Failed to download update Error 0x87d00669

Hello @ll,
I try to implement SUP. The first deployment includes 102 updates. 101 are installed correctly, the last one failes. In the UpdatesHandler.log I found this entries:
Bundle update (ad99d2a2-9483-4a22-be93-b2f422024ba0) is requesting download from child updates for action (INSTALL) UpdatesHandler 01.08.2014 14:12:32 4076 (0x0FEC)

Seems that the update ad99d.... requires the update 26311... and can't download this. I filtered the software updates for the unique Update-ID ad99d... and find the update wich is listed in the SoftwareCenter on the client. If I filter for unique update
id 23611... there is no result.
I read some post, that 0x87d00669 means a reboot is required. Did a lot if reboots, rescans and so on. This updates keeps uninstalled and failes on download.
Any idea?
Kind regards,
Dennis

  • Failed to download updates to the WUAgent datastore (error = 0x8009000 / -2146893815)

We have a central site (SRVSC00) and two primary child sites (SRVSC01/02) in our SCCM structure. All clients (3700) are connected to the child sites and reports to central site. All SU deployments are being deployed from central site. WSUS server (3.0 Sp2) is installed on each site (port 8530).
I've deployed a patch (for the first time to all workstations) and over 130 clients failes.

I've tried wsusutil reset in case the problem was eula. But this doesn't seem to have resolved the problem - if I did it correct :)
    Can anyone help me?

    Problem solved :D
This has nothing to do with EULA. The problem is on Windows Update Components on the clients.
I had to reset the Windeows Update components with Microsoft Microsoft Fix it 50202 2.1.1.1.
Since we had the problem on 100-200 machines, we deployed the Microsoft Microsoft Fix it 50202 2.1.1.1 with SCCM. Windows Update started to work on each machine after the package had run :)

That error translates to ERROR_INTERNET_CANNOT_CONNECT. See PatchDownloader.log and try to download the patch manually (for testing purposes).

  • "Failed to download map" error

I have a new N810 and was trying to update the Eastern US map.  I got an error message that there wasn't enough memory (can't figure that one out, but that's a different issue), so I deleted the existing one thinking that would free enough room.  Now when I try to download the updated one, I get a "Failed to download map" error.  Any tips?

I found an answer that worked very well - not sure how I ended up getting to this page, but followed the instructions and it worked like a charm:

  • SCCM Fails to download updates

After validating WSUS was working and the ability to download the updates outside of the wizardI ended up going back to my most recent packages
Repointed my download location from internet on a new test package/update list to a pointless network location a couple of times, repointed to the internet and I got a partial download
I deleted and recreated one package and modified its package source share path. I am not sure how unique that path has to be per deployment package but I made the path definitely unique to this package. Once that Deployment Package was recreated my downloads appeared to work correctly.
I also did not know that the initial download is processed through the system variable temp directoy on the site server

While downloading new Software Update Group, I was also facing same errors in SCCM 2012 SP1. How it was resolved or a work around was applied is by segregating the updates released in each month.
    Errors:
    "HttpSendRequest failed HTTP_STATUS_NOT_FOUND"
    "Download http://wsus.ds.download.windowsupdate.com/c/msdownload/update/software/secu/2014/07/windows6.1-kb2918614-ia64_ea0909c226c16fa4217e673486fccba109a3e529.cab to C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Temp\CAB209E.tmp returns 404"
    "ERROR: DownloadContentFiles() failed with hr=0x80070194"
Initially, it seemed to be related to proxy configuration on SUP or WSUS level but after bypassing proxy and configuring direct routes to Internet - the error was still there.
This was actually related to some specific Security Updates for Itanium-based processors. Downloading such updates released during July and August, 2014 only, were faced with errors.
However, the x64 versions of these failing updates got downloaded successfully.
Probably the failing packages were moved or renamed on mentioned website, due to which patch download was giving errors.
The above has worked for my environment, best of luck for yours.

