Failed to get root path for 'UED'

Good afternoon.
I have a problem with my IDES installation in University.
After a server reboot, MAXDB doesn't want to give up.
This is the log:
$ tail startdb.log
Error! Connection failed to node dolphin for database UED: database not found
Opening Database...
Failed to get root path for 'UED'
Error! Connection failed to node dolphin for database UED: database not found
Fri Aug 24 17:11:11 CEST 2007
Connect to the database to verify the database is now open
dbmcli check finished with return code: 0
If I try to run dbmcli manually, I receive the same error:
$dbmcli -u control,****** -d UED
Failed to get root path for 'UED'
Error! Connection failed to node (local) for database UED: database not found
Any suggestions??
Regards,
Luca

Hi Markus,
I think that my problem is not completely solved.
In fact, now the IDES system is on , but I'm not able to login into it.
When I select UED system on menu of my JAVA GUI and press "connect button", I can't access to SAP login window. (see )
I'm sure that is not a "network problem" of my laptop. (the problem persist also with others SAPGUI).
I've tried to <b>reboot</b> the server, but the situation is always the same. No way to access into the system, popup "connecting" reman.
If I try to see process that are running in the server, via "top -u uedadm" command, this is the situation:

  • Unable to determine the install root path for the LabVIEW Runtime Engine

    Hi,
    i have an issue with using a LabVIEW interop assembly in a .NET application. I get an exception "Unable to determine the install root path for the LabVIEW Runtime Engine" when calling the assembly.
    The little test program is attached below. It's called dotNETHost.exe. If you excecute the programm a dialog with an button appears. Clicking the button shall open another dialog (the LabVIEW Interop component). But the only thing I get is the exception message. The ZIP folder also contains the complete exception meassage (ExceptionMessange.jpg & ExceptionDetails.txt).
    The Interop Assembly was built with LabVIEW 2011. We use Visual Studio 2010 and .NET 4.0.. The dotNETHost.exe.config file is prepared as mentioned in Knowledge base - Loading .NET 4.0 assemblies.
    The Interop assembly contains only one simple dialog (loop is finished by clicking OK) without calling any other VIs or other DLL's.  In case of this there's also no support directory generated by the build process.
    I have no idea why it doesn' work. I hope anyone can help me.
    Thanks in advance
    Kay

    This may be unrelated, but Labview and .Net4.0 dont work well together. Not yet anyway. I had to compile my assembly in 3.5 to get it to work.

  • VFS error - Failed to get short path - 0xFD01925-0x5

    Hi all,
    I'm stuck and frustrated, but I'm a little out of my depth and in a complex environment. I've been experimenting with sequencing Visio 2010 on App-V 5, and it just isn't working for me.
    My first attempt just threw lots of errors on the client which I can't recall or explain, but thinking I had a licensing issue I re-sequenced it with a different KMS Key to be Pro, rather than Premium. (Sorry about the useless back story...)
    Now I've sequenced it, activated, and verified the correct KMS key is installed and the correct version appears to be activated. Excellent, feeling confident.
    I've then imported the App-V package into SCCM 2012 and deployed it to a collection I am in. I then request and approve the application and install it.
    The error: When I try to start it from the start menu, I get a simple failure message telling me helpfully that there's a failure that's probably network related. "More Details" gives me my error codes which agree with the event log.
    In the event log under the VFS Subsystem log (which I turned on to troubleshoot this, thanks to
    Tim Mangan and his 'Toolbelt') I get two messages;
    1. ID 606: Failed to get short path from '\\?\UNC\{DFS path to my Home drive}\Application Data'
    2. ID 601: Failed to load runtime configurations. Error code 0xFD01925-0x5
    So I've got that it's a VFS error, and that it likely translates somewhere to 'Access is Denied'.
    I have edited the package to allow it all three options on the last tab for interacting with the file system.
    I have verified that my account has full control on that path both by share and NTFS.
    From my reading on GetShortPathName I feel I should mention that this path is a DFS share on a 2003 server (yes yes yes, we're migrating that soon too). The {DFS path to my Home drive} is mapped as a drive letter, is there any way I can point it to that?
    The workstation is Windows 7 Enterprise x64 with an i7 and lots of RAM. The SCCM server is 2012 R2, the package was sequenced on a Windows 7 VM that was created with the same image as the workstations (minus network and with the app-v sequencer not client).
    Visio is 32bit to interact with Office 32bit which has 32bit plugins from external vendors.
    We do use Roaming profiles and Folder Redirection in a domain environment.
    Help, please?

