Facetime sur iMac, iPad, iPhone

Bonjour,

    hello,
BlackBerry devices do not support ActiveSync.
you have several ways, from best to less good :
    1)
if your company has set up Outlook Web Access, you can use the BIS connection of your device to connect to the Exchange server (email + Address book) through the url of the Outlook Web Access. The OWA needs to be accessible from outside the company.
    2)
if your company has setup an external link to the exchange server (can be accessible from outside the company), you can configure your BIS directly to the Exchange server (email only if I recall correctly)
    3)
if your company allows it, on your PC you can setup your email account to automatically forward all incoming emails to a third party email (like GMail or Hotmail), and then configure BIS to connect to that email provider. You will get push email. You can then setup a reply-to: field.
    4)
use a Windows Mobile phone that has the ActiveSync feature.

Hello, If you are dealing with one of the really thin iMac's that have no superdrive, then the superdrive icon should not appear on the desktop when you plug it in, but when you put in a disk (CD, DVD, etc.) that should appear. If you go into disk utility, and look at superdrive, that should be clickable and not grayed out when you have it plugged in. If this does not show up in disk utility, go to Apple, and ask to speak to their supervisor, speaking to a customer service agent is like talking to a potato, nothing gets done. Good Luck!

    Hello,
Are they just regular size eMails?
Do you have more than one eMail account setup?
    Next time it happens, get...
    Find Any File...
    http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/
Hold Option or alt key when selecting Find to Find All.
Use it to Find All, for Name ends in...

  • TS4118 how to sync calendar/contacts with imac, ipad, & iphone

I am having issues syncing with all of my products and would love some assistance, please.
I have the new ipad and the iphone 5.  I also have an imac running Mac OS X (version 10.6.8).  I can sync the ipad and iphone 5 with icloud but I end up with a lot of duplicates.  Nothing seems to be syncing with the imac.
I used to be able to keep my imac as the primary item that I would make all of the changes on, plug my ipad into the computer and when it would sync (over itunes), it would make the calendar/contacts adjustments on to the ipad, but since getting the iphone, that just isn't happening any more.  Is it because of icloud?  Now, there is nothing on my imac calendar - the iphone seems to be the primary with both the ipad & iphone having a ton of duplicates (both in the calendar and the contacts)!
Thanks sooo much for any assistance you can provide!

While waiting for a reply, you can read the documentation that was in the box your iPad came in.  It's a book about a Spanish guy called Manual.
The answer is iTunes.  Download it.  Install it.  Read the instructions.  Use it.

  • Issue icloud tab safari, iMac-iPad-iPhone

    Hi averyone,
Imac running OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.4
    Ipad 2 running iOS 6.1.3 (10B329)
    Iphone 4S running iOS 6.1.3 (10B329)
iCloud tabs in Safari (iMac AND iPad) are NOT showing pages opened on iPhone; only iPad pages for iMac, only iMac pages on iPad.
iPhone Safari however is showing pages opened on both iMac and iPad.
Please help resolve this MYSTERY. all 3 devices were iCloud resetted - OFF, reboot, then ON, multiple times.
nothing changed. Iphone is still synching only ONE way-
    Appreciate

    Hey Bruno-
Thanks for the question. The following article provides troubleshooting steps for iCloud Tabs:
iCloud: Using and troubleshooting iCloud Tabs
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5372
    1. If Safari is open, quit Safari.
              - Double-click your Home button. Your open applications will appear in a row at the bottom of your screen.
              - Find the Safari icon. Touch and hold down the icon until the icons of your open applications start shaking.
              - Tap the red circle in the upper-left corner of the Safari icon. The icon will disappear from the list.
              - Press the Home button again to return to normal operations.
    2. Tap Settings, and then tap iCloud.
    3. Tap Safari to turn it off. Tap either Keep or "Delete from My iPhone" when asked if you want to delete synced data.
    4. Press the Home button to exit Settings, and wait about one minute.
    5. Tap Settings, and then tap iCloud.
    6. Tap Safari to turn it on.
    7. Press the Home button.
    8. Open Safari, and test to see if the issue has been resolved.
    - Turn off, and then restart your iPhone. This may sound simple, but it does reinitialize your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Facetime with imac and iphone

