Fatest and recommended way to update 1millon users ID on a 22millon db

We have 2 Oracle databases, ver 9 and 10, with over 22 millions users on each db and there's a need to update the key ID.
The db is not normalized, so for speed purposes the key is repeated in many other tables, then there's a high risk removing the constrains, update the ID and put the constrains back.
The other issue is about performance, the change should be done within a 6 hour window.
Any Ideas???

The DB has 22 million records (users), where the key id is their phone number with area code included. The area code is changing and on some other cases also the number.
For speed purposes, this key is also on other tables. The records won't be deleted, just updated.
So, they way I found is remove constrains, update the key on every tables, put the constrains back.

  • Safest and Easiest way to update nokia xm 5800 to ...

    I've been trying a lot to update my 5800 xm firmware from v31 to v40, I used Ovi Suite and NSU it takes a lot of time and there is a good chance that you'd run into some errors, so what I did, and I dont know why it wasn't it suggested to me here..I just connected my device to my WiFi connection and updated the software, followed the instruction, it's so simple, and my device works fine, no bugs AT ALL whatsoever, I recommend you to update to v40, if your code doesn't support it yet, dont attempt to change your code in any way, just wait till it's available for your code, you can update by entering *#0000# then searching for updates.
    v40 is BUGS-FREE! 0 bugs!

    i would always go for OTA over pc as the pc often intends to be the problem when updates goes bad.
    I always make sure that my pc is running fine - no driverissues and all updates are installed. - I have never had any trouble updating with XP prof, Vista 32 and 64 bit and now W7 64 bit.

  • When i go to the apps store and click the download updates a users name i don't recognize shows up how do i get rid of it

    when i go to the apps store and open upgrades to download a user id shows up that i don't recognize how do i get rid of it

    You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
    Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store alert. For example, the App Store could prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app could be "Final Cut Pro." Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    kMDItemAppStoreHasReceipt=1
    Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
    2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select
              File ▹ Find
    from the menu bar. In the search window, select
              Search: This Mac
    from the row of tokens below the toolbar. Below that is a popup menu of search criteria, initially showing Kind. From that menu, select
              Other...
    A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select
              Raw Query
    as the criterion, then click OK or press return.
    Now there will be a text box to the right of the menu of search criteria. That's where you enter the raw search query. Click in that box and paste the text you copied earlier by pressing command-V.
    3. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
    4. At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
    5. Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
    If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method.

    The fastest way is to directly change the values in the catalog.pse9db database.  The database is a SQL Lite database, so if you know (or know someone who knows) how to run SQL queries against a database, you're in luck because Adobe did an excellent job of designing a highly normalized database schema.
    I highly recommend first trying this on a copy of your database.  In general, the procedure goes like this:
    Add one of your images on the P: drive into the catalog.  This will establish a listing for the P: drive and its identification in the volume_table table.
    Run a SQL query against the volume_table table to see a listing of all the rows.
    Note the values of the "id" column for your "thehive" volume and the "P:" volume.
    Run a SQL query against the media_table table to update the value of the volume_id column, replacing all instances of the "thehive" id number with the id number of your "P:" drive. The SQL query will look something like this:
    Update media_table
        set volume_id = "<your new value>"
            where volume_id = "<your old value>"
    I've tested this with PSE9.0.3 on Win7, changing the location from a CD on my E: drive to a USB stick on my F: drive.
    Good Luck!

  • Still in 3.6.3 and no way to update, will there be a solution, One Day ?

    Since June I am waiting this bug to be worked, Bug #57415 and still nothing.
    I have done everything that is asked everywhere in the forum, and also had live support, with a debugging task, and I gace the support guy the name of the process where the update stops working.
    Nothing appears on the screen after clicking the shortcut, and the only way to see FF running is in the process manager where it stops loading, and from thre nothing.
    I searched in Google and found 100's if not 1000's people having that kind of problem and like me have no solution to make it work.
    I understand that support and developers are working for nothing but a solution or at an answer would be fine.
    So I have a question, do I wait longer, maybe forever or do I have to forgot FF and work with another browser, what would not make me glad.
    No need to tell me to make a fresh install, to remove all plugins, to look my AV or firewall, or whatever tips you have, I already did this a couple of time and nothing works.
    Thanks for any solution

    Just clicked Forum (german adobe-website) in the Lightroom section. Sorry if I chose the wrong board :/
    The camera only can shoot RAW. I think even my Canons can't shoot DNG if I'm remembering right.

