FAO: Customer Services! Skype have ruined my Chris...

Thank you very much Skype. You have just ruined my Christmas. I live in Singapore and went on holiday to Indonesia, confident that I would be able to contact my family in the UK over the Christmas period. However, upon arriving in Indonesia, I received and email saying that my account had been suspended due to 'unauthorised login' which I assume was me logging in from Bali. Fair enough. I respect the fact that you protected my account from potentially unauthorised activity. So, I duly followed the link you sent me in the email to reactivate my account. "Oops, something went wrong with our website. Please try again later". After ten or so attempts to resubmit the form over the Christmas holidays, I gave up. The website wouldn't work and I couldn't post a question in the forum, because I wasn't allowed to log in as my account was suspended! ARGH! I'd been so excited about logging on and watching my family open their Christmas presents and this was impossible without my Skype premium account. Now I've finally got back to Singapore and the account recovery site worked straight away. So I'm back into my account, but I'm still not allowed to add any credit or extend my premium account because that is still suspended and when I try to use the customer support 'text chat' service, it tells me that it has been initiated in another window but this window never appears. So I'm being forced to use a public forum, which I wanted to avoid. So please Skype, please get in touch so that I can reactivate all of ther functionality of my account and finally speak to my family, even if it is two weeks too late. I am hugely dissappointed and infuriated with how difficult your process has been. Please make this right.

I've had several accounts for years and they've never been compromised.  I don't know why you are referencing an article years old as your sole basis for the root of your hijacking.  Anything is possible just like your password being compromised on any computer or network you trusted and accessed that contained your Skype account info in the past few years.   VPNs can also create a compromising situation since you are essentially traversing another private network that you don't necessarily manage.  
Skype has their own security policies and if your account is violating those policies or harming their network they have a right to terminate that account temporarily or permanently at their discretion to stop damages from occurring on their network, even if you may not be directly responsible.  If your work is solely dependent on the Skype service you should have a backup plan.  I personally have 2 cell phones on standby from two different networks that I can use at any time for either Internet access or as a standard phone.  I also have several Skype accounts should one of them be inaccessible.  Should "disaster" strike I have an action plan so I'm not dead in the water.  
An outage of services for a prolonged amount of time is one thing but an outage due to a detected security violation is another.  You're as much a victim as Skype is so I don't understand the focused animosity for a service that has otherwise worked well for you in the past 2 years..  If someone steals my car, joy rides it and engages in illegal activity, I don't plan on getting that car back anytime soon so I make arrangements for a rental if I need to get to work the following day.  Trying to bill the police department due to their lack of pre-crime doesn't accomplish anything.

  • Worst customer service I have ever had.

    I have been a Verizon Wireless customer for 8 years. I moved out of the country in February. I called to cancel my plan a few months before. They told me it would be best to wait for my plan to run out. As it would be "better" for me monetarily. A few weeks before I left the country I went into a store to confirm this was the best option. Again I was told the same thing. Now I have a bill that over $400 because someone didn't accurately record my efforts to cancel my plan. I made 5 international calls to Verizon at my own expense I got through finally on the last call. I was transferred and transferred and they said not only was I to pay the bill, despite my attempt to cancel my plan multiple times, but they were happy to send me to collections. Is this the amazing customer service you are always talking about? I will be posting any negative feedback on any forum I can find. I will be sharing this story and encouraging anyone I know to cancel their existing Verizon plan.