    Interesting that the issue occurs with and without AppData redirection.
    With a manual import of the package, I meant via PowerShell directly on a client:

  • Failed to get WIF path after update?

    After I applied the July PRU, none of my machines show up with a "later" scan date on the ZAM server.
    So far, every workstation I've checked shows "failed to get WIF path" in the colw32.log file.
    The registry key for Tally Systems has a blank setting for WIFName
    Things were working before that just fine.

    Very odd. Seems Novell hasn't fixed the bug where you apply a PRU and things don't restart properly.
    Even though I restarted the manager and the inventory service, and it supposedly merged things fine, things were not fine.
    I had to restart the entire server and then it started working again.
    I'll have to dig up my old SR # and re-open the defect.
    Sigh.

    my current configuration in /etc/hosts file is as follows.
    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain servername
    After going through some of threads available in Oracle, I have added the static IP address in the /etc/hosts but still I am getting the same error.

    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain servername

  • ZAM collector failed to get WIF path message

    This irritating message constantly appears in C:\Program Files\Novell\ZENworks\Asset Management\bin\colw32.log on many PC's. On some PC's it appears every time the collector service tries to start but on some it only appears infrequently. I need to know how to troubleshoot this message as many of our workstations are not producing an inventory and it's down to this message.
    I have done some tests today on several PC's all logged on as me. Some work, some don't, so it can't be anything to do with policies and rights to the registry. Using ZAM 7.5 IR16 with latest product updates.

    Diag.Exe and DoRes.DLL already exist in the client directory. This has created and populated a file called CClientEvent20081201.log in the client logs directory. However it contains no useful information at all as to why this "Failed to get WIF path" message appears.
    On the particular PC I am using here, there are 2 .WIF files dated 27th November in the InboxCC directory then nothing since so it did work until last week so why it has stopped working now I have no idea.

    I had the same problem. It turns out the Windows firewall was blocking port 7461. Once port 7461 was opened everything started to work.

  • Failed to get WIF path

    I have Zen 7 Asset Inventory (7.00.0050 SP1 Interim Release 14) installed
    on a W2K3 standard SP2 server.
    I was getting inventory from my test clients until a couple of weeks ago.
    I discovered this because I rolled out the lights out install of the
    client to the rest of my workstations (about 450) last night and none of
    them showed up in the web console.
    Now on my clients (old and new), with Diagnostics on, I get "failed to get
    WIF path" in the colw32.log on all my clients. This is the only error
    that I can find anywhere.
    I have verified that the inventory
    service is running.
    I have captured packets on both client and server and
    verified that there is traffic to and from 7460 and 7461 as expected.
    My catalog.ini file on the clients is empty and there is not a current
    ..wif file in the InboxCC folder.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Not really. :-)

  • I want to get desktop path for client user using webutil

    oracle database 11g
    oracle forms 10 g
    client windows
    i want to get desktop path for client user using webutil
    as i want to save file in this path

    To get the user's path to their Desktop is a two step process.  First, you have to echo the %USERPROFILE% to a output file and secondly, read the directory from the output file in to Forms.  The code would look similar to the following:
    /* When-Button-Pressed trigger */
    DECLARE
      v_temp_path VARCHAR2(250);
      v_temp_file VARCHAR2(12) := 'webutil.log';
      f_file Client_Text_IO.File_Type;
    BEGIN
      Client_Host('cmd /c echo %USERPROFILE%\Desktop > c:\'||v_temp_file);
      f_file := Client_Text_Io.FOpen('c:\'||v_temp_file, 'R');
    Client_Text_Io.Get_Line(f_file,v_temp_path);
    Client_Text_Io.FClose(f_file);
       b_dummy := WebUtil_File.Delete_File('C:\'||v_temp_file);
      --At this point, you have the path stored in the v_temp_path variable.
      --You can assign this variable to a block item or reference it directly in your code.
    END;
    When you reference the value of the v_temp_path, don't forget to wrap the value in double-quotes (" ") becuase the path will have spaces.  Since your plan is to write a file to the user's desktop, your call to FOPEN will look  like this:
    f_file := Client_Text_Io.FOpen('"'||v_temp_file||'"','W');
    Hope this helps,