    Hello,
I have iMac end iPhone but cannot use Facetime.
Thanks to inform me how to setting them.
    JCC

When one adds a new email address via Settings->FaceTime in the area 'You can be reached for video calls at:'  the system will send an email to that address containing a link.  Clicking on that link will complete the verification process and that email address will become a valid 'address' for using that device with FaceTime.
If there is already an email address in the settings 'You can be reached for video calls at:' area, and it is the same one used on another device then the duplicated email address can be removed after the new address is verified.  As long as each iDevice has a unique and verified email address at that location then calls can be made between devices regardless of the Apple ID used with that device.

  • Catastrophic Rendering Problem with PDF's on iMac, iPad, iPhone and iBooks

    Hi,
i would like to hear from anybody who has had the same experience.
A customer sent me an order per email with an attached PDF order. We use apple mail for all incoming emails on an iMac.
Both in apple mail when viewing the attachment (no need to open it) and in the previewer using quick look and also having saved the attachment and opened it directly with previewer all seemed OK.
We delivered the product as requested but received a complaint because the client claimed that we had overlooked certain details in the order. This caused a considerable amount of disagreement because both parties felt they were right.
To make sure the documentation was complete we saved the attachment on our vmware- windows XP machine in our client data folders. We later opened the attachment on the windows machine which uses adobe reader and not apple previewer.
Lo and behold - all the details which the client said were contained were now visible.
Further investigation showed that any data which the client had printed/generated in bold font were not being displayed on the mac.
Unbelievable, so we forwarded the mail to a sevaral colleagues for double checking.
They all confirmed our findings. Apple mail and previewer do not display the same data as when using adobe reader.
Even worse: neither do the email displayer on ipad or iphone conform to what is displayed by the original. Even saving the docoment to iBooks does not help.
Our only guess is that the client who sent the PDF is probably using a non-adobe pdf creator which happens to work if you use adobe reader to display it but probably does not conform to the spec which others, such as apple, use when displaying. Maybe abobe reader is just more error tolerant.
I have sent feedback to apple but hardly think they will crash update all their products.
As it happened this caused an argument about a few euros. I hate to think what it could cause though.
    -Paul-

While not common, what you describe is no unusual either. I can tell you that the person who created the PDF almost certainly used Adobe's products. It is Adobe that is not compatible with all of the other PDF implementations. I encourage you to submit a bug report to Apple and include a copy of the PDF. There was a "bug" in Apple's PDF rendering software in version 10.6.7 for which Apple released a fix fairly quickly. I say "bug" in quotes because the PDF was perfectly valid according to all published standards. All PDF viewing programs on either Mac or Windows could read the PDF - except Adobe.
Ultimately, PDF is a print technology and will fall by the technology wayside pretty soon.

  • Syncing issues with iMac, iPad & iPhone 4s

In the last couple of days all 3 devices just magically stopped syncing with each other, I haven't changed any settings at all and have installed all the updates as they have arrived (except Maverics OS) from the day I purchased them...what is happening?
This is extremely frustrating as I use them all every day for work!! It was so refreshing when I purchased them all, and they were working together beautifully, now its just a reminder of what I went from with the Microsoft headaches and 'software updates'...
    Definately unimpressed!!
So what have I done so far to 'get them working' again?
I have checked the settings in iCloud...all the right buttons are 'on' as they should be, on all 3 devices!
I have done a backup into iCloud & onto MyMac, of the iPhone and iPad, and also a backup of the iMac into the Time Capsule.
Not sure what to do from here though...last time this happened it was a couple of weeks before 'everything just magically started working again' and things were somewhat restored.
Does Apple have the occasional 'outage' with the iCloud? Does a server go down somewhere rendering any hours spent on trying to get to the bottom of this issue useless?
Would love to know any answers anyone has...