  • I need to speak to someone ASAP in regards to the horrible customer service I have been receiving

    Regarding E61450057 On Nov 24 2014 I purchased this brand new TV model KDL60R510A. On July 1st, 2015 I contacted Sony Service and Support @ 1-800-222-7669 to make a claim due to the HDMI port #1 on my TV is not functioning.  After several tests and been transferred to next steps, in other words "bounced around", they advised me that I qualified to exchange the TV for a brand new TV compatible to mine. I was advised that someone will delivered my new TV and take the old one for return.  I was waiting for this to happened about ten days and I received a phone call to my cell stating that they don't have a TV like mine on inventory and that they will proceed with a refund .  Money is not going to work due to the fact that I bought this TV on a huge sale that is no longer available anywhere, therefore a refund is not a good option from the customer service standpoint, I just want a 60'' LED TV.  I don't understand why this company is trying to put me in a position so uncomfortable and irritating as a customer. I just want my TV fixed or replaced for a new one, mine didnt even last 7months,I will appreciate a solution for my issue and not a demanding statement from customer service giving me no choice but a refund withing 3 days or case close and then 4 to 6 weeks to receive the refund, that is not a good customer service approach from your part and bizarre.   • Who can a customer contact if they are unhappy with the customer service the have recieved?

    I have been a verizon customer since 2008, I have been happy with my service, but at times when I have an issue, I don't feel I have been helped or talk to anyone that can actually help me or do anything.  More often than not its is a "wait it out till this just blows over" feel to the situation.  I don't really want to put all my business out on a public forum, but I currently have an on going issue that has been going on since sat and it is still not resolved with an order I placed.  It was identified on that day, When I was finally able to place the order (which is a whole other separate issue) that there was some incorrect information in the order.   I was told I had to call back once the order was processed, which I did in an attempt to have a correction made, which I did.  After a day it looked as though things had not changed so I called back again only to find that there was another issue, I had not been notified about.  I was told by the reps that helped me that there was not anything they could do even after speaking to a manager.
    Obviously there are alot more details which I have all that information written down, but my point in starting this thread is that I believe that there are alot of customers that go through things like this and it never reached the "right people"   At this point, my order has not been fulfilled, it has been paid for and I have been told it could take up to another 10 days before it can be processed.  I don't feel that is acceptable at all.  I don't feel like this will be a it will blow over incident for me.  If I am unable to get any assistance for this I may leave verizon.

  • The worst "Customer Service" I have ever had to deal with.

    I have been a customer for 6 years. My monthly package once cost me $54.99, this month it has been increased to $74.99.
    Two weeks ago I call (with a $0 balance) to find out why I am being charged this price for 15/5 speed, while new customers are paying $49.99 for 25/25. 
    I was told even though I was a long time customer there was NOTHING they could offer me. I was then told that they would issue a notice to customer retention and call me within 48 hours. They call never came.
    Today my wife recieves an email stating we owe $180... Two weeks ago I owed $0... 
    I call and speak to another rep and I am told the best they can do is a $5 a month credit, they can't account for the $180 in charges and that I cannot receive the new customer price.
    With that said, if this is how you treat loyal customers, then I am going elsewhere...

    Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.
    Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
    Under “My Support Cases” you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions.
    To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe".
    Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

  • The customer service we have experienced has been laughable!

    My girlfriend has been a customer for over two years now, and when her contract is up... We are leaving!  Verizon does not even care if they lose a customer, if they did they would have fixed our problem.  Instead they blaim their other departments, and still do nothing.  If you go into an official wireless store they do nothing but try to get you out of there... they are much too busy to even listen, let alone try to help!  If you call 611, they will tell you that the stores are only there to sell you gadgets, not help out with problems.  Our problem needed to be recreated, so you can only do that in the store, if you have no back up phone to use while they test your original phone through the mail.  THE STORE IN HEMET CA, WON'T EVEN LISTEN LONG ENOUGH TO EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT THE PROBLEM IS, LET ALONE TRY TO FIX, OR INVESTIGATE ANYTHING.
    NOT EVERY CUSTOMER IS TRYING TO SCAM YOU VERIZON!!!
    yOU ARE FAILING THE CUSTOMERS WITH ACTUAL ISSUES!!!