  • Worflow failed to get user profile for user

    I have a workflow that sends an email to a user.  In the workflow email, one line has the lookup [%User Profiles:Name%], with Return field "As String" of the list item Field "Account Name" with Value "Current Item:Created By".
    This workflow works for everyone, except it Errors when one user creats an item in this list.  The error is "Workflow failed to get user profile for user...  System Account - An error has occurred in Workflow Name"
    and more detailed error found in logs: "AutoStart Workflow: Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: Recursive workflows are not permitted.     at Microsoft.SharePoint.Workflow.SPWorkflowAutostartEventReceiver.<>c__DisplayClass1.<AutoStartWorkflow>b__0(SPSite

    When I run "get-addomain -identity [FQDN]", I noticed that our DNSRoot has a totally different name than our NetBIOSName, so I followed this article and made sure to set netbiosdomainnamesenabled to TRUE:
    http://meandmysharepoint.blogspot.ca/2012/09/netbiosdomainnamesenabled-and.html
    To give you an idea of our setup, our DNSRoot is "abc.domain.com" and our NetBIOSName is "TESTING"; 2 totally different names.  When I run "get-addomain -identity [FQDN]", the Name field is: "abc" (just the first
    part of the DNSRoot); therefore, when I look up this user's profile in Sharepoint Manage User Profiles, his account shows as "abc\username" when it should be "TESTING\username".
    I did an IISReset, and I ran a Full Profile Sync. But the workflow still Errors for this user.
    Any ideas how to fix this?  Should I delete MySites and User Profile Service application and recreate them?
    Any tips would be appreciated.
    thanks!

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when sending an email to the user in workflow.
    Did you delete the existing Connections before setting NetBiosDomainNamesEnabled?
    If not, I recommend to delete and recreate your AD connections, then set NetBiosDomainNamesEnabled to true.
    Or you can delete the original User Profile Service Application and create a new one, then set the NetBiosDomainNamesEnabled to true and start the User Profile Service Application
     synchronization.

    Best regards.

  • "failed to get MAC address for machine"

    here is the jist of things.
    installed leopard and have it pimped out to my personal specs. I like where everything is and how things are working. No issues. just so you know, i only use WIFI for internet, i share with the guys upstairs. In order to get wifi on my machine, i use a USB dongle. works great no issues with it ever, well until i physically broke it. No big deal. So i replaced it with another one, different drivers/chipset worked.. And since i installed leopard i only backed it up once with TM, i dont care for daily/hrly backups, weekly is fine for me. Now after 2 weeks and a new usb network card. TM gives me an error. i click on the little red i and it says "the backup volume could not be found" so googled and searched the forums not much help, so i tried and formated my ext drive repaired and click on TM again, same error. In the error log in console, right after i turn on TM i get this error, "failed to get MAC address for machine" then 180 secs later, TM fails. again, and again.
    Can anyone tell me where i can find what MAC address its looking for??? ethernet has never been plugged in to my machine ever. its only been online via USB wifi. Im really lost here, i dont know what i can do.. im sure if i try another drive ill get the same error. please help if you can.. much appriciated.
    Jamie

    yeah i get a 'failed to get mac address' message too. what's weird is that it seems that leopard 'broke' my ethernet (there was no mac address, couldn't connect to the internet through ethernet after a clean install), and then 10.5.2 'fixed' it. for some reason, i have an 'ethernet 2' heading in system preferences that works correctly and has a mac address and everything, while the regular 'ethernet' tab doesn't work at all. however, i still get this time machine error. i don't understand why time machine is so incredibly fickle. sorry, i'm really of no help to anyone, other than adding another voice to the frustration.