  • Can you update your user ID?

    Is there any way to update the user ID associated with my account? It seems unfortunate that I am unable to change it without jumping through hoops. Its already unfortunate that family share doesn't share Apple Drive space or iTunes Match/Radio services. Any advice?
    Thanks.

    Yes, for the forums here. The problem with abandoning an ID is I also lose purchases with that ID. I figured that was the case but I just wanted to check with the forum to see if some new solution had been made available.
    I wish that I could start a new Apple ID and move all of my content with it, being able to then delete the old ID entirely!
    Thanks for the help.

    Apps are only tied to one account... You can set up two iTunes accounts on your computer, however, and let his iPad sync to his account. If he has never backed up his apps to a computer, however, he will have to redownload all the apps. Afterwards, he can backup to iCloud instead of your computer.

    If you are already running iOS 5 on your iPad go to Setrings>General>aoftware Update and you can update over the air via WiFi. If you are not running iOS 5 you have to connect the iPad to your computer and update via iTunes.

    Ok, when I go into my Apple ID account, everything looks right.  It does show my user name.  It's only on the iPod that it shows my husband's previous user name, and it asks for his password.  Everything in iTunes and my account looks right.  The issue only seems to be with the actual device, iPod Touch 4th gen.
    There is more than one way to access the Apps Store and the iTunes store.  One is via iTunes on your computer, and the other is via the apps on your iPod.
    Just because you are logged in on your computer does not mean you are logged in on your iPod.
    The reason your husband's user name comes up is because he was the last one to log on.  You can change that by going to Settings>Store.  Tap the Apple ID, Tap Sign Out, Tap Sign In, Tap Use Existing Appel ID, enter your e-mail address and Apple ID password, and tap OK.