    I uninstalled-deleted them. I hope this was the ok thing to do cor-el
    I took a handful of the links for malware removal removal from ideato email.
    I ran a couple of them and their results were nothing.
    I ran Regclean pro... with multiple indications of infection.
    I ran hitman Pro and it's also yielded many hundreds of errors.
    When I attempted to fix the errors by Registering the product and confirming my email, my computer was forced to shut down.
    With a pc message from hitman exclaiming malware and viruses were found and a restart was necessary.
    Since that happened the process of me cleaning it up or running the free trial with hitman Pro, I thought all of the data collected and the process of cleaning was gone. I re-ran another scan upon my computer starting hitman again and it yielded 7 threats detected, and everything cleaned.
    I reran Reg clean pro. It still yielded 487 errors.
    I will keep trying other things above.

    Hi Skype Customer Service,
    I have previously sent an email, about two weeks ago, regarding the use of Skype as a customer service hotline- however, we have no received any feedback.
    If we could get some assistance, it would be greatly apprpecaited.
    Our company would like to use Skype as a customer service tool interface and need the assistsance of Skype to do so.
    Our questions are:
    1. To who should we speak with to set up a business acount
    2. Are there any regualtions/precaustionaries that we must first be aware of
    3. Is there dedicated support? Such as, will it always be in the formmat of sending an email (such as this) or is there a hotline available for us to speak to a representative for a faster service.
    4. Do you have any other companies that are currently using Skype for the same reason that you would be able to share some of the best practices on how to best use this tool.
    There are also a couple more specific questions that arise from these four questions, but we would greatly appreciate feedback regarding these questions to begin the process and then look at more specifics later.
    If we could please contact as soon as possible, we are extremely interested in getting this up and running as soon as possible.

  • I have a disclaimer that says my Adobe Flash Player is out of date and needs to be updated.  I have been trying to figure this out for 2 days, which is a waste of time, and I chatted with Adobes Customer Service department who said they can't help me

    because it is a free application.  They referred me to the Forum (which I have tried many times) but to me that is like a dog trying to chase the tail.  I am very upset because I cannot get You Tube nor can I listen to music.  This may seem trite but it is not trite to me.  I pay monthly for the use of CC Photoshop and Lightroom.  I will not give them anymore money for other software as they do not offer excellent customer service.  I am a consumer and should be treated with business sense.   Adobe keeps making a ton of money and gets away with it.  They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life.  Shame on Adobe.  I will not use the Forum for assistance. They should be paying us for learning an IT job.  Obviously, Adobe is self centered because they don't consider that maybe we all have a life and cannot worship Adobe.@

    I had been getting those notices for months, I finally broke down and hit the button to automatically upgrade. I was flooded with offers of new services from $10. to $49. per month - and my audio/video for Facebook, NYT and NPR are "blocked" with the advice to "upgrade " my Adobe Flash Player - for which there does not seem to be any customer support. My advice is to skip the "upgrading" if your computer works;I do not know what to do now . .  .

    Verizon Wireless has the absolute worst customer service I have ever received.  The in store reps are unprofessional and spend more time texting and taking personal cell phone calls than in helping customers.  They are not at all knowledgeable and even state they do not know what they are doing.  When you call customer service you get jerked around and passed from one person to the next with no one knowing how to fix my billing issue.  I have received NO call backs that were promised and the latest person I spoke to was incredibly rude.  Sanita from Sacramento refused to even give me her last name or the last name of her Manager Nick so that I could follow up.  I am incredibly disappointed at how poorly I have been treated.  I will make sure to tell everyone I know about this experience and as soon as my contract has expired I WILL be leaving Verizon services after 10 years with the company!!

    yes, I have indeed spoken with 28 different customer service rep.s, today is the 29th. and yes, i do not agree with the answer i am getting. I purchased a new phone in september, it is not functioning, and has not been, "fatal error" per tech support. they have finally sent me a replacement phone, and i received it a day and a half after it was "guaranteed" to arrive. the replacement phone is refurbished, i paid for a new phone, i would simply like to have a new phone to replace it.  or a refund to equal the difference in price btw purchasing a new phone vs. used..   i do not think i am being unreasonable, however, there are many people who read and reread policies on the phone. there is no way to contact the same rep. twice, so that one does not have to explain themselves again. no way to email anyone. the worst customer service i have ever dealt with ever.
