again told that the first line customer service could not give me any other information than there is a ticket with the central office.
August 9th, my daughter called to get information about why we still do not have internet. We were told 48 hours and at this point, it has been well over that time period. We have not received a call back from a specialist, as promised as well. She spoke to Edward at around 9am, Pacific Time. He informed her that the central office only received the ticket today and said that we would definitely be receiving a call “soon” since it has been more than 48 hours. She asked if she could speak to the central office herself or a network specialist since he could not give her any answers. He informed her that he could not. She asked if she could speak to his supervisor because she was unhappy with not receiving any answers after 4 attempts to resolve our issue. He said that the supervisor would tell her the same thing. She said she understood that he tried everything he could but she wanted to express her frustration and displeasure with not receiving any answers. She had to ask 3 times for the supervisor. He, then, put her on hold and a moment later, the call was disconnected. Again, at the beginning of this call, he asked for a call back number. Why didn’t she receive a call back after the call was disconnected?
When my daughter initially called to increase the speed on August 6th, the first representative she spoke to had put her on hold and she was disconnected. 3 out of 7 times we tried calling Verizon, we were disconnected and not once received a call back.
    1. Each representative gave us answers that were inaccurate and conflicting. We did not receive helpful or satisfactory answers.
    2. Repeatedly, we were told that we would receive a call back from a network specialist within a time period, and have not.
    3. On multiple calls, we were disconnected at very suspect moments during the calls, and did not receive a call back.
    4. After 4 days, we still do not have internet or any inclination when my issue will be resolved.
We have no assurance that our issue is being worked. The first-line customer service representatives should receive better training to handle issues such as ours. Hearing conflicting answers from different representatives, receiving broken promises, and being hung-up on is unacceptable from any service providing business. My frustrations are enough for me to search for another service provider.

  • I am unhappy with 1-800-my-apple gave me where can I get customer service?

I bought a Macbook Pro back in May for university, but not from an apple store and just under a month later the deal to get a free Ipod touch with your new mac was introduced. when I called 1-800-my-apple I was extremely unsatisfied with their help. They said the only way to get my ipod was to return my computer and buy it from an apple store. So I tried that but I had also bought iworks and would have to forfeit the $100 I had paid on iworks. So i called 1-800-my-apple again and this time they said to try to get the retailer to honour it. But by this point it was over the return policy and they said they couldn't that apple should. I called 2 more times and instead just got really vague completely unsatisfactory answers. It ****** me off that I had to keep going back and forth when I feel like I had a pretty straight forward and legitimate request. It is kind of late to get the ipod I want so I just want to know where I can voice my frustration and where to go next time I have a problem since 1-800-my-apple was no help.

i agree that apple cust. support is a joke, the people don't know the product at all.
    Golly, gee whiz - really?
Then how come Apple consistently gets top ratings in the industry for its support? A sampling from recent years -

  • Unhappy with BT!!

I know my subject header may seem a bit extreme but that is unfortunatley the conclusion I have come to.
We returned to BT on a phone and broadband package over a year ago. We recently found out that although BT requested a take over of our broadband from our previous provider, they did not do the same for the phone line. It transpired back in October that although we had been paying BT monthly, they were not in fact providing our phone service !!
I was assured that come the 13th of December when they did take over the line that I would be refunded, well the 13th of December came and went and thats when the fun really started !! All I am asking for is a refund of £86.00, which I believe in the circumstances is very reasonable. I was first offered £10 which quite frankly is an insult !
Since then I seem to have spent hours on the phone to BT, I have to explain the situation everytime I phone since you never get to speak to the same person in billing. On 3 seperate occasions now I have been assured that the money would be refunded into my bank account. I last spoke to someone in BT billing on December 23rd,  I was again assured the £86 would be in my account within 24 hours, I pointed out the next day was xmas eve and was told it didnt matter as it was an automatic transfer.
Well here we are on December 29th and still no refund !! and of course I cant speak to anyone in BT billing as they are currently closed. I am beyond disgusted with how BT treat customers, I have been past from pillar to post, told lies and wasted god knows how many hours chasing after a refund that should have gone into my account weeks ago !!
    Rant over.

    Hi mllgnc
    Welcome to the forums.
I'll be happy to have a look into this and get it sorted out.
Could you drop me in an email please with your BT account and telephone number along with a link back to this thread.

  • Unhappy With Veterans United Lighthouse Program- Anyone know about breaking the agreement?

We started on the Veterans United Lighthouse program at the end of May, at that time, we had two of our three credit scores over the 600 mark and were told we only needed to gain 19 points on our credit score to be preapproved for a loan.  When contacting them, we had planned on paying off some delinquent medical debt to help our score but they said not to touch it that all we needed to do is open one credit card account and that would probably do it for us... the lady suggested Wells Fargo for the card... and we were rejected and lost points on our credit score.  We did find a card that approved us but then also saw another drop on our score. Anytime we call to try and get direction or answers to questions, she gives us conflicting advice... and now that our credit score fell she says "maybe you should pay down that medical debt"... this is what they told us not to touch when we began.  It's very frustrating. We were supposed to at least be under contract and moving forward by now because we need to move to a different city for my husband's job in August but now she says it will take several more months... we are VERY unhappy with the service (or lack of service) we've gotten there and think it would just be better to handle our credit on our own because all she's done is give advice that caused it to fall. SO, here's my question... when we started the Lighthouse program, we signed an agreement that said something like "if you use the lighthouse program you agree to use us for your VA loan"- so now that we are very unhappy with the program, are we still bound to use them for a VA loan?  I have read so many negative comments about Veterans United since I started myFICO message boards yesterday and this is very concerning for me.  This form I signed was a digital, online form so I don't have a copy (I know, that was dumb of me to sign it- we were recommended to the program by a friend of ours who had a good experience so our guard was down a bit). ANY ADVICE?Current credit scores are now: 586, 602 & 583... rental houses are very expensive where we're moving to and we really NEED to buy but now it seems unatainable.

Welcome to the forums! If you want to make gains in your score, my first and always recommendation is to do the following: 1) Post all your negatives and ask for help resolving them in the Rebuilding Your Credit forum, there may be some simple quick wins for getting them deleted.2) Post the whole darned enchilada in Understanding FICO Scoring: card limits and balances, loans, negatives, etc; this is for putting lipstick on the pig to optimize an instant in time pull. We're not FICO employees but this forum and one or two other places online are the next best thing when it comes to FICO optimization.  LO's unfortunately often don't know what they're talking about when it comes to FICO scoring, though your LO was right the first time, don't touch those medical collections by simply paying them, if you can't get them deleted they will not help your credit score and might even bring it down further.  The card advice, ugh, there's very few circumstances where that would have helped immediately and there's always a tradeoff involved with opening a new account when we're weighing potential advice on that front. I don't know anything about that particular program but hopefully someone will be able to give you better information on that. Thank you for the advice- I'll give it a try!