    WebLogic 7.0
    I have read a number of questions on how to do these but not many answers, so
    after figuring it all out, I thought I would post a message describing all these
    tasts (It would be great if BEA would start something like 'HOW-TOs for Linux'
    for WebLogic)
    -1. Imports required :
    import weblogic.jndi.Environment;
    import weblogic.management.MBeanHome;
    import weblogic.management.WebLogicObjectName;
    import weblogic.management.configuration.DomainMBean;
    import weblogic.management.configuration.SecurityConfigurationMBean;
    import weblogic.management.security.RealmMBean;
    import weblogic.management.security.authentication.AuthenticationProviderMBean;
    import weblogic.management.security.authentication.GroupEditorMBean;
    import weblogic.management.security.authentication.UserEditorMBean;
    import weblogic.management.security.authentication.UserPasswordEditorMBean;
    import weblogic.security.providers.authentication.*;
    0. Code to retrieve DefaultAuthenticatorMBean (this code is running inside WebLogic
    server - I have it inside EJB):
    DefaultAuthenticatorMBean authBean;
    Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    MBeanHome mbeanHome = (MBeanHome) ctx.lookup(MBeanHome.ADMIN_JNDI_NAME);
    //Find UserEditorMBean
    DomainMBean dmb = mbeanHome.getActiveDomain();
    SecurityConfigurationMBean scmb = dmb.getSecurityConfiguration();
    RealmMBean rmb = scmb.findDefaultRealm();
    AuthenticationProviderMBean[] providers = rmb.getAuthenticationProviders();
    for (int i = 0; i < providers.length; i++) {
    if (providers[i] instanceof DefaultAuthenticatorMBean) {
    authBean = (DefaultAuthenticatorMBean) providers;
    break;
    1. Create/Drop/Update users
    to perform these tasks, the user must be logged in into weblogic and be in Administrators
    group. Then, the code is as follows:
    create user: authBean.createUser(username, password, description);
    remove user: authBean.removeUser(username);
    change user's description: authBean.setUserDescription(username, newDescription);
    remove user from group: authBean.removeMemberFromGroup(groupname, username);
    add user to group: authBean.addMemberToGroup(groupname, username);
    2. Change other users' passwords (MUST BE ADMIN TO DO THIS - by Admin I mean be
    a member of Administrators group)
    authBean.resetUserPassword(username, newPassword);
    3. Change your own password:
    this is a bit trickier, because if you are not an admin, you can't change your
    own password!!!! This is a part that I personally don't understand - seems like
    a screw up on BEA's part. So, to allow users to change their own passwords, you
    must change security context in the middle of processing to that of Admin user
    and run this function as Admin user. Although a bit ackward, it's very easy to
    do. Suppose you have two EJBs - EJB A and EJB B. EJB A does normal processing
    for the user and always runs in logged in user's security context. Now, suppose
    you want to add a method to EJB A to change current password. The method may
    look like:
    public void changePassword(String logon, String oldpwd, String newpwd)
    throws some exceptions
    Now, there is no way to do it in EJB A, because for most users, it will run in
    a 'non-admin' security context. So, to get around it, you create another
    EJB - EJB B. This EJB has one method:
    public void changePassword(String logon, String oldpwd, String newpwd)
    throws some exceptions
    and one major difference - this EJB always runs in a secrity context of admin
    user. To get an EJB B running 'as admin user', all you have to do in EJB A is
    the following
    EJB A:
    public void changePassword(String logon, String oldpwd, String newpwd)
    Hashtable props = new Hashtable();
    props.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "wlmanager");
    props.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "password");
    // get context that with different credentials
    Context ctx = new InitialContext(props);
    EJBBHome home = (EJBBHome) ctx.lookup("EJBBHome");
    EJBBLocal adminEJB = home.create();
    adminEJB.changePassword(logon, oldpwd, newpwd);
    adminEJB.remove();
    of course, this poses a problem of hardcoding user id and password for admin user
    in your application - you can come up with your own ways to secure that.
    THAT's IT!!! You can use the method explained in part 3 to allow non-admin users
    to do pretty much everything, however for the sake of security, I would definetly
    vote against it and use part 3 to ONLY allow users change their own passwords
    Enjoy
    Andrey

    I have a similar question, I would like to edit the artwork for EACH episode in the podcast, as well as have one artwork for the entire podcast series. Any suggestions? This is a podcast that I've created -- I did the same thing for a TV Show where I was able to do custom artwork for each episode, but not one single artwork for the entire series. Does anyone have suggestions of how i should proceed?
    Recap:
    One image for entire Podcast Series (or TV show)
    Different Set of Images for each episode in Podcast. (Understand how to do this in TV show)
    Thanks!

    The first thing to do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. You — not the previous owner — must do that. How you do it depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
    1. You don't own another Mac.
    If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
    If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. For early MBA models, you may need a USB optical drive or Remote Disc. You should have received the media from the previous owner, but if you didn't, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
    To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
    If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
    2. You do own another Mac.
    If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. Alternatively, if you have a Time Machine backup of OS X 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a Time Capsule or other network device), you can boot from that by holding down the option key and selecting it from the row of icons that appears. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
    Once booted in Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive.
    After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. You will need the Apple ID and password that you used to upgrade. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
    Then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. To upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
    3. Other issues
    If you see a lock screen when trying to boot from installation media or in Recovery mode, then a firmware password was set by the previous owner, or the machine was remotely locked via iCloud. You'll either have to contact the owner or take the machine to an Apple Store or another authorized service provider to be unlocked. You may be asked for proof of ownership.
    If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Mac App Store Customer Service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
    If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to  authorize it immediately under your ID. In that case, you'll either have to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.
    When trying to create a new iCloud account, you might get a failure message: "Account limit reached." Apple imposes a limit of three iCloud account setups per device. Erasing the device does not reset the limit. You can still use an account that was created on another device, but you won't be able to create a new one. Contact iCloud Support for more information.