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

  • Managing photos with iMac, iPad, iPhone using iPhoto

Help! Can anyone point me to how to gain some control over photos in this Apple environment, because my experience has been horrible so far.
As much as I love and have used Apple products since the mid-80's, to the same extent I detest the lack of understanding I have for controlling my photos across my devices. I will use the iPad as my foil, but it applies to the phone as well. I know how to search the web.
Where is a scheme described for simply managing photos? There seems no reason for many photos from my iPhoto library to be on my iPad. I have not opened the photos, nor explicitly placed them in photo stream.
I spent hours in iPhoto yesterday and deleted several thousand photos. Apparently, I only thought I deleted many if them, because they are still in my IPad and some are in iphoto.
Can I wipe out all the photos on the iOS devices, lock the devices so icloud can't put any back on until I wish, then allow me to select which I want to put on again, then start to trust PhotoStream?
Is there anyone with good information?
I really hate all the trial and error with this, and no satisfaction.
Last week I thought I sent some pictures of some people to PhotoStream to show when I went to visit them. Hours later, with iPad, wanting to show the Photos, none  i wanted to were there, by my PhotoStream share had a lot of pictures I do not care about. WTH? I have great wi-Fi. Everything is connected. Fine demonstration that was!

What version fo iPhoto and system are you running:
If you're using Photo Stream in iPhoto on your iMac disengage Automatic Upload in the iPhoto/Photo Stream preference pane:
Now you will have to manually add photos to Photo Stream in iPhoto if you want them to be on your iPhone's Photo Stream.
You can remove photos in PS from iPhoto by selecting them and Control (right)-clicking and selecting Delete from Photo Stream:

In my Itunes accout, my IMac, Iphone, Ipad, and Ipod all are listed in the Itune Icloud list under my apple acount that is set up for the Itunes store.  However, when I try to set up Icloud on any of my Apple devices, it states that the apple ID cannot be verified.

trying to sync apps and music from my iMac to my new iPhone (totally lost, not a techie)
getting this message when I try:
"This computer is no longer authorized for apps that are installed on the iPhone “******’s iPhone”. Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store"?
    then this
"If you do not authorize this computer, 3 apps, including “*******”, and their data will be deleted from this iPhone.
it then asks me to "authorize" and when I enter my password and click "authorize" I get this message:

i want to reset my facetime password as i always receive a prompt which reads incorrect password, i cant remember ever selecting on, can anyone help please

    Hi,
If you are getting the message to Contact Support there is no other option.
When Mountain Lion first came out and you got this message it did appear to get sorted for free.
    Start here
    http://www.apple.com/uk/support/itunes/
Click the Contact Support at the bottom of the menu
In the next page use the right hand Pane and the iTunes Store link.
after that generally follow "Manage Account" type links.
The process is "trying to answer questions"  but you will eventually be offered an email Link.
Use that and explain the issue.
Generally the issue tends to be something specific about your account that only Apple Support can change.

  • Seeking general tutorial for iMac, iPad, iPhone

I have been using Apple for the past 2 years, but I do have some spare time available right now, so I'm wondering if there is some kind of general tutorial process which would help me get better organized, and not waste effort needlessly, if I can learn to understand the sync tools available for our iPad2, iPhone4S, and iMac (2009, Intel, and 24-inch).
For example, I type in appointments onto my iPhone4S, and I'm still trying to figure out how to sync it up with the iCal on our dekstop iMac.  I think that I would feel more organized if I could really understand how to use these apps and

in case you have not done iCloud, you can use blue tooth. I opened Finder and used the Help box in the menu to find this:
    To turn on Bluetooth:
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Bluetooth.
Select the On checkbox. To allow other Bluetooth enabled devices to “discover” your computer and send files, also select the Discoverable checkbox.
Select “Show Bluetooth status in the menu bar” so you can quickly send files and perform other actions using the Bluetooth status menu in the menu bar.
    HideTo send files using Bluetooth:
Choose Send File from the Bluetooth status menu in the menu bar.If the Bluetooth menu isn’t visible, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Bluetooth, and select “Show Bluetooth status in the menu bar.”
In the window that appears, select the file you want to send, and then click Send.
Select the device you want to send the file to, and then click Send.If you don’t see the device you want to send the file to, make sure the device has Bluetooth turned on and is discoverable.
You can set options for what happens when others try to send you files or browse your computer using Bluetooth. For more information, open Bluetooth File Exchange, located in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder, and choose Help > Bluetooth Help.