  • Isolated WSUS fails to download updates

We have an isolated network that is not connected to the internet. The steps we have taken is as follows:
    Download updates from another source.
Log onto WSUS as Local Administrator
Shutdown Update Services and copy updates to the \WSUS\WsusContent folder
From here we run CMD as administrator and use wsusutil.exe import e:\wsus\wsuscontent\updates.cab log.txt which runs for roughly 30 minutes.
We receive no errors upon completion and no errors in the log file.
Update Services is restarted automatically after the import is run, Open Windows Server Update Services and find that all the updates say The files for this update have not yet been downloaded
I know it can take time for the metadata to match to the downloaded file but have sitting over night it still has not "found" the updates. We have tried starting from scratch by reinstalling WSUS all together, attempted a wsusutil.exe reset, database change
to SUSDB but the issue remains
The WSUS server runs on Windows 2008R2

Well.. performing steps 7 and 8 AFTER performing the wsusutil import is not helpful, and likely complicated things.
Step 7 should be performed before Step 6
Step 8 is entirely unnecessary on an import server except in very special cases, and absolutely inappropriate right after performing a wsusutil import.
In the previous post from October, 2012, I suggested that a 'wsusutil reset' *MAY* be able to remediate an ACL defect (rather than performing the full import). However, the O.P. never posted back with an updates, so I don't really know if it did, or didn't.
Best case, your 'reset' command was completely ignored because it was already doing one as a result of the 'import'. Worse case, a second 'reset' was triggered, and might still be running.
Before performing any other actions, let's do a sanity check on the import server:
Check the CPU utilization of the sqlservr.exe process (to make sure the 'reset' is not still running).
What is the physical pathname of the parent folder of the ~\WSUSContent folder?
What are the ACLs currently configured on the ~\WSUSContent folder?
What is the value of CONTENT_DIR in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Update Services\Server\Setup?
What is the target pathname for the /Content v-dir in IIS?
Assuming all of that configuration data is copasetic, and the sqlservr.exe process is relatively idle (as opposed to pegged out doing table scans) then clear the BITS queue again. (NOTE: After using your Step 7, which I don't actually know will achieve the
desired results, double-check that the BITS queue is actually empty after restarting all of the services. Double-check that the sqlservr.exe service is still idle after clearing the BITS queue.)
Then rerun the WSUSUTIL IMPORT command and observe the results.

  • PE 9 download update errors/

I have successfully installed PE 9 on my Mac (10.9) but when I try to download updates I get continuous "download error messages". My router seems ok and other downloads have installed ok. Is there an issue with the update process

You can manually install the updates from here:

However, you should consider whether or not you really want to do the 9.0.3 update:

  • RemoteUpdateManager failed to download updates

Trying to update Dreamweaver (primarily) on a few PCs here but having an issue with RemoteUpdateManager failing to download the update. I initially tested this on a Windows 2012 R2 machine and it worked fine. So I then attempted to run RUM on some client machines (with no other programs running) but it failed (see log below). The proxy settings are the same on the server as the clients, and the clients are also running 64-bit Windows 7. Interestingly enough, all 32-bit deployments of CC have Dreamweaver already updated, but this would be more related to the CCP than RUM failing I imagine.
Some clues as to why my 64-bit clients failed would be appreciated.

  • Will not allow me to download update; error code: 3

At my work I have attempted to install the update to Creative Cloud but it will not allow me to. After it attempts to install, it will bring up the message: "Administrator privileges are required to continue with installation. (Error code: 3)" Obviously I need administrator approval to install, but the problem is at no point in the install process does it bring a prompt to enter admin credentials so it won't allow the install. Anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks

  • HT201272 Keep getting error #499 when trying to download a song from an album I purchased that failed to download.  Error message appears when trying to download from iTunes and the cloud. Re-starting the computer did not help.

I downloaded an album I purhcased a few days ago but one of the album's songs did not download.  I received an error message, #499, for which I can get no explanation or interpretation of what error #499 even is (other than generic terms).  All my efforts to re-start the download have failed.  I've tried several times to download the file to no avail, tried the cloud service to no avail, and re-started the computer to no avail.
My main intention is to, of course, get the download completed.  My secondary intention is to, hopefully, bring to the attention of Apple - iTunes staff, the grossly inadequate, dare I say cryptic, error message descriptions iTunes displays.
I can provide the purchase receipt number if it is required.

    Hey SDGardella,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are receiving error 499 when attempting to download purchases from the iTunes Store. The following resource outlines this error message:

    "Error 499"
This alert occurs due to security software. Follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
